Nightwings are the scholars and mystics of Phyrria. They have expansive libraries and museums in their kingdom, as well as the most intricate schools and universities. The current Queen, Battlewinner is an ailing but stubborn queen. She has only one heir, princess Greatness, as well as one son (Battlecry, an oc). Greatness is trying everything to avoid becoming the next Queen, but she’s running out of time and options as her mother’s health worsens.

They have perfect night vision, as they are a nocturnal species, they see better at night then day. Their eyes and ears tend to be bigger when compared to other tribes. Most common eye colors are shades of green, purple, or amber. Blue is a very rare eye color among Nightwings. All Nightwings can breath fire.

Scales are most commonly black, dark grey, or darker and less saturated shades of purple, red/brown, green, or blue. Horns and claws come in grey/silver or black and a about roughly 40% of the Nightwing population hatch with a second but smaller set of horns that curve more downward then the first pair. The underside of their wing membranes resemble the night sky, with no nightwing hatching with the exact same pattern of star like scales.

Nightwings who hatch under one full moon, will either receive mind reading or seer abilities. A silver tear drop under each eye indicates mind reading, and silver tear drop scales along the sides of the neck and tail indicate seer abilities. Nightwings who hatch under two full moons get both abilities and those who hatch under no moons, get no powers and no extra silver scales. The very few who hatch under three full moons (the brightness night), will have a more powerful version of the first two abilities. There is a line of nightwings who may sometime hatch as animus, though this is rare. This line can be traced back to Darkstalker and his family. Animus magic, though not as intensely regulated as it is in the Ice Kingdom, is regulated to a degree. With most Nightwing animus end up working for the royal family in some way.

Basically in my au, Nightwings never left the original Night Kingdom and never lost their powers. Darkstalker’s story ended much differently to, I’ll explain that au eventually.

i finally drew a ref for liminal! they're a nightwing seer hatched on a blood moon, and has frequent nightmares of potential future catastrophes. he hates his powers and is working with both a team of nightwing scientists studying ability-dampening substances (like skyfire), and futuresight scholars who teach him methods to control his nightmares.

CHIRALITY 2024 REF !!

MEET CHIRALITY !!

Chirality is, put simply, an AllWing. Or would you call it tribeless? Regardless, she has the blood of every tribe in her veins. The blood is so diluted at this point that the only thing she can do is fly- she doesn’t have firebreath or frostbreath, she’s not moonborn, she can’t grow plants or sting anything. She’s painfully average.

Extremely bitter about being so regular and powerless, Chirality finds an animus-enchanted earring that allows her to shift her appearance to be that of a tribe of her choice- similar to Chameleon. She never goes without this earring and refuses to present herself in her typical tribeless appearance. In each form, she’s come up with a personality and backstory for herself.

She’s extremely jumpy and aggressive when it’s unnecessary. She’s defensive of how she conducts herself, and always feels like she’s lesser-than. This feeling of insecurity manifests in an almost bullying nature that, if she’s not careful, can bleed through into her appearances.

I finally finished my new dragon base, this took me so much longer than I thought it would to complete due to how large it is! it's a puzzle base as well, meaning you can mix and match parts to better make unique characters!

It's a base meant for standing references to show off a design well, but you are of course free to use it for adoptables as well! It has all of the typical wings of fire layers + general dragon stuff so if you'd like to make a fluffy, antlered,  feathered, shark dragon you can definitely do that as well! There are 150 layers all together though I had to split the base up into 3 files as the linework is pretty big. So please be sure you have a system that can handle it before purchasing! As well as s system that can open a procreate or PSD file!

I actually wanted to add even more layers for customizing but I didn't want this to be too huge 😅 in the future if this base is popular enough id be more than happy to provide a very cheap ad on for those interested!
