happy halloweeen!! here's my take on a "core refresh" pack (part 6)

frankie's fashion is very experimental. they like to explore themselves through what they wear since they're just learning things about the world. to symbolize their personality, they have a "quirky" style of fashion. mostly mismatched, mostly all over the place. there's not really a category for frankie's style... not that i can think of. they like to wear anything, honestly. dresses, suits, overalls, shirts, shorts, boots, heels. they're trying to figure out their style, so sometimes they'll incorporate some more colors. they like black and white, but they add teal in. yellow is another color added.

they don't wear real/natural silver because they've learned that this can harm their fellow monsters. any silver accessories they have is fake (painted grey, because that's a way to work around it)

they experiment with piercings

this was in my og design, but they have a huge patch over their left eye. it's plaid, so sometimes they try their best to match their outfits well enough for them to look aesthetically pleasing

likes patterns. stripes, plaid, etc. etc.

clawdeen's fashion is furry and bold. again, this is the fashionista of the school. she is the queen of fashion. again, she likes fur and animal print. whatever she chooses to wear is what usually sets the trends and expectations for those at monster high. she loves to explore herself though. i'd say her style evolves, but these are the main ideas of her fashion. she loves purple, but she also loves green. maybe has a french fashion inspiration? i don't really know how to label it. it's sort of mcbling, but also the style you'd expect of a very cunty aunt who likes shopping. she likes pants best, ngl. jeans are great. skirts are fine by her, she just loves pants.

i like the idea of clawdeen constantly changing up her style. yes, she can also wear something like her g3 outfits. much more coordinated. what i've displayed is the style that takes up most of her closet, tho

she wears glasses, but she has different pairs for each outfit

green is a color she loves so much but doesn't make use of it enough

the wolf family has a little emblem thing i've snuck onto each. it's a golden circle pendant with a small moon on the inside, two little bars holding up the design so it floats. it could also look like a money symbol... idk like coins. it's good luck. mostly for money manifesting and all. she runs with the gold and goes crazy. only gold, no bronze accessories. ever.

on days of the full moon, she will wear super loose clothing. the moon cycles could also impact her fashion choices.

draculaura's fashion is very iconic. a sort of gothy, classic, and romantic sort of look. i'd say she likes to take a spin on victorian styles and make them modern... while also mashing together those 2010s pink/black skull prints and tees that we all know and love. i really like the idea of her in a long dress that hits the floor. i would say she's romantic goth. she likes frills, long ball gowns, lace, and hats that can cover her from the sun whenever she has to travel outside in the daytime. lots of slip dresses if she wants to be more casual. elegance, but done cutely.

the silhouette of an outfit is what matters most to her when it comes to fashion

if she wears a skirt, she wears a big petticoat underneath. a very big petticoat

her parasol can be used interchangeably with a large hat. she always wants either or to match her outfit. and they are always kind of extra

her "victorian" style is a sort of nod to her immortality. she probably likes that fashion period best and likes to try and honor that

i like the idea of her experimenting with her hair. it was a g3 idea, kinda. but bangs, streaks, half and half, etc. i like to imagine draculaura being into the big goth hair

cleo's style is very similar to her g1 style. gold. blues. elegant, fresh, modern, and incredibly easy on the eyes. obviously, she loves to flaunt her designer clothing around school. and since she is so popular, it's expected for her to serve look after look. you will never ever see her look bad. every cleo portrayal i've seen never has enough mummy wrap. she needs it to survive and yet, she only has like, one or two bands on her arms. my cleo's fashion is all about wrap-themed clothing. she has lots of wraps. sometimes she comes up with ways to mix that or even show off her monster trait and heritage. she loves see-through, glittery material too, obviously paired on top of something. but it's glamourous. it's rich. it's sometimes a little 90s inspired, but mostly fresh.

this cleo loves pants. loose pants work, i suppose. but she likes them baggy. one of the best examples of what she likes to wear for pants would be those baggy pyramid-textued pants i designed for her once

gets custom made jewelry (braclets, earrings, etc) that spell out her name in hieroglyphics

likes shorter skirts, but secretly admires longer skirts ten times more

blue lover. any shade. try her. she will obviously mix around her makeup, nails, and hair to work around whatever blue she's feeling

loves gems. lots of gems. real ones, obviously.

doesn't like socks very much. she can literally just do the same thing socks do for feet with mummy wrap. same with stockings

Request: Hello, I was excited to see you’re opening requests. I've had this idea brewing in my head but I cannot write to save my life. Am thinking of a version for each SKZ member - overprotective younger brother SKZ who's proud of your success in the corporate world (you're all he talks about and hes got them intrigued), but refuses to introduce his noona to the member because he's wary of their flirtatious ways or even crush on you. And then you turn up at an event to surprise your brother and then... I'll leave the rest to your talented imagination because I don't know what kinda ending I'd want for each SKZ member.

cw: none really, just me trying to be funny, the short scenarios are lowkey bad but it was so difficult to come up with different situations and not reuse the same one over and over 😭

Bang Chan

You’re not much older than Chan, but you’re so successful at your corporate job back in Australia that Chan often talks about you to his members and sometimes his fans.

He has for sure mentioned you on his lives, and everyone can see that he really cares about his older sister.

Definitely doesn’t take kindly to fans asking if you’re single or attractive, he’s never given out your name or shown what you look like just because of that.

With the members, it’s not that he thinks they’ll purposely flirt with you, but his protective brother side just gets the better of him and he’d rather not take the chance. The boys are very interested in meeting you but even they don’t know your name or what you look like, and they love their lives enough that they don’t push Chan.

The boys are so confused when you first show up at the concert in Sydney, confused as to who you are until Chan calls you Noona, then they’re all over you once Chan (reluctantly) introduces you to them.

Personally, I don’t think they would be able to flirt with you knowing you’re their hyung’s older sister, which makes you older than them obviously.

I.N and Felix absolutely would ask if they could call you their Noona too 🥹 Seungmin would totally have to hold back on his ‘Chan is so old’ jokes just cause he doesn’t want to make you feel old.

You were waiting backstage for Chan with Hannah, your little sister had practically begged you to come with her to the Stray Kids concert. You hadn’t been to any of your little brother’s concerts before as your job always kept you busy, and you felt a little guilty that you hadn’t been able to attend before now. So when the concert date coincided with your vacation days, you knew you had to jump on the opportunity.

The cheers from the stadium arena were so loud that you wondered how Chris and his members were able to handle it. You kept yourself occupied with Hannah by talking about Chris and his friends, Hannah claimed that they were a rowdy bunch and from what you had seen online while trying to be a little involved in Chan’s idol career, you didn’t think for a second that she was wrong.

You heard him before you saw him, his voice unmistakable to you. He was laughing and joking with his members, whom you regrettably couldn’t name off the top of your head. What can you say? Chan never talks about them with you, and you don’t see much about them often enough in order to memorize them.

“Christopher Bang Chan, what do you think you’re doing to that poor boy. Put him down.” You chided your brother as you saw him walking backstage with one of the boys thrown over his shoulder. The sound of your voice made Chan stop dead in his tracks, making a few of the members behind him bump into him. “Y/n? Noona, what are you doing here?” He asked in surprise, ignoring the looks from his members, as he set down the fox looking boy and walked over to you to engulf you in one of his infamous hugs, he also pulled Hannah in for a hug too despite her protests.

“Decided to surprise you, my vacation days lined up with the concert and Hannah begged me to bring her so.. surprise?” You hummed once he let go, “Chan hyung, are you going to introduce us or are we gonna be left in the dark over here?” Seungmin pipes up. Chan definitely tenses, realizing he needed to introduce you to his friends but you beat him to it, already walking over to them. “Hi, I’m Y/n, Chris’s older sister.”

