new artwork and merch for the Medicos Pop Up Shop! and incredibly enough, they forewent adding Hayato and Takeshi in favour of Bel and Fran, and Ryohei!!! which is saying something, since typically Ryohei is never in merch lineups, let alone in favour of Hayato and Takeshi. incredible

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ dean winchester liking someone tough…
gn!reader, masterlist
Tumblr media
dean winchester meeting you and he just can’t get through to you. sammy accepts dean’s love easily and the gestures and his sweet words (if he ever gives them), you don’t accept a cup of coffee unless you pay him back and it gets on his nerves.
you hunt one time with them— total accident, and he just thinks, wow, most gorgeous person he’s ever see — and you’re asking sam if his brother has issues because he’s been staring & you don’t wanna bring it up.
sam kinda laughs, dean kinda wants to throw himself out on the highway. sam assures you his brother just likes you, you scoff and walk away— dean wishes he could burn his eyes out. being rejected is one thing, being treated like that? totally other thing he’s never dealt with and is not ready to deal with.
the rest of the case is fine and thankfully, you’re a research kind of hunter so you spend most of it with sam. he’d think with all that… whatever you’ve been doing, you’re more hands on. (whatever you’ve been doing being not flirting with him, what’s wrong with you?)
“sammy, they give you their number?” he asks when they get in the impala to head back to the bunker and his little asshole of a brother nods. nods like it’s so damn casual. it isn’t. you didn’t offer dean your number.
so he shrugs it off but he knows it’s not over. sam does too, unfortunately, but he can’t focus on his embarrassment for now. he heard you saying something about visiting a city when you’re done with the hunt so this man spends hours looking for cities that start with the letter ‘g’ that might be anywhere near the vicinity of pennsylvania. he finds a few, tosses a coin, does some research, and great, a couple of hearts went missing a few towns over from where you’re staying.
he rushes sam out of the bunker two weeks later and on the drive to god knows where with the werewolf problem, he stops at a motel.
“you— you need to stop? are you serious?”
“a man needs his rest, sam.”
“not you.” dean shrugs like he’s not shocking his brother to next week and they set up in a motel for the night. he finishes brushing his teeth before making a noise like he just had an idea.
“sammy, remember the hunter from the wendigo case?”
“…yeah it’s only been two weeks dean. you remember their name.”
“sure. whatever. we should call them, right? we’re close by.”
“how would you know—”
“i just do—”
“dean just call them yourself, man. i have their number in my cell.”
“no no, they gave it to you.”
“yeah, ‘cause you were in the car. just call them—”
“fine! god, you’re annoying.” and he slams the bathroom door so sam doesn’t see the sweat running down his face. he’s not scared— okay maybe a little intimidated, but you’re so… put together and you know what you want and if you didn’t give dean your number then surely you meant to do it, right?
when he’s out of the bathroom he uses sam’s phone to call you. it’s an honest accident. in his hurry to not back out, he forgot to switch phones. “hello.” your voice comes through when the call connects and he’s thinking of— “sam? you there?”
“h—hey. yeah, no, not sam.” he clears his throat and he hears you laugh and he thinks his heart melts.
“dean? hey, how are you?”
“great, ‘m good. just, we were, y’know, workin’ on a case nearby—”
“near where?”
“where you are, and i thought i’d call, ask if you wanna join us.”
“sure. but where’s that again?”
“geneva.”
“dean, i’m not anywhere near geneva.”
“what? but you said—”
“i said genesee.” he shuts his eyes aggressively, panicking, trying to think of what to say. “but it’s— i didn’t know you listened.”
“yeah apparently i didn’t do it well enough.”
“‘s fine, i can be there in a few days if y’all are still having trouble with it.” he perks up, sighing in relief.
“yeah, yeah, that sounds good, we’re on our way so it could take us a day or so.” and when you promise him you’ll call in a few days he can’t help but hang up with a smile on his face. and a middle finger thrown to the grinning sam in the corner.
he tells sam that he wants the day off when he wakes up and sam’s thisclose to calling everyone he knows to ask where the real dean is. but he already gets it. dean likes you, he doesn’t want to finish the hunt early in hopes that you’ll join them again and honestly sam looked at the facts and the werewolf is as much of a threat as a vacuum cleaner.
seeing as he’s frickin locked up in jail like any normal murderer. not that they know he’s not normal— the point is, sam saw that and gaped at dean like he was crazy. he drove them six hours (there still four more to go) for a werewolf that’s already locked up and if he hasn’t escaped yet then it’s because he’s stupid enough to stay locked. they don’t need to go kill him.
but dean insists and sam kind of doesn’t mind the vacation from the stuffy bunker. dean enjoys the day, eats, looks around, makes sure they’re not needed and they spend another night before heading out. when you meet up with them another day later sam notices dean’s shaved two days early and he combed his hair. his brother, dean winchester, combed his hair.
“hey,” dean greets you with a wave and you move in to hug sam first then him. deans surprised, not taking you for the type, but it seems he’s been very misinformed about you.
“so, what’s up? i didn’t actually get to read anything on my way here.”
“oh, it’s—” sam’s about to tell you it’s nothing, the guys locked up but dean cuts him off.
“we should get breakfast first, we’ll talk about it then?” you nod, ready to get back in your car when dean speaks up, “we could drive you. it’d be easier if we’re all in one car.”
when you decline his offer, saying you can’t go anywhere without your girl, he thinks he just fell in love. he’s blushing out of both embarrassment at the rejection and the adoring look he knows is painting his face at hearing how much you care about your car.
at the diner you’re about to order before dean groans, slamming his hand on his thigh and tsk’ing, making you frown across from him. “they locked him up. the guys locked up, looks like he wasn’t much of a threat.”
sam barely holds his laugh in. that’s why he didn’t want him telling you? he’s lying his way to a date with you? sam can’t wait to see it go down.
“oh. that sucks, we came all the way here for nothing. i can take care of it, i know you guys have been on the road longer, lebanons a long way from here.”
dean shakes his head quickly. “nah, we’ll go, you just got here today.” you tilt your head in confusion.
“you’ve been here for more than a day? and you didn’t find out he’s been arrested?”
dean’s eyes narrow like he doesn’t understand what you’re saying. he’s about to ask for clarification before the waitress comes and he thanks the heavens above. strictly looks at his menu while speaking to her so she doesn’t get the wrong idea like he eh us usually do, and ignores sam the entire time he’s asking you about anything and everything.
halfway through you notice you’re mostly talking and ask sam some things, he happily replies through gritted teeth since dean is kicking him under the table.
after breakfast you thank them and you’re about to get back in your car, since there’s clearly no case here, before you turn around. “dean?”
he hums in response, and sam takes it as his cue to scream into the impala, you walk over to dean, both hands on his biceps, “how about next time you just ask me out? you didn’t need to drive all this way.”
dean blushing is the understatement of the century as you slap his chest twice and walk away. he memorized your plates.
Tumblr media
idk what this is but yay! it’s done! hopefully it pulls me out of my block because i can’t write anything good for the life of me.
also guys ugh i wish i could describe it better and if you have any ideas tell me but the narrowing his eyes thing was me trying to describe the look he gave jody when she was talking about sex and ‘wha’ face SO CUTE

Taking Care of Each Other
Tumblr media
Characters: Dean Winchester x Reader
Warnings: Dean and his silly walls (yes that’s a warning), Smut!, unprotected sex (cover it up people), aftercare
A/N: Last anon request for what aftercare would look like between Dean and the reader. I’m using the character, Dean, but this does not follow the Supernatural story at all. No disrespect to anyone, this is a work of fiction. All work is my own. I do not give permission for it to be taken. This was written and edited fast, please overlook any errors.
Minors DNI 18+
Dean Winchester, the green eyed man that rolls through town every few months for his job that he can’t tell you about. All he says is it’s “the family business” and his brother, Sam and him took it over when their father died.
You hadn’t planned on sleeping with him the first time you met him, but one thing led to another and let’s be honest, how could anyone say no to him. He was built like he was carved by the gods and he was a very skilled lover. He took you places in the bed you’d never been and he always made you feel like you were the only woman in his life.
You were sure that wasn’t the case, but it was nice to think you were. Even if it was only for a few days.
“Hey, sweetheart.” You heard the familiar voice behind you. You turned around and came face to face with Dean Winchester. “Hey, Dean. Good to see you”, you turned to fill the coffee of another customer.
You felt his eyes on you the whole time you helped customers. You came back to his table to take his order. “Do you want your usual, Dean? Cheeseburger, fries, drink and a slice of cherry pie?” He touched your arm “You know me so well, sweetheart.” You pulled away. “I’ll put your order in, Dean. Sammy not joining you to eat?”
“No, Sam didn’t come with me on this trip. Is everything okay, you don’t normally pull away from me.” “Yes, I’m just busy, Dean. We all can’t be our own boss.” You didn’t mean to sound snippy, but you were tired of the yoyo relationship with him.
He sat back and watched you working. He loved watching you work and interact with people. That’s what drew him to you, your sweet personality and your kindness. He often thought about you on his hunts. Dean wanted to tell you about his life and what he did, but he needed to keep you safe.
Dean’s order was ready so you grabbed it from the window and walked it over to him. “Here’s your order, Dean. Let me know if you need anything else.” Dean looked at you “Thank you, Y/N. Um, what time do you get off?” “I get off in about an hour, why?” “Well, I was hoping we could talk.” “Talk?!? Ha! I didn’t know the great Dean Winchester knew how to talk with his clothes on.”
“Wow, okay. Sorry I asked. I’ll eat and be out of your hair.” Dean looked defeated. You walked away and your heart broke. Why did you talk to him like that? He didn’t deserve it. You walked around the diner helping other customers, but your eyes kept looking over at Dean. He’d barely touched his food. You felt a pang of guilt in your chest.
Once your tables were cleared you walked over to Dean and sat across from him. “Dean, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that to you. It’s unfair and just mean. If I’m being honest I’m just hurt. I feel like our relationship is just a convenience for you when you’re in town. I don’t know anything about your job, and you keep all these walls up. I care about you. If I’m being completely honest, I’m in love with you.”
Dean’s green eyes looked up at you and he took your hand. “Oh sweetheart, I’m sorry. My life is hard and I just wanted to protect you from it. I care about you too. You’re not just a convenience for me.”
“Dean, then please trust me enough to tell me about your life. I want to know all about you. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I’d give up everything to be with you. I know you have walls up, but dammit, Dean I’m going to break them down if it’s the last thing I do.” Dean smirked. “I know you will, darlin’. How about after you get off we go back to your place and talk. If you want to.” “Dean, I’d love to.”
About 2 hours later you were pulling into your driveway with Dean behind you in the Impala. Dean climbed out of the car looking sexy as ever. You bit your lip. You shook your head, No! Stop it. You can’t end up in bed with him. You’re here to talk.
Dean walked up and looked around. “The house looks great, sweetheart.” “Thanks, Dean. I’ve tried to keep it up. I just finished remodeling the inside. Shall we go in?” Dean shook his head yes.
Once inside your dog, Tilly came bounding up to Dean. She always loved him and was excited to see him. Dean sat on the couch and Tilly jumped up and licked him while wagging her tail. He laughed as she covered him with licks. You loved his laugh.
“Dean, I’m going to go change. I’ll be back in a few minutes.”  “Okay, Tilly and I will be here waiting.” “You can grab a beer if you want.” Dean nodded and you turned to head towards your room.
Dean stood up and walked around looking around at how things had changed since he was last there. “Looks good, Tilly. She’s been busy.” Tilly wagged her tail at Dean. He opened the fridge and grabbed a beer. As he sat down on the couch, you came back into the living room with an oversized shirt and shorts on. Dean smirked, he realized the shirt you were wearing was one of his.
“What’s so funny, Winchester?” “Oh nothing, just that shirt was mine.” You looked down and blushed. “Well, I like it. It’s comfortable.” You and Dean stared at each other for a few minutes. You felt yourself leaning in. Tilly jumped up and you cleared your throat.
“So, Dean, what did you want to talk about?” You asked softly. Dean shifted on the couch and turned towards you. “Sweetheart, I wanted to talk about us. You know my job takes me all over the country. It’s dangerous and has cost me people I love. I’ve tried to keep you out of it to protect you. I wouldn’t survive if something happened to you too. He took a deep breath and let it out. Sammy and I hunt things, monsters and other bad things. All of it is real, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, you name it. We cross the country protecting people and helping families that are in danger.” Dean placed his hand on your face, running his thumb over your cheek. “You mean too much to me. I meant it when I told you that you were the only one I’ve been with since we met. I think about you when I’m gone and can’t wait to see you again.”
“Sammy didn’t come with me this time because I asked him to stay at the bunker. I wanted to come and talk to you. I’m not here on a job.” You sat on the couch staring at Dean trying to take in everything he told you. “So, monsters are real, and you go around the country killing them? You’ve been doing this since you were little? Oh my god Dean. That’s horrible. I’m so sorry you had to grow up like that.”
“Hey, Y/N, I’m fine. It just made me tougher.” You took your hand and placed it gently on Dean’s face. “It’s still not right. I’m sure your dad did the best he could, but you deserve so much more.” You leaned close, stopping halfway hoping he would move the rest of the way. Dean looked in your eyes and moved towards you.
He placed a soft kiss on your lips and you kissed him back. Dean’s tongue swiped your lips asking for entrance. You opened your mouth slightly and Dean deepened the kiss. You moaned into his mouth and more when you felt his hands trailing up your body.
Dean loved to touch you and be close to you. After what he told you about his childhood and life, you realized he craved touch because he was so touch starved. It made your heart hurt for him.
His hands played with the hem of your shirt and you pulled out of the kiss long enough to remove your shirt. Dean bit his lip when he saw you weren’t wearing a bra. “Damn baby, just as beautiful as ever.”
He pulled you onto his lap and his hands trailed up your body from your hips to your breasts. His calloused hands slowly cupped your breasts and you moaned. Dean took his left thumb and index finger and squeezed your left nipple, while he took your right one in his mouth. He started sucking. Pulling a loud moan from your lips as your head leaned back.
He smirked around your nipple. Dean knew all the spots that drove you wild. You knew how to drive him wild too.
Feeling the slick pool between your thighs you knew you wanted Dean. Through the thin material of the shorts you had on, you could feel Dean’s hardness through his jeans. You moved your body down into his erection. Causing a growl to come from his lips. “You’re playing a dangerous game, sweetheart.” You looked in his eyes, now dark green with lust. You bit your lip and pulled him in for a deep kiss.Your walls clenched. Between pants you pulled back “Dean, take me to the bedroom, please.” “Are you sure, sweetheart?” “Yes, Dean. I want you.”
Dean picked you up and carried you to the bedroom. He laid you on the bed gently before closing the door with his foot. Dean removed his shoes and shirt, and slid his jeans down looking directly in your eyes.
He drove you wild when he did that. He knew it too. You groaned and leaned your head back, Dean chuckled. He made his way to the bed and hovered over you, kissing your lips. His lips trailed down your neck, biting your pulse point making you moan. Dean continued kissing down your body until he got to the waistband of your shorts. He looked up at you through his eyelashes.
He was asking for permission to remove them. You nodded yes and he hooked his fingers and pulled them down with your panties. You lifted your hips to help him. Dean threw your clothes to the side and kissed his way up your thigh. He used his hands to gently part your legs. Exposing your dripping wet core to him.
You could see his hardness through his boxers. You both looked at each other with lust and love in your eyes. Dean slid off his boxers and his hardness sprang free. You huffed out a shaky breath. Dean was the biggest you’d ever had. He filled you and made you feel things you hadn’t before.
As he climbed between your legs his hand slid up your thigh. He used his right hand to part your folds, feeling your wetness and need. You bucked your hips into his hand and moaned. “Please, Dean.” “Patience sweetheart.” He purred in your ear.
You felt his fingers dip into your wet pussy and his thumb rub circles on your swollen clit. Dean moved his fingers and thumb faster, helping you chase your much needed release. You moved your hips into his hand. You were close. Faster than you thought you’d get there. “Dean…I’m….close.” Your breath hitched
“I know baby, cum for me. Come on, let it all go.” Dean whispered. With a deep moan you came hard, squeezing his fingers and releasing your juices. Dean pulled out his fingers and leaned up, capturing your lips. “You ready, baby?” Dean asked as he lined himself up to you. You nodded yes.
Dean pumped himself a few times and placed the tip at your entrance. As he pushed in you both gasped and moaned. It had been far too long since you two had been together. He pushed the rest of the way in bottoming out. Dean stilled himself for a minute, trying to compose himself.
He didn’t want to cum too fast, but you felt amazing wrapped around him. Dean’s movements were slow and meticulous. He was savoring every second he had you in his arms. His lips found yours as he slowly moved in and out of you. Your hands slid up his back and into his hair. The sound of moans and pants of pleasure filled the room.
You’d slept with Dean many times before, but this time felt different. Something had shifted between you two once he told you about his life.
With every touch and kiss you felt Dean’s walls coming down. His eyes filled with so much love and relief. Dean’s head rested in the crook of your neck as he slowly moved in you. His hot breath on your body sent chills down your spine. Your hands traced up and down his back, feeling how his muscles moved.
