Yuji laughs, helping him rerack. “That’s crazy.”

Avoiding his gaze, staring at the console in front of you, you mutter, “Excuse me, but I’m trying to focus here.”

“Focus on what? Walking?” he scoffs, leaning on the handrail nearest to you. “You’re not going to get far if you keep going at a snail’s pace.”

You roll your eyes, finally looking at him. “So what do you suggest, Oh-Wise-One?”

It’s meant to be sarcastic, but of course, he thinks you’re genuinely asking. “You’ve got to alternate between high intensity and low intensity. Sprint for thirty seconds, then walk for a minute to cool off. Then repeat. Simple as that.”

Deciding it’s better to relent to him rather than argue, you brace yourself, upping the speed so that you’re doing an easy jog. 

“You can do better than that!” he hollers, reaching for the controls to increase the level, making the track move faster and faster. You’re sprinting full speed now, lasting about thirty seconds before you swat him away, tugging at the emergency shut off cord to stop it. 

You catch your breath, glaring at him, sweat starting to bead on your forehead. "What the fuck, are you trying to kill me?!"

He’s unfazed by your outburst and oblivious to the asshole move he made. “Don’t be so dramatic. You did great. You have really nice form.”

You don’t let his compliments dissuade you from being angry at him. “You can’t just do that without any warning. I’m still getting used to all this.”

This post motivated me to try something different: namely, name a good quality about the Democratic Party and its candidate.

Biden’s most admirable qualities are his general wisdom and steadfastness in the face of great challenges. While I might not always agree with EVERY choice he’s made for a number of reasons, I do think he’s shown that he’s much smarter than people give him credit for.

Furthermore, he’s very firm without being either too standoffish or trying too hard. One of the things I hated about his predecessor (I refuse to name him) was just how anxiety inducing and chaotic he was, something that sucks for me since I’m a very skittish person even if I try not to be.

Biden is steadfast and (media aside trying to make a conflict on him) has never made me feel like I’m on unstable ground. He’s like a rock in the storm:

Stand by him, and we’ll weather through the chaos.

7 Dragon Ball Villains that could've carried their own arc

Honorable mention, Sorbet. So I enjoy Frieza as much as the next guy, but his wacky and colorful Frieza Force is what firmly places the Namek Saga over the Cell Saga in my mind. Like they're all such memorable characters that I even like Cui ffs. However, let's be real, none of these guys could carry their own arc. At their heart, they're all followers (all except good ol' Geets). Maybe before their recruitment they had more ambition and determination, but when faced with Frieza's insurmountable power, they ultimately all bent over and bowed.

Sorbet is an odd example, because he is definitely a follower as well, although when the power vacuum that is Frieza and King Cold's death opened up, he didn't turn away. He instead took charge and kept the Planet Trade Organization afloat for DECADES, despite being a koala-man with a power level that I'm sure rivals Appule at best.

The only reason he's not on the list proper is because when we finally get to see Sorbet in action, he's trying to pass the torch back to Frieza. He still gets major points tho for leading as long as he did

Monster Beast Giran

Look, I'm not saying Giran could've carried his own saga, but if Dragon Ball had been written by a more traditional shonen mangaka instead of a gag artist, he probably would've been the Big Bad of the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament. And yes, I'm using his added characterization from filler scenes in the anime to make my point.

A milk drinking brute with a voracious appetite and a deep-seated hatred of heroes, this absolute unit was unfortunately no match for Goku in canon, but his hulking appearance and quirky personality (at least in the anime) always stuck out to me. In my generic re-write of this arc, a majorly buffed Giran faces Jackie Chun instead, and defeats him. He then faces and almost defeats Goku in the final, but Goku transforms into a real monster beast for the win, and that's that

Raditz

It says a lot about the quality of Toriyama's villains that Goku's evil brother from space is a mere speed bump on the road to the real top dog of the Saiyan Saga. This dude is so fucking sexy and such a piece of shit that I can't help but imagine what he could've gotten himself into if only he had more screentime

Staff Officer Black

I know Toriyama loves subverting expectations and that's one of the things I so greatly enjoy about Dragon Ball, but c'mon. Commander Black of the Black Ribbon Army would've been... so so sooo cool. The dude's a true believer, actually loyal to his men, and idk what Red did to become the leader over him, but he seems to have been the real brains behind the operation. Dragon Ball Online brought back Commander Red as a cyborg and all I'm asking is why not Staff Officer Black instead?

Turles

Aight so Tree of Might isn't the greatest movie, I'd even say it's mid at best, but it also has amazing ideas. The Tree of Might? Neat, inspired, scary, and also drawn from Journey to the West lore. Turles? Sexy tan Goku, what's not to like? His Crusher Corps? Don't get me started on his Crusher Corps, because they all have their own story, which was included in extraneous material, but not the movie itself.

Amond, the big guy? Yea he was an intergalactic criminal that was arrested by the Galactic Patrol until he was freed by Turles. Daiz was the Prince of the Pukimpa Dynasty that led his planet's army against Turles, but was defeated, then recruited for fighting so bravely. Cacao was a cyborg built to fight an interstellar war before he fucked off to become a bounty hunter and eventually join the Crusher Corps. Rasin and Lakasei were fossils resurrected by Turles using extract from the Tree of Might.

Fuck, Turles himself is a low-class Saiyan warrior that somehow found or stole the holy Seeds of Might, which were reserved for Kai. When I was a kid my older brother told me (read, lied to me lol) that Saiyans were all test tube babies grown from different strains and that's the difference between low medium and elite saiyans and why he and Goku are almost identical. Like, that's not true, but there's a lotta fleshing out you could do with Turles to make him and his potential saga more compelling

Demon King Dabura

Ruler of a shadowy demon realm for thousands of years with a power level that equals Perfect Cell, Demon King Dabura is also... the bitch of a tiny bitchy wizard? Yup, that's Toriyama all right.