That’s all it takes for the younger ones to start asking you more questions, and your heart swells when Felix and Jeongin ask to call you Noona as well. “Yes, of course you can!”

Lee Minho

I actually don’t think Minho would talk about you much to anyone but the other members, like yeah, the fans know he has an older sister but any more information they have runs dry after that.

The boys are definitely curious though, cause Minho actually talks about you a lot with them, saying how you’re the co-CEO of a company that raises and donates money for charitable causes.

Even though he shares a lot about you to his friends, he gets weirdly protective over his calls with you cause he doesn’t get to speak with you often.

Literally locked the boys out of the dorm once cause they would not shut up while attempting to say hi to you during one of your rare phone calls.

“I am going to stuff your mouths with tissues and air fry all of you.”

Minho and the rest of Stray Kids were at a fansign event, they were all exhausted. They loved getting to interact with Stay and everything, but it always took a lot of energy from them to keep up with their fans’ excitement. Minho was the last seat, the line of fans seemingly unending to him.

You were at the fansign, unbeknownst to your poor little brother, who had tried so hard to keep you from meeting his rowdy group mates. You had introduced yourself to each member by just your name, and conversation was smooth. Weirdly enough, each boy had felt like they had heard your name and voice before, but they passed it off on being tired. You were the last in line anyway.

Minho hadn’t noticed you until you were literally standing right in front of him, had to hold himself back from leaping over the table towards you. The boys have never seen him talk so animatedly with a fan before. Then they heard him call you noona and they immediately realized who you were.

Chan may or may not have asked staff to keep you afterwards, or it might’ve been Lee Know. You won’t be finding out any time soon.

When the fansign event was over, all of the boys found themselves rushing to properly greet you. But Minho had picked you up and kept you away from them.

“Hyung! Let the pretty lady down!” Changbin whined, but that just spurred Minho to keep you to himself. “Nuh uh! My noona, you guys can’t have her!”

Seo Changbin

You’re his older sister by 5 minutes, yes you’re his twin.

You could’ve easily followed him into the idol industry, Changbin tells you all the time that your visuals would kill. But you just didn’t want that life for yourself, and he respected that.

He’s actually very proud to call you his noona, and doesn’t let anyone forget that he has a successful sister.

“My twin sister is an ambassador for a corporation, and is one of the most reputable women in her position.”

Has told the members how you were his biggest supporter during his predebut days. They secretly admire you very much for that.

Very thankful for you cause they otherwise wouldn’t have Binnie as a member and friend if not for you.

Fans know he has a twin, and you’re actually very active on his socials so fans actually know who you are, they love you. I think the boys at one point looked up your socials and got shy because of how pretty you look, definitely felt a little guilty for thinking like that, but they couldn’t help but agree with Changbin about your visuals.

Tbh, I really don’t think he would try to keep you from meeting them on purpose, they’ve definitely asked but Changbin just never had the chance to set anything up with you since both of you have extremely busy schedules.

“Binnie!” A familiar feminine pitched voice shouted from the front row, Changbin turned around quickly on stage, surprised to have even been able to hear you apart from the crowd.

Changbin excitedly moved over to the other side of the stage where you were standing in the front row, a huge smile on his face as he waved at you. The cameras caught this moment, showing you on the large projection screens in the stadium. The crowd cheered loudly at seeing the Seo siblings in the same place. Obviously, this caused the other members to noticed as well.

For the rest of the concert, each of the boys had, at some point, come around to you and interacted with you a little bit. Changbin made sure to put on a show of shooing them away from you. The rest of the concert was fun, you occasionally appearing on the screen when Changbin would start rapping as you hyped him up, cheering the loudest from your section of seats.

After the concert, some staff had corralled you backstage and a loud, excited Changbin came running up to you and picked you up in a bear hug that made you laugh loudly. Once he set you down on your feet, all the other boys had gathered around to meet you officially. You bowed respectfully as you introduced yourself and the boys couldn’t help but think you were the cutest person to bless their eyes.

Hwang Hyunjin

You’re a famous model that also owns your own clothing line, it’s also very well known that you’re Hyunjin’s older sister.

Hyunjin is always wearing something from your brand, and Stay has made a game out of finding what piece of his outfit is from your brand, it’s even got its own hashtag on social media.

Hyunjin will even model for you when he has the chance to do so, but let’s be fair, he does it everyday anyway.

He’s so proud of you, and always talks about you with anyone who will listen.

Felix is the only member who has met you because you had been at a Louis Vuitton fashion event that Felix had been invited to attend.

Hyunjin definitely wasn’t happy about not being there to introduce you himself. (And maybe worried that Felix had charmed you)

You were sat at a table, enjoying a flute of champagne and eating fancy food that you couldn’t pronounce the name of. These kinds of fashion events had always bored you, sitting at an assigned table with designers and models that you knew nothing about and having to listen to the event host drone on and on about what a privilege it is to have so many guests attending.

But your interest was suddenly piqued when the host announced that they had a few special guest models, all the way from South Korea. Your eyes widened greatly and you nearly spat out your champagne when you watched Hyunjin and seven other males step onto the the runway, modeling random designs. Your brother and his bandmates had come to this event as well and you hadn’t even known.

When the event was over, the guests were left to mingle. You immediately stood from your seat and made your way towards the table you had seen your brother sit down at. When you got there, Hyunjin had his back facing you as he spoke with Felix, who smiled when he noticed you. “This is treason, Hwang Hyunjin.”

Your sudden voice behind him made the poor boy jump in surprise and nearly spill his drink on Felix who just laughed. Hyunjin quickly turned and met your eyes with surprise. “Noona? I didn’t know you’d be here? And what’s this about treason?” He asked, still recovering from the shock.

“Modeling for someone else, I see how it is, your noona’s designs aren’t good enough anymore.” You feigned your sadness dramatically, which had Felix pitching in, “Ah, no worries, I can always replace him as your model!” Which had Hyunjin raising his hands in defense and attempting to sputter out an argument. “I may have to take you up on that offer, Jinnie doesn’t seem to love his noona anymore.” You jokingly pout, jutting out your bottom lip and looking away from your little brother with exaggerated movements.

“I see where Hyunjin gets his dramatic personality from,” Felix says, finally able to see the resemblance now that you and your little brother were standing side by side. Laughs erupted from around the three of you as the other members watched the exchange and saw both you and Hyunjin give Felix the same side eye.

“Oh yeah, I can see a resemblance, right down to their attractive looks too.” Han commented, immediately gaining a scowl from Hyunjin who very much disliked that his friends may think you were attractive, it was already apparent that Felix thought so.

Consequently, this cause Hyunjin to spend the rest of the evening corralling you away from his friends at every chance he got.

My younger cousin (16) watched tlok season 3 for the first time. Here's her opinion of the characters

Korra: "is it bad that she got more attractive to me when she was suffering?" Me: "idk, maybe?" Her: "... i'll talk abt it in therapy don't worry"

Asami: "i'm so confused is there something between her and Korra???" Me: "you know i'm not gonna tell you" Her: "yeah i hate it when you do that."

Mako: "alright he got more tolerable this season i'll give you that"

Bolin: "and he got worse. So sorry" Me: "but the lavabending?" Her: oh yeah that was cool. He still sucks tho"

Tenzin: "now THAT is Aang's son right there. That shit was bad-fucking-ass."

Bumi: "again, now THAT is Aang's son. THOSE are his children. Not the shitty adults we saw last season"

Kya: "a lesbian?" Me: "doesn't get confirmed til the comics" Her: "oh for FUCKS SAKE"

Zaheer: "best villain this universe ever produced only for him te become absolutely pathetic in the end bc bolin pushed a sock into his mouth. They should have kept him stoic and scary. He was so cool until that exact moment and they HAD to have a dumb bolin one liner. I'm so mad about this if you couldn't tell"

P'li: "sparky sparky boom WOMAN. A win for feminism."