Your resolve was wearing down. You didn’t want to fall deeper in love with him, because you didn’t want to be hurt, but you couldn’t help it. In a breathy voice you whispered “I love you, Dean. So much.” Dean stilled and looked in your eyes. He softly kissed your lips and said “I love you too, sweetheart.”
This was the first time he’d ever said it to you. Usually he said he cared about you or you meant a lot to him, but he never said ‘love’. As Dean got closer to his release, he sped up a little. With one final thrust he spilled his hot seed deep inside you. Coating your walls with white ropes of cum.
He slowly pulled out as he felt himself softening and got up to go to the bathroom. When he returned he brought a warm washcloth to clean you up. Dean cleaned you gently, leaned up and kissed your lips before leaving the room.
When he returned he had brought you water. Handing you the water, he grabbed the sheet and covered you both up as he crawled in next to you. When you placed the cup down, he held out his arm for you to lay on.
Dean pulled you close to him and you laid your head on his chest, delicately tracing his tattoo with your finger tips. He kissed the top of your head “I do love you Y/N, so much. I’ve been a fool. I should have told you a long time ago.” You looked up at him “Shh, it’s okay baby, you told me and that’s all that matters.”
Dean smiled and kissed your lips. “Hey, move in with me. Move in with me and Sammy.” You sat up “What?! You want me to move in with you?” “Yes! That way I don’t have to be away from you. You can have your own room if you want or we can share my room. What do you say?” You looked at Dean’s face so full of love and eagerness, “Yes. Yes, Dean I’ll move in with you.”
He smiled and captured your lips with his. You laid your head back down on his chest and he pulled you tighter. Being with Dean was always amazing, but afterwards was your favorite part. It’s when Dean’s softer side really showed. He always made sure you were taken care of and felt safe. He loved holding you and would trace patterns on your back. At first you thought it was random movements, then you realized he was actually writing his name with his finger tips. It was the sweetest thing you’d ever experienced.
Moving in together was a huge step for you too, but you knew you would always take care of each other.

IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?!♥︎ megumi f. x reader
Ꮺ in which meeting megumi fushiguro was a complete, but sweet, sweet chaos . . .
cw: angsty af, mentions of intimacy, use of alcohol if u squint
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOW PLAYING! 💿 cherry waves - deftones
<𝟑.𖥔 ݁ ˖
dear megumi:
sometimes i wish i could tear apart this heart of mine, that’s apparently too big for my body. i wish i could just shut down everything you were and are for me. i wish i could turn off everything you light up in me. ever since the beginning…
[ ♥︎ ]
“so you’re fushiguro… yuuji talks a lot about you.” i looked at him, finally getting to meet my best friend’s best friend… wow. “just call him megumi, y’all are basically indirect friends at this point.” yuuji laughed, which i followed, looking at the raven haired boy for his approval.
“call me what you like.” megumi responded nonchalantly.
[ ♥︎ ]
i’ve been wondering nonstop what the fuck i did wrong. did i not deserve you? wasn’t i good enough? all those times i dropped everything just to run after you, all those times i promised you the whole world… weren’t they enough? weren’t you tired? of having me chase you around all day? did it bore you? having someone care so deeply about you, but not feeling the same about them?
i don’t think you can even imagine how it feels… cause, fuck.. has anyone ever said ‘no’ to you? have you ever wanted to pursue something that doesn't want you until it suffocates?
it hurts. it really fucking hurts.
[ ♥︎ ]
“are you at the party yet?” megumi asked through his phone, reaching my ear. “yeaaahhhh, im kinda drunk to be honest hahaha… but it’s real fun in here! you should come… pleeeaaasee.” there were a few seconds of silence until megumi broke it, shoting straight to my heart in the process.
“i don’t know how the fuck i’ll get there… but i will get there.” he hung up, leaving me excitedly waiting for him as i told all of our friends he was attending.
[ ♥︎ ]
that one night you kissed me, did i mean anything to you? cause at that very moment, to me, you were the whole world. my whole world. that one night i ended up tangled in your sheets. was i just another one on the list? cause to me, it was the very first time i felt cared about. you showed me the love i never thought i’d deserve.
could i even call it love?
i think you’d just call it lust.
[ ♥︎ ]
“how is yuuji going to find out about this?” i asked megumi as i ruffled his bed hair. “i think we should just tell him… but not now.” he answered as he scanned every detail on my face.
[ ♥︎ ]
i wish i knew what you meant by that. all the while i wanted to keep you as a promise, you just wanted to keep me as a secret. i wish nothing had ever happened, not because i regret it, nor did i not love it for a moment, but because i don't want to feel like this anymore. not with you.
i tried. i tried to be your friend. leave everything behind and continue as if nothing had happened. but the mere idea of thinking that I was never for you what you were for me is enough to make my heart ache.
maybe we live in a world full of superficialities, empty, where everything is momentary pleasures, satisfyingly chaotic, and pleasantly disposable. i never want to fall like this again. i don't want to dream so high again. i don't want to be so naive again.
but i can’t help it when it’s you.
[ ♥︎ ]
“i’m not ready for anything, with anyone…” he sated as tears started rolling down my face. why? why’d you give me a taste of some love you couldn’t give me? or didn’t want to give me…
[ ♥︎ ]
weeks passed, and i started to accept the fact that it was not gonna happen. i started seeing someone else.
maybe you didn’t want to have me, but you definitely didn’t want to lose me…
[ ♥︎ ]
“you coming y/n? we gonna go grab ice cream or sum.” yuuji asked turning back to look at me. i couldn’t tear my gaze away from my phone, but i didn’t fail to notice how megumi looked at me.
“uhmm actually, go ahead without me guys! i’ll hang out with yuta later…” i commented as i blushed lightly. “OOOOOO Y/N’s GOT A DATEEE” yuuji joked.
megumi didn’t say a word until i left.
[ ♥︎ ]
next day, everything changed. that kiss you stole from me… i wish i could have it back.
you told me you were ready, that you wanted this. that you wanted me.
you made fall all over again. but deeper this time. you tricked me into your game once again. i mistook your lies for a future, with sins and sweet promises.
friday. i wanted to confront you about it.
and you tore it all apart. again.
i am so fucking greedy, and i don't want to let something i love die, even though i know i will never have it.
i’d fucking love to be your friend. i’d fucking love to pretend that it doesn't burn my skin to want to hug you and not be able to do so. i’d love not to want to know everything about you.
i wish i didn’t want to be your whole world.
i don't know why you hurt this much. i barely know you, and yet, i can't imagine a life without you. i have never had the courage to face what i truly feel. cause it's too soon, cause it would only complicate everything, or just because you don't want to hear it.
but i love you, megumi.
i wish it wasn’t like that. none of this.
yours truly.

Pairing - Mountain x Phantom, 1.4k words, mature/explicit
Tags: body worship, phantummy, phantom being a little shit, mountain being desperate, mountain finishing in like 9 seconds oops, first time writing smut sorry, not beta read
Mountain was going to lose his fucking mind.
He knew Phantom had always been pretty - from the moment he had tumbled out of the summoning circle, he was all pouty lips, angled face, and doe eyes. A little gangly and underfed, sure, but nothing that a little love and home cooked meals couldn’t fix. And he was sweet - Lord Below was he sweet. An adorable nativity paired with a penchant to please that drove Mountain insane with a need to fawn, dote on, and love the little ghoul.
But now that they had gotten back from tour, things had only gotten worse for Mountain. Without the constant exercise of tour and the increase in lovingly prepared rich comfort foods of winter, Phantom had started to grow a little soft around the edges. What once was all prominent bones and sharp edges became gently curvy and cherubic, with softer thighs and arms and an ass that Mountain would love to bury his face in.
But the kicker, the absolute killing blow to Mountain’s sanity, was Phantom’s fucking tummy. As he had softened, a little bit of that fat had migrated to his chest and stomach, creating the most adorable little pooch that Mountain wanted to kiss, lick, suck - anything that Phantom would allow him to.
Sweet Satan, he was screwed.
—-
Mountain’s day started like normal, with him gently untangling himself from Phantom’s death grip on his body and shuffling to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. In the kitchen he found Dewdrop, holding a scalding cup of coffee and heating up the water for Mountain. He offered Mountain a sleepy smile.
“Hey big guy. Sleep alright?”
Mountain grunted in response, holding his cup out to Dew wordlessly.
“Understood,” Dew chuckled, pouring hot water in to Mountain’s teacup. “Phantom keep you up last night?”
“You could say that. Little bug is driving me crazy.” Mountain gently blew on his tea.
“Oh? What did he do now?” Dew leaned back against the counter, sipping his coffee. “More video games? Another documentary?”
“Satan, I wish. It’s just fucking him, Dew, I’m losing my mind. I just want to hold him and never let go.”
Dew laughed again. “Wow Mount, never thought I’d see the day someone made an honest woman out of you. It’s a good look.”
“Who’s making an honest woman out of Mountain?” Phantom’s sleepy voice called from down the hall. “I want to help.”
As Phantom appeared in the doorway, Mountain’s mouth went completely dry. In his bat boxer briefs and bat wing hoodie, Phantom looked good enough to eat. Mountain wanted to mark him, claim him, fuck him, break him, and then put him back together again. He wanted to grab him and steal him back to their room and spend hours eating the poor boy out until he cried. Fuck. Mountain needed to get his shit together.
“Oh, um, hi bug. H-how did you sleep?” Mountain stammered. Phantom chuckled and walked over to him, tucking himself against Mountain’s chest and kicking up a gentle purr.
“Like a rock. Your cuddles and your tea always make me go out like a light.” Phantom nuzzled against Mountain’s neck before pulling away to the cabinet where the tea was kept.
As he stood on his tiptoes to reach his favorite box of tea, his hoodie rode up a little, revealing a sliver of dark purple belly, just sticking out a bit over his boxers. Mountain looked up from his sip of tea, only to spit it out all over Dew, coughing heavily.
“What the fuck, Mount, are you trying to infect me with your earth ghoul cooties? Fuck off with that shit,” Dew yelped. He looked down at himself, now covered with a healthy spray of earl grey. “Ah, shit. Now I have to change my fucking shirt.”
Dew walked out of the kitchen past a sheepish Mountain and a bewildered Phantom, yanking off his shirt as he went.
“You alright there, Mounty? Everything OK?” Phantoms big purple eyes stared up at him, taking his breath away.
Mountain flushed up to his horns. “U-uh yeah, bug. Just choked a little bit. Sorry if I scared you.” Phantom rolled his eyes.
“Just glad you’re not dying, you big dummy. I love you too much to watch you choke to death on leaf water.”
Mountain smiled, tugging Phantom back into his chest. “I love you too, bug. I love you too.”
——
As their day progressed, Mountain slowly became more sure that Phantom was intentionally trying to drive him insane. The way he’d slowly bend over a laundry basket in front of Mountain and turn around and smile teasingly, the way he’d lift his sweater up over his head and make sure his t-shirt was stuck to it, the way he’d brush up against Mountain when they were working side by side. Mountain was ready to grab the little quint by the scruff of his neck and drag him back to their room to not be seen for at least a few days.
It all came to a head at movie night. The ghouls were all gathered in the common room watching some movie Dew and Aether liked, something with bombs and explosions and good special effects. Something Mountain could ignore for something sweeter. Namely, his lapful of quintessence ghoul.
Phantom was lounging against the earth ghoul’s torso, sitting between his legs. Every few minutes he’d shift ever so slightly, pressing back directly into Mountain’s dick. He stretched backwards, bringing his arms around Mountain’s shoulders and allowing his shirt to ride up as he nuzzled into Mountain’s neck.
Come on Mounty, hold me. I’m so cold.
Mountain could hear Phantom’s voice echoing around his brain.
I know you’ve been staring. Come on, wrap those big arms around me. I can feel you, I can feel you’re hard. I know you want me, Mounty.
Mountain growled slightly into Phantom’s neck.
Don’t start something you can’t finish, little bug. I hope you know what you’re doing.
Phantom only chirped and ground harder back into the earth ghoul. He brought his mouth right up to Mountain’s ear.
“Please, Mounty. Take me back to our room, come on.”
Mountain growled, picking Phantom up and throwing him over his shoulder as Phantom squealed happily. As they walked out of the common room, a there were a few chuckles and groans from various members of the pack, but they mostly ignored the scene happening in front of them.
Once they reached their shared room, Mountain tossed Phantom into the nest, yanking his shirt over his head.
“You fucking tease. Whatever am I to do with you?” He crawled forwards, caging Phantom in on all sides. “Hope you don’t like this shirt too much, bug. You’re not getting it back.”
In one swift motion, Mountain slashed the center of Phantom’s shirt open, revealing his delicate, plush purple skin. Mountain immediately latched onto Phantom’s neck, kissing, sucking and licking his way down the quint’s body until he reached his tummy.
“Fucking harassing me all day, showing this cute little tummy off when you know I can’t handle it. Fucking drives me insane, bug, madness how gorgeous you are. Could stare for hours and never have enough.”
Phantom whined, squirming against the sheets. “Then why don’t yo-hah-do something more than just stare? Please Mounty, I need it. Touch me, please.”
“Oh princess, you’ve had more than enough touches for today. You always get what you want, hmm? It’s time for me to get something back.”
Mountain straddled Phantom’s calf, slowly starting to grind as he shoved his face back into his soft purple tummy.
“Fuck, bug, you’re perfect. Love how soft you are, how soft you’ve gotten. Love that you’re so strong now, so pretty. Such a pretty ghoul.” Mountain gasped, staring to hump Phantom’s leg more aggressively. He brought a hand down to Phantom’s straining cock, slowly beginning to jerk it.
“You drive me crazy, baby, your cute little ass and your fucking thighs, love, wanna cover em with my marks. Wanna make sure everyone knows you’re mine. Wanna - ah! Wanna mate you, mark you, show everyone how much I fucking love you, need you, want you, ah-!”
Mountain finishes with a cry, spilling all over Phantom’s leg. Phantom follows shortly after, enamored with the scene of the earth ghoul falling apart. They lay together, panting, for a minute until Mountain crawls up Phantom’s body to kiss him. A comfortable silence falls over the pair.
“H-hey Mounty? Did you mean what you said? Do you want to be my mate?” Phantom asked nervously, tilting his chin up to look in to the earth ghouls eyes.
“With my whole heart, body, and soul, bug. If you want, whenever you want, wherever you want, I’m yours.”

Melted by Summer's Lust - Roger Barel (part 1)
Tumblr media
As usual, can’t guarantee 100% accuracy on this.
Kate: Wow…! Roger, come and look at the view!
From the balcony of the villa, you could see the ocean glistening in the setting sun.
From the feeling of the warm sea breeze caressing my cheeks to the smell of the air far different from London’s, everything was fresh.
Roger: Take it easy. Getting too excited on day one can affect you from tomorrow onward.
Kate: I can’t help getting excited at the thought of us spending 6 days on vacation together.
—A week ago while finishing up research, I had proposed that we take a vacation.
It was necessary that we took a proper rest if we wanted to continue being together forever.
Afterward, Victor offered to help when he heard my proposal…
He gave us 6 days off and rented a villa owned by his friend, Viscount Morris, on a lone island.
(I’m going to enjoy my vacation with Roger to the fullest!)
--
—Our first night. We had dinner, bathed, and then lay in bed.
Kate: What do you want to do tomorrow?
Roger: We’re the only ones on the island, right? Then…I wanna love you thoroughly without having to care about being seen.
Roger rolled on top of me and kissed me.
Kate: Mnnn…
With each kiss, my body felt like it was melting.
Mustering what sense I had left, I pushed back against his chest.
Kate: Wait, Roger. Why did we take this trip?
Roger: For pleasure?
Kate: Right! So we’ll do “this” once during our trip so that you can get some rest!
Roger: Only once…but how far is “this”? Are you banning kissing and small touches?
Kate: Then how about we go “all the way” only once.
Roger: So I can put it in once.
Kate: D-don’t just say it out loud like that…!
Roger: We gotta make things clear. But…well, once is enough.
I felt disappointed by how easily he agreed to it.
Roger: What’s with that look? You want more, don’t you?
Kate: I don’t!
Roger laughed at how I denied it with a flushed face.
Roger: …To be honest, there’s something I wanna try out. That’s why I agreed to it.
Kate: Something you want to try out…?
Roger: What do you think about…dragging “nightly activities” over the course of 5 days?
(Five days…?!)
Roger: Doesn’t look like you’re against it.
Kate: I’ve never heard of this, so I’m curious. What does this involve?
Roger: During the first four days, we kiss and touch each other, slowly building up the mood. On the fifth day, we have sex. The time we spend together gives a lot of emotional satisfaction… And an awful lot of pleasure.
(An awful lot of pleasure…)
Roger: …Well, that’s what I heard while at a pub. Don’t know how true it is. It’s a thing that takes 5 days to do, and since we don’t wanna be seen during it, we haven’t had a chance to try it.
(A 6-day long vacation with just the two of us on a lone island, with him only allowed to “put it in once”...)
