Good morning (it is 10 om) i woke up from my nap. The books i got r:
Little broken things by nicole baart (its abt like, a sister gets a text from her older sister & then shows up & is like "take care of this little girl for me" & then disappears)
Liminal by jordan tannahill (a guy wakes up 1 his mother either dead or asleep & its a thriller. I dont really understand what this one is about. On goodreads the little descriptjon says "from androids to cannibalism or sex clubs" & i do love all 3 of these things)
The last smile in sinder city by luke arnold (its about a private investigator with monsters and magic? & it reminded me of um juno steel from the penumbra podcast, so I wanted to check it out)

A full year of this review blog is in the bag and I could not be happier or more grateful to everyone who follows me or who has read my blog in this past year.   There’s still work to be done, as this is a learning process for me as well, so while I will continue to post weekly with either a review or my musings, small things might be tweaked here and there.  Colors, images, things like…

My latest book of the month pick ♡︎. I also picked Everything we didn’t say by Nicole Baart, but can you guess which book I’m more excited about? 😁. I’m going into this one pretty much blindly y’all. I have been avoiding reviews left and right because I don’t want to be swayed 🙅🏾‍♀️😁. Okay so, the story follows Orquídea Divina. She is born unlucky and as a child she makes a bargain with a mythical and magical creature to hopefully change her luck. Eventually she leaves her home in Guayaquil, Ecuador and relocates to a small Midwestern town called Four Rivers, where she settles and starts a family. Decades later, Orquídea’s descendants are summoned home to Four Rivers. Once there, they discover they have inherited a deadly legacy of power used for bad and festering secrets. Sounds pretty good right?!? I can’t wait to get started on this one 🥰. Do you subscribe to @bookofthemonth ? If so, what were your picks for October ? Happy Reading bookstagram ☕️☕️☕️. - #newbooktoread#bookshelvesofinstagram#readingday#bookingforfun#bookstacks#readersofbookstagram#readingweather#noshelfcontrol#bookofthemonth https://www.instagram.com/p/CUxYaRJLmiY/?utm_medium=tumblr

When Everything We Didn’t Say popped up as one of my choices for BOTM, you better believe I grabbed it! I can’t resist the thrillers that pop up, and Nicole Baart’s latest novel is no exception. Nicole Baart is the same author who brought us Broken Little Things for those needing a refresher.
When Juniper Baker left Jericho, she promised herself that she would never be back. But the jokes on her, as heading back is exactly what she is doing. She’s telling herself that she’s only coming home to help an ailing friend, but that’s not the whole truth.
Everything We Didn’t Say is a slow-burning mystery – the sort that makes you desperate to turn the pages and figure out what is happening. As such, I pretty much devoured this book. I was so desperate to learn all of the secrets that both Juniper and Jericho had to offer.
Many elements of this novel felt familiar: teenagers falling in love but keeping it a secret, the friendly neighbors that feel more like family, and the desperate need to find their place in the world. Some parts resonated with me, while others felt so on point for a burgeoning thriller.
Everything We Didn’t Say really got right was the real threat and terror of the world. People can be horrible, especially when they let their obsessions run wild. That hit hard here, leading towards the perfect conclusion.

The other day I received this book in the mail after winning it on goodreads giveaway and it sounds so good. 🤗 I can't wait to read it. 😀 . . You Were Always Mine by Nicole Baart . "Jessica Chamberlain, newly separated and living with her two sons in a small Iowa town, can’t believe that a tragedy in another state could have anything to do with her. But when her phone rings one quiet morning, her world is shattered. As she tries to pick up the pieces and make sense of what went wrong, Jess begins to realize that a tragic death is just the beginning. Soon she is caught in a web of lies and half-truths—and she’s horrified to learn that everything leads back to her seven-year-old adopted son, Gabriel. Years ago, Gabe’s birth mother requested a closed adoption and Jessica was more than happy to comply. But when her house is broken into and she discovers a clue that suggests her estranged husband was in close contact with Gabe’s biological mother, she vows to uncover the truth at any cost. A harrowing story of tenacious love and heartbreaking betrayal, You Were Always Mine is about the wars we wage to keep the ones we love close, perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty and Jodi Picoult." . . . . #bookstagram #bookblogger #booksofinstagram #bookish #bookphotography #booklove #bookstagrammer #bookworm #bookporn #booknerd #booklife #bookaddict #bookishfeatures #igreads #mybookfeatures #igbooks #reader #reading #bibliophile #instabook #tbr #bookhaul https://www.instagram.com/p/BmUPsm0lQ7I/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=grb3zji5a1fi

Title: Everything We Didn’t Say
Author: Nicole Baart
This was an intense read, and I was not prepared for the revelations that followed this suspenseful tale.
A brutal murder turns the lives of Juniper and her brother, Jonathon, upside down in the small town of Jericho, Iowa. When their neighbors, Cal and Beth Murphy are found dead, Jonathon is the number one suspect, but he is never convicted of the crime. That doesn’t keep the residents of Jericho from holding a grudge, though. Fifteen years later, Juniper returns to Jericho to help an ailing friend and repair her relationship with her daughter Willa, but while she’s there, she determined to solve the mystery of what happened to the Murphys and clear her brothers name. And it seems the local law enforcement has been looking into to case as well.
I love that this book switched back and forth from present to past and reexamined the chain of events from Juniper’s POV as a teenager because there was so much more to the story, and I wanted so badly to know what really happened. I thought the writing was very well paced, and I’m glad the truth wasn’t revealed too early on. I will say I had a hunch that ended up being true, but it was still so surprising when it was finally spoken out loud by those involved.
Overall, this was a great read, and I definitely recommend it!
*I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*