Ming Hua: "i still think young Katara would beat her in a fight and i'd pay good money to see it."

First Mai mention from Masa... And then there's a chance it was actually George/Enjouji Madoka by full name (Ren's butler and also related to Renge if I'm not wrong(?) hence why he's the only one taking care of Ren despite his father's order to everyone in the house to ignore him and I'm sure there's a memorial in Ren's repeat from his POV where Renge asked him to do that in case she was not there anymore ;;w;;) from Ren's private story when he mentioned how there's one of his acquaintance who used to brought him to Italy on his childhood and I perfectly remember there's a spesific memorial for that back in the otoge (is it debut?), and now you're telling me there's also Tomochika mention from Camus's private story? 😭 Although her va already retired it's nice to know they still keep her around ;;w;;

(Oh yeah not to mention I've heard from ppl who had Camus UR that you can hear Alexander's sounds too in the side story and outside of that you can hear Camus mentioned him from time to time which is cute www)

Ringo and Ryuya (especially Ryuya cuz of Yamato) also got mentioned from time to time too which is nice www so far there's only Raging 3D model appeared in the main story and since it's only 3 chapters and they promises to update it later there's chance they probably going to bring back Shining with 3D model too, I mean this is the character who made utapri famous after all www

Ngl at first I didn't have quite a lot of expectations for raiemo when it got announced like yeah maybe I'd dl and play it like SL though maybe not that obsessedly playing cuz my girl's not there and the story of it is kinda...boring for me (their AU had great ideas but 5 lines for each chapter is a bit eh...)

Athough I'm happy they bring back Haruchan to the cast I'm worried whether they will be going to do her justice ever since the recent events of her treatment in the series but my god they really went beyond from what I expected 😭 I'm glad they really made her much more of a protagonist than I've ever thought and I love how you can see her personalities from it.

I'm also glad how the boys mentioned her reckless attitude when it comes to composing, "You tends not see your surrounding when you were composing please take care of yourself" Or "You probably haven't eaten anything aren't you?" like those little details of haruka being 音楽夢中 is so nice 🥺

(in case you didn't know this girl is music-obsessed okay. Idk why the anime change her background like that though she still keep a few of her personalities in (then again they also did the same thing with the boys changing things that didn't have to be changed so idk) You see she was such a shy and quite a loner girl before, she didn't know how to have a conversation with ppl using words as it's too difficult for her but she learnt that she can express her feelings using music.

I remember there's a description where she used to have like long hair and especially long bangs (the reason is because she's scared talking with ppl while making eye-contact so she never cut it off) but the one who made her want to change herself was Hayato on TV. To her Hayato is this shining and dazzling presence and sometime she even wondered how could a person have a smile so bright that she can't take her eyes off of him. While watching Hayato she learned that she can't keep being scared around ppl anymore so she actively tried to have a solo performance from time to time (with her original musics that she made) outside with her keyboard cuz music is the only way where she can properly communicate.

That's the time where she properly met Masato. She was doing her own solo performance as usual in the middle of the snow (she didn't care it snowed + she's more than happy knowing that barely anyone around bcus of it www) when suddenly a man suddenly singing in sync within her plays. They both talked and praised each other talents and later on promised to themselves not to let that talent go to waste. They're both each other's reasons why they went to Saotome Academy. After meeting Masato was the time where she finally feeling brave and cut her hair short to what it is now. You see, while Hayato gave her hope to walk, Masato gave her courage so that she could run. It's a shame the anime kinda ruined that ww

Also speaking about that masaharu meeting, in Debut prologue when she first met Ranmaru he asked her whether he had seen her before but he avoided the topic later cuz he thought he was probably mistaken or something but in fact in Masato's route it was revealed that the area where Ranmaru used to perform before was around the place where Haruka used to live and it's also one of the places where she used to perform too so chances are Ranmaru probably heard her performance before cuz this guy is also quite a music lover, another reason why he kinda tolerated her and gave her a chance on the beginning of debut and AS too 'cuz of Haruka's passion for music—even if he was mean to her when he was on his woman-hater phase www

It also didn't help Ranmaru also had the same problem as she did, that communicating with words is kinda hard on him but he can express himself freely with music so they're both are kinda alike hence why both of them are attracted to each other.

There's also like one of her bad habits when it comes to music which is being a workaholic www She's the type of a girl when she's too deep in her zone she can't see her surrounding at all so sometimes she tends to skip sleeping and eating (I love how her debut profile literally state that bad habits of hers www)

Because of that sometimes you could hear her talk about how she didn't sleep for days and later on collapsed out of exhaustation or just got sick and even got taken to hospital or just sleeping anywhere except her own room (Natsuki literally found her sleeping in the recording room before instead of her dorm room when he went to pick her up while Ranmaru found her sleeping in the office, he scolded her for that though he's surprised when she mentioned that she haven't been sleeping for 3 days and later on when she went to his home the lack of sleep finally caught on to her and she's asleep in Ranmaru's room www) —and these things happened in a lot of the boys routes wwww

Her quotes in Otoya's route is... something else XD

"I doubt human would die just because they didn't sleep for 3 days" -said her as she finished a months worth of work in by a week 😭 Girl, once a time it's okay cuz that's totally unavoidable when it comes to work but after knowing about you the chances of you doing this almost every day is high enough so pls stop.

Even Shining was like speechless and called her a demon for it, though girly is quite an airhead and she's in her I-look-up-to-you-Principal phase so she thank him for that which impressed Shining even more wwww

There's also her quote in Otoya AA once she moved to agency's dorm when she found out that the equipments much better than the school dorm and that it was a one person-one room, "I could definitely composing here for 24 hours straight~" girl pls don't.

There's also tomoharu convo when she went to her dorm room (otoya's repeat after story I remember(?)) and Haruchan just casually mentioned how she's so concentrated in her composing that without her knowing the sun was already up when she glanced on her window which just flabbergasted Tomochika and she's like, "My god, did you even sleep!?" Tomochika's thought after that was interesting cuz to her Haruka used to be this calm and reserved girl but she tends to be this wild uncontrollable being(?) that she didn't know on how to scold her www

In Ai's memorial when she got sick in his route and she can't be contacted no matter how long he waited for her so he went by force to her dorm room only to found the girl collapsed in the middle of her room www As he finished taking her to the bed he heard her calling him out which he thought she finally awoken but alas girl is sleeptalking and it was... 😂 "Senpai... I... finished the song... " Ai's reaction to that is hilarious www *This girl... She's still composing even on her dream? Just how much does this girl likes to work" 🤣

Another memorial after that is also hilarious cuz apparently after he nurse her back he still can't trust her to take care of herself, that once she wake up the next morning she'll do the same thing over and over again which turns into a cycle www so he in his own way try to message her (got interrupted by Reiji and Ranmaru 😂 and it had 3 versions of message, one by Reiji, one by Ranmaru, and one the combination of ReiRan which made Ai speechless until he dediced he write it himself www) in the morning telling her to stop working for awhile and take a full-rest until she finally got better. (Which reminds me when he went to make her food when she's sick she's so uncomfortable with letting her Senpai cooks for her so she's like let me do it but Ai's already done with it and told her off "This is Senpai's order, sleep." and girl silently went back to her bed it's cute 🤣) And after she got better and they went to their usual pace of work, Ai made sure to made her stop when it's gotten too long and force her to take a break from time to time. 😂

In another memorial of his, apparently the reason why she can be fully concentrated and good when it comes to music but not the other things (as in she's slow learning other things to which Ai scold her for it hence the 8bit meme) cuz according to Ai is because she used all of her brain only just for music so she didn't have any left to receive other things. Like her brain's only got plugged when it's about music 😂 The first time I read that what comes to mind was the Patrick episode where he went genius www