(...This is the best time to try it out)
Roger: So, how about it?
Kate: O-okay. Let’s do it!
Roger: Haha. I’m the one that brought it up, but you really wanna have sex, huh?
Kate: It’s not that…! Since we’re on vacation, I wanted to fulfill your wish.
Roger: …That so? Thanks. Can’t wait to see how turned on my lover gets over the next 5 days.
--
Thus began the first day.
Kate: Um…Roger. Are we really doing this right?
I was just lying in bed in Roger’s arms.
Roger: Yeah. The first day’s just talking and cuddling ‘til we fall asleep…Feeling unsatisfied?
Kate: N-no! This…isn’t that bad. I’m just happy to get a good night’s sleep with you.
I snuggled against Roger. Enveloped by his warm body heat, I’m sure I’d sleep well today.
(I heard it gives an intense amount of pleasure, but going at this rate, it probably doesn’t do anything)
—4 more days until I regret overestimating this.
--
—Day 2, noon.
Kate: Wow, are we having a barbecue today?!
Meat and vegetables were spread out on a table in the garden of the villa. The aroma of the freshly cooked food made me hungry.
Roger: I just finished cooking. Let’s eat ‘em while they’re hot.
Kate: Thanks for the meal!
I immediately took a bite out of the large piece of meat in front of me.
Kate: Delicious…!
Roger: Hehe. You eat like Ale.
Kate: I…would really like to feed this to Ale.
(Ale was supposed to come with us…)
(But we didn’t bring him with us, but the boat ride would be a burden)
Roger: Ale’s probably getting a nice meal at Crown Castle. …After having some meat, we got this next.
Kate: Ah, there’s beer too!
Roger: Grilled meat and beer is the best combo. I asked for them ahead of time.
After eating some meat, he chugged his beer.
Roger: Phew…that hit the spot!...Come on, you drink some too.
I followed Roger’s lead and had a cup myself.
Kate: This is amazing…!
Roger: Yeah. Having beer and meat during the day…It’s the best way to kick off a vacation. Alright, I’m gonna grill some more so eat all you want.
It was endearing to see how happy Roger looked when grilling meat and vegetables, and then eating and drinking with an innocent smile.
(Ah…Roger’s glittering again)
And I knew it wasn’t because of the sun.
--
—Day 2, night. Today’s step was only touching and kissing.
Kate: Mnn, nn…
Roger kissed me repeatedly.
His large hand cupped my head.
Even something as simple as a gentle kiss was enough to overwhelm me.
Kate: …Roger.
Roger: Hm?
When I said his name, he stopped and looked at me.
I loved the way this egoist’s amber eyes softened as he waited for me to speak.
Kate: I love you…I really love you.
Roger: What’re you saying something so cute for?
Kate: My heart feels so full and I just had to let it out.
Roger: Think my patience is being tested. It’s hard to keep my hands off you.
The desperation in Roger’s voice made my heart speed up.
…But I’ve always felt this way.
(Will I really feel an “awful lot of pleasure” after this?)
Only 3 days left to disprove my doubts.

Too Much Birthday
A sequel of sorts to my @jilytoberfest fic for Day 11 (Small Touches) Written for Day 14, prompt:Surprise Party!
Might be a contender for the fluffiest thing I've ever written if I'm being honest...
AO3 Link Here
“Wow, my mates truly have no shame do they?”
Lily creaks open the door to the boy’s dorm. Records and jumpers litter the floor all the way to where James is leaned up in his bed, a copy of Transfiguration Travails open on his knee.
“Nope—absolutely none for the whole lot of them, but don’t act like you are so shocked.”
James puts the magazine down and sits up. Lily tries not to let her eyes settle on where his shirt is unbuttoned three places more than it should, but the backdrop of his bed is making it even more difficult to ignore. She wonders if he hadn’t just broken up with Maelle a week ago would he be somewhere else, somewhere more festive, rather than holing up in his room.
“Ok Evans. Go on, tell me the pitch.” He smirks and crosses his arms behind his head.
“You aren’t allowed to go downstairs until Sirius comes to get you.”
She says it in her most stern, prefect voice, specifically leaving out some key words in the paraphrasing. What Sirius actually said was to distract him, but seeing as they were alone with his bed easily accessible, the word sounded too charged to repeat.
“Mhm, just what I thought.” An amused smile tugs at his face. “And what is stopping me from just muscling my way past you and down the stairs?”
“I guess my bizarre loyalty to following directions.”
James’ eyes narrow and suddenly Lily wishes she hadn’t agreed to be his keeper for the unforeseeable future. After his break-up, things had been weird between them. He had stopped coming to study in the library, no longer even passing her notes when they were both bored in History of Magic. In all honesty, Sirius coming to her for this favor was the only indication that she wasn’t out of his life entirely.
Perhaps that’s why she agreed to do it, despite knowing how dangerous it is to be left alone with Potter in his room. Because, well, she misses him.
James stands up from the bed and takes a small step forward, eyes narrowed like a cat on the hunt. Lily plays along. She’s been around him long enough to know what his brand of mischief looks like. She takes a wider stance, arms up and poised to fight.
She waits for him to start running at her, maybe make a zig zag approach and slip past. Instead, he walks slowly— deliberate with his steps and a coy smile curling his lips.
Stopping right in front of her, he pushes his hands in his pockets, wildly amused. It's close enough to where she can feel his body heat emanate into her space.
“I’d like to get by now.”
“No chance, Potter.”
Quicker than she can comprehend, she is lifted off the ground. They have never touched like this before but inexplicably she is now in his embrace, being pushed against his chest to hover just a few centimeters away from the floor— a far cry from the knee touches and playful smacks they give each other in the library. She lets out a squeal of surprise, then a pealing Oh! as the reality of his arms, his chest, his gleefully stupid expression all click into place.
He drops her suddenly, eyes wide with remorse. Both hands run through his hair.
“Oh Merlin, I’m so sorry, that was out of line.” He scrubs a hand down his face, attempting to figure out what compelled him to cross the invisible line that separated friendship from something else entirely.
“Hey, it’s fine. I was playing along.”
An understatement; it was more than fine, brilliant even to finally feel what the embrace of James Potter felt like.
He looks around the room, clearly no longer feeling comfortable with the situation. She wants to say there are no hard feelings— but what she really wants is for him to do it again.
“Look, you can tell Sirius that I’ll keep myself up here and you can–”
“No really, it's fine. We were just having a laugh–calling each other’s bluff.” He looks at her with uncertainty but she ignores it.
“Ok, new idea. Why don’t you give me a grand tour of your room?”
James blinks. Any wariness about their previous incident erases from his face as he raises his eyebrows and gestures broadly to the room, spinning around once in place for effect.
“Well—here it is.”
Lily snorts. “That’s not what I mean asshole—I meant your side of the room. Knowing you, you have all kinds of weird bits and bobs hiding around.”
She doesn’t wait for an invitation, walking past him and towards the bed she found him sitting on when she entered. James follows quick at her heels, juggling between bewildered and excited.
“Alright Potter, let's see it.”
She looks around his space. In many ways, it's a visual microcosm of him: a little messy, but with a clear method to the madness. He gestures to the bed, amusement fully restored on his face.
“Well, that’s my bed—I use it for sleeping.”
“Alright, good start.” She can feel a smile cracking on her face.
“And that’s my broom–I use it for quidditch.”
“Groundbreaking.”
“And those are my books—I use them for reading.”
She can’t help but laugh at the stupidity of it all–not even just the tour but everything about the evening so far.
“Wow Potter. Have you ever thought of going into the hospitality business? You make an incredible tour guide.”
She flops herself down on the side of the bed nearest to a stack of books on the nightstand and grabs for the one separated from the rest. He stands there for a moment, eyes lingering on her with red blooming beneath the wire rim of his glasses before sitting next to her, knee jostling hers as the bed moves from his weight.
Lily turns the book in her hand. “The Animal Instinct: My life as the first Animagus.”
He clears his throat. “I like biographies—especially ones written by old bats that make me fall asleep.”
Lily opens the book to where it is marked and recognizes her handwriting on the piece of parchment holding his place. James makes a noise of discomfort, but Lily pulls the note out of his reach.
It is months old, but she recognizes it immediately. It was one of the notes she passed to him during Professor Binns’ lecture on the Thelema Inquisition Act of 1935. Handwriting untidy and smudged, the note reads:
Remind me to tell you about the stupid thing I did in Potions this morning.
It meant nothing really. She couldn’t even remember what stupid thing she had been referring to. Yet, the note was there nonetheless, passing through his hand each time he read before bed.
“I just needed something to mark my page and it was the first thing I found,” he equivocates, running a hand through his hair.
She doesn’t respond, continuing to reread the note. It is a testament to better days—days where James and her were unquestionably mates.
“Hey, can I talk to you about something?”
Maybe it’s because of the note or maybe because she has just invaded his personal space, but she wants to be honest for once.
“After you and Maelle broke up, you started to act really weird with me–like we weren’t friends anymore.” He doesn’t say anything, looking down at his hands that rest in his lap.
“--I understand that you are probably going through a lot, but—I miss you. I just hope you know that if you want to talk, I’m here for you.”
She is staring ahead, but a calloused hand turns her face towards him and his lips meet hers. Suddenly, she can’t think anymore, can’t even remember why she is sitting in that room with him, but she can feel his mouth: warm and soft and gone as fast as it came.
“In all honesty Evans, I have just wanted to do that.”
His hand is still on her cheek and she pulls him back, already feeling addicted to the smell of his skin and how his lips know the perfect pressure to press into hers.
Their kisses are full of smiles and laughter as much as sighs and groans of contentment. Even after what seems like eternity, neither pulls away, both able to feel that anything beyond their space together is a speck of dust in comparison.
“Sirius will probably call for us soon–” She says it just as a matter of fact, but her mind is very far from whatever his mates have prepared for him for the rest of the evening.
“Don’t care. Don’t need a party,” he says through his kisses, each one as tender and loving as the last.
“You sure? I heard Sirius got you a real lion—”
“I’m not one for extravagance—I’m very modest as you know.”
She laughs and he catches it with his mouth. Joy bursting from both of them.
“Going down there would be too much birthday, I reckon. Might as well play it safe and stay up here.”
She lets him keep kissing her, only stopping so they tangle closer together. She knows eventually Sirius will come bounding up the stairs, searching for the man of the hour, but until then, she will keep on holding him close, happiness more infectious with each passing second.
After all, it is his birthday.

x
All you can think about is Bucky’s lips on yours and his hand on your ass. What he said that night was true: you weren’t enjoying your date with Brandon. He’s arrogant, only thinks about himself, loves to hear himself talk, and is a complete douche. Bucky is everything Brandon isn’t. Bucky is sweet, caring, thoughtful, and very bold. If your years of flirting told you anything, Bucky is a cheeky flirt but only for you.
He doesn’t do that to anyone else in the office.
You avoided Bucky the entire weekend to gather your thoughts and prepare yourself to see him. He texted you a couple of times but understood you might need your space, especially when he knows he might have overwhelmed you. You pull into the parking lot on Monday morning with a racing heart and sweaty palms. The second you get out of your car, you feel his presence behind you. He must have been waiting for you to show up even though you’re one of the only ones who show up before everyone else.
Bucky’s body heat radiates off him so much that you can feel it on your skin even though you’re wearing clothes. He doesn’t have to say anything to make you aware of how he’s feeling. He grabs your waist and turns you so you’re facing him, and he leans down to kiss you. His lips are only on yours for a few seconds before you pull away with a nervous giggle.
“Do I make you nervous?”
“Yes. You’re very intimidating… in a good way,” you quickly add.
“Alright, I’m sorry,” he chuckles and backs up to give you some space. “I want to take you out tonight. What do you say? Will you go on a date with me?”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” you smile.
You lock your car and the two of you walk to the police station together. You walk ahead of him to get to your desk and he not-so-subtly checks your ass out in your dress.
“I have got to say, that dress is working for you. You look gorgeous.”
You look down at the frilly dress you bought this weekend. It’s baby pink with white flowers on it, and it’s completely appropriate for work. You wiggle your hips to make it shake and Bucky laughs.
“Thank you. It’s new.”
Bucky winks at you as he walks to the back where his desk is. You immediately get to work and sort through your emails as the rest of the officers file into the building. You greet them all like you do every morning, smiling at Sam when he walks in.
“Hey, how was your weekend?”
“Probably not better than yours,” he grins. “I hear two certain someones are together now?”
“Wow, word travels fast here, huh?”
“Well, it’s hard not to when our desks are so close together. Not that I’m surprised. You two have always had that spark. I’m kind of jealous if I’m being honest.”
“I didn’t know you wanted Bucky like that,” you joke.
“Har-har,” Sam rolls his eyes with a smile. “No, I never had that connection with anyone before. Look at me, I’m thirty-eight and still single.”
“Don’t stress about it. It’s going to happen. You’re a great guy who deserved someone equally as great.”
“Thanks, sweetheart.”
Sam heads to his desk to begin his work day while you finish checking your emails. It takes an hour to get through all of them, and you close the browser once you’re done. You lean back to take a small five-minute break when the front doors to the station open. Brandon storms inside with an angry look on his face, and you immediately stand up in shock.
“Brandon, what--”
“Where is Officer Barnes?” he sneers.
Someone clears their throat from behind you, and you look to see Bucky leaning on the door frame that separates the lobby and the officers’ desks.
“Right here.” Bucky walks to your desk and stands next to it. Has he been there the entire time? “Can I help you?”
Brandon takes out the ticket that he issued him on Friday along with the bill from his mechanic. He practically throws the two pieces of paper in his face, and you watch as they flutter to the counter.
“My taillight wasn’t fucking broken. I went to the mechanic who told me everything was fine.”
Bucky crosses his arms which makes his arms look bigger than they are. If you’re being honest, he looks hot right now, especially in his uniform. His police belt fits snugly around his waist, and his ass looks good in the black slacks they provide for him.
“They were broken when I looked at them.”
This only pisses Brandon off more.
“You’re going to pay my mechanic bill!”
“Sir, you need to calm down.”
Again, Brandon rages at how calm Bucky is. How were you ever on a date with this guy? He never showed this type of anger when it was just the two of you.
“This is so fucking stupid! This entire place is crawling with corrupt cops.” Brandon’s wild eyes land on your wide ones. He raises his hand and points a crooked finger at you while taking a step toward you. “You’re no fucking better.”
Bucky jumps into action, grabs his outstretched arm, and pins it behind his back. He slams Brandon facedown onto your desk, and you jump at the sudden action. Bucky reaches behind him and grabs his handcuffs so he can slap them on Brandon’s wrists.
“Don’t you point your fucking finger at her. You need to calm down before you get arrested,” Bucky threatens.
You watch Bucky handle the situation with ease, and you bite your lower lip in thought. The commotion catches the attention of a few officers, and Sam rushes into the main lobby.
“What is going on here?”
“Take him to holding,” Bucky says and yanks Brandon upright. Sam knows better than to question Bucky right now. He grabs Brandon’s arm and escorts him out of the room. You quickly turn and leave the main lobby to gather your thoughts. “Doll, wait!” Bucky follows you to an empty hallway. “Hey, don’t worry. He won’t hurt you.”
“That’s not it,” you shake your head.
“What is it?”?” he asks. He steps closer to you. “What are you thinking about?”
“That was hot,” you say with a blush.
Bucky smirks and places his left hand on the wall, semi-trapping you there.
“Oh, yeah?”
You give him a shy nod, and he cups your jaw with his right hand. His hand is so big that it rests mostly on your neck, and he still has enough room to rub his thumb on your skin. He pulls you closer and kisses you. He’s so magnetic and surrounds you in everything you do. This time, you embrace the kiss instead of pulling away from him.
Brandon spent the entire day in lockup and was let go before your shift ended. Like what Bucky has done so many times before, he waits for you to get off just so he can walk you to your car. He can make the excuse he doesn’t want Brandon to come back and hurt you, but it’s really so he can spend more time with you.
“Thank you for walking me to my car,” you smile at him.
“Anytime, Doll. I’ll pick you up at eight, okay?”
“Okay.”
You and Bucky go your separate ways, and you drive home wondering where Bucky is going to take you. What kind of man is Bucky? Where would he take a girl on the first date? You get home an hour and a half before Bucky wants to pick you up, so you have time to take a shower and change into something cuter. You have a knee-length dress with pockets that you’ve been wanting to wear that you think would be perfect for this.
Once you’re done with your shower, you do your hair and makeup before getting dressed. You’ve just finished when you hear someone knock on your door. You check the final look in the mirror by the front door before opening it.
Bucky is out of his police uniform and decided to wear something more casual. His jeans hug his ass perfectly, his muscles are well defined in the thin Henley he threw on, and his hair is tousled perfectly. He takes one look at you and whistles lowly in appreciation.
“Damn. You look amazing.”
“Thank you. You don’t look too bad yourself.”
“Shall we?” he offers his arm.
“Of course.”