So lemme start by saying that this guy gets so little credit he's not even in Fighterz, despite having a cool sword and a huge canon moveset. He also looks... well tbh, he doesn't look as awesome to adult me as he did to kid me, but he's still neat looking. I like his horns and his funky glamrock outfit. He also probably had his own Dabura Force filled with edgy evul henchmen (including Shula from that filler episode, who I'm pretty sure inspired Dabura's creation) that could've easily filled an entire saga.

It says a lot that Raditz isn't the lead of his saga, but imo it says way more that Toriyama created an entire evil universe opposite the regular universe ruled over by this baritone Satan and he's just a footnote. It also says a lot about Dragon Ball Heroes that instead of trying it's own thing, it digs up Toriyama's fossilized spittle and creates Mira, Towa, and Kabuto from Naruto.

Ok so I'm biased, because this flamboyant bastard is easily one of my favorite villains, and that's including everything, not just Dragon Ball or comics. He oozes so much style that I'm not even sure how you could stretch him out into an entire arc, but it doesn't matter, because he could make it work. The dude can make watching someone else shop for clothes compelling ffs, so as far as I'm concerned, Tao could've been the villain for the whole of Dragon Ball and it'd be just or almost as good as what we actually got

The game itself was interesting because the rules were the deployment zones were split to the table corners with two per player with it alternating so I had bottom left and top right corner. You would designate one as alpha and the other omega, then when deploying the unit you roll a d6 (1-3 alpha, 4-6 omega).

So for deployment, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WAS PUT ON ALPHA WITH GUILLIMAN ON OMEGA ALONE WITH SUPPRESSORS

luckily I had some units with infiltrate that I put on the side of guilliman to help him out a bit.

Meanwhile my friend had a good balance of units on each zone . ..

On turn 1 I ended up going first , which is what I wanted. I made the destroyers with dmg 6 my oath of moment target and ended up wiping it and the void dragon as my second oath target.

On his turn 1 he did some damage on my dread (6 wounds taken) and he moved his ctan void dragon and I overwatched the kratos and did 5 damage on him. And the void dragon did some damage on my ass. termies and I removed them in a way that made his charge a 12’ charge which he failed. On the other side he moved his warriors closer to guilliman.

On turn 2 I moved up more units to the objective near the alpha deployment zone for me. And had the void dragon killed through a bit of shooting and the void dragon exploded , which killed his doomsday ark and destroyed my dreadnought ;;

On the other side I went into the assault doctrine to advance and charge guilliman and the infiltrators and librarian into the warrior blob. I made the charge and spent a command point for precision on guilliman to kill the overlord. I used the emperors sword (14 a, 8, -2, 2) and ~11 attacks went through and 1 deb wound.

..THE OVERLORD SURVIVED !!

He has a 4+ invuln, 4+ fnp, 6 wounds and for 1 com point he can come back to life after being killed 💀💀

(Guilliman and the warrior/overlord were tied in combat for 4 turns in total lmaoo)

By turn 3 we were trading units, with him taking more losses than me but in points it was going 9 for me and 17 for him. It was so over for me, or rather I thought it was lost.

However on turn 4 THINGS TURNED

At this point I was able to move most of my units from alpha deployment into 3 objectives and guilliman and his group killing enough to out compete the warrior oc for that obj. So in primaries I scored max and in secondaries I got investigate signals and assassinate, AND I SCORED MAX FOR THAT TOO BRINGING ME UP 30 POINTS

at that point it was going like 43 to 31 in my favor with him having less and less units on objs.

We stopped at the top of turn 5 with me having units on 4 in of the 5 objs, the overlord finally dying , and him having only 2 units left. It was a pretty fun game that I couldn’t have guessed to have ended with me winning pretty good at the start with it going like 60-something to 30-something in my favor.

I typically play black templar with heavy emphasis on melee so it was diff playing primarily shooting and using librarians for once loll.

Hive Fleet Update! (Projects and Paints)

Dissertations are tough. They kind of mean I only get to bit and bob at things when I get the chance. Still I did get some painting done, some models built, and 2 kitbashes (no paint) done this year. I also have a better organized list of units and models to get so I'm not buying everything my poor executive function gets it grubby eyes on.

So first up some paint!

I've gotten a 10 unit squad of Termies and 5 Genestealer finished (not pictures).

Probably going to go a bit easier on the spotting for the rest of the batch (about 50 primed and needing paint) so I can use these guys as unit "leaders." I also have a pack of hormagaunts primed and based needing to be painted as well/

On to the thing I feel I have time for: Kitbashing. (I know I can paint, but I don't get the same feeling of accomplishments as I do with smooshing units together) I've kind of come to a decision I'm bashing to make the Dr. Moreau ideas more aligned with a "Daughters of Norn" concept. Think corrupted Terrans from Starcraft but 40k. Lots of biomechas honestly, with a wee bit body horror.

First is the a Flesh Eater Court Termie. Spine Fists + Basic Ghoul body. I need to Green Stuff the arms a bit more, but he is together and is one of my favorites for how simply he was to make. I have an idea that it's akin to the Arco-Flaggelent, but I need to get more Hormigants to make it closer to the original unit in Sisters.

Next is my Corrupted Moren Val / Paragon Warrior. Necropolis Stalker + Tyranid Warriors. The "control arms" are custom made out of spine fists and rippers, and of course the head is GSC Reductus Saboteur. Not sure if I'll make more or not, but she definitely need mold line removal and paint.

