Who isnt motivated by #money? Lets be honest, even the humblest of people might do something out of their comfort zone, if the price is right! (As a side, I miss #bobbarker as the host) As many of you know, Ive begun a new chapter in my life (i like to do that quite often - keeps me on my toes lol). This chapter is different and unlike any Ive written before. Instead of harboring on the what if's of the past...Im solely focused on the what is..which is today. And whats great, i have the freedom to choose what i do, how i do it, and when. For those that dont believe in the #powerofpositive or the magic of #gratitude, im living proof that its real, it exists, and its completely changing my approach to having a happy, healthy, long, and loving life! As part of my #gratitude practise, each week I focus on and work in 1 space within our house. A room, a closet, a cabinet, etc. Last weekend, i found an old letter from someone that said "thank you" with this $50 gem in it! Even @that1atlguy87 was in shock! If you've read The Secret, youd know its all about #gratitude. In one of the first few chapters, it instructs you to take a $1 bill and put a sticky note on it with a reminder to be thankful for all the money ive been blessed to have. I didnt have a $1, so i used a $5. Today I couldnt help but look into the eyes of these two beautiful boys I've been blessed with, and think to myself.. wow, what did I do to deserve being asked to come to lunch almost everyday with this handsome little man, to have a 6 year old little human completely light up when i walked into his lunch room, and then watching how proud he was to have me there, so much so he even made my lunch tray, brought it to me, and upon leaving, held the doors for me. THEN, as I walked across the kids beautiful school campus, I realized yet another thing, the fact that I am even able to enjoy these #momentsthatmatter, is beyond anything I envisioned for myself. Because some kids dont get to have these privileges, and sometimes dont even get to have the opportunity to enjoy them without scheduled planning and perfect timing, which I've learned doesnt exist. after having a nice lunch with #mjh, I walked to pick up #ajh ... and its seeing this contagious #smile from your youngest, as he runs to you with arms open, because he is so excited to see you and his brother and family! If ever I am feeling down on myself, or questioning if I'm a good mom, step mom, partner, fur mom, friend, or overall person in general, I need to remind myself of these #moments in time... Happy Tuesday People! Hope everyone got their taxes filed, or at least applied for an extension! I've been blessed with the opportunity to raise two beautiful boys. My primary objective isnt about me, or @that1atlantaguy87, or what car I drive, what clothes I wear, it's not even where I live. My sole objective in this life is to make sure I carry forward the strength, the morals, the loyalty, the honesty, and the integrity my many family, friends, and mentors have instilled within me. Dont get me wrong, I'd still love to sport a sexy ride with big rims, or be able to travel around whenever I please, but those are all just "things", and those things arent what matters in the grand scheme of life. It's people. Its love. It's an open mind to an open way of life. Its enabling trust and comfort and supporting people and situations that make no sense in the #moment at hand. I'm learning VERY slowly, but surely, that I have a unique gift. Actually I have a few, but the one I am most proud of is captured in this picture. Day 3..wow. you came at me with some crazy damn curve balls, but guess what? 🖕 I know I'm not perfect, I know I've made, and will continue to make mistakes, but through this journey called life, I'm learning to grow and evolve and use my "voice"(even when its gone..literally) to do good,make people smile, stand up for myself, and maybe shed a little perspective to others that may seek it. Respect is knowing that you arent going to get along with or like everyone.