You take his arm, and he leads you to his Mercedes AMG GT. His house is only twenty minutes from your place, but it feels longer with Bucky’s hand on your thigh for the entire trip. You really like him, you’re just so nervous around him. Flirting with him is way different than allowing him into your life like this. You’ve been burned before, so you’re a bit cautious when it comes to guys you let in. You don’t want to ruin this thing you have with Bucky because of your nerves so you’re going to take it one step at a time.
Bucky reaches his house with ease and pulls into his driveway.
“I hope you don’t mind a night in.”
“Actually, I really like that. It’s just us.”
“Exactly,” he smiles.
You’ve never seen the inside of his place despite knowing him for two years. He’s always been a private person which you valued. It’s tough to know what he’s thinking at times, which makes him even more mysterious than usual. His house is very minimalistic with very few pictures on the wall and not a lot of things to suggest that someone lives here. Your place is the complete opposite because you have pictures and trinkets everywhere in your house.
“I’m going to cook for you tonight. I figure some good food, delicious wine, and some slow music would make the perfect first date.”
“You’re making me blush,” you chuckle and touch your heated cheeks.
“That’s good, yeah?” he chuckles and leads you to the kitchen.
“Yeah.”
The kitchen is very clean and large with a large kitchen island in the middle of the room. He grabs a bottle of your favorite wine and pours two glasses. You’re not much of a cook so you’re content with sitting here and watching him do all of the work. While you take your spot at the kitchen island, Bucky gets to work cooking.
Bucky at work in his police uniform is very attractive, but seeing him barefoot in his own kitchen cooking expertly is a sight in itself. He looks so calm compared to the hard act he puts on at work. Sure, you two flirt, but he doesn’t really smile much unless it’s with you. Here, he’s free to be himself and it shows.
His muscles flex whenever he chops the food up, and you can see his back muscles move when he is flipping the food in the pan. You're already halfway done with your wine when he is almost done cooking, and you decide to pace yourself before you get a bit too tipsy and ruin this. Your fingers dance along the rim of the glass as you admire him.
“Do I have something on my face?” he chuckles and plates the food.
“Have I ever told you how attractive you are?”
“Once or twice.”
“Well, you are.”
“Are you a lightweight? Do you need some water?”
“No, I can hold my alcohol. I’m just… happy.”
Bucky smiles but doesn’t say anything as he finishes with the plate. He cooked something you’ve never had before but are willing to try.
“That’s all I ever want you to be with me,” he says honestly. “Food’s ready.”
You grab the wine and he takes the food to the dining room where there is a big table meant for ten or more people. But tonight, it’s just you two so he takes the end seat and the one to the right of it.
“I hope you like it. It’s something new I tried a couple of days ago. I figure the best person to try it out would be you.”
You cut into your food and take a bite, and you almost moan at how good it tastes.
“This is so fucking good. You’re really good at cooking. Have you ever taken classes?”
“No, my mom taught me everything I know. After she died, I really started getting serious about it to keep her memory alive.”
“That’s so sweet.”
“Yeah, she always cooked this vegetable soup every week in high school. It didn’t matter what I had planned. I wanted to be home to eat it.”
“She sounded amazing,” you smile and take another sip of your wine.
“She was. You would have liked her.”
“So, what were you like in high school? Would I have talked to you?”
“I was a bit of a player,” he chuckles nervously. “I don’t think you would have gone for me but I would have definitely gone for you.”
“I don’t know. Bad boys were kind of my forte.” You smirk mischievously and eat some more. “I was a book girl who did her school work. I guess I wanted someone like you to come in and sweep me off my feet.”
“Am I doing it now?”
“Oh, you are definitely doing it now,” you laugh.
You and Bucky fill the rest of the meal with light chatter about both your pasts until you’re both done with your food. He takes your hand and leads you to the living room so you can move this party to the couch.
“Have you always been like this? Where are pictures of your friends and family? It looks so bare.”
“I never had any need to put pictures up.”
“What about your family? Your mom?”
“Yeah, I have pictures in the basement. Everything about me is down there. I just never had any desire to put them up.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll liven this place up in no time,” you grin and sip your wine.
Bucky gently takes the glass from you when you’re done and places both yours and his on the sleek coffee table. He leans back onto the couch and pulls you closer by your hips. You’re not quite on his lap but close enough to where you can sit on it with one move. He slides his right hand in your hair and pulls you into him so he can kiss you.
Kissing him feels like Heaven because he knows exactly what he’s doing. His lips move expertly over yours and his tongue swipes against your lower lip. You open your mouth to let him in, and he moves his hands over your hips to pull you onto his lap.
“Wait, wait,” you pulls away with a pant.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah. Like I said before, you’re kind of intimidating and I’m kind of nervous. Can we just lay here tonight? Just me and you?”
“Of course. I never want to make you do anything you’re not comfortable with.”
“Thank you,” you smile and peck his lips.
Bucky shifts on the couch so that he’s lying flat on it, and you lay your entire body over his like a small child would do with their parent. Bucky runs his hands up and down your back gently and you put your ear over his heartbeat since its rhythm calms you.
What you have with Bucky is rare and you don’t want to mess it up by going too fast. He’s too important to you.

Imagine Karma having a bad day and a smart af reader who can see through him instantly catches on and tries to do little things to make him feel better but doesn't do anything direct bc they know that Karma isn't so great with admitting he's upset and he eventually opens up and cuddles up to them and omGHW RKSIAJWWNAOQ
KARMA X READER WHO READS HIM LIKE AN OPEN BOOK
This took like 2 weeks I’m sorry there’s so many requests 😭
Tumblr media
Karma has never been the best at hiding how he feels, it never even seems like he tries to as he’s very open and honest about what he thinks.
No one can really read him except for you.
He doesn’t know wether to think of that as a good thing or not. You understand him but is having someone like that something he wants?
He sits down next to you in the morning for first period. He came late and he has this grouchy look on his face, you ask him what’s wrong.
he brushes you off “It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.”
It was obviously something still you didn’t want to be pushy.
The rest of the day you could tell something was weighing on his mind so you made it your life’s (or days) mission to make him feel better.
You spent the rest of the day trying to cheer him up
passing him notes during class, (Korosensei sees you but doesn’t stop you from doing it when he sees Karma smiling while reading them)
Messing with him during your sparring session
“[Name] you sure you want to fight me? I’m not going easy on you.” (He totally will)
“You don’t have too! I’ve been practicing too.”
mid way the fight you realize you overestimated yourself, even with him letting you hit him it was somehow hurting you more.
“[Name] I’ve seen cats that hit harder than yo— PffttHAHAHA WHY DOES YOU TICKLING ME HURT MORE??”
you realize there was no beating him through sheer will but you did know he was ticklish and that’s a big enough weakness to exploit.
You were also just being extra corny all day just for the sake of it
“This (love) song reminds me of you.”
“[name] that’s so chessy it’s gross.” he says trying to hide the smile creeping up his face
You went to his house to hang out for a while
“Karma, let’s watch [insert really overrated action move]!”
“I thought you said you didn’t want to last time.”
“You like it right? I want to watch something you like.”
His heart exploded right then and there. How could someone be so sweet without realizing it
mid way through the movie his spirits seemed raised so you ask.
“Karma do you mind me asking why you were upset today?”
“t’s really nothing I’m surprised you could even tell. No one else said anything.”
“I just pay extra attention to you, they didn’t say anything cause you have resting bitch face”
“Obsessed much?”
“As if! seriously though, what happened?” You had to push further for him to admit anything actually happened
“I just got into a fight with some stupid guy”
“Really? That’s it? You get into fights like everyday.”
“It’s a long story. Him and his friends were talking about you and it really set me off because I’d already had a shitty morning— my parents called to tell me they already made plans to travel to New York after they told me they’d stay here for atleast a month?”
“Oh wow- I’m sorry Karma, I know they promised and everything.”
“Yeah. Uhm sorry— I didn’t mean to unload that much.”
(Sorry??? He says sorry??)
“Huh? You don’t have to apologize, I want to know these things cause I care.”
“Oh. Thanks [name], you’re the only person I’d ever tell these things too.”
“Whys that?”
“I trust you too much, who knows when you’ll blackmail me with this.”
“Blackmail is your thing not mine!”
“Mhm, that’s what a blackmailer would say. Anyways let’s finish the movie the best part is coming up!”
“I was hoping you forgot we were watching that snooze fest.”
“In what world is [super mega overrated action movie] a snooze fest??“
“Do you hear yourself right now..?”
“You don’t see me complaining when you make me watch those romance dramas you like.”
“What are you saying, you never shut up about how unrealistic the scenes are.”
“Cause they ARE— in what world do guys get in car crashes, stay in mid air for 5 minutes and look good while doing it??”
“…in what world does an antihero ninja go around fighting people to save humanity.”
“To be fair we’re trying to kill an alien octopus to save the world from exploding these days.”
“Yeah.. if you asked me a year ago which of these events were most likely to happen I wouldn’t have guessed alien octopus world explosion.”
“Right, to be honest the car accident in true beauty seems fairly realistic in comparis- [Name] LOOK THATS THE SCENE!”
in the end you fell asleep on the floor together when you woke up he complained about how you slept though it. (He fell asleep 5 minutes after you.)

it’s the thought that counts | mark lee
Tumblr media
synopsis in which your lovely boyfriend, mark, decides to make you breakfast, at least that was his intention.
genre fem!reader, nonidol!au, established relationship, slice of life, and fluff
warnings domestic, pet names (baby), and honestly just mark (making an attempt at) cooking lol
word count 1k
a/n in honor of the new dream x dream episode aka marksung bumbling in the kitchen for our entertainment :D
Tumblr media
Sundays were the designated days for you and Mark to relax. Sleep in, laze around, ignore any other human contact, you name it— Sundays were for those exact reasons. With every week after the other coming with some version of turmoil for the both of you, it was owed that you just had a day squared off where you could just be.
Though, you found in your time on this Earth that life had its skilled ways of disrupting your peace. And sometimes it liked to use your ever so lovely boyfriend, Mark, as a pawn in its schemes.
The familiar, unwelcome smell of what you could simply put as burnt wafted into your nostrils, leaving your serene sleep to be quickly interrupted as the stench violently awoke all your senses.
“Mark!”
As if you had been in this exact predicament before, your comforter was flipped off of your once warm and comfortable body. You quickly became acquainted with the unpleasant change in warmth, your drive to figure out why it smelled like a bonfire was taking place in your apartment outweighing your want to be cozy in your covers again.
“Heyyy…” Mark greeted you with an uneasy smile, pausing in his ministrations of fanning away the smoke that emitted from your stove.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Still practically half-asleep, your voice comes off more brash than you intend. The squinting of your eyes from the sharp change in light did nothing to help your case— you must’ve looked and sounded like a dead girl walking.
On reflex, Mark scratches the back of his nape as he gazes down at the problem he’s caused. “I thought I’d wake up a lil’ earlier and cook us some breakfast but—uh— as you can see…”
“Not going too well?” Your eyebrow quirks.
The paper plate Mark was using to disperse the smoke met the counter ahead of him with a pathetic smack, his hands coming to join it as he braced himself against the granite. “Yeah. Sorry to wake you like this… I just wanted to do something different—”
Your features softened at Mark’s clear frustration. It never took much to have Mark back in your good graces. He was just too genuine and honest that you couldn’t help but have your hostility dissipate. “It’s okay, babe. I appreciate the effort— oh wow—!”
The reality of the situation fully settled with you as you gravitated closer to Mark. Charred bacon that nearly melded to the pan of the same color and strewn sunny-side up eggs being the culprits of the unusual start to your day.
“Mark, how can you possibly mess up eggs this badly?” Instinctively, your hand moves forward to push around the sloppy eggs with the spatula that sat with them.
“I don’t know!” His whine comes out muffled from the act of Mark rubbing his hands over his face discontentedly.
“Here,” you bumped your hip into his own, signaling for him to step out of the way and to allow you to stand where he once did.
Your immediate instinct was to rid Mark’s rendition of breakfast into the garbage before stopping by your fridge to gather the ingredients for round two. Now, fully awake, you stood opposite of your stove rhythmically cracking eggs and frying bacon that you were sure to keep a close eye on.
Mark, after watching you gracefully glide around the kitchen, comes to wrap his arms around your waist with his head landing in its rightful spot on your shoulder. You shudder, with his nose and lips brushing against the junction of your neck.
“How did I get so lucky?” Your actions falter for a moment when a brief kiss is pressed to your soft skin and you force yourself to bite back a smile. Refusing to let this situation get too far away from him just yet, you speak through the fluster your boyfriend has brought upon you.
“The universe knew you needed a decent cook to balance out the fact you should never step foot in a kitchen, ever.”
Light laughter shudders through your body as you can basically picture Mark’s offended expression towards you, you try your best to keep your focus on the stove opposite of you as he leans away from your body in disbelief.
“C’mon, I didn’t do that bad!” Mark insists, a whiny twinge in his voice.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Were you intending on serving me bacon or charcoal?” You deliver a blow, momentarily drawing your attention away from the food to gage his reaction. A snort ripples through your chest at his unenthusiastic response to you, his eyes cutting into thin lines.
“Ha ha, very funny,” he sneers, constricting you closer to him as your punishment. “I was intending on make my beautiful girlfriend some breakfast. Isn’t that enough?”
You hum, becoming nearly pudding in your boyfriend’s hold. “I love you, baby. But, unfortunately, it is not.”
Mark sighs, pulling his best pout as his grip loosened on your waist. “Fine, fine. I’ll leave you be, then…”
“Good. I don’t want your lack of talent in the kitchen rubbing off on me.” Assuming you’ve had the final word, you turn your attention back to the food again— giggling to yourself as you can feel Mark’s eyes burning into you once again.
Mark takes advantage of the fact you’re distracted and tickles right under your arms. Leaving you to jolt and burst into immediate laughter that pulls straight from your stomach.
“Mark!” You whirl around and smack against his chest.
He laughs along with you, holding your flailing wrists back from further thwacking him. “You were saying?”
“That you’re a wonderful cook?”
“That’s what I thought.” Mark graces you with a peck on the cheek before finally giving you the space to pick up where he abruptly left off, backing up to the refrigerator to rifle through it.
“Did you want coffee or tea? Oh shoot, I forgot we got orange juice too…”
You ponder for a moment, skillfully flipping slices of bacon. “Coffee is fine.”
“Alright, one cup of coffee coming right up,” Mark announces before humming to a random song as he enthusiastically began making your order.
As you inevitably smile and giggle at your boyfriend, you suddenly feel grateful for the uninvited start to your morning and grateful for the universe’s (& Mark’s) unprecedented ways.

Could you possibly do Five x Reader where Five and the reader have a fight and the reader storms off. The next time Five sees them, they're in the infirmity, comatose, and no one is sure when, or even IF, the reader will wake up. Five has to sit with his regrets that the last thing he said was something he didn't mean and that he wasn't there to protect them when they needed it. When the Reader wakes up, Five breaks down in happiness, giving the reader all the love he can. Heavy Angst with a bit of fluff cause I like happy endings. Lol. Thank you!
This gave me serious flashbacks to the end of No Hard Feelings. Hope you enjoy this. Nothing like a bit of angst. Here ya go!
Dickhead Sugar Daddy | Five Hargreeves / GN Reader Words: 2.8k, rated T
Tumblr media
It was such a stupid fight. He didn’t even believe what he said the moment he said it.
He insisted that you take that money. He wasn’t the type of guy to beg, but he came damn close. He watched you struggling to pay medical debt for an entire year before you let him pay it off for you. Until then, you were too proud to accept his help. He told you again and again that it wasn’t a big deal. It was only in four figures and his father left behind more money than he could ever use, even when divided among all his siblings.
“I’d give it to a friend,” he said, “even if you and I don’t work out, it doesn’t matter. Gotta be honest, I wouldn’t even notice if that amount disappeared from one of my accounts. You owe me nothing, okay?”
He could tell it made you uncomfortable and, truth be told, he didn’t much like the feeling of being a sexagenarian trust fund brat so out of touch with ordinary life that this amount of money wasn’t even a blip on his radar. After you finally accepted his offer, he hoped you could both just forget about it.
So why had he been such a colossal asshole?
The argument was about housework on top and booze underneath. Neither of you wanted to state the obvious fact that Five’s binge-drinking was becoming a problem so, instead, you fought about the consequences.
“God, turn that thing off, will you?” he shouted, irritably over the roar of the vacuum.
“Don’t talk to me like that.”
“Well, I’m sorry, darling,” he said, testily, “I just feel like shit, alright? I don’t need the goddamn vacuum in my ear.”
“Well, sorry Five, but the world doesn’t stop because you’ve got a hangover. My friend’s coming tomorrow and you promised we’d clean up today.”
“Here’s the thing: this is your friend, not mine.”
“But this is our home,” you snapped back, “we both live here and this is half your mess. You’ve been shitty about this all week.”
“Oh, so I can’t be busy?” he replied, smiling sarcastically.
“Oh yeah. So ‘busy’,” you said, doing the air quotes that would have made him punt you through a wall were you absolutely anybody else, “- busy farting around with math and looking for non-existent paradoxes around every corner.”
“It’s theoretical physics, moron. Maybe your tiny brain can’t comprehend what I’m doing, but I can assure you it’s more important than the shitty job you do all day.”
