Growing up in Manchester with seven other brothers and sisters was a challenge. The house was always so full of noise and people, there wasn’t always a place to go to get peace and quiet and Trevor always liked his peace and quiet. He was a quiet type of guy, always more thinking and watching than wanting to engage in a conversation. It got him picked on at school quite a bit but his older brothers usually came to his rescue when he needed it. Despite all the noise and lack of privacy, Trevor loved his family and wouldn’t have changed them for the world. It was nice knowing there was a bunch of people who would have his back no matter what. So when his parents were murdered it was a massive blow. He was around nineteen at the time and it was very hard to deal with. The heads of the family were just… gone. The Hayes family split apart a little bit then, especially when they almost lost Lauren too, as she’d gone after the guy who killed their parents and was almost killed. If her partner hadn’t come along (she was a police officer like their father had been) then who knows what would have happened.

The three of them, Trevor, Alice and Lauren, all stuck together the most after the tragic loss of their parents. Their other brothers and sisters moved out of the house, Nicola moving off to get married, and it ended up being just the three of them in that big house. They adjusted as best they could, each getting jobs to help pay the bills. The last thing they wanted to do was lose the house. So much already had changed or been lost and he knew that Lauren held on the hardest, she would be devastated to lose the house. Trevor got a job as a bank clerk to pay his share of the bills and spent the weekends playing football in the park with his mates. It was a simple life, moving on without their parents, inviting their other siblings over for sunday dinners or catch ups, but Trevor liked it anyway. He was glad to have his sisters, they were as close as you could be, and it was something of a relief to have a quiet house for once, even though he still had times when he missed the noise and his mother’s voice yelling from the other side of the house to keep it down or to get the football out of the house. Adjusting was perhaps easiest for Trevor than it was for the others, though he did feel a slight pang of guilt over it.

Baberton is the town his sister Lauren was transferred to from the Manchester police, to help with their serial killer problem last year. She wasn’t supposed to stay as long as she has but another killer seems to have surfaced and she’s determined to get to the bottom of it, help the people of this silly little town. Trevor has been talked into coming and convincing Lauren to come home by Alice. He agreed because he figured a change of scenery would be fun, even if there’s a killer on the loose, and he doesn’t think he’ll be here for very long. Though he’s promised to stay as long as it takes to convince Lauren to leave this dangerous place. Maybe she can get another transfer if she tries hard enough? Trevor knows how much Alice worries about Lauren following their parents tragic fate, especially because it almost happened before. He’d do about anything for his sisters and he’s starting to like the thrill of being in this dangerous town even though the whole point is to talk Lauren out of staying. He can sort of understand why she likes being a police officer so much.

Trevor slept with Lacey Dixon during his first week in town and she ended up pregnant. Trevor doesn’t know that the baby is not even his. He got a job at the local bank to help pay for everything they’d need and he and Lacey moved into a little apartment in town. Things are going pretty well for him right now and he really thinks moving here was a great idea. Everything’s falling into place and Lacey is perfect, a little over the top or dramatic at times but he likes her a lot and they have a baby so he’s determined to make it work.

→ What’s His Secret?

To help keep up with his share of the bills on the big house the three of them lived in, and for things like groceries and stuff, Trevor found himself selling drugs locally in Manchester. He knew it was stupid and dangerous and also how much trouble he could get into especially considering his sister’s profession, but he did it so they could keep the house. There were a few times where things had seemed too expensive for the three of them and Lauren was always exhausted, working overtime. He knew her hours could generally be crazy but Trevor felt bad about how much extra time she did just to keep them in the house. She even sent money back from Baberton when she moved. The money from the drugs helped massively and he just made out like he got extra shifts at the bank. Trevor kind of wants to put it behind him now before he gets in too deep and he just hopes his past won’t catch up with him now that he’s here.