Also her becoming music-obsessed also tends to had few of boys getting jealous and feels like they lost by it (Reiji especially in ASAS 😂 imagine you try to propose to your gf but she told you that she can't imagine herself being a bride bcus her wish for now is to write music for as long as she wanted to, poor guy www—it didn't help that before that there's this scene where they were walking around at night and Reiji told her how he loved her smile and what should he do to make her smile which she replied by hearing music! Which later on made Reiji realized somehow music tends to make her smile much more brighter than himself which made him self-conscius so he promised to himself that he'd do his best to make her much more attracted to him in the future so that he won't lose to music which Haruka responded "???" 🤣)

There's also like Ren side too where he showed her how to play basketball and somehow the sight of him and how the ball went to the ring gained her inspiration to make music so she went all talkative about it to Ren which Ren just replied "Lady really loved music, huh" "Hm? Yeah. Why you ask?" "Nah, it's nothing. Somehow I got a feeling that I can never win against it" "???" 😂

And welp on Nacchan's repeat love end after story (you know how there's still Satsuki but it was rather called as wild Natsuki) these two were having fun in the forest until Natsuki's glasses went off, boy went blind without it so he literally try to grab anywhere to find his glasses and somehow that sight of Nacchan awoken something in Haruchan that she decided to be a naughty for a sec so she told Natsuki the wrong location for his glasses multiple times until wild Natsuki appeared and so these two are doing hide and seek as a wolf and red riding hood until he finally catch her and whisper to her what she wanted (in a sexy way okay) but sadly haruchan's like "I want to hear Natsuki-kun's singing voice or him playing a viola or—" which pissed off Wild Natsuki and he called her "You music-idiot woman!" 😂 which was supposed to be Sacchan's nickname for her from before he was still Satsuki(?)

Honestly I tends to joke that "haha did Haruchan have a 声フェチ" after seeing her first reaction being mesmerized by Otoya's voice and all her monologues about is...something else that she forgot she was sexuallly harassed on the train before and Otoya came to save her www but ngl seeing her reactions after hearing the boys voice after that...it might be not that impossible 😐 It also didn't help that this girl had sensitive ears too so playing with her ears will be--okay I'm gonna stop :")))

Anyway back to Haruchan's bad habits, Ai's memorial in ASAS is also hilarious. Like the end of his B Route is that he gave her key to his house and told her that she could go there even if he's not around while baiting her with all of his equipments on his studio which would made her composing easier. So boy finally went back from work and is glad to know that Haruka used his key. She's still working even after she greets him though Ai's kinda not bothered about it so he sat beside her while waiting for her to finish as he told us how his home now feels more homey now that it finally got decorated bit by bit by Haruka'a touch, like Haruka tends to bring these sea creatures plushie and keeps it in his house which is cute XDXD Like there's a penguin one, a dolphin and jellyfish. So he plays with one of the plushie while he waits for her until he just... got bored of it. Like it's cute he suddenly said this on his mind "I'm here right now and you won't even pay attention to me" though him sulking while still decide to wait for her is much more cuter XD

Welp until he finally decided to told her to take a break and she responded, "Oh, I'm sorry. It's just a little bit more" Ai... Ai's reaction hearing that was hilarious 😂 "That face... is definitely not just 'a lil bit more' face" Ai soon remember her habits 🤣 This robo suddenly went into detective mode and searching through all of her surroundings such as her empty mug and how only the table she's working on had music sheets all scattered around. He even went so far as to calculate how many hours she spent there which he definitely decided it's more than just four hours worth of work so he decided to be blunt and said, "You, you haven't take a break since 1pm didn't you? " "H-How did you know!?" and he... he literally took her by force from her workplace after that 🤣

Oh yeah, another cute facts about Haruka... remember how she was a fan of Hayato? She was such a fangirl before that when the topic change into Hayato she turned into this talkative girl even though she was so shy before and it surprised and intimidated Syo when he first knew about this side of her XD It happened on his memorial when he supposed to do a report with Hayato and Haruka's like "I got you" so she brought him to his room and showed her all of her recording collections so they watch Hayato together until Haruka decided to go full fangirl mode on Hayato like their conversation went like "Look at that Syo-kun! Isn't Hayato-sama Amazing!?" "Uh...yeah.." "Look this part is where he's adlibbing! Look look" which later on made Syo so quiet which is hilarious 'cuz you know this guy is the loudest ppl 😂 And usually syoharu convo were literally with Syo speaking talkatively with Haruka sometimes responding in a calm manner so it's interesting since their dynamic change here www

Also her being an idol fan didn't stop just with Hayato. After she dated her idol bf apparently this girl had a habit to buy anything to support her bf which is CD, merchs, anything. So you see, the thing with the CD... is seriously hilarious okay. I mean the CD was a song that she made by herself, and the reactions of the boys when she went and buy one is... Syo was perplexed and mentioned how the agency already gave them one when it got produced but girl already went to the store (Natsuki's Repeat Friend End After Story), when Haruka was going to go to the register and buy the CD Ai suddenly came up behind her and asking why is she buying one when he already gave her one as a celebration (Ai ASAS A Route End), Masato's a bit confused when she suddenly running to him with CD in hand while shouting that she managed to buy it but he's happy knowing her happy (Debut Masato). And out of all of that reaction... the one with Ai is hilarious. So apparently in the shop there were like two of Ai fans in there so they kinda noticed him and want to try approach him and he realized this so Ai told Haruka to let's get out of here but Haruka... 😭 She insist that he lets her go to the register and buy the CD first before they took off and... he actually lets her 😂 They didn't show how it went since the scene skipped after they finally ran away but my god Haruchan... 😭 "My idol bf almost got ambushed by his fans but oh no my CD is much more important" 🤣 this girl's priority XD

I also remember there's a scene where she bought Ranmaru's poster and told him how she's going to hang it up in her room.... forgetting that she lived with him now. But she still decided to ask him can she still hang the poster which the man responded, "Hell no, what kind of an idiot who hangs a poster of their own face in their room" 🤣)

Anyway I've just realized I talk way too much about this girl, I'm so sorry you can't just ignore that giant wall of words:"))) But yeah, I did like Haruka back when I watch the anime. But my god I never expected to actually loving her so much after playing the game, even more than the boys www. Like she's the reason why I'm still enjoying utapri until now. Any contents that had her in it I quickly went and prepare my spoon and fork while waiting for the meal. Broc pls release more merchs of her I need to buy more i'm still salty I never got the 10th anni merch by kurahana sensei cuz my god girl is so sexy she's full of confidence also pls don't forget about dolce vita--

Anyway back to raiemo, I've noticed that almost all of the backgrounds they used in raiemo literally resemble the ones from the ori game; such as haruka's dorm room, each of the boys's dorm room (starish), Saotome Academy's Classroom, and I also found out they also used Ai's room (studio) just like how it was back in AS in his UR side story (there's also a good chance the other senpai will have their own room displayed too asdfghjkl if any of you had their ur and unlocked their side story let me know)

So yeah I had a lot of fun right now enjoying raiemo, seeing Haruka still working as a composer and learning about the boys once again. I hope they keep mentioning and bring out the sub characters more in the future if by chance they mention Hakase and Kaoru I'm dead but I hope they mentioned the parents too I miss hearing Nacchan's Dad Story or Syo's parents (which their dynamic is interesting cuz his mom is the one wearing the pants in the relationship www)

Thought a lot the last couple of days about what to start posting about next and I think I'm ready to show y'all the Master Bathroom. Then who knows what else next update.