“Oh wow.” you said, laughing disbelievingly, “Well fuck you, dickhead.”
“Yeah?” he said, fire behind his eyes, “well don’t come crying to this dickhead the next time you need a sugar daddy.”
Your mouth dropped open. You stood there, frozen, looking into his face. Later, Five thought it could have gone either way in that moment: if only he’d apologized, perhaps he could still have stopped it.
But he would never know, because he didn’t apologize: he just let his shittiest, most insolent smile spread across his face.
You threw down the vacuum, grabbed your jacket and left without looking back.
At the time, Five considered it a job well done, only glad for the opportunity to rest his banging head. Over the following days, however, he would play your departure over and over in his head, scouring his memory for everything that proved his guilt.
You were agitated; probably too agitated to pay attention: his fault.
You were hurt; perhaps hurt enough to do something impulsive: his fault.
You were enraged; maybe your final thoughts as you stepped off the sidewalk were of how much you hated him. And it was all his fault.
He didn’t even know he was your emergency contact.
By the time the phone rang, he’d hauled himself off his ass and cleaned in preparation for your friend’s visit. He also guiltily made a reservation at your favorite restaurant, hoping to apologise over dinner.
So when he answered the phone, he expected your voice:
“Hi. Can I speak to Mr Hargreeves?”
It wasn’t your voice. It was a stranger.
“There are a few of us,” he replied, “you’re gonna have to be more specific there.”
“Mr Five Hargreeves?”
“Speaking.”
“Right. Hello. Uh- I’m a paramedic. I found this number in a patient’s phone’s I.C.E.”
He could barely register the rest of her explanation. As soon as he heard those four words: ‘hit by a bus’, his entire body went cold. His stalled brain could only repeat it again and again as horror encroached slowly into every fiber of his body.
Hit by a bus. A bus?...Hit by a bus?
He was only brought back to a sense of the here and now by the repeated summons of the voice on the other end of the line.
“Sir?....Sir?”
“Hit by a bus?” he asked, weakly, trying to keep a firm handle on his swimming head.
“Sir, I think you should sit down.”
He took the advice and collapsed into the straight-backed chair beside the phone, eyes fixed straight ahead of himself.
“I’m sitting down. I sat down.”
“Good. Now listen to me: you should try to get here as soon as possible. Give me your address and I’ll call you a cab, okay?”
“I don’t need a-”
“Sir,” the voice said, sternly, “give me your address. You don’t sound like you’re in a fit state to drive.”
Drive? He could as easily drive as he could fly right now. His legs trembled beneath him, his brain sending confusing, bewildered signals. He never folded in stressful situations, yet here he was shaking like a leaf.
“Sir?”
“My brothers,” he blurted, “I’ll get a ride from one of them.”
The paramedic was satisfied with this and gave him the hospital name again very slowly and deliberately. After accepting her good wishes and slamming the phone back in its cradle, he willed his body back into action, stumbling down the stairs and screaming for anyone who might be around.
Lila answered his call, and one look at his shocked, white face told her that this was serious.
As soon as he could have expected, he was entering your hospital room. Lila offered to accompany him, but he dismissed her with muted thanks. This was something he had to face alone.
Your face: bruised purple and cuts newly stitched. Your left leg: in a cast that went all the way up. But the doctors weren’t worried about the broken bones, they were worried by the head injury.
Comatose.
You were comatose because of him.
Standing there in the doorway, he was hit by his own bus. His guts constricted, breath catching in his chest.
“Don’t come crying to this dickhead next time you need a sugar daddy.”
As his own words echoed back to him, he squeezed his eyes closed, shutting out the sight and trying to gather himself. But it was too late. He whooped in a breath and felt the hot sting of suppressed tears behind his eyes.
All he could do was wait, they told him. The brain had a remarkable capacity to repair itself, they said. You might wake up and be just fine...but you also might not wake up at all.
He swiped at his face with his forearm.
Seconds were useless now: you needed seconds as soon as you stepped out into the road. If only he’d followed and apologized like he should have done immediately, he would have been there. He might have stopped it happening before it did, or he could have wound back time and undone it.
But now, hours since you were hit? His puny time-travel powers couldn’t help, not without decades of planning and tinkering and paradox-proofing. Perhaps more years than he had left to live.
If only he hadn’t been such a cunt in the first place. None of it would have happened.
“I’m sorry.” he whispered, from behind his own forearm held across his face, “Fuck. I’m so sorry.”
He sat at your bedside, teeth gritted against the tears he wouldn’t give himself the luxury of crying. He held your hand tight, as if torrential water might sweep you away were it not for him anchoring you.
He held your hand as if his grip might tether you to life.
And his mind preyed upon itself.
Yet again, his own selfishness had hurt someone he loved. And this time it was the person he loved more than anything. First, he abandoned his siblings for the sake of his own ego and now he’d probably killed you because he was a cruel, spiteful asshole.
“Don’t come crying to this dickhead next time you need a sugar daddy.”
He sat in silence for the rest of the daylight hours, listening to your heart monitor. Every new beep was a relief, the spaces between were looming and fear-filled. The silence held the possibility that the next beep might never come.
When darkness fell and the hospital’s bustle fell to a low ebb, he leaned forward and laid his head beside yours on the pillow.
“Please don’t die.”
And hearing himself say it was all it took for the dam to break. He couldn’t keep the tears in anymore. He cried like he hadn’t cried since those first years in the apocalypse, when he’d still been young enough to sob ‘I wanna go home!’ and ‘I want my mom!’ into the unhearing wasteland.
“Please.” he said, burying his red, tear-streaked face in your hair, “Please don’t leave me. I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it. I promise I didn’t.”
He tore in two or three gasping breaths.
“Please, angel. Don’t leave me. I can’t- I can’t-”
But he was crying too hard to speak. He raised his fist to his mouth and bit down on it to contain the wails clawing their way up his throat and threatening to burst bounds.
Cutting white teeth marks into his knuckles, he cried it out until he could control himself; until his voice could stay steady.
“You gotta wake up,” he whispered, “I can’t do this on my own anymore. I need you, okay? I’ll be better. I’ll be whatever you need me to be. Just don’t leave me.”
Another shaky breath.
“-you’re the fucking love of my life. I love you so much and without you I can’t even- I can’t.”
He screwed up his eyes again, trying to keep himself from re-dissolving.
“I can’t imagine getting up without you any more. I can’t imagine going to sleep without you. There wouldn’t be any point, y’know? I may as well just…”
He never finished the sentence. He felt like muscles and tendons in his chest were being pulled apart by strong hands.
Day time. He hadn’t slept, hadn’t washed, hadn’t eaten. He spent most of his time in the chair beside the bed, holding your hand in his, but he occasionally perched beside you on the bed, stroking your hair and talking almost nonstop.
“You’re gonna have to wake up soon, darling.” he said, “They say they’ll have to give you a feeding tube if you’re asleep for much longer. You won’t like that. So how about this: you always hate it when I don’t eat. You loom over me while I’m working and make me eat. So- how do you like this: I’m not gonna eat until you do.”
He made a satisfied noise as if you’d responded.
“Exactly- you don’t want that, do you. So you gotta wake up- it's the only way you can make sure I eat. I've got you there, haven't I?”
He looked down at his own hand over yours.
“And, to sweeten the deal, if you wake up before they have to put the feeding tube in, you get breakfast in bed every day for two months after we get home. And I’ll massage your feet on demand. Shit, I’ll let the world end rather than miss a single minute with you. I’m going to be better. I’ll do better with the booze. I swear, I’m going to be the perfect man. You deserve that. You deserve better. Please. Just wake up.”
What started off as light humor had devolved again into the desperate bargaining of the night.
He looked down at his shoes and felt exhaustion wash over him. He rubbed at his eyes with the palm of one hand and wished he had the faith requisite to pray.
A groan.
His head snapped back up so abruptly that it twinged his neck. His eyes scanned your face for any sign of life and found none. Just as he thought he’d imagined the sound, your hand twitched in his.
“Oh my God,” he whispered.
Eyebrows knitted, he sprang to his feet and called your name urgently, leaning towards you and resisting the urge to take you by the shoulders and shake you.
“Come on,” he urged, “say something. Open your eyes. Please, just let me know you’re in there.”
Slowly, and seemingly with as much effort as if your eyelids were weighted with iron, your eyes drifted open. They were vague and bloodshot, but they held his gaze.
“That’s it!” he said.
Tears, of joy this time, fell thick and fast again.
“Oh, thank fuck. I can’t believe it. Oh, fuck.”
Your mouth opened and a rusty voice spoke.
“Hello.”
“I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.”
He bent towards you and held you to him as tightly as he could in your delicate state. His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest. Relief and euphoria rushed through his every atom. He kissed your forehead, each cheek and peppered several more across your nose and chin. He was too uncontrolled, too carried away by his own gladness to have finesse. Each kiss made a gentle smack against your skin.
“Who are you?” came your voice.
And it was like the sun going in. He straightened up, cautiously.
“It’s Five, angel,” he said, gently, “You remember me, right?”
“I’ve never seen you before in my life.”
His breath caught in his throat.
You had a brain injury. For some reason he hadn’t prepared himself for the fact that some things might be permanently broken.
But then your face broke into a hazy smile, and a halting creak issued from your chest. If he wasn’t mistaken, that sounded like-
“Ah wait, you’re that dickhead sugar daddy I know, aren’t you?”
You were laughing. You were fucking with him.
Another wave of relief coursed through him. He bent again and kissed you with a pumping heart and tightening lungs. His lips parted yours, desperate, tender and giddy.
“I love you,” he said, between kisses,”I love you, I love you. I c-can’t believe you’re okay!”
And again he was sobbing. He laid his forehead on yours and cried unashamedly into your face. One of your hands drifted slowly upwards and came to rest heavily on his shoulder. He cried that way for a few minutes while you looked up at him dreamily.
Eventually, when his crying began to lessen, you began to giggle slightly madly. He withdrew, looking down at you in a moment of confusion.
And then it hit him: the dosage of medication.
You laughed harder, your hand coming to thump him on the shoulder as something hilarious occurred to you.
“Guess what. Guess what, Five: now I’m gonna have…even more…medical…debt!”
You dissolved into a peal of helpless laughter, which he couldn’t help but join in with despite all his tears.
“Don’t think about that now. Dickhead sugar daddy’s got your back.”
He continued more seriously when his laughter subsided.
“I fucked up bad. I’m so sorry. I was sorry less than ten minutes after you left. I didn’t mean it.”
With the attitude of one who’s won a bet, you pointed at him weakly,
“Now you have to make me breakfast in bed every day for two months.”
“I will,” he grinned, “if you say you forgive me?”
You smiled but didn’t answer, letting out another little burble of laughter.
He decided that now might be a bad time to talk about what happened in too much detail. There would be time for heart-to-hearts when you weren’t dosed up on enough pain meds to knock out a bull elephant.
Instead, he kicked off his shoes and brought his legs up so that he lay on the very edge of the bed while taking up as little space as possible. He laid his head gently on your shoulder and heard you sigh with contentment.
Here it was: his longed-for second chance.
He felt his eyelids growing heavy. All was right with the world now.
“I don’t want the perfect man,” you mumbled.
“Huh?” he said, rousing himself.
“I don’t want the perfect man,” you repeated, “I want you.”

Parings → Peter Parker x Reader
Warnings → fake dating, friends to lovers, slow burn, angst, jealousy, fluff
Summary → Peter Parker’s plan to win back his ex by fake dating you leads to unexpected real feelings and a genuine connection.
𝐀/𝐍 - I'm sorry if your name is Jessica. Change it as you like.
Tumblr media
Jessica had broken up with Peter and found herself a senior boy, claiming Peter was too innocent-minded to give her what she wanted. As a senior at Midtown High, Jessica had been Peter’s girlfriend for only two months, but her intentions were far from genuine. A popular cheerleader with an attitude straight out of a high school movie, she had only been with Peter for his homework, though Peter was blissfully unaware of this.
Now, after the breakup, Peter believed he was ready to take the next step and win Jessica back.
Peter and Ned were standing at Peter’s locker, watching from afar as Jessica flirted with a senior jock.
"Ned, I really want her back. I’m ready now, but she won’t even look at me. I tried talking to her."
"We’ve got to plan something. Hey, what if…"
"What?" Peter leaned in, curious.
"No, never mind."
"Oh, come on, man. Tell me."
"What if you fake date someone and make her jealous so she’ll come back to you?"
"Ned, you’re brilliant!"
"I know," Ned said with a proud smile.
"But who would want to fake date me? I don’t even have money to offer." Peter pouted.
"We’ll figure it out. Maybe someone kind-hearted and friendly would be willing to help. What about MJ?"
"Oh, she’d skin me alive before even hearing the plan."
"True. We’ll look for candidates then."
The next morning, Peter and Ned were back at Peter’s locker, determined to find someone to help. Ned’s eyes fell on you as you stood at your locker, just one down from Peter’s.
"What about her? She’s nice. I have two classes with her," Ned whispered.
"Um, not to be rude or anything, but she can’t compete with Jessica. I mean, look at Jessica and then look at her," Peter whispered back.
You were a short girl, standing at just 5 feet 1 inch, and you wore glasses. Not a nerd, but because of your glasses, people assumed you were. Jessica, on the other hand, was a school beauty—someone everyone wanted to be like.
Unfortunately for Peter, he and Ned weren’t quiet enough. You heard every word, and it stung to be compared to another girl by two boys you thought were nice. Anger flared within you, and you suddenly slammed your locker door shut, the sound causing Peter and Ned to snap their heads in your direction.
"Wow, Mr. Parker. I never thought I’d hear something like that from you," you said, your voice laced with anger.
Peter gulped, scared that he’d been caught. "I-I’m really sorry, but you can’t really deny it, to be honest. I’m sorry."
"Thank you so much for the ego boost, Parker," you shot back sarcastically before turning on your heel and walking away.
Ned facepalmed, realising they’d just lost a potential candidate.
"Come on, Ned. It would never have worked. Jessica wouldn’t get jealous of her."
"Yeah, I guess," Ned sighed.
Later that day, you and Peter found yourselves in the same math class. You weren’t great at math and had been dreading the test results. When Mr. Smith handed back the papers, you saw that you’d gotten a C. It hurt—despite your best efforts, it still wasn’t enough.
As class ended, Mr. Smith called you over to his desk. Peter, curious, stayed just outside the door, listening.
"Y/n, I can see you’re trying hard, and I know you can do better. You’re always focused in class, but I think a tutor would really help you."
"Okay, sir," you said, your voice tinged with disappointment as you left the room, only to bump into Peter in the hallway.
"H-Hey."
"What are you doing here? Trying to tease me more? Because I’m really not in the mood for your bullshit, so just leave me alone," you snapped, your voice shaking with emotion.
"I-I’m not here to tease you. I heard what Mr. Smith said. I’m sorry for before. But I can help you study. I’m a good tutor, you know."
"And why would you help me?"
"We could help each other out, maybe?"
"No! I’ll never fake date you after what you said!" You began to walk away.
"Hey, come on, don’t walk away. We can both benefit. You fake date me, and I’ll tutor you. You’ll get better grades, and I might get Jessica back. It’s a win-win. Please, please, please."
You stopped in your tracks, considering the offer. "Okay.... fine."
"Yes! Thank you so much! Um, what’s your name again?"
"Oh wow, you don’t even know my name. It’s Y/n."
"Sorry. Thanks, Y/n," Peter smiled sheepishly.
A few days passed, and you both began your deal. Peter really was a good tutor, but he could also be incredibly annoying.
One evening, Peter was pacing nervously in your bedroom, while you sat on your bed, watching him with a bored expression. You didn’t particularly enjoy parties—they were too loud and chaotic—but Peter insisted on taking you to Liz Allen’s party that night to show off in front of Jessica.
"You don’t have any party clothes?" Peter asked, glancing around.
"What do you mean?"
"Have you seen the way Jessica dresses?"
"Ew, her party clothes are way too revealing for my taste."
"Come on, you’ve got to look hot, or it won’t work."
Every time Peter compared you to Jessica, it stung, though he never seemed to realise.
"Can I see your closet?" Peter asked, almost pleading.
"What? No, that’s personal."
"Please, Y/n," he begged.
"Okay, fine." You opened your closet, revealing your clothes. Peter rummaged through them before pulling out a jean mini skirt and a pink top.
"Hey, you do have party clothes!" he said, surprised.
"I’m not wearing that. It’s too revealing."
"Then why do you have them in your closet? Come on, Y/n. Try them on."
The truth was, you loved those clothes but had never worn them due to your insecurities. Maybe, just maybe, Peter could help you feel good about yourself. You took the clothes from Peter and changed.
When you stepped out of the bathroom, Peter’s jaw dropped. "Wow," he whispered to himself.
"You sure about this?" you asked, looking down at yourself.
"You look really beautiful," he said, still staring in awe. ‘Come on, Peter, get a grip. She’s not your girlfriend, just a friend helping you out,’ Peter thought to himself.
"We should get going," you suggested, feeling nervous.
"Yeah, let’s go."
