Nicola is the daughter of Rorney and Maureen Blackstock. She is also a sister to her half-siblings Bernice and Paul. She arrived to the village in 2001 to get to know Bernice. She stayed and became friends with Emily Kirk. She took fancy to local chef Carlos Diaz who was with Bernice at the time. They slept together after Bernice dumped him. She lied to him that she was pregnant to get him back which worked as he proposed. Carlos and Bernice were having an affair as he was engaged to Nicola and he could've been the father of her child. Nicola and Bernice fall out but later make up. When she was 24 she seduced local sixteen year old Robert Sugden who caught feelings for her but she later had him walk in on her and Syd Woolfe having sex. She started a successful cleaning business which employed locals Pearl, Betty and Laurel. During this time she met a fishmonger, Simon and they began dating. Simon ran into financial trouble which strained the relationship. She wanted to seduce Simon's friend who was also her brother's lover to spite him but was unsuccessful. Simon found out about the affair that never was and ended their relationship. Nicola briefly left the village. When she came back she claimed to be a widow that had inherited a fortune. This was a lie as he was still alive but in a coma. She wanted her cleaning business back which David Metcalfe was now running. She would need to prove that Donald's son Miles was drinking again to inherit Donald's wealth. She kept him alive to gather the evidence she needed. Donald woke up unexpectedly and this drove Nicola to contemplate murder. In 2009 she ended up spending the night with Jimmy King in a haulage van. She was initially attracted to money she thought Jimmy had but later discovered true and deep feelings for him. They rowed a lot which lead to them breaking up and her moving in with Laurel again. They later reconciled after Nicola found out she was pregnant. Her pregnancy was not without trouble as her friend Lexi had an ectopic pregnancy and this upset Lexi. Nicola wanted to protect Lexi by keeping her distance when she started to show. After a row Lexi pushed the heavily pregnant Nicola down the stairs and a few days later she went into labour. After Angelica was born jealous Lexi kidnapped her and took her to a roof. Nicola and Jimmy get their daughter back unharmed. Nicola witnessed young Cathy biting another child so she bit her to let her know what it feels like and got into trouble for it. In 2016 Nicola is trapped in a house fire caused by local lawyer Rakesh Kotecha. She is rescued but she suffered from brain damage that caused long term mobility issues in her other arm. She received special physiotherapy years later and regained control of her arm. Her husband Jimmy went to court after he caused Paul Ashdale's death while tired behind the wheel. This strained their marriage. They also went through custody battles with the biological mother of Carl who turned up wanting him back after years of not caring about him. They did get to keep their son. Nicola suffered from a bout of agoraphobia after she was brutally attacked and beaten by a gang of girls. She was in a car accident with Moira Dingle which left the now teenage Angelica injured and struggled to accept fault. She is a determined and sometimes mean woman who isn't afraid to tell it like it is. She has a passionate marriage to the haulage firm owner Jimmy and a close friendship with Laurel Thomas. They often get together and work though life's problems over a glass of wine.

Jimmy's 20 votes couldn't hold up to Sarah's 33 votes.

Jimmy is the oldest and only surviving son of Tom and Mary King. The son of a business man Tom was expected to continue the legacy and he did stuble through it. His early years doing business were burdened by sibling rivalry and his failing marriage to Sadie King. Jimmy and Sadie wed in 1990, before moving to Emmerdale in 2004. Jimmy was desperate to be a dad but Sadie was not keen to get pregnant and was taking contraceptives to make sure she wouldn't. She was also frightened to miss out on the King fortune so she schemed behind Jimmy's back. Drama filled with affairs and blackmail lead to Jimmy and Sadie splitting for good. Sadie and Jimmy's brother came together to try to ruin Jimmy and the business. They paid Cain Dingle to drive a bulldozer into the Kings river development showhome. The damage of the crash and shoddy patchwork by Jimmy caused an explosion that killed three people and injured many, including Jimmy himself. Further grief was to come when the King patriarch Tom was pushed out of a bedroom window and murdered on his wedding day. All the King brothers were suspects and the murky details surrounding the killing ensured no one got caught for it. Jimmy and Matthew were shocked later on to learn it had been Carl who had pushed their father. Jimmy also got a surprise half-sister in the form of Scarlett who had been the result of an affair. He also got closer to Kelly Windsor who vowed revenge for the death of her friend in the explosion. She actually fell in love with him and they planned to wed. The wedding day didn't go as planned as Eli Dingle confessed a kiss between the bride and himself and Jimmy found out she had an abortion behind his back. The wedding didn't go ahead. The family firm, King and Sons went bust, Donald De Souza being the driving force behind the financial woes. Matthew was planning on marrying Anna De Souza but on their wedding day, he died. The brothers had had a massive fall out before his death because of feelings of betrayal which in turn made Jimmy miserable. Jimmy went on to get close to Nicola Blackstock as they had a drunken fling in the back of a van. They ended up in a relationship after a rough start and Nicola fell pregnant. The couple bought the Woolpack but quickly figured out they weren't up for it and wanted to spend more time with baby Angelica. They find out Jimmy has another child with his ex Kelly who knocks Jimmy out giving him amnesia. Kelly briefly gets her way and tricks Jimmy to be with her again but his memory returns and the truth about her hitting him come out. Elliot ends up with Nicola and Jimmy. Another addition to the family came in a form of mix up at the fertility clinic. Carl's parents didn't want him anymore so biologically Jimmy's son came to stay with them instead. Years later Carl's mother came demanding him back but she eventually changed her mind not wanting him after all. Jimmy was traumatized as he was driving his van tired and lost control of the vehicle. He crashed into a barn where local gambling man and abuser Paul Ashdale was holding Liv Flaherty hostage. The accident ended up killing Paul and he went to court for it. He is a docile man who thrives under strong women like Nicola. Their marriage is for the long haul and they compliment each other in many ways. He is a kind hearted man who isn't quite cut out to be the ruthless business man the King name demands but he is a good boss to his employees. He is a devoted family man with a lot of friends waiting for him with a pint at the Woolpack and at the new Man Club he is involved with.

When that spoiler image hit, all I could think was, “This looks like something from Robert Jacob Sugden-Dingle’s vision board.” But that was clearly wrong, because Robert would have had Aaron in a suit. So, obviously, I had no choice but to fix it.
