Here’s one reason why I don’t hate on any my little pony generation:

because every My Little Pony is someone’s childhood my little pony.

when I was a kid, Twinkle Wish Adventure is a movie I would watch on repeat for days. It was special to my soul. other people may see no value in this movie— completely fine! but back in the 2010’s, the brony hate for G3– ESPECIALLY G3.5– was horrific. I couldn’t talk positively about the My Little Pony I loved anymore without people yelling about how bad they think it is.

My nextdoor neighbor has four kids. they all love My Little Pony, too, and some of them are especially enamored with G5. Now, I am known to have my critiques with the new generation, much like many other longtime pony fans, and that’s fine! But this is THEIR My Little Pony, and it is every bit as special to them as ours was to us when we were children. Every My Little Pony is someone’s personal My Little Pony. Every My Little Pony deserves to be loved aloud.

Touched down in Johto. Goldenrod City. It's like Nimbasa, so that's nice.

There's a couple different options here. Celebi. Entei. Raikou. Suicune. Ho-Oh. Lugia.

If none of those work, I can go to Kanto. It's the nextdoor region, so it wouldn't be too hard.

Dusk and Twilight didn't have to struggle like this. They've always been way better with this stuff. Better than I ever can be.

I'm not great like they are. Do I really have what it takes for this? Maybe I should quit it, before I get in over my head, accept I'm just... not meant to be as good as they are.

But I'm already here. Might as well try. If nothing else, gives me a fun adventure to go on.

Last night I had a great dream revolving around a deaf bookshop owner and her adventures in opening her own small business and getting to know the other business owners on her street. She hired an old lady she befriended to work with her who was also deaf/hoh, and was kindling either a sweet friendship or a chaste romance with the squirrel man who ran an art shop nextdoor.

While this was happening for some reason there was a side plot revolving around Adam and Eve, who were revived and basically became Team Rocket, on their quest to find Jesus.

They hunted him to a desolate desert tundra, where Adam tackled Jesus and crushed his skull as Eve held him down, Jesus all the while forgiving him for his sins. They then fell upon his corpse and ate of his flesh so they could once more be close to God.

Meanwhile, the bookshop owner and the squirrel man had a lovely coffee date.

okay so this is my 5th generation in my current save. her name is asami kaneko and she lives in san sequoia with her dog, bolin. she owns and operates her own bakery which she also lives above.

she was born in mount komorebi to her parents, lydia and haru kaneko. her parents weren't expecting to have a child so asami came as a surprise to them. they were obsessed with adventure and were constantly going on camping trips or mountain excursions. asami never had the same affection for the outdoors, and as she got older she stayed behind for most of these trips. as a result, she spent a lot of time in her home alone, which is where she fell in love with baking. she dreamed of opening a bakery, which she has now successfully done. she is very happy with her life in san sequoia, but she doesn't spend much time with her parents anymore as they are still constantly going on adventures.

asami is currently dating her neighbour, august hart. he lives with his best friend, andre pepperwood, above a hardware store which he also runs. though he enjoys woodworking, his true passion is music. he and andre have a band together but they don't really perform outside of their apartment. the hardware store belonged to august's parents and was passed down to him.

the bakery build is by simmarysims i just made some minor edits, and built this rundown warehouse type building nextdoor which has the hardware store on the ground floor and an apartment above.

The dad, oldest sister and brother is however very involved in a simlish crime network. The dad is even second in command! (We don't ask who runs it all, we don't wanna know.) You'd think someone with that much money and that much influence would be happy and content but when you have alot you will end up wanting even more, I guess. Brother Owen is trying his hardest to live up to his dad's standards and sister Poppy is trying to find her next adventure. She was content for a while, after having broken two hearts and almost completely ruin a sister relationship but now she is bored again. The couple nextdoor, Lillian and Anang have been looking real happy lately... Poppy would like to change that.

the thing is there are probably a dozen people awake rn in the neighborhood who would walk down to the store for me for like $5 but I have no way of contacting them because Nextdoor is a dog shit website. unfortunately all the neighbors I have contract info for have respectable jobs or children and aren't the midnight gas station trip type. the kids next door are about to turn 18 though and I'm hoping they get a little goth and adventurous with it so I can be a Cool Safe Adult for them. the dad just asked me to keep an eye on them while he was gone at the end of the month (just to be within texting distance, they don't need direct supervision) which made me feel good. I'm glad he trusts me like that

there's something mundanely magical about nextdoor posts asking for local business recommendations & i am being 100% serious. a post on my feed just now was asking for a good garage door repair company and the first comment was a rec with 16 likes/agrees. then the whole thread was "YEAH I LOVE THIS ONE GUY SPECIFICALLY!! I'VE GONE TO HIM FOR YEARS I WON'T HEAR A WORD SAID AGAINST HIM" little one-person local repair shops n artists n retailers are pillars of a community and i love learning about them. like how weird and wonderful is it to live in such a chaotic bizarre fast-paced modern world and still be able to experience "the townsfolk all know each other by name and keep up with the neighbors and care so so much" it's great. people are good