At the party, you were a bundle of nerves. The music was loud, and the room was filled with students dancing and chatting. Peter was by your side, his arm around your waist, pulling you close whenever Jessica looked your way.
You noticed Jessica sneaking glances at Peter, her expression a mix of curiosity and annoyance. It seemed like the plan might actually be working, though you couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy when Peter kept comparing you to her.
As the night went on, you began to relax. The initial awkwardness faded, and you started to enjoy yourself, dancing with Peter and chatting with some of the other partygoers. Despite the raucous atmosphere, you found yourself laughing and having a surprisingly good time.
Peter, too, noticed something changing. Every time he held you close or whispered in your ear to make Jessica jealous, he felt a warmth spread through his chest that had nothing to do with Jessica and everything to do with you. He tried to remind himself that this was just a deal, but he couldn’t ignore the growing attraction he felt toward you.
A few of the boys at the party even started to notice you, sending appreciative looks your way. Peter felt a strange twist of jealousy in his gut, but he quickly brushed it off, reminding himself that you were just friends.
After the party, Peter walked you home. You had to admit, despite everything, you’d actually had fun. Somewhere in the middle of this fake dating scheme, you found yourself admiring Peter. He was sweet, caring, and—despite his earlier comments—he seemed to genuinely enjoy your company.
The next week passed in a blur. You and Peter continued to study together, spending more and more time with each other. The more you were around him, the more you found yourself falling for him. You knew it was dangerous to catch feelings—after all, Peter wanted Jessica, not you. You were just helping him out.
But the same thing was happening to Peter. He stopped thinking about Jessica and started admiring you. He noticed how your eyes lit up when you talked about something you were passionate about, how you’d bite your lip when you were focused on your studies, and how easy it was to be around you.
One day, as you and Peter stood at your locker, chatting, Jessica suddenly appeared. "Hey, Peter. Can we talk in private?" she asked, her tone overly sweet, her gaze fixed on you with a glare.
"Yeah, sure. I’ll be back in a bit, babe," Peter said, turning to you with a reassuring smile.
"Take your time," you replied, trying to keep your voice steady as you watched them walk away. You couldn’t help but feel a knot of dread forming in your stomach.
Five minutes later, Peter returned, a smile lighting up his face. You noticed Jessica storming away, clearly furious.
"What happened? Why are you smiling, and why is she angry? What did you do?" Panic seeped into your voice.
"Hey, calm down," Peter reassured you, his smile softening. "I did the right thing. I realised that I don’t want to be with Jessica. She never really liked me—she was only using me. Every time we hung out, I was always doing her homework or assignments. We started dating because I was her lab partner, but she never did any lab work. She broke up with me because I refused to have sex. Now that I think about it, she broke up with me right after our lab project was done. She didn’t need me anymore."
"Oh, Peter," you murmured, feeling a mix of sadness and relief for him.
"But you know what?" Peter continued, his tone more determined now. "I’m glad all this happened because it led me to you. I like you, Y/n. You're really unique and beautiful. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same way, but I had to tell you."
You stared at him, stunned, your heart racing. "Please, say something," Peter pleaded, his eyes filled with hope.
"I like you too," you whispered, your voice trembling slightly.
"Really?" Peter's eyes lit up, the hope in them growing even brighter.
"Yeah."
You both stood there, gazing into each other's eyes. The distance between your faces grew smaller and smaller until you could feel his breath against your skin. Unable to wait any longer, you stood on your tiptoes, grabbed Peter by his collar, and pressed your lips to his. It was your first kiss, and you simply held your lips against his for a few seconds before pulling away, feeling shy.
Peter’s eyes were wide with surprise, but before you could step back, he gently pulled you into another kiss, guiding you this time. You followed his lead, and the kiss deepened, filled with all the emotions you both had been hiding. When you finally pulled away, you were both breathless, your hearts pounding in sync.
"I—I’ve never done that before," you admitted quietly, your cheeks flushing.
Peter smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. "You did great," he reassured, his voice soft and sincere.
You looked into his eyes, seeing the genuine care and affection there. For the first time, you felt truly seen, appreciated for who you were, not compared to someone else.
Peter hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Y/n, I’m sorry for how I acted before. I was so focused on trying to get Jessica back that I didn’t see what was right in front of me. You’ve been more of a friend to me in these past few weeks than Jessica ever was."
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through your chest at his words. "Thank you, Peter. You’ve helped me more than you know. I wasn’t confident before, but you made me see that I could be… that I am enough."
Peter reached out, taking your hand in his. "You’re more than enough, Y/n/n. And I don’t want this to be fake anymore. I want us to be real, if you’ll have me."
You bit your lip, the butterflies in your stomach fluttering wildly. "I’d like that, Peter. I really would."
Peter grinned, leaning down to press a soft kiss to your forehead. "Then let’s make this real."
As the days passed, your relationship with Peter blossomed. What started as a deal quickly turned into something genuine, built on mutual respect and admiration. Peter stopped comparing you to Jessica, instead cherishing the person you were—someone who made him feel understood and appreciated.
Few days later, as you walked down the hallway hand in hand, you passed by Jessica, who was glaring daggers at you both. Peter squeezed your hand a little tighter, and you couldn’t help but smile. For the first time, you felt like you were right where you were meant to be—next to Peter, no longer in someone else’s shadow.
The insecurities and doubts that once plagued your thoughts were now fading, replaced by the warmth of Peter’s hand in yours and the knowledge that he liked you for who you truly were. And that, more than anything, was what made this moment so special.
"You know," Peter whispered as you both walked towards your next class, "I think this is the start of something really good."
You smiled up at him, your heart feeling lighter than ever. "Yeah, me too."
And with that, you both stepped into a new beginning, ready to face whatever challenges life at Midtown High—and beyond—might throw your way.

Author's Note: Happy (late) Valentine's Day!! I literally got the idea for this one the day of the holiday and proceeded to write this, thinking it would be at max like 2,000 words. So, yeah, this one kinda got away from me. Anyway, this is dedicated to @ofthecaravel for being more enthusiastic about this idea than I was (she also made the cover pic so everyone say thank you, Karou). Title taken from Enchanted by Taylor Swift. Please enjoy!! <3

When Danny had the idea to go to the art fair near his house, he hadn’t thought he’d be walking away with an honest to god love potion. I mean, those aren’t real, right?? It’s all just made up for awful rom-coms and Disney movies. So, when that witchy woman had stopped him and gave it to him for free, he thought nothing of it.
He had been weaving through the various booths, eyes catching on all the colorful and sometimes gaudy wares these artists were trying to pedal. Some of them were honestly good, others were just clearly trying to make a quick buck. Danny bought a few things; a few jewelry pieces he thought were cute and a fresh squeezed lemonade.
“Danny?” a woman had spoken up, catching the drummer’s attention. He tensed up at being called out, hoping he wouldn’t be recognized but knowing it was always a possibility every time he left his house.
Schooling his features to be warm and inviting, Daniel turned on his heel to face the woman. She was what Danny could only describe as a “contemporary witch”, complete with long, black hair and a revealing yet classy black dress and a wide-brimmed black hat. Danny had to suppress his scoff at how on the nose she looked, glancing around her clearly witch-themed, yet populated, booth. But, it clearly worked to help sell her goods, so who was he to judge.
“Hey!” he responded, abandoning his wandering and making his way over to her. She smiled widely at him, her eyes lighting up as he approached.
“Oh, my god. My friends are never gonna believe me, she rushed, her tattooed hands fluttering to her chest.
“How about we get a picture to prove it to them?” he offered, having gone through this enough times over the years to know that that was what most people were after when they spotted him.
She nodded, searching frantically for her phone. When she pulled it out from behind the register, Daniel noticed two things. One; her hands were shaking. Two; her lock screen was a picture of him and Sam posed together. It was a picture of them on stage, embracing and beaming at one another and - wow, is that really what he looks like when he smiles at Sam?
They took their picture, her asking for a hug from him which he happily gave her.
“So, what brings you over this way?” the woman - ironically named Greta - asked, leaning against the table she had set her register up on. Danny worried for a second as her long hair passed over a candle, only for him to realize it wasn’t real.
“Had a free afternoon to myself, thought I’d check the art fair out,” he answered honestly, a shrug of his shoulders tacked on at the end.
She nodded acceptingly. “Find anything interesting?”
Danny held up his fingers, wiggling them to show off the rings he purchased as well as shook his cup of lemonade in front of her, smiling. She laughed, her head tipping back a bit to show off a moth tattoo that rested under her clavicles.
“That’s all, huh? You must be pretty picky.” She looked him up and down, her eyes feeling strangely like they were able to see past his physical form. Danny blamed that on the witch-themed booth she ran.
Danny shrugged again. He didn’t think he was, but then again maybe he was.
“Here,” she blurted out, jumping up from her perch to brush past him to go deeper into her booth. Daniel watched as she stopped in front of a display of bowls that held vials of various shapes and sizes. Each one was sorted by color, some of them even seeming to glow which made Daniel do a double take. There was probably just a light fixed at the base of the bowl to give them that effect.
“On the house,” Greta chirped before tossing something at Daniel. He instinctively caught it, letting out a breath of relief that he had. When he got a proper look at it, Danny realized that she had thrown him a vial of baby pink liquid that had been sealed in a teardrop shaped glass vial. The top was a gradient into Barbie pink and formed to a point, sharp enough to probably kill a man. Daniel turned it over in his hand, the liquid sparkling in the light of the sun streaming in through an opening in the tent he was in.
“What is this?” he dumbly asked, already knowing what the hell it was.
“A love potion,” Greta flippantly answered. When Danny snapped his head up to look at the woman, he saw the mischievous glint in her eye that never reached her soft smile.
Daniel coughed on his own spit as he swallowed wrong. He covered it up by taking a few sips of his lemonade. He had no idea how to react to that.
“Uhh… that’s really kind of you, but I can’t take this.”
“Nonsense. I insist,” she pressed, waving off his concerns with a wave of her hand.
Daniel looked back and forth between the woman and the vial in his hand, weighing the pros and cons. Then he realized how ridiculous he was being. It was a kind gesture and love potions weren’t real.
He tucked the vial into his pocket of his jean jacket and smiled. “Thanks!”
“My pleasure,” she answered, that devilish gleam back in her eye as well as that feeling that she was seeing through him rather than at him, “and trust me, you will be thanking me later.”
That made Daniel chuckle a bit nervously. She was starting to creep him out a bit; time to make a quick exit.
“Right, well. Maybe I’ll see you at one of our upcoming shows!” Danny politely suggested, already backing out the way he had come in.
“Of course! Talk to you later!” Greta’s last sentence sent a shiver up Danny’s spine. It felt like a promise rather than a send off.
With one last quick smile, Danny got his ass out of there and trotted down the booths to get away. He definitely wanted to toss that so-called “love potion” away now. There was no telling what was actually in it. He’d just throw it into the next trash can he saw.
+++
Daniel did not toss it away. Instead, he forgot about it completely and left it in his jacket pocket. It stayed there for a month, silently waiting for the next time someone would wear that jacket and find it.
“Hey, Dan!” Danny was in his kitchen taking some ibuprofen for the headache he was fighting when he heard Sam call out for him.
With a big gulp and a gag he didn’t even try to suppress as he felt the pills catch on the side of his throat, Danny responded with a shout of his own. “Yeah?!”
“Can I borrow a jacket?! It’s cold as balls out and I don’t have one!”
Setting his empty glass of water in the sink, Daniel ran a hand through his curls. Sam had stopped over at Danny’s before the band’s scheduled studio time so the two of them could carpool.
“Yeah!” he shouted back. He went through a mental checklist to make sure he had everything he needed before he left, adding Sam to the bottom of that list.
“What the fuck is this in your pocket?!” Sam called out again, breaking through Danny’s concentration.
“I don’t know! I’m not over there!”
It was quiet again for a moment, Danny quickly going through his checklist again as he passed by his laundry room to grab some socks from the pile.
“Can I drink it?!”
Daniel, starting to get a little frustrated by Sam’s antics already, huffed out in exasperation.
“Go ahead!” he screamed harsher than he had meant to. But, really, how the hell was Daniel meant to know what the fuck Sam was talking about. It probably was a shot of fireball or something he never drank. And if Sam wanted to be tipsy while they recorded… Well, it wouldn’t be the first time.
“It tastes like bubblegum!” Sam excitedly exclaimed, his voice louder as Danny was just around the corner from where he was stationed by the front door.
“That’s great, buddy,” Daniel dismissed, walking past him briefly as he went to grab his sticks from the living room. Doing the pat down on his pockets to make sure he had his keys and wallet, Daniel finally rounded the corner to his front door only to see Sam sprawled out on the ground.
“Sam?” Danny cautiously asked, hoping Sam was just being theatrical over how long Danny was taking to leave.
But then he didn’t answer. Or move, for that matter.
“Sammy?!” Daniel was distraught now, tossing his sticks to the side as he kneeled down next to Sam to shake him.
He still wasn’t stirring, but at least his chest was moving. Daniel frantically searched for a pulse, lifting up his hand to check his wrist. That was when he spotted the nearly empty teardrop shaped vial in Sam’s hand and Danny’s heart sank even further.
“No no no no-” Danny chanted under his breath, pressing his fingers into Sam’s wrist. His heart rate slowed a bit when he was able to feel Sam’s pulse in his fingertips. He sighed deeply, feeling his shoulders sag in relief.
“C’mon, Sammy,” Danny implored, grabbing his friend by the shoulders and began to shake him. It wasn’t hard, but it was enough to make his head loll around his shoulders.
When that didn’t work, Danny bit his lip as his brow knit together. He had an idea, but he’d feel awful for going through with it. With another sigh, Daniel resigned himself to it.
“I’m sorry, Sam,” he murmured, pulling his right hand off the bassist’s shoulder. He reared it back and smacked it smartly against his friend’s cheek. Cringing at how loud the slap resounded in the echo-y chamber of his vestibule, Daniel smoothed his hand back over the pink mark blossoming on Sam’s face.
It worked, to Danny’s utter relief.
Sam’s eyes fluttered open as Daniel caressed his fingers across the angry outline of his hand, groaning as he lifted his hand to his forehead.
“What the hell happened?” Sam grumbled out, sitting up on his own. Danny sat back onto his heels, raking his eyes over Sam to check for any signs of danger.
“You drank the vial in my jacket and passed out, I guess,” Daniel tried to explain, the concern leaking through his tone. Sam still had yet to look at Danny, his eyes having shut once more as he sat fully upright.
Huffing out a laugh, Sam looked at the vial in his hand, a drop of that baby pink liquid slipping out of the opening and splattering onto the floor. He turned it over in his fingers a few times before he spoke again. “Hell of a rush.”
Daniel couldn’t help but snort, his worries easing significantly at the joke. Sam was going to be ok. Maybe a little groggy, but ok. That Greta girl should count herself lucky nothing worse had happened to Sam or else he’d bring down hell around her ears for hurting his best friend.
“Alright, Sam. Let’s get you up or else we’ll be late for studio time,” Danny grunted out as he hauled Sam up to his feet by his arm.
“Right, right,” Sam quietly answered, his hair flying out around him as he shook his head to presumably clear it.
And that was when Sam looked at Danny for the first time since he fell.
“I’m so fucking in love with you.”
+++
“Hey, guys, we might want to reschedule.”
“Yeah? And why is that?” Jake was the first one to look over at Daniel. And when he did, Danny watched as his entire body went rigid as his eyes flew wide open.
“Something wrong- oh my god.” That was Josh, this time. And just like Jake, Josh’s eyes got comically wide as he took in the sight of Danny and Sam.
And Daniel really couldn’t blame them. He’d have the same reaction if he saw his little brother clinging onto his best friend as if his life depended on it.
Sam had long since jumped into Danny’s arms, his arms and legs wrapped around Daniel as if he were a monkey and Daniel his favorite tree. He had refused to get down, Danny having tried to fight him in the parking lot before entering the studio to get him to walk on his own, but Sam was having none of it. Even on the drive over, Sam had tried to climb into Danny’s lap a few times all while gushing about how pretty he thought Danny was. He finally got Sam to stay in his seat after promising to hold his hand as he drove. But as soon as they stepped out of the car, it was no holds barred.
“What the hell is he doing?” Jake asked, his eyes still locked onto his baby brother’s strange behavior.
“I’m holding the love of my life!” Sam answered for Daniel. And if Daniel’s face wasn’t burning before, he was certain it was set ablaze by that. And the worst part was Daniel could tell Sam was using a genuine tone.
He watched the twins look between the two rhythm section members, their lips pursing as they took in the sight. Daniel wanted to hide his face in his hands, but they were currently holding his obnoxious best friend so he couldn’t.
“Oooooooooo-k. Umm, what the fuck is going on?” Josh had abandoned his station at his microphone, setting the equipment down on a chair to his left before he joined Jake at his side.
Danny sighed, his eyes closing in shame. He wanted to look everywhere else but at the twins and their calculating and bewildered gazes.
“You wouldn't believe me if I told you.” Daniel let out a squeak after he spoke, Sam surprising him with kisses he placed on the side of Danny’s neck where his head was nuzzled. He tried to pull away, but Sam just chased after him with his lips.