Final one is a Neurotyrant / Corrupted Celestine. It's Lady Olynder + Psychoge base with a Neurotyrant Arms. I really life how this one turned out, but its currently curing.

2024 / Future Projects

Thanks to my fancy list I have new projects planned for next year.

I have a Sylvaneth Vanguard Box incoming to try and more more "Biomecha" units. More info on that later.

First is converting a Lady of Vines into a Deathleaper. I have the Lady of Vines form a deal earlier this year, I just need to source some Lictor parts to finish the conversion (with "driver" in chest). figured this could also double as a Moren Val since the Paragon Warrior is a weee bit smaller than Val's actual base (50 instead of 60).

Converting Drycha (have one) into an Ol' One Eye. She is the right size, and there are already some easy fits for the claws and shell. Feels like the perfect unit for the Biomecha theme.

And that's about it for updates. The goal is to focus on Sylvaneth conversion for this year. If I finish those I have plans to dip into Daughters of Khaine to turn the Khinerai into specialized Gargoyls, the Medusai into Ravengers, and maybe a Morathi into a Trygon. But those are super hella long term plans, esp. since I still need to paint my gaunts and Leviathan Box.

Fixation Central

Anyone who follows my blog knows I am auDHD and I fixate extremely fast. I am constantly frothing at the mouth with how much I adore certain fandoms. Most of what I'm into right now is superhero cartoons, but my journey with two of my first ever fandoms: Scooby Doo and Harry Potter.

I've 'left' Harry Potter, but that's because I made my own canon lmao. Or attempted to, at least-

It has long since branched off and my honorary fixations include Gravity Falls, Warrior Cats, PJO, and Doctor Who. And yes, I did also have problematic fixations - let yourself be cringe; if you want to enjoy DSMP, Homestuck, ATLA, or anything in between - do it. I was only part of one of these though. All fandoms have their toxicity, and in the end... make your own fucking canon. Problem solved.

Though, now... it's time to talk about what I like now and the ones I never truly left so without much further ado - let's get on with it!

Gravity Falls (joined the fandom late, ended up being the creator of multiple original AU's and adored the Pines family dynamics; would've wanted to see something actually used with the Cipher/Zodiac Wheel)

The four of us ended up outside a storage unit in the middle of the woods. Marcel had even joined us in search of Cami and the stake. Nik grabbed a tree cutting it in half making his own makeshift stake for his father before we told the others to wait outside and we went inside together. Rounding the corner I gasped in honor seeing Mikael holding a bleeding and weak Cami against his chest with the stake to her throat. “You're gonna pay for hurting her.”

Mikael carelessly lets go of Cami and drops her to the floor. “Aw, how sweet. The cur whines for its bitch. I'll be sure to drain the rest of her right in front of your eyes, just before you burn.”

“We killed you once, Mikael. And we can do it again.” I threatened showing him my fangs.

He smirked, pointing the stake at me. “So you’ve turned that abomination of a witch, boy. Must you keep making others suffer through your torture.”

Nik launched up into the air and tackles Mikael onto the ground. Mikael attempts to stab him with the stake but he holds it away from his heart grunting. The pair keep fighting until they ran through a wall. Vamping to Cami’s body I could hear her heartbeat still thankfully. She slowly woke up when I called her name. “Cami, Cami, wake up.”

“Rae…” She gasped.

“Not as weak as you remember, am I, - Raelyn!” Nik shouted before I heard something was flying at Cami’s face. It was the hook blade where I raised my hand quickly snatching it before it could hit her.

Mikael suddenly caught Nik by his arm holding the stake, bending it backward and shoving it into his heart. “Nik….ahhh!” I screamed clutching my heart inside my chest collapsing onto my knees feeling the stake inside my heart too.

“No!” Cami screamed running forward to grab Mikael but he slapped her in the face.

Nik dropped onto the ground and I began panicking seeing his body covered in veins like when Stefan and Damon meant to kill him. Mikael stood over him waiting for him to burst into flames but he didn’t. “Why aren't you burning? If you were dead, it would burn. BURN!”

“Davina…” I mumbled under my breath hearing chanting from somewhere else.

Mikael managed to find her. “Is this your doing, little witch? Then, you will undo it! Return the power to the stake!”

Holding my heart I groaned, feeling weaker by the minute seeing my brother running inside grabbing my shoulder scared. “Rae, are you okay?”

“Jacob, get out of here. He will kill you.” I warned him not to expect him to come in here like this. I wouldn’t let Mikael kill him.

Mikael came back into where we we’re seeing my brother and I then his gaze shifted to Cami. “What do you think you're doing?”

Cami sits up and holds the stake in front of her. “Stay the hell away from us! Or, I swear to God, I'll kill you myself.”

Mikael was mildly impressed. “You have a warrior's heart. Perhaps I'll keep it as a souvenir.”

“Jacob, run…” I gasped in relief once Cami had yanked the stake out of Nik’s chest.

My twin didn’t move which made Mikael vamp forward snatching him and sinking his fangs into his neck. I almost froze in my place seeing him nearly drain him dry to the point of death. Forcing myself to my feet I raised a hand towards the vampire hunter. “Tenebris anima vestra contundito mortem et conteret spiritum. Frange vitam nolite corde ut sub terra esse, ad tenebras usque in sempiternum -argh!” I grunt when Mikael vamped forward throwing me onto my back heading to kill Cami until Marcel came into the room fighting some punches with him before he got knocked down too.

Mikael pointed the wooden stake Klaus had made at Marcel. “Now, ENOUGH! This night has been a long parade of fools. I'll enjoy klling every last one of you.”

