“Heart does not belong to me”

I am in dilemma,

My heart aches for him,

I want to hold him until I disappear into him but can’t,

Because his heart does not belong to me.

He cares for me,

He would fight anyone for me,

He will love me as much as a human can,

He will do anything my mind wish for,

But end of the day his heart does not belong to me.

I would definitely die for him,

I would burn this world for him,

I can feel my every emotions for him,

I would do anything his heart wish for,

I will let him go because as much as he love me,

His heart does not belong to me.

We have visited many places together,

We have best memories together,

We have done many things together,

We had best meals together,

But as much as I wish for ‘US’,

His heart does not belong to me.

We share calmness with each other,

We would sit in silence for hours, days or even months,

But the idea of ‘US’ is ephemeral,

His heart that I ache for, is beats for someone else,

I would love to be that person but his heart belongs to someone else

The truth is I don’t want someone better,

I want him, all of it,

His sadness, happiness, pain, everything,

I don’t think I’m worth it, but for him, I’ll try.

I want him on days where he don’t want me,

Which is beyond me because I want all that he is,

But his heart does not belong to me.

Winter

I thought autumn was the season of heartbreak

that a sword would drop

and cut heartstrings,

like the way trees let loose their hair

in the form of dead and shriveled leaves.

but by the time autumn has come to kiss you,

last winter has already been forgotten,

or you would realize that is when

love comes and goes as fast as the sun

during daylight savings.

I twist beneath the sheets and only meet cold cotton

it is too icy to be sleeping alone

and the season too festive to enjoy by myself.

I will find a fake partner and tell myself it is real

until I forget what real love ever felt like

because winter is too sad to spend on my own.

we spend the months dying to meet eachother

and then we die once more

when it inevitably turns out wrong

there is no coming back in winter,

we all break with the cold.

A Poem on Love:

Love is the warm marrow of my bones, the embers made from the tree that grew in the palms of our linked hands.

Love is the feeling of stars placed in the cavity of my chest, plucked out of the black before their bloom of energy.

Love, the word, the breath, the inhale it takes and the exhales it spends to say, is something the flap of flesh in my mouth wants to say until it bleeds the same color as the velvet of my heart.

My bones are broken From the words breaking me down Eroding me inside and out Piercing my soul And when I breath, they shout. Washed up, Residing alone. Sea salt in each wound Sand, void of stick or stone.

First time in a medical ward as a doctor and all I felt was guilt. Pure guilt. How do I get to have so much and these people are suffering and struggling for everything? How come their problems comprise only a couple of hours of my day but are their whole life? The only thing I wish for is that the way I know the world would end. The way things are meant to be, designed to be, strategised to be.