I was surprised that a house this small (1100 square feet!) had two full baths. That's kind of a lie... the master bathroom shower/tub was uhhhhh... not a full tub? It was truly a size that I had not seen before. I honestly don't know where they would have even gotten the tub. Maybe it was custom built? I'm sure it was from the 60's.

Posted a couple of "Just bought the house" pics above. Let's take a look through the last 21 years of this bathroom and how we got where it is today.

TBH this post is ridiculously long for the smallest room in the house, oh well.

It's not a big bathroom at all. It fit the three things you need for the requirement of full bath, sure, but that's about it. And, of course, everything in it was original to the house built in 1963 or AT BEST it's possible from the 1980's.

It was also, ya know, gross.

I posted this in the previous update but that's the wallpaper I was met with. It had a barebones mirror, and NGL, I did kinda like this lighting? Honestly, it kinda ruled. I miss it a little. That was the only good thing in this room.

It's a bathroom with a window that looks out on the patio, and that window has always been gross and cloudy.

Even today, that window is there, Arturo promises me the new one should be in next week, so I will probably post another pic or two once that comes in.

I think the pics now posted in here are the only ones I have of the original.

With my near-zero budget after buying the house, all I could really afford to do in here was clean it as good as possible, new shower curtain and rug, and slap some fresh paint on it after taking down the wallpaper, which I believe was very easy in here, at least. I don't remember a struggle.

The original color scheme I went with was purple and green, basically to honor my paternal grandmother, who had recently passed and those were her colors.

Oh also put up this very cheap little shelf in lieu of a medicine cabinet.

lol look at that joke of a shower. The showerhead and shower caddy were also new.

A like $5 thrifted little Van Gogh print, the height of sophistication I could afford. (It's actually STILL THERE, RIGHT NOW. I really DO love it.)

Ugh, those green blinds. Hey at least the window was covered with SOMETHING!

I was very, very proud of myself, I put that little cabinet together and put it up all by myself.

It's still up! I do wish I'd gotten a bigger one with a shelf underneath, though.

So that's what it looked like late 2003 until 2012.

Around 2004 I started realizing that if took a shower for too long, water started leaking out from the wall under the window under the trim. Yep I'd shower and then the floor would be flooded.

I just stopped taking showers in there.

Honestly the tub ended up being storage. I kept the cats carriers in there so I could get them in there and then get them in their carriers without much problem. Anytime I fostered cats, it became the stray/foster cat room until they trusted me enough to let me pet them.

It was essentially a half-bath for the last like 18 years.

In 2012 when my parents and I did bathroom renovations, things got better!

Ooh, much prettier!

The new toilets were one of my favorite changes ever. Big, tall, sturdy ones I've never had a problem with.

I had been thinking about selling the house so the purple and green were changed to beige, to match the sink. Also new towels, rug, etc. Kept the same shower curtain for then, but in the next year or so I changed it.

Accent over the shower, on the small wall by the toilet and on the windowsill was a brownish orange. And kept light green for all the linens.

Yeah the window like I said is still that terrible window, FOR NOW.

Also... did y'all notice anything missing?

LIKE SOMEWHERE TO PLUG IN A HAIRDRYER OR LITERALLY ANYTHING!?! A bathroom... without an outlet. When I had roommates, I'd have to blow dry my hair in front of my vanity in my bedroom. So annoying.

So one of the original like 5 things Arturo was brought in to do, that kicked off everything else was to put an outlet in that bathroom. It's on a wall that isn't as convenient as I'd like it to be, but Arturo has A Technological Reason it has to be there, so I'll take it. With the rewiring, it's also surge protected, so even though it's not as great as I want it, it's a small compromise I can live with.

I didn't take a single picture of consequence in the master bath in the next 12 years or so. Honestly sometimes I'd go a month or two without even going in there.

For the years when Patchy lived in the master bedroom this was a little extra space for her, but she rarely went in there.

The other purpose it served was the place where I kept the bag of food for the outside cats. Sometimes also extra kitty litter space, overflow medicine, TP etc. space... but all in all it was pretty neglected space for a long time. I'd clean in there once every six months maybe to mostly get rid of dust. I only used it either in the middle of the night, or when Patchy was alive to spend a few extra moments with her while taking a bathroom break.

At one point a few years ago I tried turning on the shower just to see what would happen and I couldn't even get the knobs to move.

Getting this bathroom fixed up was secondary to the hall bath, since that was the main bath. So when I showed Arturo the bathrooms to see what he thought, I stressed that this one was not important, maybe just if he could get the knobs working and knew why the water would flow out from the wall.

But his price was so good, of course I wanted to get both done.

Since we needed one bathroom to work, and this was the one most fucked up, he started there, as the first project they'd do after the electricity was mostly put back together and working.

I hadn't even noticed the demo had started (remember most of the work was happening while I was also working, like, my job, even though it's WFH!) and so the first time I walked by the bathroom and saw this I honestly wanted to weep with joy.

The fiberglass... the weird-ass tub... gone. Just a hole where it all was, and a hole in the ground as well. They dug through the cement and dirt underneath to figure out what the hell was wrong with the plumbing.

Welllllllllllllllllllllll... it turns out what the hell was wrong with it was that it wasn't connected to the sewer.

Like... the pipe was just draining right into the ground. And when the ground was saturated, the water crept up into the wall and came out that way!

Arturo told me it was a really good thing I'd stopped using that shower. I'd managed to avoid a dangerous and costly black mold problem.

So, Arturo fixed it and hooked the plumbing back up to the sewer.

He replaced all the piping you see exposed there.

There was no shower pan in the really weird size of that space, so Arturo had to build the new walk-in shower with cement. He made a mold, poured cement both for the little wall and the new floor, and for a few days, we left a fan pointed at it and let it cure.

Also the reason for that one square out of the accent wall was Arturo wanted to see if there was any wasted space in that intersection where the back of the fridge, the back of the hall bath and the shower/toilet area of the master were all kind of meeting up. Turns out... nope. All the space was used. It got patched, you can't even tell there was a hole there now, you'll see.

You'll also notice there's a curtain on the window. Like I said, I'd found a new shower curtain set I really liked not long after the 2012 renovation. I also picked up the matching rug. And I liked the shower curtain so much that I bought a second one that my mom made into a curtain for the window! With the extra material, she made a curtain for her own bathroom window.

So it came time to pick out new colors for the bath, I spent a lot of time with my BFF Sherwin Williams Swatch Book. After awhile, I went all in on using the colors from the shower curtain as the colors for the room.

(I also spent a few hours scouring the internet for a backup shower curtain and FINALLY found one on Ebay in great condition. Considering I bought it around 2013 I was thrilled. It's now in the linen closet waiting for the day when this one gets a little rough. It's fine now, remember I'd never even taken a shower while this shower curtain was in the room. I'm still looking for a backup rug. Anyway, back to paint.)

Contented was a shade darker than the curtain, maybe a little greener, but I fell in love with that color and wanted to use a soft green as the standout color, because the tile and wood in the room weren't changing. The Bathroom would be very beige and brown, so the Contented green would keep it from being too beige and brown.

And I fell in love with Llama Wool the moment I saw it. I know you should never let a color's name influence your decision, it's just what some person at Sherwin-Williams (in this case) decided to call it, but Llamas are sort of a thing with my friend group, and I wanted to use that color as a bit of a tribute to them. It was, again, a shade or two darker than the brown in the shower curtain, but I thought it'd look great.

I'm not posting pictures until THE REVEAL because of THE DRAMA, okay? I think it'll be worth it.

Arturo brought a sample of the ceramic main shower tile, 89c per really big piece. It was beige, would match the floor OK, and was perfectly neutral. It was great, a place we could get some savings so there'd be more money for important things.