“Try us,” Josh answered, his arms crossing over his chest as his hip popped out. Jake was idly fiddling with his guitar, probably not even aware that he was playing at all, but his eyes never left Danny.
With a deep sigh, Daniel launched into the story of Greta and her stupid fucking love potion. While he was explaining, he knew his story sounded made up. I mean, for god’s sake, the titular character shared the name of their band. It just sounded like he was caught in a lie. The only thing he knew would work in his favor was the potion vial that he had the foresight of bringing with him.
It was a fight, but Daniel was able to wrangle Sam off of him and set his feet on the floor. However, the man still refused to let go of him completely. So Daniel had to live with Sam resting his head on his shoulder and wrapping his arms around Danny’s torso. With his hands finally free, Daniel was able to fish that vial out of his pocket and toss it over to the twins.
Josh caught it, Jake watching it sail over towards his twin with his eyes. Daniel watched as they inspected it, the baby pink liquid still shimmering in the light. He pointedly ignored Sam and his embarrassing antics. Or, at least he tried to. It was very hard when he kept peppering kisses all over Danny’s cheek and neck as he spoke sweet nothings into his ear. Danny felt shivers dance their way across his skin, his veins warming at all the contact and compliments. But he refused to indulge in them. Sam was not himself right now and he would be damned if he was going to take advantage of him. But, they still felt nice.
After a few seconds of turning over the evil liquid, Josh tossed it back over to Daniel.
“Alright,” Jake started, pulling the cord out of his guitar, “we believe you.”
“Really?” Danny was truly bewildered. He thought the twins were going to think it was some kind of stupid prank they were trying to pull on them. He was actually relieved they did.
“Yeah. We’ve never seen Sam act this way before. Plus he’s a dog shit actor,” Josh answered, a laugh escaping his lips after the last sentence. Danny had to agree; he’d seen the movies Josh had made where Sam was the lead. There weren’t that many.
“Oh, thank god. Because I need help.” Daniel’s tone was desperate, his hands trying to pull Sam’s off his waist. But every time he tried, Sam would just slide them back into place. He eventually gave up, huffing in resignation as Sam giggled in his ear. “Yeah, I’m gonna be honest with you on this one. I don’t know where we’ll even start,” Jake bluntly pointed out, placing his guitar on its stand.
“What if you two try to contact the people who organized the fair and see if you can find the woman who sold me the…” God help him, “...the potion.”
“Yeah, alright. What are you going to do?” Josh was already pulling out his phone, not looking at Danny as he spoke.
“I’m going to see if maybe she posted that picture and contact her that way,” Daniel explained, having to shove Sam’s hips away from his own in order to get his phone from his back pocket.
“Sounds like a plan. But how about we don’t do this here,” Jake posited, his eyes sliding over to where their producer and mixer were watching raptly as Sammy placed yet another series of kisses onto Danny.
They all agreed. They wanted to spare both men as much embarrassment as possible and also minimize the possibility of this leaking and sending the wrong message to their fan base.
Daniel offered up his house considering it was the closest.
“And I’ll drive lovebug here, too.” Danny hooked his thumb towards where Sammy’s face was pressed into the side of Danny’s, a dopey smile on his face as he nuzzled deeper into Danny.
“I don’t think you have a choice,” Josh so helpfully pointed out, trying poorly to suppress a laugh.
“Yeah, ha ha. Let’s go,” Daniel sharply ordered, trying once more to rip Sam’s arms off of him and failing.
“No, no, wait. Let us get one video for blackmail,” Jake quickly requested, already having his phone out and pointed at the two.
Danny, knowing that there was no way they’d relent, groaned and let Jake record his misery.
“Alright, Sammy. Tell us how you feel about Daniel,” Jake prompted, the laugh in his voice barely contained. The youngest perked up at the question, his smile getting brighter.
“Well, where do I even begin! There’s so much I feel about him,” Sam cooed, resting his chin against Danny’s shoulder as he spoke. Danny felt Sam’s hair slip off his own shoulder as Sam tilted his head to get a better look at Danny.
“Why don’t you start with the physical,” Josh, that bastard, piped up. Danny shot him a glare, Josh only responding with an “innocent” smile.
“Oh! That’s easy! He’s got these beautiful dark eyes that you can easily get lost in. They’re this gorgeous shade of amber brown that have this nice green in them that remind me of moss in the forest. Oh! And when they catch the light just right they’re so bright and I get butterflies. And speaking of butterflies, when he smiles at me I can’t help but feel like I’m going to pass out from how beautifully warm and overwhelming it is-”
“Alright,” Danny squeaked out, his voice cracking as his face began to heat up, “that’s enough.”
“No, no, we’re just getting to the good part. Sam, what else about Danny do you like?” Danny bared his teeth at Jake. He knew it was ineffective, what, with his face burning as bright as a stop light.
“Oh, his arms are really nice. I love it when he picks me up because then I can feel them flexing and it makes me all dizzy.” Sam’s voice was dripping in honey. It was so sweet it made Danny’s stomach ache.
“Really? And what about his freckles?”
“One of his best features, definitely. They get all dark and prominent in the summer when he gets more sun. He’s got 137 of them!”
“Alright that’s-”
“And what about Danny’s personality?”
“He’s the sweetest guy ever! I swear, he’s so sweet he gives me cavities. Like this one time, I was feeling really down in the dumps and then Danny went out of his way to get me a case of my favorite beer and made me laugh so hard I nearly pissed myself. He just knows me sooooo well. And also he takes care of Rose the best and he is always so gentle and loving with her… what isn’t there to love?”
“Ok, show’s over. We’re done here,” Daniel firmly decided, reaching out to yank Jake’s phone away from him and end the recording, holding it out of Jake’s reach as he tried to grab it back from him.
Danny tossed it back at him when he was done, watching the guitarist nearly fumble the device to the ground. He shot Danny a confused look at his shift in mood, but he didn’t respond. He simply held onto Sam’s arms as he turned the two of them around and made for the door.
As they walked to the car, Daniel pointedly did not think about the fact that Sam apparently just seemed to know how many freckles Danny had off the top of his head. Or how that made his heart flutter within his chest.
+++
The car ride back was considerably less dangerous than the drive over; Sam hadn’t tried to climb into Danny’s lap since he preemptively laced their fingers together. However, Sammy hadn’t stopped talking. And it wasn’t his usual babbling, no. It was much worse.
“I love you.”
“I know.”
“I love you.”
“I know.” The shock of it had worn off at the thirtieth time Sammy had confessed it to Danny, that first time making the drummer jump out of his skin. Now it was just getting annoying, like the beep of a smoke detector.
“You’re really hot,” Sam giggled, leaning his head across the consul and bumping it into Danny’s shoulder.
Danny just groaned, throwing his head into the headrest behind him and asking god what he did wrong to deserve this cruel and unusual punishment. It was one thing to toy with his destiny, it was another entirely to play around with his emotions.
“I hope we fucking crash,” he whined, the light turning green and taking his foot off the brake.
“I hope we fuck.”
Daniel felt his foot involuntarily slam down on the gas, forcing the both of them to jerk back in their seats as the engine loudly revved like an animal letting out a warning growl. Danny whipped his head over to Sam briefly, taking in his lashes batting flirtatiously and his wolfish grin. The driver felt his heart pounding in his chest, ripping his eyes away from his distracting passenger and forcing himself to look at the road.
“What?” he croaked out, not really wanting to hear it again but also wanting to know if he heard Sam right.
“You heard me,” was all Sam spoke in response, a dangerously flirtatious edge to his words that made Danny’s heart lurch in his chest.
“Just… Just keep those thoughts to yourself, ok?”
“Ok!” Sam cheerfully agreed, settling back down onto Danny’s shoulder. That was another thing about this that was driving Daniel slowly insane: Sam did almost everything Danny asked of him.
He was so, utterly fucked.
+++
“Ok, so Greta must be a popular name among artists or something because the fair organizer said there were about thirty booths registered under that name,” Jake explained after hanging up the phone. He tapped his pen on the pad of paper he’d been writing on idly, turned towards Danny’s spot on his couch. Sammy had tackled him onto it, curling up right against his chest like an oversized dog and refused to move.
“Did she give you the list of businesses, too?” Danny asked, having to crane his neck to look over at Jake.
“Yeah, and I was able to cross off a few of them already,” Jake answered, swiping away at his phone again.
“Nice work,” Danny praised, his eyes darting back to his phone. He and Josh had taken on scrolling through Danny’s instagram mentions in order to try and find the famed Greta. And, Jesus, people really loved tagging him in shit. They had been at it for hours and were still only finding posts from about two weeks ago.
“Is this her?” Josh hoisted his phone up into Danny’s field of view. Danny squinted as he analyzed the woman’s face.
“No,” he groaned, his frustration mounting as they had zero luck.
It wasn’t that he didn’t like Sam like this, it was just… It was too much. Yeah, maybe Danny had been dreaming about this exact scenario for years, but this wasn’t how he wanted to get it. He’d felt guilt slam into him with every touch Sam bestowed upon him as he remembered that Sam wasn’t in control of his actions. It was that stupid fucking potion that was making Sam all cuddly and cute; the normal Sam would never do that. The normal Sam wouldn’t repeatedly confess his love for Danny in a myriad of ways, or kiss his neck and cheeks, or cling to him every second of the day. No matter how badly Danny wanted it to be true, Sam just wasn’t in love with Danny like the drummer was in love with the bassist.
And that was the time that Sam decided to stir just enough to burrow deeper into his embrace with Daniel, grumbling something under his breath that was reminiscent of a cat purring. And just like it never happened, Sam fell back asleep again. Danny watched for a bit too long as Sam’s chest rose and fell with each even breath he took, his face held in a content smile as he dreamed away.
“Man, I haven’t seen him curled up with someone like that since we were kids,” Josh commented, taking a break from his endless scrolling to crack his neck and stretch. He had watched the whole thing, Sam’s stirring and Daniel’s flush creeping onto his face as he gazed down at the cozy bass player.
“What do you mean?” Danny had moved his own phone out of the way to properly look at Josh. The man had taken to sitting on the floor with his back against the couch that Sam and Danny were laying on.
“The last time he looked that content while sleeping was probably when he was about eight-ish; that was when he stopped taking naps with mom,” the singer explained, his eyes cast upwards as if searching the farthest reaches of his mind.
“What, are you calling me his mother?” Daniel felt his face pinch into one of disgust as he remembered what Sam had sprung on him during the ride over.
“No, what he’s saying is Sam has always liked to cuddle, but only feels comfortable doing it with certain people,” Jake clarified, not even bothering to look up from his notepad.
“Yeah, he’s never done that with us. And, now that I think about it, he’s never done that with his girlfriends, either. At least, from what I’ve seen, anyway,” Josh added, rambling just a tad at the end. He even brought his hand up to his chin as he thought, his fingers stroking the hair on it absently.
Daniel had no idea what to do with that particular bit of information, so he elected to shove it into his mental box labeled “The Sam Incident” to be ignored until further notice. It was starting to become alarmingly full.
He went back to his scrolling, his eyes beginning to burn with how long he’d been staring at the screen. He wasn’t aware that he’d taken to running his fingers through Sam’s hair and absently playing with it as he focused on finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.
Right when he was about to take a break and grab something to eat, he spotted her.
“AHA!” he exclaimed, bolting upright and rudely jolting Sam out of his peaceful slumber. The bassist even grumbled, rubbing at his eyes and shooting a grumpy look at his personal pillow for the violent awakening. Danny felt the sympathy ache in his chest for Sam, rubbing a soothing and apologetic hand over Sam’s arm. Though, with how frizzy and staticky his hair looked, Daniel had to bite his lip to keep from laughing at Sam.
“You found her?” the twins asked simultaneously, Danny feeling briefly like he was in The Shining as they both gave him the same expression as he looked between them.
Daniel nodded his head, turning his phone around to show the others. Sam took the opportunity to sleepily and unceremoniously flop himself down against the drummer’s chest face first, wrapping his arms around his waist. Danny instinctively placed his hand onto his back to steady him, rubbing it as Sam mumbled something into his chest that Danny could not understand.
“Well, what are we waiting for?” Jake, ever the impatient one, urged Daniel. He pushed away from the table he was stationed at, making his way over to lean over the back of the couch to watch the drummer’s screen.
danielrwagner: Hey, so uhhh
danielrwagner: This is going to be a strange question but
danielrwagner: Are you the woman who gave me a vial at an art show a month or so back?
Daniel had set his phone down onto the couch, figuring he’d have to wait a while for a response - if he ever got one, that is. What he didn’t expect was for his phone to buzz almost immediately afterwards.
StarshineGreta: Hi Danny!
StarshineGreta: Yes, that was me
StarshineGreta: Why did someone drink it?
danielrwagner: Yeah
StarshineGreta: Who was it?
Daniel swallowed nervously, glancing down at Sammy who was still wedged into his chest and showing no signs that he was moving anytime soon.
danielrwagner: …Sam
Call from StarshineGreta
“Guys, what should I do?” Daniel panicked, his heart rate kicking up in speed inside his chest as his ringtone started to cheerfully chirp in his hand. He frantically looked back and forth between the twins, looking for their help.
“Answer it!” Josh screeched, his thunderous voice that Daniel normally heard echoing through stadium speakers just as loud and commanding in his living room.
With a nervous bite of his lip, Danny did as he was told.
“Hey, Greta. Just so you know, you're on speaker with… with the whole band,” Daniel greeted, making sure to give her the courtesy of knowing that everyone could hear her. But, it seemed that she didn’t even register what he had said. Instead, she launched right into it.
“Alright, how long ago did he drink it and what are his symptoms?” Her voice was nearly clinical if it weren’t for the clear enthusiasm dripping off her words.
“He drank it at about ten this morning-”
“And he’s acting like a lovesick puppy and won’t leave Daniel alone,” Josh interjected, leaning over so that he was closer to the phone to be heard. Though that wasn’t really necessary since the man had shouted, anyway.
“Yeah, Sam won’t stop touching and cuddling him and if he tells him to quit it he gets all mopey and sad,” Jake added, flashing Danny a grin that Daniel merely glared at. She really didn’t need to know all that.
The beat of silence that followed made Danny’s nerves spike into the stratosphere. What he didn’t know was that Greta had merely muted her own mic so that she could laugh as boisterously as she wanted to without being heard.
“Interesting. And how much did he drink?”
“Pretty much the whole thing. There’s about an eighth or so left in the bottle, I’d guess,” Daniel informed, feeling as if the vial in his pocket got heavier as he thought about it.
“Wow. Ok, wow. No wonder he’s so clingy,” Greta replied, her surprise seeping into her tone.
“I wouldn’t call him that-”
“Dan. Try standing up.”
Giving Jake a disgruntled look, Daniel tried exactly as suggested. As he did, Sam’s arms tightened around Sam and pulled him back down towards him. “Nooooooooo,” he had whined out in protest, his brow knitting together in a grumpy frown once more as he looked up at Danny through his lashes.
“No,” he said again, this time more firm and accented by Sam’s grip readjusting around Danny’s ribs to pull himself even tighter against Danny’s chest.
When Daniel looked over at the younger twin, he was met with a small yet smug smile of victory.
“Shut up,” he lamely shot back, wanting to cross his arms over his chest but being prevented by a certain bass player. Instead, he just settled his free arm back onto Sam’s back right below where his hair stopped in the middle of his spine.
“Is it a problem that he drank so much?” Josh asked, completely ignoring the exchange that happened between Jake and Daniel.
“Not really, no. The effects will just be stronger than if he had just drank the recommended amount,” Greta explained.
“Will it last longer?” Daniel quickly interjected, the horrifying thought of having to deal with Sam acting like this for a month causing panic to lance through his heart.
“I don’t think so. Maybe a few extra hours, but it should be worn off by tomorrow evening.”
“And how come your potion actually works? Like, why isn’t yours bullshit like the other ‘love potions’ out there?” Jake so delicately questioned.
“Normally, most of mine are but… well…” Daniel did not like how her tone shifted from confident to apprehensive, “I won’t sugar coat it. The potions I make are meant to amplify what emotions are already inside someone. They can’t manufacture love or hate or happiness if they don’t already exist in the person who drank it.”
After she finished her explanation, the room went silent. Daniel felt as if his mind was beginning to overheat inside his skull as he tried to process the information she had just dropped onto them.
“I don’t get it,” Daniel croaked out, feeling as if his mind was halting all function as he stared blankly down at his phone.
“Do you have that potion on you?” Greta’s voice wasn’t scheming, per say, but it was clear she had a plan.
Daniel dug into his front pocket, fishing out the aforementioned vial. He held it up into the air, looking at it and wondering how something so unassuming could flip his world on its axis.
Before the drummer could even respond to Greta, Jake had swiped it out of his hand so quickly Danny could only blink dumbly at the man.
“Josh!” he called before tossing it towards the man.
“Wait-” was all Daniel could get out before the singer had uncapped the vial and tossed it back like it was a shot.
“Ooh, bubblegum flavored,” Josh cooed after he swallowed, flipping the vial in his hand after he replaced the cap.
