Hello! Did anyone watch BBC Wild Isles last night? The episode could not have been timed better for it showed several, beautiful clips of starling murmurations, and guess what arrived at the weekend? My Starling Murmuration at Sunrise prints! They are available now to buy and you can get yours by clicking on my bio link. The print measures 21cm x 21cm and is printed in the UK onto thick, FSC-certified card. I drew it a couple of months ago when we had some snow. Gryphon 2 (Fall, 1980). “Attack of the Griffon,” by Andy Newbry, brings a strong Judges Guild vibe. If Gryphon was printed on newprint, it might have worked OK, but heavy cover stock does this sort of amateur art no favors.

13. Do you prefer to write in pen or pencil?

Pen.

dull pencil on paper is a sensory squick for me. especially if its newprint or construction paper or something with a texture difference from your average notebook paper.

The Pentel RSVP Fine Point is an excellent pen that always flows smoothly and never stutters while i'm writing and never needs a scribble to make the ink start coming out again. The line weight is thin and elegant but very readable.

(of course if we are talking Serious Business writing, I want to use a keyboard becuase my brain works 243 times faster than my hand)

28. Can you swim very well? Do you like swimming?

Fun(?) fact about me: when I was five years old I nearly drowned at the local beach. Like, lifeguard pulled me out, did CPR, ambulance took me to the hospital Nearly Drowned. After that my mom insisted on swimming lessons for me and my younger siblings.

I am actually a phenomenal swimmer since then and enjoy the hell out of it. Absolutely love being in the water. When i was a tween we'd visit my uncle on summer weekends. He had a pool and I would stay in there for HOURS. I would only get out to have lunch and use the bathroom then I'd jump back in until the sun started setting at the end of the day. pool chlorine is a smell i genuinely enjoy a lot because of the pleasant associations it has with swimming lol

29. Did you play with Legos as a kid? What was your favorite set?

Definitely played with Legos as a kid. And as an adult. i know we must have gotten sets for christmas and birthdays and such but we really rarely played with the sets or cared about them beyond Yay New Pieces! lol me and my siblings were free-builders. We liked to make whatever our imaginations came up with. The one thing i remember making according to the instructions more than once was a boat (it might have been a police or coast guard boat) that had some weirdly shaped pieces and we followed the instructions on that a couple times until we got the hang of how to use the weirdly shaped pieces enough to design our own, much cooler boats.
