What are Dreams?!
Accordingly, to the most accepted theory, dreams are a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. They can be influenced by a person's memories, emotions, and experiences, and can be vivid and realistic or abstract and surreal. The function and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, but theories suggest they may play a role in processing and consolidating memories, regulating emotions, and problem-solving.
Tumblr media
In some spiritual or mystical beliefs, vivid dreams are thought to have a deeper significance or meaning beyond the subconscious mind. They may be interpreted as messages from a higher power or the universe, or as a way to connect with a spiritual realm.
In traditional indigenous cultures, dreamtime is a sacred state in which the dreamer can communicate with the spirit world, receive guidance and healing, and gain knowledge about the past, present, and future. In some spiritual practices, lucid dreaming or dream control is used as a tool for self-discovery and spiritual growth.
In some Abrahamic religions, dreams are seen as a way that God or a higher power can communicate with individuals, providing guidance, warnings, or revelations.
It's worth noting that these are just a few examples, and different cultures and belief systems have their own unique interpretations of the meaning and significance of dreams.
Tumblr media
Some people may try to integrate science and spirituality in their personal beliefs, drawing on elements from both to create a unique worldview. Some new religious movements or spiritual practices may also incorporate scientific ideas or methods.
However, it's worth noting that science and spirituality are two distinct ways of understanding and explaining the world, with their own methods, principles and goals. Science relies on empirical evidence and logical reasoning, while spirituality often relies on faith and personal experience. The two can be complementary, but sometimes they can also be in conflict.
Some people argue that science and spirituality can be integrated by recognizing that science explains the natural world and spirituality explains the meaning and purpose of life. Others argue that a new type of religion that combines science and spirituality could be created, but it would have to be based on a common ground, understanding and respect for the different ways of knowing.
It's also worth noting that some scientists, as well as some spiritual leaders, may disagree with the idea of combining science and spirituality, as they see them as fundamentally incompatible.

Hey everyone! It’s 10 days until Christmas and I wanted to share some more of the books I’ve been meaning to read. Today I wanted to feature 3 books that talk about new religious movements, such as the People’s Temple from which we get Jonestown. These are books I’ve read excerpts on and yet I would love to get a better insight on their overall works in the subject of religions, especially since I want to study American religious cultures and these books identify important moments in American religious history. They are: 1. New Age, Neopagan, & New Religious Movements by Hugh B. Urban 2. Controversial New Religions edited by James R. Lewis and Jesper Aa. Petersen (2nd edition) 3. Imagining Religion by Jonathan Z. Smith These books are so dope from just the little bit that I’ve read, and I highly recommend that everyone be willing to open their minds to new perspectives on NRMs, but I would like to give these books a full read before officially recommending them, I admit. Either way, have a great day everyone. #bookstagram #book #books #booklover #bookaddict #christmas #christmastime #christmasmood #christmasgifts #merrychristmas #happyholidays #hughburban #jamesrlewis #jesperaapetersen #jonathanzsmith #newreligiousmovements #religiousstudies #religiousstudiesnerd #religiousstudiesnerds #religiousstudiesforeveryone #religiousstudiesdegree https://www.instagram.com/p/CmOBzzkOyrX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Heresy of the “Grace Road Church” of Korea
By Author Eli Kittim 🎓
A Cult Movement
According to Wiki,
The Grace Road Church is a South Korean
quasi-Christian new religious movement
and cult (although its members call it a
Church) founded in 2002.
This so-called “church” is currently based in Fiji. It moved there because its pastor Shin Okjoo predicted a famine in Korea. This is a shrewd and calculating woman who demanded strict obedience as she seized the passports of about 400 followers so that they wouldn’t leave. Many nearby churches have hurled accusations that this is a cult movement.
The church has diversified and raised funds by opening businesses across Fiji that range from the hospitality industry to construction to agriculture. Footage has emerged of physical abuse and violence, including slave labor. In 2019, its leader Shin Okjoo was found guilty and sentenced to six years in jail.
The Grace Road Church Claims that the Holy Spirit Is a Woman & that Jesus Is Not God the Son
The Deity of the Holy Spirit
The personhood of the Holy Spirit is multiply-attested in the New Testament. There are many verses which hint at the deity of the Holy Spirit, calling Him, for example, a “person” (ἐκεῖνος, meaning “He” Jn. 16:13-14; ὁ Παράκλητος, which depicts “a person”; & ἐκεῖνος, meaning “he” Jn. 15:26). Note that the Biblical references to the Holy Spirit don’t use the feminine but rather the masculine, third-person pronoun “he.”
The Holy Spirit is also called the “eternal Spirit” (Heb. 9:14), a term that is often used interchangeably with the concept of God (1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19; Acts 5:3-4; Rom. 8:9; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21). For example, the Holy Spirit is called “Lord” in 2 Corinthians 3:17:
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Moreover, the Holy Spirit is said to have insight into “the depths of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). He also possesses knowledge (Romans 8:27). The Spirit is also said to have a personal will (1 Corinthians 12:11). He is capable of convicting the world of sin (John 16:8), and performs signs and miracles (Acts 8:39). He also guides (John 16:13) and intercedes between people (Romans 8:26). He utters commands and is also obeyed (Acts 10:19-20; 16:6). The Spirit talks (Revelation 2:7; 14:13; 22:17). He warns and prophesies of things to come (John 16:13; Acts 20:23). And the New Testament certainly depicts Him as a member of the Trinity (John 16:14; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Deity of Jesus Christ
We also have multiple texts which refer to the deity of Jesus Christ, depicting him as the Son of God, such as in Jn 1 (“the word was God”), Col. 2:9 (“in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily”), Jn 8:58 (“before Abraham was, I am”), Heb. 1.2 (God’s “Son, … through whom he also created the worlds”), Heb. 1:3 (“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact imprint of his being”), Tit. 2:13 (“our great God and Savior Jesus Christ”), as well as the explicit worship Christ willingly received from his followers (Luke 24:52; John 20:28) and the accusations of blasphemy leveled against him for equating himself with God (Mark 2:7).
Hence, the Grace Road Church’s Biblical claims that the Holy Spirit is a woman and that Jesus is not God the Son are completely bogus and misinformed!

