nick and trubel, the ultimate father-daughter found family duo

i love the found family trope between all the grimm characters, but this adopted father-daughter duo is UNMATCHED and i wanna talk about it.

nick took her under his wing and let her stay with him and juliette because he KNEW what she was going through. when he first started seeing wesen, he had aunt marie and monroe to help him navigate it all. trubel had NOBODY. she watched a wesen kill her foster parents, and she was constantly getting attacked by these monsters that nobody else could see.

when she met nick, he showed her the trailer and the grimm books. he helped her realise she wasn’t going crazy, that he could see them too. i feel like it’s a parallel to aunt marie telling nick the truth when he first started seeing wesen - “… we can see them for what they really are” - telling him that he isn’t going crazy, that this is real.

marie also gives him the books and everything else in the trailer, all of which had been passed down generations of their family, and he lets trubel use them. i know that the others (hank, wu, etc) were also allowed to use them, but this was different. nick had known them for a long time before opening up to them about him being a grimm. him and trubel shared that ability, giving them an instant connection that didn’t exist between nick and anyone else.

i also love how every time trubel comes back, there’s such a pure reunion between her and her dad nick. it really does feel like she’s his grown-up child who’s left the nest and is coming back to spend some family time killing wesen visit.

i’m so glad the producers didn’t push a romance plot between them, because their dynamic is a beautiful example of found family done right.

Listen there is one fucking character that I absolutely DESPISE in Grimm (Renard) and I keep seeing this one person posting their fic about him and it makes me ANGry bc I hate him but also it makes me UNREASONABLY HAPPY to know that other people aremaking Grimm content still

why people don't believe meisner and kennet are humans?

the only power that grimms got it's seeing wesens, but grimms got no super srength or any other power, they're humans that have to train and meisner and kenneth are humans that trained more.

how did meisner and kennet know who were wesens? kenneth got money and meisner just liked to kick arses and got a computer with wesens identities I think

people only watch and don't pay attention to the series, they think grimm got super human strength and powers, they got none.

seeing wesens don't make grimms stronger or faster, seeing monsters everywhere just give them the responsibility to save the world, without the ability to see wesens, they are humans wit a lot of workout.

So, what are the original cast up to in my sequel fic? Well this post will explain just that!

Renard has retired as the police captain and spends most of his time keeping an eye on the wesen in Portland and acting as a Prince, with Diana helping him. They fix a lot of wesen based problems, and if they can’t they direct it to Kelly and Hazel who are private investigators, and of course if it gets to the point of murder, Hank, Nick and Wu will handle it.

Speaking of those 3, Hank took over as the captain and Wu got promted to detective and Nick is his partner.

Nick and Adalind are now married, and Adalind started her own law firm where she deals with wesen related cases specifically.

Hank adopted his neice after her parents died in a car crash and she’s about the same age as Selene (21). Her name is Ava and she loves her uncle a lot. She is also aware of wesen, but doesn’t get too involved with that.

Wu is single with 2 cats and living his best life.

Monroe and Rosalee are still running the Spice Shop with the help of their son, Freddy, and often with their grandaughter, Iris.

Trubel and Eve started travelling helping out wesen as they go and keeping an eye on the activities of the Royals in America.

And last but not least since I love him, Bud has his repairs business which he runs with the help of his children.

When we saved her from her canon death, the first thing our soulbond Pope gave her was a can of Pringles as a reference to their first canon interaction. Adam: Was very miffed that Melly didn't give him dragons in his canon story. Quentin: The only munbond we have that was an actual Tumblr user. Canonically first became sexually aware of himself while watching David Bowie in Labyrinth as a child.
