Between July 3rd and July 10th, share a little piece of your WIP fanwork for the Percico & Nicercy Fest Week! A line you're particularly proud of, an item/part of your fanart etc.. It doesn't have to be complete and it shouldn't be the entire work. Just a little encouragement for yourself and others to get working because Percico & Nicercy Fest Week is coming up in exactly 69 days!!

I highly doubt that I'll be able to participate in the Christmas one since I hardly have any time to write anyway these days and I already signed up for a Secret Santa, so managing 12 prompts seems... like a lot.

Also is that a trident but with two prongs? Like dad’s? Alright I need one of those, that looks so badass and he seems to just whirl it around so effortlessly, with that damn leather jacket and the piercings?? I mean where was this kid I swear, I don’t even know if I’m mad or really, really glad to see him again after all this time, who knows where he has been and how many monsters he has destroyed all alone just like that. I can’t understand why this feels like a complete miracle at this point brain please cooperate right NOW-"

Nico watches Percy poison Akhlys.

Day 2 of Percico Week - Powerful Percy (prompts by @percico-nicercy-events )

(Heavily inspired by Chapter 48 of House of Hades by Rick Riordan - Also this idea has been out there for ages)

Percy looked like a corpse, and Nico suspected he did too. Death mist did this sort of thing to a person, it was completely normal. Still, Percy looking so lifeless while still traversing Tartarus was a ghastly sight. Nico couldn’t see how he himself looked. When he looked down, he only saw fog. Maybe that was too thin to use as a descriptor, white smoke would be more accurate.

Akhyls was the goddess of misery, and the death mist. She claimed that this gift of smokiness, which would let them go unseen by monsters, was only viable if death followed. Well that sucked, but it was obvious her intention was to betray them from the beginning, so Percy seemed already ready to put up a fight. Nico took out his own sword, but it just looked like smoke. Riptide was the same it seemed, and did nothing to the goddess.

Nico could guess his weapon was under the same effect, so he didn’t attempt to use it. Instead, when Percy was lunged at, he put himself in front of the other. He took the blow hard, crashing into the ground as the goddess tried to tear into him. Despite feeling lighter and almost like he was smoke himself, he could still feel the sensation of claws digging into his flesh.

Before he could try handling this situation on his own, Percy was yelling. “Hey, Happy!”

He shouted more pleasant things about the goddess of misery, angering her to the point she was completely now focused on Percy instead of Nico. Nico could do nothing but watch as she screamed that they would both die. They would be sacrificed to Night. Their deaths would be painful. Wow, it sounded great.

Nico tried to get her sights back on him, since there was no way he was going to let Percy face her on his own. Despite his own fear, he cared about Percy too much to let himself run or hide. “Cheerful! Hey, over here Smiles!!”

Nothing, he meant nothing.

He sat up and watched while the plants that followed the goddesses steps started spewing sap, the poison flowing towards Percy. The poison settled around him, and Nico tried calling out more positive exclamations, but it was as if he wasn’t even there. Maybe the smoke had dissolved his form into nothing.

Percy laughed. That made Nico freeze. It wasn’t a cheerful laugh. It was broken, exhausted. Forced out in a wheeze that indicated Percy’s dehydration from their journey through Tartarus. A grin was on his face, and Nico couldn’t help but be mesmerized. In such a dire situation, Percy was showing a hidden side of himself. Nico didn’t mind it at all, but he worried about Percy’s mental state.

The pool of poison that had accumulated around Percy suddenly started flowing towards the goddess. “What is this?” She exclaimed with a disgusted look on her face.

Percy could control poison? He wasn’t sure how it was possible. Poseidon's domain was water, not poison- Though poison did have water in it…

There wasn’t much time to think it over, Percy continued to smile as the goddess started to cough. The poisonous fumes of her own creation were eating away at her. It was oddly terrifying, but also so cool. Percy was defending him, and that didn’t help the crush he still had.

Akhyls deserved this for sure, Nico wasn’t against this fate for her. However, Percy didn’t seem like the killing type. Him and Percy didn’t operate on the same moral code. He may find eye for an eye fitting, but Percy certainly did not think the same.

The grin wasn’t truly his, and the happiness he was taking in watching the goddess choke to death even as she tried to run away wasn’t him. Nico got up, and with no hesitation, he put a hand on Percy’s shoulder. He needed something to lean his weight against, Percy just happened to be a viable option is all.

“Percy, it’s okay. We’re safe.” His voice was soft and reassuring, he was keeping it low due to the lack of water.

The look of satisfaction melted away from Percy’s face, and his hands dropped as he let the goddess run off. He took one look at Nico, and suddenly he was back to normal. “Are you okay? Did she hurt you badly?”

Nico couldn’t help but smile a little at Percy’s concern, responding in a voice just as horse. “I’m fine. That was… Awesome, Percy.” He felt a little breathless.

“Was it really? I almost killed her.” Percy’s eyes were the same pretty shade of sea-green, even though he looked near death. Nico wanted to stare at them forever, but he would never be able to.