A Prophet’s Intent
I am forging a religion.
I am dissatisfied with the religious paradigms available to me; they are either burdened by superstition or define themselves negatively in relation to mainstream religions (“we are NOT Christians, etc.).
I am dissatisfied with atheism.  It is a void. To be an atheist is to proclaim no belief, but that does not describe me.  I hold many beliefs, and I want to be defined by them not by the lack of someone else’s.
I aim to create what I want.  Follow me if you like.

Lindsey had everything she needed in Toni. A big sister, a confidant, a protector. So when Toni found a new church group, Lindsey supported her, even though the services never spoke to Lindsey personally. Slowly, she began to realise that Toni was more invested in the church than Lindsey first realised, and that the group had some strange practices and beliefs. This soon turned to true concern when Toni accepted the position of deaconess and moved into the church with her husband and child. Lindsey was patient. Never judgemental. Always kept contact and would visit unannounced. When Toni was ready to leave, Lindsey was there to hold her hand and guide her home. Listen to episode 171 with Lindsey from @playingintraffic2012 Playing in Traffic Podcast to hear the story of the sister’s reunion. What is Religious Trauma Syndrome (RTS)? What is a Captive Organisation? Or a High Demand Religious Group (HDRG)? How can someone be “Physically In, Mentally Out (PIMO) of their Religious group? All of these questions were answered for me when I read Geoffrey’s book. I was then lucky enough to discuss his work with him and the pressures and difficulties surrounding all of these important issues. Definition of Religion
There are many competing definitions of religion out there.  Some try to break it down into one vital component.  There are others that try to name everything religion is capable of organizing.  Many definitions have a western bias, others tend to be demeaning.  Terranism will avoid this kerfuffle and content itself with its own definitions.
The Terranic definition of religion:
Religion is an organization of spirituality
And the Terranic definition of spirituality:
Spirituality is an organization of the truth
What is the truth?  Well, that’s what we’re all trying to figure out, isn’t it?