Accent Tile was another big thing for me. I had always, always, always wanted glass mosaic accent tile in the shower and above the sink. I tried to get my dad to do some during the 2012 renovation but he said no, that was too much work for that weekend. So I was determined to use accent tile I loved.

Arturo had brought me a couple of samples and I'd okayed two of them, but they'd yet to be bought past that. One of them I loved and had marked it for the hall bath, the other I'd thought was fine, and thought I'd put it in the master.

And slowly my mind changed.

First I thought the one I loved would work better with the shower curtain and Llama wool. It was $15 sq/ft, which was definitely on the higher end of the budget, but it was worth it, and putting it in the master would mean we'd just need less of it.

(Arturo said we spent about as much on the main tile as we did 2 pieces of the accent tile, haha.)

And then Arturo told me I needed to find a tile for the shower floor, and I should go to Home Depot and/or Lowes and find something.

TBH, I spent time on both of their websites, then went to Amazon. I'd been browsing a lot of like, Pinterest and just google results of bathroom renovations and knew I wanted a pebble-style tile for the floor. I couldn't find exactly the right thing to match with the accent tile I adored for the master.

And then I looked on Amazon.

And I fell in love instantly. Without consulting Arturo, I bought five boxes of it at almost $90 a box. I didn't care. I had to have this.

I showed it to Arturo on Monday and he was like "YES. PERFECT. I'm glad you didn't wait, let's get started." Unfortunately only 3 boxes had shown up that day so it was a couple of days delay.

Next was picking out a grout that would work with the wall tile and accent tile and floor tile.

I picked a light beige one, the color of sand, on purpose, hoping it would fit my vision for the shower floor.

I also had to pick out shower fixtures... a showerhead/controls. Arturo suggested something to me, and it aligned with what I also really wanted. It was another place where I decided it was OK to splurge.

The master bath shower was just a useless space to me for so long... I wanted it to be perfect.

One day, I think it was a Saturday, I walked by the shower as the tile was going up and uh, I noticed that the main tile was going awfully high and realized that the guy installing it had forgotten about the accent tile. The accent was just one stripe around face-high. I stopped him as politely as I could in my slight panic and called Arturo. Also, I just realized, Arturo had yet to create the shelf, which would also include the accent tile.

Luckily, the mud was still fresh on the wall, and only two rows had to come out. The tile could also be salvaged after cleaning off the back. Arturo got there later that day and got the shelf made. A day or two later, the accent tile went on and a few days later, the shower was finished.

Okay enough words... here's the first pic of the finished shower.

Y'all.. I love it so much. SO. MUCH. Rainfall showerhead, a sprayer hose... the floor looks like you're walking on a sandy beach. I literally wanted to weep with joy... idk I might have, when I saw it all together like this the first time.

Still lots to do, but that night was the night I posted the little interlude where I talked about how so much is happening and how I had no time.

When work was done that day, I was so excited to take a shower.

And then my shower curtain rod was now too long, even at the minimum size, since the tile had added like an extra inch.

I wasn't deterred. I went to Home Depot, then Lowe's, then Target trying to find a shower curtain rod I loved to replace the old one. Each place only had shitty cheap rods in that small of a size and none were brushed nickle. So I bought a $7 rod (and a new curtain liner) and a few other things like shelf liner at Target... then went home and ordered a rod I loved on Amazon. When that was done, I took my first shower in the master bath in like 18 years.

And it was fucking MAGICAL. It was like being in a spa. I showered maybe longer than I'd ever showered in my life, definitely the longest I've ever showered in this house.

To me, for the last 20 years, showers were a fucking CHORE that I had to get through. You'll see when I talk about the hall bath more about why. I just absolutely hated showering -- not the getting clean part, obviously, but just being in the shower, either shower, in my house. I wanted to get out ASAP.

I just stood there and was like... I love being in here. This is the most beautiful part of my house right now. I want to stay in here for hours.

I washed my hair twice. I moved my facewash in there to have more to just do in the shower.

It's like going to the spa, every night.

I'd bought new towels, Turkish bathsheets. Huge, soft, absorbent.

Luxury.

Something I never thought I'd associate with my house.

My shower was beautiful. Maybe the first thing I'd ever really associated with that word in this house.

I look forward to my nightly shower now.

I'm using getting to go take it as a reward for finishing this post. :D

(Oh, oops, I forgot to show you the shelf! Btw, did you notice the COPPER in the backsplash? Have I mentioned I love copper? You have no idea how much I love copper. Just you wait.)

The one thing that I didn't love was that little shower head on the hose. It had nearly no pressure. So I ordered two new sprayer heads, one for each shower. Much better. And this one has a switch you can flip for a high-pressure sprayer hose to help clean the shower/tub easier. Not as sleek, but very worth it.

A few days later I walked by and smelled paint. Peeked in and uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

....someone had painted the bathroom.

The Wrong color.

It was painted the same peachy color as the master bedroom, not my Contented green (and no sign of Llama Wool!) Arturo facepalmed and pointed out the right color to his worker.

This is wrong and bad and LOOKS TERRIBLE.

Eventually, it was painted right and I loooooved it.

Also hey, there's the new outlet! See, not that convenient, but livable. I can recharge my toothbrush with the stand on the windowsill, and a hair dryer plugs in there just fine. Way better than none!

The dumb little shelf came out. We literally ran out of the accent tile with ONE MORE TO GO at the edge of the sink. Then our local Lowe's was out of it. And then the one near Arturo's house was out of it. I refreshed the Lowe's website for like two weeks until it was back in stock, and one Saturday ran straight over there, picked up the one tile and a couple of other things I needed, and it sat here in the house a couple more weeks. Just this week it got put on and grouted, lol. SO NOW I can show you pics of the sink area, too!

Beige Turkish hand towel (tbh they are like half the size of a regular towel, I love it.) The same decent cabinet as before but now elevated by its surroundings. Beautiful backsplash keeping the wall safe.

Oh, and that faucet?

My old faucet... the plunger part was broken so it would no longer close and the sink wouldn't hold water. Arutro was all "Oh, I have one in my shed you can just have." So he threw that in for free. It's a Delta! FOR FREE! He even installed it for free.

Y'all, I have so much to say about Arturo, he's amazing.

Now the faucet is chrome and the rest of the bathroom fixtures are brushed nickel, but tbh, I don't care. It works, and it looks nice, and it's a well-respected brand, and it was free. I'm HERE FOR IT.

Also, notice the wall color... I am very content with Contented. It's just the right amount of color against all the beige and brown.

And yes, the medicine cabinet has a place where you can insert your own photo under the glass, and YES I have had that medicine cabinet since 2012 and YES IT STILL HAS THE "Insert your own 8x10 photo here!" paper in it. LIKE I SAID this room was neglected. I am happy to report that I have ordered an art print I like that will be in there in a few days.

There were a couple of other improvements here. A new overhead light went in, replacing the old overhead light, this one has a fan. Yeah, there was no fan in this bathroom before, lol. And LED lighting. It's much brighter and nicer.

I also got a very basic bidet for both toilets. That just went in a couple of days ago and I am still getting used to it. It's COLD, didn't get a fancy heated one.

One thing we're going to talk about later is the trim and doors and stuff throughout the house. This is the only room that retained the Cream color that I used to have throughout the house as the trim.

You can really see the difference in this pic. Also, Fry!

There's an amusing story about the cream color on the trim that belongs elsewhere, that and the window were the reasons I'd been holding off talking about this room for awhile but, eh, screw it. You can see the windowsill and trim on the floor are that cream, so is the inside of the door. The shelf above the toilet also got painted that color, and it all blends really well I think. I painted the windowsill, door and the cabinet myself.

And yes, the floors need a real good cleaning. They ALL do. There's paint splatters and various other stains all over all the floors. I'm going to tackle all of it at once, when everything is done. No point in having to do it multiple times.

