Just played a couple hours of Wanderstop
Holy shit i am in love with this game
The story is heart wrenching, wholesome, and hilarious
The music is amazing
The visuals are fucking beautiful
The gameplay is very calming
I am in love with the characters, everyone is adorable and overly sarcastic, I love it
I am relating to the main character a lot more than id like to be, and it's very compelling to keep playing onwards.
I 100% recommend anyone try it out if love chill vibes, adorable aestetics, and heartfelt stories

Neva, the second game by the GRIS developers, is out now 💗
The game is about a young woman bound to a wolf for life and going on a journey through a slowly decaying world after encountering dark forces.
youtube
Knowing the nature of the GRIS game, it´s safe to say that Neva is likely a similarly beautiful and emotionally devastating experience.

But don’t get cocky. Chaos won’t back down just because you have more firepower. Quite the opposite, in fact: more wizards means more danger. You’ll have to work closely with your posse, and make smart use of your magical arsenal, to take down the Shatter’s toughest foes.
Better Together also adds an arcane array of difficulty modes to Wizard With a Gun: Ranger (Easy), Gunslinger (Normal), Sheriff (Hard) and Outlaw (Very Hard). This has been a highly requested feature from players and Galvanic are delighted to finally make it a reality.

Or you can tweak a number of variables to create your own custom difficulty modes, making the game as easy or as hard as you like. Wizard With a Gun has never been more accessible—or more challenging. Play the game your way, no matter what your skill level is.
Wizard with a Gun is an online co-operative sandbox survival game set in a magical wilderness wrought with dangerous creatures and arcane mysteries. Embark on a journey alone or with a friend to collect, craft and outfit your wizard however you see fit as you explore the unknown. Carefully design weapons, bullets and furnishings for your tower home, but try not to burn it all down as the magic you wield escalates beyond your control.
Wizard With a Gun’s massive and totally free Better Together update is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

I bought Yugioh Early Days collection
Haven't played it yet so more on that later... I read some reviews but honestly the reviews very much gave me the vibe of they were written by people who were too young too have actually played these earliest games when they were new because their complaints stemmed mostly from how primitive the early games felt in terms of the TCG rules.
Which yeah I know the earliest Gameboy titles didn't follow the TCG to a T and that the original TCG rules were less complicated than they are now. Personally I like the YGO GBA games best in terms of how they handled the TCG rules (well most of them) but I don't mind them trying different things at all and honestly dislike the current TCG rules from what I've heard from it...so yeah... not listening to some kids review lol
Anyway, I also got a copy of Pokemon Pearl! We went to a video game event at a mall about 45 minutes away yesterday. Initially one booth had the typical overpriced cartridge-only copy of Pearl but I had this feeling I should wait and I'm glad I did! The literal last vendor we visited had Pokemon Pearl in the original case for $45, it was priced low because cosmetically the game has a lot of wear to it but I don't plan on selling it so I don't really care if it doesn't look pretty anymore.
We picked up some other used games that we'll probably play on our channel at some point and the game store that was running the event took our channel information and said they would be willing to let us advertise in their store once we get some cards for them! So, overall I'm glad we went.
I sadly had to go to Gamestop to get YGO early days collection. I wanted to get the included card for nostalgia purposes so buying digitally wasn't an option and I'm currently boycotting other stores that sell new games (the local video game stores we frequent are retro game stores). Without fail the customer service there is always shitty. They try to rope you into getting/renewing a membership and when I told him no thanks he treated me like shit. I think it's unprofessional but that's why I don't shop there often. Aw well, I'm sure it will be worth it for those previously Japan exclusive titles and to play Yugioh games on the TV

I'm going to try to get #BombRushCyberfunk as my next game. It has a big following since it's the spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio. I need to play it this year but I'm studying hard. Time management is a must.

WE LIVE IN A HELL WORLD
Snippets from the article by Karissa Bell:
SAG-AFTRA, the union representing thousands of performers, has struck a deal with an AI voice acting platform aimed at making it easier for actors to license their voice for use in video games. ...
the agreements cover the creation of so-called “digital voice replicas” and how they can be used by game studios and other companies. The deal has provisions for minimum rates, safe storage and transparency requirements, as well as “limitations on the amount of time that a performance replica can be employed without further payment and consent.”
Notably, the agreement does not cover whether actors’ replicas can be used to train large language models (LLMs), though Replica Studios CEO Shreyas Nivas said the company was interested in pursuing such an arrangement. “We have been talking to so many of the large AAA studios about this use case,” Nivas said. He added that LLMs are “out-of-scope of this agreement” but “they will hopefully [be] things that we will continue to work on and partner on.”
...Even so, some well-known voice actors were immediately skeptical of the news, as the BBC reports. In a press release, SAG-AFTRA said the agreement had been approved by "affected members of the union’s voiceover performer community." But on X, voice actors said they had not been given advance notice. "How has this agreement passed without notice or vote," wrote Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash in Pokémon. "Encouraging/allowing AI replacement is a slippery slope downward." Roger Clark, who voiced Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, also suggested he was not notified about the deal. "If I can pay for permission to have an AI rendering of an ‘A-list’ voice actor’s performance for a fraction of their rate I have next to no incentive to employ 90% of the lesser known ‘working’ actors that make up the majority of the industry," Clark wrote.
SAG-AFTRA’s deal with Replica only covers a sliver of the game industry. Separately, the union is also negotiating with several of the major game studios after authorizing a strike last fall. “I certainly hope that the video game companies will take this as an inspiration to help us move forward in that negotiation,” Crabtree said.
And here are some various reactions I've found about things people in/adjacent to this can do

And in OTHER AI games news, Valve is updating it's TOS to allow AI generated content on steam so long as devs promise they have the rights to use it, which you can read more about on Aftermath in this article by Luke Plunkett

SAG-AFTRA is going on strike again. This time, the union is calling a work stoppage against the major video game companies after nearly two years of trying to renegotiate its Interactive Media Agreement. The decision to hit the picket lines comes 10 months after the union’s initial strike authorization vote. The strike goes into effect July 26 at 12:01 a.m. The 10 companies facing the strike are Activision Productions Inc., Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc., Electronic Arts Productions Inc., Epic Games, Inc., Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Games Inc., Take 2 Productions Inc., VoiceWorks Productions Inc., and WB Games Inc. “We’re not going to consent to a contract that allows companies to abuse A.I. to the detriment of our members. Enough is enough. When these companies get serious about offering an agreement our members can live — and work — with, we will be here, ready to negotiate,” SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher said in a statement.
