Been a while since a post on here, huh? That's gonna change, don't worry. Starting with the incredible news that...

PROJECT ARRHYTHMIA'S MAIN VERSION HAS BEEN UPDATED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOUR YEARS

For around the past four years, all the updates to the game have been only for beta versions that you had to opt into. After all that time, we're finally at a state where this new version of the game is stable enough to leave it.

It's impossible to overstate how insane this update is - the game looks NOTHING like the last version on the main branch. Though the gameplay is still pretty much the same.

Major features include: Built-in gradients in levels, the ability to move around the player and restrict their movement, new menus, a completely new level editor, and actual story mode levels/cutscenes.

Your choices determine their fate. Three love interests, six endings, and a raving techno-trance soundtrack- all packed into a wild journey from the trudging temp lifestyle at the bottom of society to taking down a highly influential politician at the very top.

Teknokrat is currently in development, and is a solo project with art, story, programming and music by @artbyhauk.

Animal Crossing: New MURDER!

Despite what the name may have you think, this is NOT a grimdark creepypasta. In this lighthearted fan-project, you will visit a dream island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to help the island representative being accused of attempted murder! (Note the ‘attempted’; none of the beloved villagers have actually died!) You have to look for clues on the island, and visit the game’s website to play a visual novel section to talk to suspects and more! You’ll use the information and the evidence you gather in an Ace Attorney-like court in order to find and convict the guilty party!

This game boasts:

Visual novel counterparts to all the in-game islanders, with a LOT of added character depth!

A unique soundtrack you can purchase on BandCamp!

A ton of original art!

A balance of a lighthearted tone and respectfully handling dark subjects!

Why am I shilling for this game, you may ask? Am I a dev? Am I being paid? ... Nope! I’m just someone who really liked the game, and wanted to get more people to play it. I simply think it’s an incredibly cool project that should have more eyes on it! And if it doesn’t tell you the quality of this project that some rando on tumblr decided to make a post advertising it just because he thinks it’s rad, I dunno what will!

Magically, I haven't really had to mute that "tumblr isn't dead Actually" post yet because most of the shitty responses are just people who are frustrated about not getting more engagement. WHICH I can understand for sure seeing as I've been making a comic for a decade that has 196 followers on tumblr lolol. I've been doing okay lately but I'm DEEPLY mentally ill and it's absolutely exacerbated by my career, y'all who have been around a while know i am DEFINITELY not salt-deficient in my own time.

mostly i just feel bad because like. man what would you like me to do, i made my point and none of their blogs disprove it. i know i'm REALLY not an example of Success™️ or whatever (my comic is on a six month timer literally right now, i'm working with dogfood over here lmfao) but if you're ONLY feigning enthusiasm with the EXPECTATION that you'll get Something in return that's not going to work either. tumblr, but also most nerdy social medias, is best for people who are obsessive about stuff. i said fandom in the original post but there are thriving craft communities here! there are weightlifters! it doesn't MATTER what the thing is, you just have to genuinely be into it to an embarrassing degree, and want to hang out with other people doing the same. that's how communities work.

this issue plays out /constantly/ in the webcomic community, SO many people show up to get popular or whatever with no intention of reading anyone else's stuff, or reading other comics is A Chore rather than a cause for excitement. Almost all of those projects die early because the creator gets burnt out, because webcomics are fuckin hard and thankless and the ONLY reason you keep at it is because you love it yourself and can't help but make the thing. and then you stick around long enough to find the other freaks who are also too stupid to quit, and now you have friends lol

I really feel for the folks who are so frustrated, i have one foot there pretty much all the time. but you can't fake this stuff, and unfortunately i do not know how to explain this concept to folks who don't even realize where the problem is
