would love to be the kind of person who can buy concert tickets for NEXT MARCH but unfortunately i’m not that girl. i couldn’t even plan to see joshua bassett when i started listening to his album three days before he played closest to me (i was going to but i had work and got tired) (i also didn’t want to drive to baltimore. nobody wants to get their ass up and play in dc anymore 🙄) literally things could be so different in march and i’m barely hanging by a thread living day to day here….

Here we go kids, submitting two poems for publication and one of them I rewrote from memory because I lost it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. it's better to have submitted and gotten a gaping maw of nothingness in response than never to have submitted at all. Are there any other cliches I can come up with to avoid pulling the trigger on this? I hate that saying. I don't want to pull triggers. I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Nice video, Nike, but you violated our unspoken agreement
This is a cool video. Fun camerawork, interesting people, and catchy music that drives a sharp edit. And everybody’s outfits look great.
But, Nike, that’s not the deal we made with you.
Sure, the reality is that we wear Nike gear strictly for fashion, but only because you tell us you’ve made these shoes and clothes for serious athletes and serious athletics.
That’s why you call them “cross training” shoes even though they're “walk from the car to the back of Walmart” shoes.
It’s the same deal we have with Ford. Ford tells us the F-150 is built for driving over boulders on construction sites and hauling stacks of cinder blocks. Then we use our pick-ups to go to Taco Bell via paved interstates.
And Wheat Thins tells us they’re baked, not fried, and made with 100% whole grain. Even though they have almost as many calories as potato chips.
M&M’s sells a “sharing size” bag that none of us will ever share.
Of all people, marketers should know and abide by these unspoken agreements their brands have made with their customers – knowing full well these are based on image and not based on reality.
There ARE some athletes in Nike’s video. If you happen to recognize them or read the press release. But they’re not seen doing their sport. Such a pure fashion play is all the more startling given Nike’s discipline over the decades to sell sports and not the "concrete runway."

Ladies and Gentlemen, here we have the advert which probably set a never reached again benchmark for a football World Cup campaign. W+K agency disposed of 100m $ budget to recruit the richest roster of football testimonials ever, entrusting the direction of the ad to Terry Gilliam. The infectious soundtrack signed by Junkie XL remixing Elvis Presley "A little less conversation" made the rest.
Final point of a complex campaign encompassing the organization of caged football tournaments for kids around the world, then Nike's vice-president and future CEO Mark Parker defined it "the most comprehensive and successful global campaign ever executed by Nike".