Nik gasped quickly, waking up the second before Hayley vamped inside wrapping some chains around his neck, knocking the original onto his back. “Yeah, I wouldn't bet on it.”

Moving over to Nik I grasped his forearm in mine needing him for balance even though I was a vampire. The stake had really drained me this time. “It's over, Mikael. You're outnumbered. Are you going to beg for your miserable life?” Everyone else joins our sides smirking at Mikael ready to fight.

Mikael laughs at us. “You think having people makes you strong? It proves how weak you are. Come find me when you don't have fools, women and children fighting your battles.” He vamped away and no one dared to follow him.

Slumping my shoulders in relief once he was gone I noticed my brother laying on the ground bleeding harshly. Vamping over to him I grabbed his hands in mine remembering a healing spell. “Asinta mulaf hinto.”

He gasped where I saw the wound was slowly healing but his heart was slowly beating. “Rae…”

“Sssh don’t talk, J. Just drink this. It’s a lot faster.” Biting down on my wrist I drew some blood shoving it against his mouth. He slowly drank it seeing his wound and heart returning to normal where I sighed closing my eyes performing a sleep spell and transporting him to Cami’s house for safety. “Ad somnum…forgive me Jacob.”

Rising to my feet I walked over to Nik who was checking out Cami. He had a hole in his chest where he was bleeding from the stake. “You pulled the stake out in the nick of time. A moment longer, and I would have been done for….including Raelyn for that matter.”

Cami responded by placing her hand over the wound. “It's the least I could do for telling you not to kill that bastard the first chance you had.”

He whispered, touching the wound on her neck. “Well, he hurt you. For that alone, I will kill him. (You know, in a thousand years, I think it's the first time I've seen him run.”

Cami breathed out. “He was still weak.”

Hayley approaches us with Marcel. “And, he knew he was outmatched.”

Marcel looked around when I sighed running my fingers through my hair. “We checked the perimeter, and he's definitely gone.”

Nik smiled rising to his feet wrapping an arm around my waist seeing me sway on my feet. “I appreciate your assistance.”

Marcel smiled at him. “Well, hey! You die, I die. Just call me selfish.” Laying my head against Nik’s chest he picked me up bridal style with me, wrapping my arms around his neck. I slept in his arms.

The few days led up to Hayley wanting to make peace between the werewolves and the vampires. Laying on Nik’s bed my entire body was feeling drained still but I had completely healed. Getting up from the bed I used the bathroom seeing blood in the toilet. “You’ve got to be kidding me!” I grumbled under my breath feeling some pain in my stomach.

“Rae, what’s wrong?” Nik vamped into the room placing a hand on my back.

Sniffing through tears I began putting the pieces together. It had been awhile after the girls were born but I honestly thought it was possible to have my period anymore since I was a vampire. “I didn’t puke up that blood like before. It came back…”

“What came back, exactly?” He raised a brow at me.

Shifting my gaze up to his I bite my lip figuring he would be weirded out by what I was about to say. “My period, Nik. Apparently since I can have magical children because of your mother’s dark magic in my blood it makes me still have the freaking monthly mess.”

“Oh my siphon queen, come here.” He opened his arms for me, picking me up again carrying me back to the bed, laying down with me for a few hours until I heard Finn’s voice downstairs, which wasn’t good.

Vamping downstairs even though I felt lazy I held onto the wall for balance over the pain glaring at him. “What the hell are you doing here!”

“You’ll see soon enough, Raelyn.” He declares.

Marcel stepped over to me eyeing me up and down not finding any wounds on me. “Raelyn, where exactly are you bleeding from? Cause I can smell it I just can’t find it.”

“I see you're brokering a truce between mongrels and parasites! And just how long do you think that's really going to last? A month? A week? A day? What you don't yet seem to understand is that the only thing that can exist between your two degenerate species is hatred, war, and death.” Finn slowly backs away as he talks, until he is technically outside of the compound. Where he slams his hand against the doorway of the entrance, the entire building shakes. “But, I imagine, given a little time confined together, you'll come to see things the way I do.”

Klaus is in his bedroom, where he tests the spell against the balcony. His hand burns as well, and after a moment, he yanks his hand away from the barrier. “Raelyn!”

Kol joins us, looking frantic.

“Did he really just trap us all in here?”

Nik responded, getting in his face. “He certainly did. Which means we have a witch problem. You're a witch. Fix it.”

Kol shouts back when he tries to leave the room.“And what the bloody hell do you want me to do about it?”

“Well, considering the crowd, I think you'll be more motivated to find a solution. After all, I can easily out-wait our brother's antics. You, on the other hand, might find yourself looking rather appetizing to some of our fellow prisoners.” Nik snapped back at him, glancing over to me. “

Kol looks panicked and reconsiders. “I'm gonna need some help.” It was a few moments before I followed him downstairs I noticed Davina walked up about to touch the barrier until he stopped her. “Careful, careful! It's nasty. Pretty girl to the rescue, eh? You ready?”

Crossing my arms over my chest I watched the pair place their hands up against each other attempting to undo the spell but they jumped backwards. “I assume that means we can leave.” Nik appeared beside me about to step up.

“Vincent's boundary is too strong. “ Kol said.

Snapping my fingers feeling a burning in my throat when someone was coming around the corner and I gasped vamping up remaining at the edge of the barrier. “Jacob….you have to go. It’s too dangerous here.”

“You put me in a sleep spell for days, Rae!” He raised his voice clearly angry at me.

“J, listen you can be furious with me later. But now you really really have to go.” My fangs popped out and I felt the veins coming out from under my eyes.