This pic I just took tonight, for this post. The bathroom is more or less complete.

I love it. It went from the room non grata to one of my favorite places in the house. And when I post this, I'm off to take a spa-like shower in it before enjoying a dessert and a couple of hours of TV time before bed.

My only regret is that I really wanted to use the Llama Wool color more. I wanted to do the windowsill and trim in that color but Arturo insisted he'd have to buy a different kind of paint for it, which would be an extra expenditure I couldn't justify, especially since we already had the right kind of paint in the old cream color and it also looked great in there. I honestly almost felt bad for having him buy a whole can of paint just for that one tiny accent wall, but I don't regret it! I tried to think of other places in the house it could have been used but... there aren't any, really.

Thank you, btw, for coming along on these extremely long, self-indulgent posts with me. They're largely written so I can look back at this time and marvel and what Arturo and I did, and how a lot of money and work was all worth it. This bathroom is just one course of several of what's to come! There are three (or four) other rooms that I now love just as much as this one. :)

stories i om-nom-nom'd :: march 2024 (week 4)

Welcome to a new thing I wanna try and do to keep some form of writing exercise while I'm lowkey kinda struggling to bang stories out (pun kinda intended). Here I'm just gonna talk abt what I've been reading and watching and playing for the past week and rambling on what I think about them. Summaries for the story either in full or the story so far will be included, and that's the only form of "spoiler warning" I'm gonna give.

Considering my interpretation of how the fight between Sarah and her Double went down, I'm in so much pain for her. She already escaped her grayscale dreary life and now she has to live in it again to keep up appearances? She deserves to live, dammit.

Double Cross by Campbell Thompson

I'm only a chapter in and let me just say right now I love the introduction of Verity and how she really went by her own rules and swiped a watch from a handsy sleazy customer of Eighth Circle. And here we also have an introduction to Thomas Cross that's every bit intimidating as he found the pricey lil trinket she swiped and we end the chapter with him bringing her into his office. 🫢 Now see this is how I know there's smth wrong w me because that last scene got the butterflies going with a vengeance fully knowing that Thomas Cross looks like this:

Undercover: Blood Bonds

Undercover: Blood Bonds is a time-management game from GameHouse under their Original Stories line, and requires either a GHOS subscription (under $100/year for full access to all 60+ games) to play the full game, or full payment of the single game (about $10/game), or each level will be locked behind an unskippable ad that's at most 60secs long. I'm playing with the GHOS subscription.

The story I've unlocked so far is that we follow the journey of Vera, a journalist that's gone undercover as bar staff in a nightclub to find out what's happened to her sister Lilly. In a flashback, we get to see that what kicked off the events of the game was that Vera went home to her shared apartment with her sister, only to be greeted with everything turned upside down in an obvious struggle, and a pool of blood on the floor.

Delicious: True Love

Delicious: True Love is another story in the GHOS collection, and tells the story of Emily Napoli, going on adventures and crossing continents to reunite with her long lost love Jean-Paul. Right now she's on a train to Paris with her luggage having made it there before her so she's earning her keep there by helping out in the restaurant.

I've been playing the spin-off "alternate timeline" version of the story called "Delicious World" for a few years on and off, and I've enjoyed the hijinks she's gotten up to so far there with all the twists and turns and antics she's gotten up to with her eventual hubby Patrick. And considering I've got the time due to being in the job hunting phase, I figured 'why not?' and I'd play through the original story.

Speaking of the alternate timeline story, I'm also playing through this game this week, as I have been for the last few weeks. I'm currently in Season 2 Episode 3 where Emily's rekindled her romance with Jean-Paul and ngl they're being quite adorable with their constant kissies and sneaking off to his trailer. We also have a cute lil reveal that her bestie Frank's got a bit of a fling going on with her Rising Chef competitor Monet.

Top that off with Emily having some insecurities popping up because she saw JP's phone lighting up with the name of another celebrity chef Shivani Khurana, her competitor (and current rival) Sarah's older sister. And what's got her stomach in knots is that some time ago, there was a rumor that Shivani and JP had a thing for each other. 🫢☹️

Hello Kitty Island Adventure

I've played through all the quests available under "The Island Mystery" and so far all I got is that the Little TwinStars have this master plan going on that they don't wanna share with the class, and they're acutely aware of exactly how much more we have to do so that we can fully heal the Island Spirit that I have jokingly nicknamed Loki because she's stuck in the heart of a tree.

Ohh and there was a quip from Badtz-Maru about us all being locked in a time loop, so if Sanrio and Sunblink are trying to beat the "Loki crossover" allegations (that are literally just coming from me in the name of jokes and vibes), they're not doing the best job at it.

Disney Dreamlight Valley

Aaaaah, Dreamlight Valley…the game that inspired a whole new story universe (coming to you soon on the writing/main blog), I've also played through all the story quests for this one and I'm chomping at the bit waiting for the new releases for Spring and Summer.

There's definitely something to look out for with Skull Rock, considering that the final quest of Act 1 after facing off and reconciling with The Forgotten centers around the entrance way into said rock. And the friendship quests for The Forgotten mention it twice. And with the way they built it up, I'm hoping that it's gonna be more than just another home for another character. Like idk…maybe a portal? To Neverland? Or Pixie Hollow? Maybe if we get Hook he'll look and sound a bit more like…him?

Nothing left to do but pspspspspspsps, I guess

MatPat's theory channels have been with their new hosts for a few weeks now, and personally I think they're doing a great job with their own domains so far. Even though some snarky dude that'll hiss when their skin touches the sunlight and their 3 chest hairs is consistently in my comment replies tryna tell me otherwise (bitch touch grass, honestly).

Anyways, I've still got a good handful of new theories to binge but I'll give some bits that I picked up from the batch that I watched the week before.

Amy Marie validated that I'm already using a pretty good razor for my shaving shenanigans, but there's a potentially better one that I'll probs look into one of these days. She also showed that ultimately what makes the biggest difference is prep and aftercare of the skin, so that's gonna be something I gotta add to the routine.

As for Game Theory and its new host Tom, I've actually been able to watch 2 of his theories, and basically he validated my instinctual doubts on the 'helpful' Ollie, as well as walked me through the KinitoPet ARG. Don't trust those animated clipart assistants, kids. Especially this one because I'm not kidding, this game fucking doxxes you.

Quiet on Set Ep5: Breaking the Silence

All cards on the table, I'm dreading this more than looking forward to it because watching the first four episodes broke me, and I'm still hurting for the people whose childhoods and innocence were taken from them in the name of money and power. But the creation of the first few episodes empowered another former Nickelodeon talent to come forward, and we're about to hear a whole new account of the physical, psychological, mental, and emotional horrors that went on in those studios.

Newest OC: I'm not going to count my Ryder from ME:A because I haven't introduced her here yet, so I'd say Roslynd. I wanted to create her in theory for awhile but then I got bit by the agent bug thanks to @tiredassmage and finally actually created her!

Oldest OC (length of time you've had them): As far as some form of their existence in the source material, probably Wulfwryn. I created her waaay back in...oh man...2011/12 when my Lord of the Rings hyperfixation was really sparked. Though I was an early middle schooler at that point, so naturally Wulfwryn was a thirtheenth walker insert and also far less developed and nuanced its a good thing I didn't post in the internet

However, in any iteration, probably Emeldir and Wren. They've been two of my longest standing OC concepts that have kind of bounced from universe to universe from old RP forums, to LOTR, to SWTOR. Though they're very, very different now. Emeldir used to be a wolf shape-shifter and Wren used to be far less of a WLW boss ass bitch.

Emeldir is my oldest SWTOR OC though, he was my first character way back in 20...uh...2015/16 when I first picked the game up.