“But you didn’t. You stopped. This place does things to people, Percy. That wasn’t your fault. She threatened our lives, so you threatened hers.” Nico tried taking Percy’s hand, but they were smoke. “C’mon, we need to keep moving.”

Hi! So I already have a section of the google form to share other Percico/Nicercy ideas. It's the second question: "Are there any tropes that I missed above? Are there any specific ideas (that you already have) that you'd like to create content for? Please share them here!"

As for what made people ship Percico... honestly I'd be really interested in seeing those results. But at the same time I don't want to add a new section in the existing google form for this. I'm thinking maybe I'll make a different google form and/or tumble poll for this on my pjo side blog? I promise I genuinely am interested - it's just I want this account to stay strictly about the events.

WIP WEDNESDAY FOR PERCICO

Thank you, for helping,” Nico said when they were both under the A/C of the medical cabin. They were both icing matching black eyes. “You didn’t have to.”

“Of course I did,” Percy made a face like he had smelled something bad. “I couldn’t let those dicks keep fucking with you.”

“A lot of kids did,” Nico pointed out. “They just kept walking.”

Percy looked him in the eyes and without a hint of hesitation in his body or voice he said, “They should have helped you. They’re dicks for not helping.”

I have more wips but I wanted to share this one lol

Nico knew exactly what Percy went through in HoH, how Tartarus pushes you to be your absolute worst just to survive, and just how badly it would affect him. After all, Percy is one stubborn kid that would absolutely beat himself up over what he did to that goddess, having no compassion towards himself. And you cannot possibly convince me that if things had gone just a little bit differently, Nico wouldn't have had the opportunity and compassion of stopping the nonesense, and Percy would have actually listened, for once.

It was supposed to be done for day 2 of @percico-nicercy-events : Powerful Percy and Nico.

Forgot to say: The Shadow is actually a Jungian concept, and I though that out of everyone in PJO, Nico would easily be the one most in touch with that side of himself!

Percico Week Day 1: Percy pining after Nico

Blue was Percy’s color. It seemed everyone agreed with the idea, and he was happy with it. However, maybe it was Nico’s color too.

That was Percy’s current thought process as he watched Nico emerge from his bedroom, in his hoodie, in his apartment.

Everyone was heading home after Percy’s birthday party, which had lasted well into the night, except himself and Nico. Nico had recently been evicted from his own apartment, and was now couch surfing. Upon hearing this news, Percy instantly offered his own dwelling. What friend wouldn’t?

Back to the hoodie, Percy wasn’t really sure why seeing Nico in clothing slightly too big for him affected him in such a way. Maybe it was how Nico played with the sleeves? Or how when Percy saw him, Nico instantly put the hood up like he was embarrassed?

Percy couldn’t help but want to reach out to pull it down, exposing the black locks of hair underneath that seemed to be getting longer every time they met. Not only that, but also revealing Nico’s face.

“You suit the hoodie well! I’ll make sure your clothes are clean for tomorrow. I really just didn’t want you sleeping in your day clothes y’know?” He smiled cheerfully, praying to the gods that his demeanor didn’t give away how in awe he was.

“Yeah uh, thank you. It’s comfortable. The hoodie, I mean.” Nico kept his head down, moving over to the couch just to almost comically fall sideways onto it. His legs hung over the armrest before he pulled them into his chest.

Percy snorted, but also couldn’t help but cringe at how firm he knew that couch was. It wouldn’t feel great to sleep on. “I should get you a bed.” He spoke quietly, he wasn’t even sure if Nico could hear his contemplation.

Nico picked up his head, looking up at Percy with almost comedic determination. “A couch will be fine.” Percy shook his head in disagreement.

“No, you deserve better than a couch. I don’t want your back to be hurting.” Struggling to think of a solution that would be currently available, his mind went to the only bed in the small apartment. “Why don’t you take my bed?”

He watched Nico sit up, he looked as if he was confused by even the idea of it. Was it really such a crazy idea? Worry seeped into Percy. It was becoming apparent that he liked Nico, to himself at least. But if Nico was upset at the mere thought of sleeping in a bed he had once occupied, then he would likely try to discard his affectionate thoughts to the deepest recesses of his mind.

“Aren’t you uncomfortable with that? Sharing a bed with a gay guy?” Percy almost felt like time stopped for a moment. Nico was getting the wrong idea. He was offering Nico the bed for himself and himself alone, Percy was going to take the couch. However, it felt more important to clarify something else first.

Realizing what he was about to admit, Percy took a breath. “I wouldn’t be opposed to it. I’ve been starting to think I’m bi actually, but don’t tell anyone else yet. Especially Jason, he’ll try to throw a coming out party for me like he did with Piper.”

Nico chuckled before getting up off the couch, “Let’s sleep in your bed then.”

Now, Percy found himself in the same bed as a sound asleep Nico, curled up on the right side of the bed, softly snoring the night away. He was barely visible in the darkness, but Percy took time to let his eyes adjust so he could gaze upon whom he realized was his crush.

Wow, misunderstandings in conversations weren’t always terrible.