Davina glanced between us. “Hold up, Raelyn is this your brother. And he’s a siphon like you.”

“Yeah I am. Why, what’s going on?” He asked the harvest girl, confused.

She raised her hands up against the barrier giving him and I instructions on what we could do to help them get us all out of here before we tear one another apart. “You two can help us by siphoning the spell away long enough to get everyone out. Just place your hands up against mine so you don’t get burned. Raelyn, you follow Kol on the other side.”

“Okay, okay. Let’s go tell Nik.” Glancing over my shoulder some of the vampires were coming closer to me where I knew they could smell the blood from my period so I vamped upstairs before they could get any closer.

Nik came into the room placing a hand on my shoulder seeing the terror on my face. “Rae, what’s wrong love.”

“We need to get out of here before Marcel and his newbie vampires tear me to shreds.” Locking my gaze with his, he pulled me into his chest before Kol entered the room. “They can smell my month's blood, Nik. They will try to kill me regardless of being a vampire myself and I can’t be around Jacob because the hunger is driving me crazy…I’m scared.”

“What Davina, and I can do is cast a destruction spell. It would temporarily neutralize all magical objects in the compound, including the compound itself. If it works, well, then it will give us sixty seconds to escape whilst the boundary is shut down.” Kol explained looking in my direction. “Raelyn and Jacob can siphon it alongside us but there’s no guarantee that the spell will break. All they can do right now is help us do this spell.”

Marcel nodded about to leave. “Alright, alright, that sounds good to me.”

Nik sat down at the head of the table with his hands clasped together. “If the spell works, it will suppress all magical objects in the vicinity. That means your rings.”

Marcel groans in frustration. “And if we go outside in the sun without our rings, we're dead.”

Klaus pointed out. “Unless you wait for nightfall.”

“Agh.”He looks out toward the courtyard where the vampires are hanging out. “They're also new. They're not going to be able to fight the hunger. We can't wait until nightfall. We're going to have a bloodbath on our hands before we even get close.”

Hitting my hands on the table I raised my voice towards him and moaned when I felt some cramps shoot throughout my stomach. “It’s either we do this or we let Finn win and right now I am resting the urge to fight against the barrier and drain my twin brother. So I don’t care if they are newbie vamps. We are doing this!”

Kol and I were back with the pair placing our hands over the barrier once again. Closing my eyes I couldn’t look at my brother because all I could hear was his blood running through his veins. Whipping my head around I heard some of the wolves and vamps fighting with Klaus and Marcel having to hold them back. Mine and Jaocb’s hand turned red following their chant before Kol and Davina actually touched hands. Everyone that was a wolf ran outside but when Kol tried to run Nik grabbed him by his jacket throwing him backwards. “Slight change of plans, brother. I no longer have to treat you as anything but the treacherous liar that you truly are.”

Kol asked on his back with me vamping over the line beside Nik. “What the bloody hell?”

Klaus asked his brother. “Where is she?”

Kol looks backward at the vampires, who are looking at him hungrily but cannot lunge for him while their daylight rings are neutralized. “Please! They'll kill him!”

Nik snarled at him not caring about the vampires behind him. “Well, he should have thought about that before he betrayed our sister! Rebekah never made it to her new body, did she? And, seeing as you cast the spell and, well, you're you, I'd hardly call it an uncrackable case!”

“Rebekah's fine, Nik!” He angrily starts to walk toward him. Cutting himself off when he burned his hand. “It was a prank, nothing more than anything you lot have done to me, but I bet it's different when it's one of y... aah!”

Nik smirks, raising his tone of voice at him grabbing my hand in his. “Oooh. Barrier's back up. And those vampires look oh-so hungry. Now, I was willing to welcome you back in my home! But you had to return to your petty, selfish jealousies! Well, let's see how well they help you survive when you're stuck in there!”

“Nik, we can’t just-“ I cut myself short eyeing my brother and the vein on his neck before I vamped away from him and into an empty alleyway. Covering my face in my hands I heard someone vamp beside me where I saw Nik standing above me with a blood bag in his hands.

He bent down on a knee cradling my face in his pa holding it out for me to take it. "Here I managed to hide this from the others before we left the compound."

"No. You take it." I shook my head baring my teeth together, bending my head into my knees feeling another wave of cramps where I honestly missed being pregnant for a brief moment.

He raised a brow at me pushing the open bag up to my lips seeing the veins appearing instantly. "Take it, Rae. You need it more than I."

"What about you though?" I barked back clutching the bag in my fingers knowing I would drink it dry.

His blue eyes met mine pressing his forehead against mine briefly drawing back. "I'll be fine, darling. I have a stronger tolerance than you, sweetheart. Go on, have at it, every drop."

"I almost killed my brother, Nik…I wanted to drink his blood…my twin brother. What should I do?" Shifting my gaze to the bag I drained it within seconds tossing it away flinging my arms around his neck crying into his shoulder.

He moves one arm underneath my legs and the other under my back lifting me up where he rose to his feet. "We will figure that out another day, little Heretic. Now we are going to see our daughters, all three of them." He kissed the crown of my head vaming us somewhere out of the city knowing his chair was near the city limits.

FAQ: Warhammer

I have quite a few asks regarding the good ol' plastic crack hobby so I aim to answer a few of those with this post! And for those unaware of Warhammer in general, maybe this can help you get interested in it!

As much as I've grown to love Fantasy/Age of Sigmar, 40k hands down. I've always been more of a scifi guy, but I can't deny fantasy has some damn cool characters/models.

Favorite Faction:

The Farsight Enclaves

Farsight Enclaves are why I fell in love with 40k to begin with, but the battlesuits they have also play a major role in why I like them.