Meanest OC: See, I'm really bad at making mean characters so I'm not sure xD Wren is probably the one who gives the least fucks and is more likely to put you in your place. She is a Dark Counselor after all, she's got to have an edge to her to succeed.

Softest OC: Raenor my bby boy (affectionate, that's a whole ass 500+ year old elven man). He is absolutely my softest OC who gets dragged into The Plot. He just wants to love Wulfwryn and create his music but instead Things Keep Happening.

Most Aloof/Standoffish: *trying to card through all my OCs, I have too many, especially Dragon Age ones I haven't talked about in awhile). I would say Five, only because that's how he is with basically everyone except Roslynd, Era, and his junior agents in the Cipher Division.

Dumbest (affectionate): This one probably goes to Ien, but I haven't talked about Ien in awhile he's fallen off the radar :') my idiot freckled blueberry smuggler. He's dumb as rocks (by choice).

For OCs I talk about regularly(ish) that has to go to Emeldir. He very book smart, but very young and naive at the start of the class story and very much NOT what you expect from a smuggler's personality and so many times Risha has to keep him from getting scammed because "NO they aren't being nice, they will take your money, no they don't actually need your help."

Smartest OC: Five and/or Ryn no contest. Five is smart as a whip, he needs to be and he's very logic-minded.

Horniest OC: *sigh* V. This woman cannot stop being horny for Judy even when we have plot to do. She's singularly minded, that one.

Ryn is also surprisingly horny but neither she nor I understand why she's attracted to turians, if she's actually attracted to turians at all, or if Garrus just Got Her With That Voice And Personality and the rest just kind of happens. So let me correct myself, she's *VERY* horny for Garrus, I just rarely write it because I don't understand physically why.

OC You'd Bang: *bisexual panic* Ha..ahaha...quite a few of them. Let's see, Five I accidentally projected My Type Of Man onto so definitely him. And also Ryn...very much Ryn, I mean *c'mon* yes Shepard hold me in your buff arms.

OC You'd Be Best Friends With IRL: Probably Emeldir ngl, he's so nice and chill and really just a quiet guy and by proxy that means I get a token extrovert friend in Rielay. I would love to be friends with Era but I definitely feel like she'd be way cooler than I am IRL.

I got caught in the middle of a field once, while horses were chasing each other around being horses trying to establish where the newest one ranked. I was... 10? 11? Somewhere there. If I was alone, I'd have been a lot more panicked and calm in measure because I'd have been able to time it and dive for the fence in the biggest gap among the herd of... I think it was 8 or 9 horses, new one included. The field itself wasn't super huge, probably... 50-75 metres across, maybe a bit smaller (it has been almost 20 years, I'm going off vague Google Maps reference here) and I was in the middle so I could have made that distance quick back then (the pros of being young and also the fastest kid in your primary school at the time).

But.

But I had two other kids with me. They were... I think a year or two younger than me, one of them might have been 7ish, I can't remember exactly, only that they were younger and I was the oldest among us. I wasn't related to these kids, barely knew them or their parents, and we only went together because it was a "hey we've all earned the right to bring our horses in today!! As a treat!" kinda deal.

And, honestly, any other day, it'd have probably been fine. But the matriarch of the herd in the field seemed to have it out for the new horse that day (mine, incidentally, which turned out to be a Good Thing btw).

So the three of us get to the field, we go in because none of the neigh neighs will come to the gate and none of us are Trained Horse Specialists at this point to read that there was a Reason™ for that fact. We get to the middle of the field and we call our respective neigh neighs (mine and theirs, just one other, thankfully), and that's when things Go Wrong.

Matriarch will not accept these lower ranked neighs coming in before her. She will not accept the New Neigh going in before her.

Matriarch must now Teach A Lesson.

Cue a mini stampede of almost ten horses running full speed in this kinda tiny ass field (tbf, they alternated the paddock with the one behind it every fortnight for field management purposes blah blah), and three kids slap-bang in the middle of the field, now trapped.

I am the oldest of us. I am also the youngest of three siblings. I am not the one used to being In Charge of those younger than me. But oh boy did I step into the role like it was made for me.

I keep these kids from howling and running off, grab them with the strongest grip known to man, and make sure they stay with me okay! Stay right next to me! Do NOT run away!

And I watch these horses galloping around, chasing my horse who is so, so smart and so trusting and trustworthy for having only met and bonded with me a few days prior (literally it hadn't even been a week since we got her and she was two and had never been handled before she chose me as Her Human).

I see how she's keeping ahead of the others after her.

I see how she turns on a dime to avoid getting bit and kicked and cornered.

I see how, even though it's harder for her, she doesn't come close to us in the middle, even though it would have been an effective escape route for her several times over.

I see this and I know. I know my girl will not get us hurt if she can help it.

I also know we don't have a lot of time for us to get out and we have to go soon and move fast.

So I keep my iron grip on these two kids whose name I don't even remember (and probably didn't then, I've always been bad with names of people ngl), and I tell them, "when there's a gap, we run for that bit of fence right there okay," and it's directly in front of us, as close as we can safely get without these other 8 or 9 horses trampling us in their herd-mentality race mode.

I watch my girl and I wait for it.

I wait for her to turn when I know she's gonna.

I see the moment she's about to, unable to not turn without getting cut off and caught by the herd.

And when I do, I yell "GO" and I haul these two kids like they're the most precious, durable cargo I've ever held in my eleven years of life over to that bit of fence and I make them drop and role under.

Only the herd is faster than three kids with their inefficient two legs and differences in height and stride.

I get those kids under that fence and I have to drop and roll too because the fence is electric so I can't just grab and yeet over it (fuck but I probably could have but I was eleven and didn't know much about electricity and voltage then, or adrenaline) but I'm out of time.

My girl is all of... Christ, she was probably about five or six feet from me when I turned and saw her. The herd right on her tail.

She was terrified and being chased and running on pure instinct. The whites of her eyes were probably as big as my own were in that moment.

But my girl.

My girl with her amazing paces and even more amazing ability to turn on a single hock and pivot near 270° in a single pace saved me.

She was barely five feet from me when she up and turned and the herd, only a few more feet behind her, had to turn just as sharply to keep following her, only they couldn't because they didn't have her skill apparently.

But those few seconds her turning away from me, very likely risking injuring herself or getting caught if she failed to turn fast enough, was enough for me.

I dropped and rolled under that fence and literal seconds after I cleared it, a stampede of hooves and half-tonne powerhouses galloped past even as they tried to turn in an arc to catch my girl.

I could have left those kids in that field. I was scared, new to horses, and had a whole new responsibility shoved on me in that moment. No one would have blamed me.

My girl could have not turned on a dime, risking herself, to give me a chance. No one would have blamed her.

But I didn't. She didn't.

The things we do to protect the young, even when we're afraid or young ourselves, are the things that make us worth saving. My girl was a hero herself that day, and she saved me whilst I was saving those two kids.

It's not "human nature" to protect others, younger, weaker, needier, or just who we think we can protect in the moment.

It's just "nature".

It's the mark of empathy and by gods am I glad my girl loved me enough already to act the way she did even when terrified herself and wanting someone to protect her too.

I was rambling on the issue of museums and human remains and how certain populations are more likely to have their bodies put on display to be gawked at and then went "well I guess the Pompeii casts were of Europeans. there are bones in there right?" and Googled it to make sure, at which point I confirmed that yes there are bones in there, but more interestingly DNA testing revealed that a cast of an adult holding a child everyone assumed was a mother and child were, in fact, a man and a kid entirely unrelated to him. Honestly that's more moving to me. Maybe they were connected in a way other than blood, but maybe a stranger saw a child when the world was ending and thought the one thing he could do was hold them.
