Even though I didn’t really like the mother reveal, I think my favorite thing about it was the idea that since Sutekh was riding the TARDIS the whole time, he was watching everything from the Doctor’s (and our) perspective. And I love that he just got so invested in the mystery of Ruby’s mom that he just had to come out of hiding. The God of Death, who doesn’t like anything or anyone living, got so wrapped up in the plot of the show that he decided to finally go ahead and destroy the universe just so he could get a mystery reveal. Hilarious. What a funny little guy. I don’t think he would’ve actually liked the death of the universe. I think he would’ve gotten bored.

my mum recognised the actor who plays the barmaid in “73 yards” from something so i looked it up & it's the same actor who played one of the main cannibals in countrycide & seeing as one of my first thoughts about ruby heading down into that town & towards the pub was a visceral reaction that bombarded me with flashbacks of jack, owen & gwen barricading themselves in a desolate pub in the swansea countryside to fend off the cannibals i have been laughing about this for the last 10 minutes.

With how many references there are in this season about the doctor being a parent, we are definitely going to have some Susan content. I mean, when doctor who keeps shoving the same clues in your face over and over again, it's best to not overlook them.

Okay, so Carla calling Sutekh the Beast before he'd even fully manifested - and Colonel Chidozie saying he was in hell - already had me thinking about The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, but I just looked up the voice actor for Sutekh. Sutekh is voiced by Gabriel Woolf, who played Sutekh in the 70s as well.

Another role Gabriel Woolf has had in the Whoniverse was in 2006, as the Beast in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit. I'm not saying they're the same being, but… what if they were the same being?