While every faction's perspective is basically fighting through a heavy metal album, the Enclaves perspective is basically going through Attack on Titan in space. Them being the only real good guys makes it super fun and engaging to read about them. Which leads me into my favorite unit:

Commander Farsight

He's basically a Gundam character in the complete wrong setting. He's Char without the horrible attributes that make him evil.

Farsight is also my favorite character in Warhammer, and HE is why I love 40k so much. Piloting a mech suit with a sword fighting impossible odds is the coolest fucking thing in the world. That and his novels made me love him too.

I also managed to get his new model and it is absolutely GORGEOUS

Below the cut are honorable mentions to other factions I like from 40k and Fantasy.

Space Marines - Primaris Intercessor

Space Marines are my main faction in 40k funnily enough. But as for favorite, the humble Intercessor. Specifically the Assault variant but I do enjoy the basic rank and file trooper.

Something about the design (mostly the helmet) I adore and its simplicity, this massive hulk of armor imposing such a menacing aura.

Until I get Primaris Jump Pack marines, these guys will probably stay as my favorite.

Tyranids - Hive Tyrant

2nd favorite faction behind Enclaves. Space bugs from beyond the Milky Way are cool as hell and being able to field never ending swarms of Kaijus is the dopest thing.

No matter the list for 'Nids, if I can, I'm taking a Hive Tyrant. The big bad boss battle of the Hive Fleet leading the lesser bio-forms to consume. Whether its him or the Swarmlord, his model is the most intimidating on the board, even next to the big boys like Trygons or Carnifexes.

That and every single game I've fielded him, he has absolutely carried so I'm a bit biased. Bonus points for being so customizable too.

Massive MASSIVE shotout to the Parasite of Mortrex for being a cool tyranid too.

T'au Empire - XV8 Crisis Battlesuit

It's a 40K Mobile Suit. Thats why I love it.

As for gameplay, Its high customization, reliability, durability, adaptibility, and speed is why I love it. Crisis Suits have always jumped into the fray with my Commanders and always turned the game around.

Love 'em.

Slaves to Darkness - Chaos Chosen

Evil bad guys rocking in armor blessed by their dark gods, wielding weapons called "Soul-Splitters". Don't think I need to explain why I think they're cool.

They've completely mopped armies aside for me ingame, I could not ask for a better """"rank and file"'"" trooper in my army.

Hosts of the Everchosen subfaction makes these guys Battleline by the way. Fucking horrifying.

Blades of Khorne - Mighty Skullcrushers

Heavily armored warriors of the blood god trampling everyone underneath them in pissed off daemonic rhinos clad in 50 tonka trucks worth of armor. Again, don't need to explain why I think they're cool.

Thanks to the new battletome, they are an absolute bitch to get rid of and they actually hit like a freight train as they always should have. I have an army of only them, and of course my general is just a suped up version of them.

Best khorne unit aesthetically, and I will fight you on that. And fight you in general because Khorne.

Skaven - Stormfiend

Giant rat ogre super soldiers equipped with flamethrowers, gas bombs, miniguns, and more. All piloted by a big brain rat on their back connected to the ogre. Epitome of mad rat engineering and showcase what I love about Skaven the most, specifically Clan Skryre.

Skaven is actually my favorite faction in Fantasy/AOS.

Tabletop wise, they're okay but they always die first since everyone and their mothers charge and try to kill it turn 1...Which I mean, fair. The times theyre left alone and get to do whatever is usually their last time before my opponent guns it for them instantly after 1 round of their combat.

Just wish their points went down so I can field more without them taking up half my army.

The Overdue Sunday Breakdown

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS. Also, long post is long.

With Sunday having been a big show (having been both the Last Tournament of 9th, as well as likely the Last 1000 Point Tournament), I knew I had to go out with a bang. Enter: The last dataslate, which gave Broadsides back Core, for some godforsaken reason, and the prompt for this army: “Hey, what if I gave broadsides full rerolls? Wouldn’t that be fucked up?”

The army list breakdown:

1x Ethereal on Hover Drone. This guy served as a utility workhorse, allowing me a fast-moving infantry option to score secondaries if necessary, while, in the early game, allowing me to buff the Broadside Brick with a 5+++, -1 to hit if they moved, the ability to perform actions and shoot, and sharing his Leadership if I happened to run into a morale bomb. He also had the Exemplar of the Mont’ka (buff a Core unit to re-roll all wounds on the closest target in 9″, 12″ if I chose Mont’ka), which was only relevant like. Once.

1x Shadowsun with drone suite - The Queen of the Kauyon, the main combo maker that I purchased and painted solely to hand out a full “reroll all hit rolls” to the Broadside brick. Also shares in the Ethereal’s duty of “being very fast and an infantry unit who can score” while lacking the vulnerability of the ethereal due to her guardian drone’s “You can’t shoot her unless she’s the closest visible target”.

1x3 Broadsides with High Yield Missile Pods, Smart Missile Systems, 4x Marker Drones, 2x Shield Drones, Advanced Targeting Systems - The other half of the combo brick. A withering 48 shots, 24 at S;7 AP;2 D:2 and the other 24 at S:5 AP:0 D:1 with “ignore light cover” and “indirect fire”, wrapped up in a lovely package with 8 ablative wounds and “hit rolls of 6 auto hit”

And finally, 1x2 Hammerheads with Accelerator Bursts and Railguns, because I was determined to turn this game store into a salt mine.

So, how’d I do? Well - I won, but not as hard as you might think. I’ll talk about the games first and see if you can figure out what happened here as I go.

