I promise I am hard at work at chapter 2. Although October was a particularly rough month for writing, I think I am starting to hit my stride again. I'm at about 8.5k words with quite a bit left, so it'll probably be another fairly long chapter when it's ready (current guesstimate is 15-16k).

So y’all know the classic edge trope of “my blade cannot be sheathed until it has tasted blood”? What if a magic sword that has that requirement, except it’s sort of inverted.