Game 1 was against a World Eaters player with Lord Invocatus, a squad of Beserkers, and 2 squads of Eightbound with an Exalted Eightbound squad to cap them out. He didn’t deepstrike anything (I’m....really not sure why), and soft-conceded after round 2 when I’d shot everything meaningful off the board. We played until the end, but there was a lot of complaining about how broken my army was while I plonked him down.

Once Kauyon came on on turn 3, it was over, and I was able to move across the board and score my remaining goals.

My next opponent was a Thousand Sons “soup” player, in quotes because his “soup” was a Knight Abominant.

Nice score.

This one was tougher as our map was definitely more LOS blocking, but I pushed into the middle early with Mont’ka allowing me to move and shoot without penalty and - once again -blowing everything off the board by turn 3.

The highlight was his Abominant running up to my Hammerhead on the hill there, before unceremoniously getting his dome chrome’d in close-quarters carnage, exploding over everything and wiping out half of our armies.

Top ten pictures taken seconds before disaster

Game three was versus a mini Silver Tide Necrons player, with a 20x warrior blob, a reanimator, a technomancer, an orb overlord, some scarabs and a smattering of destroyers of various flavors. This was a final quick fun romp where we bantered for most of the game before closing out again at the bottom of 3.

So, after a long day, herein lies my issue that you may have noticed:

Tau secondaries? SUCK. Real bad!

For those who haven’t had the privilege of enduring T’au yet, there are two things at play here:

Firstly is Philosophies of War. This is our army rule, and essentially is “on rounds 1-3 OR 3-5 you get one of two effects, you choose”.

Secondly is how our secondaries INTERACT with Philosophies of War. Of our 3 for Arks, 2 of them are only scoreable on the rounds we’re benefiting from PoW. A Clean VIctory is “Score 1 point if you kill one enemy unit, 3 points if you kill 3 or more for a total of 4/round”, and Decisive Action is “Score 4 points if you hold half or more of the objectives on the map at the end of the turn”. (The 3rd, Aerospace Targeting Relays, is “score 2/6/9/15 points by doing an action at the midpoint of table edges“, but that was flatly very difficult to do with this list).

Overall, this means that for most Tau lists (and especially this one), we have to rely a lot more on generic secondaries, which are usually pretty rough to score on. As such, my “perfect games” where I was tabling my opponent by turn 3 at the latest still had me scoring relatively low - 70 points at most - which is definitely a good score, but nowhere near what I ““should have”“ scored.

That’s mostly just whingeing on my part, though - overall, I’m hopeful that 10th will 1. make this steaming pile of crap impossible to run and alphastrike everything off the board, and 2. be a bit more lenient with secondaries for scoring.

Ah man, I've been meaning to do some stuff with these two for awhile now NGL! But some of my other projects have been getting in the way. I guess I can share some of my future plans with them (IDK when or if I'll get to them, but yknow):

Make a Saga/Shaka sculpting work in a similar style I did with AldeMu. Or seek out another inspiration for these two (currently there's a Hades/Kanon project in the works.); Decide if these two will get an acrylic stand in the future. They are DEFINETELY in my pool of options for my next order (depending on how things go down, I will try to get some more as christmas gifts for me.); Make a post-ND ending inspired comic of these two, in a similar vein as the one I did for AldeMu. I've been getting some ideas and thoughts.

M - Do you imagine your ship entering a long-term relationship? Why or why not?

There's one item from my to-do list above, that I saved for this answer LOL.

I've been meaning to put some work into my Omega's future AU for the golds. This includes, Shaka and Saga. Who are definetely together, in this plot. IDK exactly how I'll go about it, but I really want to draw these two in their 40s, no longer officially serving as warriors to Athena's army. BUT STILL, finding themselves caught up with the mess. The fact they make it to Omega's setting (which is 25 years after the classic series' events), should answer this question.

Observations and other stuff below:

First off, Lord! I mentioned this in one of the earlier reblogs, but it amuses me that this is the least picked option, since you typically only get one or two of these per run, for obvious reasons. It didn't even hit 2% until the last couple hours! Fitting, that we only got a handful of Protagonists™.

Second, we have Mercenary/Cavalier/Knight. A couple of people commented that it should've been Myrmidon instead of Mercenary and... you're right, lmao. I was looking at a list of classes from the first game when making the list, saw Myrmidon, and wrote down Mercenary. They're essentially the same class these days, so no harm done, but that was a goof on my part. I kinda expected these three to be on the low end because they're kind of generic, but this comment made me laugh:

To be fair, in most runs you only really need one, maybe two Armored units. They're for setting up chokepoints, and you're rarely going to be utilizing more than one at a time.

Next up, we have Archer/Warrior/Dancer/Thief. Warrior I expected to be with the last group, but I guess it's more popular because the people love Big Axes? Archer is also more generic but TBH it would've been my second choice after Pegasus/Falcon/(Dark Flier), because I DO think bows are cool. Especially in games where there's one specific bow/skill that has like 5 Range and shitawful accuracy. Two comments from this section made me laugh:

1: i am this player. i feed undeserved kills to my thieves all the time in the hopes that they will metamorphosize into Something Good. Occasionally it works!

2: how dare you be funnier than me on my own post etc etc

Next, we have Pegasus Knight! I'm not sure if it got more votes because people think flying is cool, or people choosing it because Gender Validation, or because it's the closest thing to Wyvern Rider on this list? I didn't officially group them because they have a different vibe entirely, and, barring exceptions like Jill in PoR, usually have different stat focuses, being more Strength/Axe focused instead of Speed/Lance.

Coming in Second Place, we have Clerics! It's to be expected, really, because this is the most versatile class on the board. Every game gives you a healer, but every game also has completely fucking different ideas about what that healer should promote into. Should they branch out into magic? Should they get on a horse? Should they learn to punch people in the face? The world is their oyster.

And in First Place, by a landslide, we have Mages. We have so many fucking mages. Frankly, I didn't expect this to win by so much?? I know it can do magic, but in most FE settings magic is less something that's mysterious and more "some people have a better aptitude for throwing fireballs". Or, well, I was wondering why it had such a big lead, until I read this comment:

Special mention goes to the Other tag - Some of these were popular enough that I wish I could've included in the main poll, ie: Mage Knight, but tumblr only has 12 options. 15 would've made things much easier.

Of those, Mage Knight was the most popular, assuming you count ALL of the Swords/Magic classes together. IE: Dread Fighter (Awakening), Mortal Savant, Priestess, Tactician, etc. I saw one person voting for Basara, which is apparently Lances/Magic, which is... kind of similar? Similar enough that I'm counting it, at least.

Infantry Lances got passed over because even if Halberdiers are cool and I like them, it was basically tradition in FE to give you a red cav and a green cav for ages, so they're the more iconic "lance" class.

Most of the rest of the Other Votes were all classes that exist pretty much exist solely in Fates - Maid, Malig Knight, Mechanist, etc. - because despite Fates' overall bad writing, no one can say that it's lacking in class variety.

I'm also highlighting this comment for the same reason I found it funny that Lord was the least voted for:

You get one (1) dragon per game!! Way too niche for me to make it an option, but it is technically a class as well as a race, and I kind of hoped someone would pick it.

I share with each of you a very personal story about my dear “hippie sister,” Helena.  It is shared with permission and deep respect for her courageous journey! She is a true warrior (of love).

A Legacy of Love – Helena’s Story

I felt a stirring of emotion as my thoughts went to Helena, a student of mine who is in stage four cancer. Because I am a firm believer in following through on Universal nudges, I sent a text of inquiry. A simple, “How are you doing? May I come visit you?” Her raw and truthful response flashed onto my cellphone screen,

“Love is what we need. My husband is sad, my kids, too. And like the song, I need a friend. Thank you.”

In the pit of my stomach were the butterflies that come in those character defining moments. Having a desk piled high with things to do and follow-up requiring my attention, I asked myself, what is more important? Tackling the “to do” list or clearing the calendar to hold a friend’s hand? Turning to Kim, we locked tear-filled eyes and nodded in agreement that making the three-and-a-half-hour drive to Delray Beach is more important.

The next morning, I buckled up, pushed the OnStar button, and drove, finding myself reflecting on special moments spent with Helena during the training just four short years ago. I remembered that she could barely feel her feet due to the medications ingested yet, she enthusiastically lead a Zumba class. How when she went for one of her chemotherapy treatments, there was a child without the proper funds to get theirs so she forewent hers to allow the child theirs.

Upon arrival, after receiving a warm hug and enormous smile, my senses are filled with the beauty that surrounded her. There was ambient music, a white candle lit for the souls that have gone before her, the walls covered with art, mostly painted by Helena herself. Ocean scenes as they are her favorite. And the smell of homemade Columbian chicken soup!

Helena in a weakened state, invites me to sit down to enjoy a bowl of soup. She tells me that the soup is simple, and that she hopes I will like it. Gingerly carrying the bowl to the table, I notice that each piece of chicken is cut into thoughtful little bits, all the same exact measure. The boiled potatoes, sliced immaculately, and laid in the bottom of the bowl, in what one might say with the hands of a master. I’m going to say with the hands of pure love.

Love and Legends Helena

We sat at that table together while I consumed soup and stories. It began with her talking in a soft whisper, as her husband was within earshot. She leaned in and began telling me how heart-wrenching it is to listen to her husband’s weeping in a neighboring room when he thinks she is sleeping. What a horrific experience it was to lose 50 units of blood in a surgery to save her life.

How intense the leg and back pain are most likely from the tumor pressing onto a nerve. And that no pain medicine works for her because her body violently reacts, causing her to vomit all through the night, leaving her 95 pound body, tired and frail.

Once the sadness was spoken she turned her attention to recounting the beautiful stories of her twenty years spent in Columbia working to save the children. Passionately describing her days finding families for the children needing to be adopted. Story after story, word after word, my respect for her courage, commitment, faith, and fortitude, grew!

As I began to wrap up the visit, we hugged and looked deeply into each others eyes. Sharing that if that day was our last day, we’d each remember the other and that I’d look to the sky for the brightest star, “The hippy sister star.”

Sliding back into the seat of my car, no music played, only the sound of the wheels on pavement. The two hours spent with Helena going through my mind. The visit was intended to provide comfort. Merlin (2008)

- No sex scenes in the entire series

Reasons I liked:

- its gay (in my heart and in the magic metaphor)

- slow burn enemies to best friends (to lovers /j)

- kinda spooky sometimes ??

- homophobic (magic metaphor) dad gets what he deserves 

Criminal Minds (2005)

[if you're looking for an episodic investigative type show with a much more funny and light-hearted tone that also has an autistic coded main character with the name Spencer (insert doofenshmirtz nickel meme here), Psych is pretty great]

- many episodes revolve around sex related crimes but these can be easily skipped over without missing many plot details

- some implied scenes where people have sex- characters kissing very passionately -but there are few and can be easily skipped over without missing many plot details

Reasons I liked:

- its an anthology (I love anthologies)

- good actors playing interesting characters

- spencer reid is asexual and no one can convince me otherwise

- steven is the sweetest person on the planet

- Infinity Train 

(highly recommend, it’s underrated)