Daniel just sat frozen in place. Great, now he was going to have to deal with two Kiszkas attached to his hip at all times and he wasn’t going to be able to do anything-
“How ya feeling, Josh?” Jake had asked in a voice reminiscent of a gameshow host from the 70s.
“Honestly, Jake, I feel no different. Daniel, I love you, man, but not like that,” Josh answered, pointing at his little brother curled up into Danny’s chest like an overgrown cat to prove his point.
“So, that means…” Jake prompted, holding out his hand as if to cue Daniel to understand. It didn’t work.
“I still don’t get it. And now I’ll have two of you on top of me-”
“Oh my god,” Josh impatiently groaned, tossing his head back in frustration as he scrubbed a hand down his face.
“Jesus, you’re dumb, Dan,” Jake added, exasperation of his own causing him to pinch the bridge of his nose as he shook his head.
“I’m sure he’ll figure it out eventually,” Greta optimistically offered, her voice cutting through the groaning from the twins.
“But, wait, what should I do? Is there anything I can do to help Sam? Or, like, cure him?” Danny inquired, electing to ignore the twins and their antics.
“You’re just going to have to wait it out,” Greta answered, her voice not even remotely sympathetic to Danny’s plight.
“Thanks for the insight, Greta.” Jake leaned in towards the phone again, giving it a two fingered salute.
“Yeah, and thank you for the free blackmail!” Josh was smiling as he waved at the phone, his tone chipper and not at all matching the devious words he spoke.
“Any time, boys!”
And with that, the call had ended.
“Well, we best get going,” Josh sighed as he got to his feet, stretching his arms over his head.
“Yep. Seems like you and Sam need some time to yourselves.” Jake had playfully nudged his baby brother on the shoulder with his hand, Sam only responding with a half-hearted grunt of annoyance at being jostled.
“Wait, hold on-”
“Goodbye, lovebirds!”
With a slam of the door that carried with it a sense of finality, Daniel was left alone with a love-drugged Sam. In his house. Alone.
“I thought they’d never leave,” Sam yawned, mimicking his older brother from earlier as he stretched his arms above his head, his face pinching together as he did so. Daniel pointedly did not look at the sliver of tan skin the bassist exposed above his waistband as he stretched, a playful teasing of his happy trail poking out briefly.
“Uh, what?”
“The twins! I thought they wouldn’t take the hint,” Sam playfully implied, his hands tracing up from their perch on Daniel’s stomach to his pecs. And that was when he realized that Sammy was straddling his hips and looming above him with a look in his eye and a smirk on his lips that was anything but innocent.
Danny was stuck in his position on the couch, feeling like those butterflies they displayed in glass with those pins that pierced through their wings stabbing through his own limbs. He felt frozen, caught between his own animalistic desire and his morality; the angel and devil on his shoulders waging a war.
“Are you hungry?” Daniel squeaked out, his voice breaking as he shoved Sam off of him and bolted off the couch. He felt like his face was on fire as the rest of his skin prickled with its own heat. He stood himself on the opposite side of the room, all but pressing his back to the wall. He didn’t care what that witch or the twins said; Sammy would never do that.
He’s not himself.
Once Sam recovered from Danny tossing him into the couch, Sam turned those sultry eyes back onto the drummer. “Yeah. For you.”
Daniel gulped. Sam’s voice had purred out of his lips, matching the very clear bedroom eyes he was shooting Daniel. And Danny was not liking how his body was reacting to that.
“I’ll order sushi,” Daniel quickly stated before bolting out of the room and away from Sam as fast as he could.
+++
Dinner was an ordeal. Daniel had to essentially manipulate Sammy into eating, which made him feel like garbage. But, he tried to reassure himself by saying it was for Sam’s own good. And if Danny had to use his powers of suggestion over Sam to do it, then it was just a means to an end. To be fair, it wasn’t like he was forcing Sam to do something like make out with Danny or anything like that. It was just getting him to eat his goddamn sushi.
It also didn’t help that Sam had scooched his chair right up beside Danny’s and would move closer to him each time Danny had tried to move away. And then Sam had tried to feed Danny his food. Which was… an experience.
“C’moooooooooon Danny! It’ll be cute like Lady and the Tramp!” Sam whined, waving his chopsticks in the air.
Daniel, knowing his willpower against Sam was weakening, relented. He huffed out a “fine” and half-heartedly opened his mouth. Sam squealed excitedly before gently picking up a roll with his chopsticks and placing it between Danny’s lips. Daniel figured the pain of Sam’s nagging was worth the pleasure of seeing his brilliantly excited smile as Daniel chewed his sushi.
“Ok, ok, now me!” Sam exclaimed, setting down his chopsticks before opening his mouth wide and sticking out his tongue like he was about to get his tonsils checked.
With an exasperated yet fond sigh, Daniel selected a sushi roll and brought it up to Sam, cupping a hand underneath it to catch it if it fell. As he placed the sushi on Sam’s tongue, Daniel made the mistake of looking his friend in the eyes. When he did, his breath hitched inside his throat. Daniel could feel as the air around them crackled with a charged energy that sparked to life as their gazes met. And Daniel felt himself unable to tear his eyes away from Sam as he slowly pulled his chopsticks away.
When Sam slipped the food into his mouth and began to chew, that was when Daniel was able to look away.
That was a few hours ago. The two of them were once again cuddled up on Danny’s couch, Sam trying his absolute best to get every part of his body touching every part of Daniel’s. They had thrown on a crime procedural show; Bones or Law & Order, Daniel didn’t know. He was far too distracted by how Sam kept attempting to get Danny to kiss him or let him blow him or an assortment of other things that made his face glow bright red.
He’s not in his right mind, Daniel had to keep reminding himself. And he would not break to love-drugged Sam no matter how many times he would flash Danny those puppy eyes that would normally make him fold like a house of cards under a slight breeze.
“Daaaaaaaanyyyyyyyyyy,” Sam sang, wiggling himself onto Danny’s lap in order to plant himself right in front of Daniel’s field of view. He would no longer be ignored, despite the fact that Sam had always had Danny’s full attention; he just was acting as though he hadn’t.
“Sam, I’m trying to watch this,” Daniel weakly protested. He had no idea what the plot of the episode was, much less the actual name of the show.
“Watch me instead,” Sam whined, his shoulders slouching as he theatrically threw his head back in frustration, “you’ve been ignoring me all day.”
“That’s not true-”
“It’s like you don’t love me.” And that was what finally caused Daniel to break his facade. He looked Sam right in the eyes, taking in the pout of his lips and the dejected nature of his eyes. Daniel isn’t ashamed to admit that he felt his chest ache at the sight. There was genuine heartbreak in Sammy’s eyes that did nothing to quell the guilt that had been thrumming through Daniel’s veins all day.
Sam could not have been further from the truth, really. Daniel did love Sam. Like, embarrassingly so. He felt it swelling in his chest every second that he spent with Sam, even when he wasn’t with him. Actually, that was when he felt it the most, when Sam wasn’t with him. Those were the moments when he found himself wishing for the man to be near, feeling his heart long for his calming and wonderful presence.
But, he knew Sam didn’t feel that way about Daniel. Danny knew Sam the best out of everyone on earth; he’d be able to tell who Sam was in love with. It wasn’t Daniel.
“That-That’s not…” Danny didn’t know how to answer that. He really didn’t. He had no idea if Sam would remember anything from this after the potion wore off. He really did not want to risk the most precious thing in his life.
Instead, Daniel just gently lowered Sam’s head down into the crook of his neck, wrapping his arms around Sam in order to pull him as tightly against his chest as he could. If he couldn’t say it, he’d show it.
Sam calmed down after that, apparently perfectly content to just exist inside of Danny’s personal space. It wasn’t long after that Daniel felt drowsiness creep up on him. Despite not doing much moving around considering the human ball and chain known as Samuel Kiszka was attached to him all day prevented that, he was still exhausted. Emotionally, that is. Who knew having the love of your life falsely confessing his love for you would be so draining? Danny sure didn’t.
“Alright,” Danny yawned, reaching for the remote to turn off the tv, “time for bed.”
“Carry me,” Sam murmured, already half asleep against Danny.
“Sam…” Daniel protested with a sigh, knowing that he was going to anyway but hoping Sam would change his mind.
“Please, baby,” the bassist whined, moving his head so that one eye poked out from his curtain of hair to give Danny that wretched Puppy Look.
Like the whipped man that he was, Danny just sighed as his shoulders sagged in defeat. After shuffling around Sam’s limbs to better fit around Danny as he stood, Daniel walked the two of them up to his bedroom. Danny decidedly did not think about what this would look like to an outsider.
“When did you get so heavy,” Danny grunted halfway up the stairs.
“It’s not nice to comment on a lady’s weight,” Sam shot back, his face still completely nuzzled into Danny’s neck. The breath of his words made Daniel have to suppress a shiver.
“Oh, I didn’t know I was talking to a lady.”
Sam giggled, the vibrant and gorgeous sound making Danny’s heart soar.
Jesus, he was so doomed.
+++
It had taken some master level bargaining on Daniel’s part, but he was able to convince Sam to leave him alone long enough so that they could each finish their nighttime routines. Daniel had just loaned Sam a pair of his sleep shorts and a shirt to use as pajamas; the shorts were just a bit too big on Sam and caused the waistband to sit dangerously low on his hips. Daniel found himself having to force his eyes to focus on anything other than that sliver of skin on Sam’s abdomen, which was an incredibly hard task.
Daniel was far from surprised when Sam had climbed into the bed next to him and proceeded to wrap all of his limbs around Danny. It was like the man had managed to find the exact places where he would fit perfectly against Danny like he was meant to be there. Frankly, it was driving Daniel mad.
“Don’t I get a kiss goodnight?” Sam hummed directly into the drummer’s ear, able to feel the vibrations in his best friend’s chest that was pressed into his side.
The question made Danny sigh. He knew what would happen if he said no.
“You’re going to keep going until I snap or give in, won’t you?” Daniel addressed the ceiling, unsure if he was speaking to Sam or god at this point.
“Yep,” Sam replied, popping the P in the word. Daniel could hear the mischievous smile in his words.
Now, it was just a matter of weighing Daniel’s conscience against his desire to get some goddamn rest. And, well, he’d be lying if he said he didn’t want to kiss Sam. But, once again, not like this. But… well, it wasn’t like they hadn’t kissed before. It happened a few years ago when they were both drunk; the both of them had laughed it off afterwards, but neither of them spoke of it again. Danny was sure that if he had explained to Sam that he was only doing it to get him to relent so that he could sleep, Sam would understand. Hell, this would be far from the first time Danny had done something Sam had asked of him to get him to shut up so he could sleep.
“Fine,” Daniel had begrudgingly agreed, the word sighed out. But, before he could tell Sam that he was only going to get a quick peck and nothing else, Sam had pounced.
Danny’s cries of protest had been drowned out by the press of Sam’s unfairly soft lips, his facial hair not an unpleasant bristle against his skin. But, no matter how good it felt, Danny couldn’t allow this to continue. There was just one small problem: Sam had managed to snake his hands from where they had wrapped around Danny’s torso to his head. He felt those lithe fingers weave their way into his curls, locking him in place like a boa constrictor did with their prey. No matter how… how hot that was, Daniel was the one in his right mind. He was the one responsible for his own action, so that meant he had to… to… oh, dear lord, Sam’s tongue was soft; feeling like the finest velvet money could buy. It beckoned Daniel’s own tongue, gently pleading with it to slip inside Sam’s mouth. And, truly, who was Danny to argue? And, god forgive him, Sam’s mouth was so warm and inviting, it should be a sin.
Daniel blames his fixation on Sam’s mouth for the reason he failed to notice just how long their kiss had lasted. What finally broke him out of his trance was when Sam’s thigh slipped its way between Daniel’s own, brushing against his interested dick and pulling a surprised yelp from his lips.
Fighting against Sam’s, admittedly strong, grip on his hair, Daniel pulled away from Sam. He made sure to physically push away Sam’s thigh from its spot between Danny’s legs, knowing that should have been his first act. He was out of breath; another indicator for just how he had failed to be responsible. And looking into Sam’s confused and hurt eyes did nothing to help the guilt mushrooming within his chest.
“You’ll thank me later,” Daniel explained, even sounding out of breath as he tried to put as much distance between himself and Sam as the love-drugged man would allow. Or you’ll hate me later.
“But what about here and now?” Sam whined, closing the precious distance Danny had built up.
“You got what you wanted-” and fucking then some, “-just go to sleep.”
“Daaaaaaaan-”
“Go to sleep, Sam.” Daniel snapped, immediately regretting his tone as soon as he saw the genuine hurt in those amber eyes.
With a scowl, Sam settled down into the sheets. What hurt the most, though, was when Sam had retracted all of his limbs from where they intertwined with Daniel’s, flipping on his side to face away from his best friend. Despite having wished for it all day, Danny had no idea it would hurt so fucking much.
Even though he wanted to so fucking badly, Daniel did not reconcile the situation. It was for the best, he had to tell himself. This way, Daniel would be able to actually sleep and Sam wouldn’t be as weirded out towards Danny when he inevitably snapped out of this spell.
It was for the best.
Then why does it feel so wrong?
+++
Daniel had gotten no sleep.
Despite how much he tried, it seemed that every time he closed his eyes he was met by the image of Sammy’s disappointed face. He knew, deep down, that it was the right thing for him to do, to push Sam away like that. But that really was a thin comfort when the hurt in Sam’s eyes before he disentangled himself from Danny was still playing on loop in his head. Isn’t that what he had been trying to avoid this whole time? Hurting Sam? And, somehow, he had managed to do just that. It was frustrating and exhausting and Danny just wanted to get some fucking sleep.
Through the night, however, Sam had managed to intertwine himself once more with Danny. It felt like a hollow victory. And when he eventually, slowly, woke up, Sam had seemed to be completely over their spat from the night prior.
He had simply stretched his arms over his head, his hair a mess of tangles and static, and asked Daniel about breakfast. How Danny had wished that he could just brush off what happened the night prior.
The rest of the day had happened much like the day before; Sam refusing to let Danny stray too far from his touch. It had been inconvenient as Danny tried to go about his day with another person attached to him at the hip. However, he was able to adapt by lunch time. Sammy was still whispering things in his ear that made his blood simmer in his veins and did nothing to suppress his guilt at what images and scenarios his brain supplied him with.
Daniel had resigned himself to the fact that his day now would revolve around Sam entirely. He had wanted to go to the grocery store to restock his fridge that was becoming barren, but he knew there was the possibility that someone would recognize the two of them and their… compromising position.
So, instead of going out and being productive like he had wanted to, he sequestered the two of them to his house. They settled on a Harry Potter marathon, Daniel once again unable to focus on the screen whatsoever with Sam pawing at him continuously. Daniel had ordered food and plopped the two of them on the couch.
By the fourth movie, Sam had fallen asleep in Danny’s lap. Daniel, now with those doe eyes off of him, felt that he was finally able to end his guise of watching the screen. It had reached the late afternoon, that golden light sun streaming in through the windows of his living room and highlighting the lazy dust mites floating in the air. Most devastatingly, however, was how that sun had focused on Sammy’s profile. The man looked angelic, ethereal in a way that should not be feasible for a mortal. His hair glowed a golden hue, making it look like a halo was crowned onto his head. It made Danny’s heart ache within his chest.
Daniel had been so distracted by how gorgeous his best friend looked that he failed to really notice that Sammy was beginning to wake up.
“Daniel?” Sam’s voice was gravelly again. Danny felt his eyes focus on Sam’s, snapping him back into his own mind.
“Sam?”
“Wh… What happened?” Sam had lifted himself off of Danny’s chest, sliding a hand from where it rested on the small of Danny’s back to grab at his head. He blinked rapidly, sweeping his eyes around the room as if it was foreign to him with a grimace on his face.
“How much do you remember?”
There was a pause before Sam responded, his eyes sliding their focus in on Danny’s. “Remember? Dan, I’m not missing any time.”
And if that didn’t make Daniel’s blood run cold.
“So… So…” Danny couldn’t spit it out. No matter how much he wanted to, he just couldn’t say that Sam knew everything. That would make it real.
“So… what happened?” Sam prompted again, seeming to be more lucid with each passing second.
Danny involuntarily gulped, feeling a cold sweat breaking out across his skin. Why was he so nervous? It wasn’t that hard to say what happened; he already told the twins. So why the hell was it so difficult to look Sam in the eye.
“You… You remember that vial from my jacket that you drank?”
“Mhm, tasted like bubblegum.”
“...Yeah. Well, that uhh…”
Oh, for fucks sake! Just say it!
“It was a love potion,” Daniel rushed out, the words all mushing together to sound like one long word.
Another beat of silence passed between the two, Sam staring down at Daniel from his perch in his lap and Daniel looking everywhere he could that wasn’t Sam’s eyes. He really wished Sam would move, it would at least help the raging blush on his cheeks. At least slightly.
“Oh, sick!!”
Finally, Daniel looked Sam in the eye. Of all the ways he had forecasted that Sam would react to that information, enthusiasm and whimsy was not even on the list. He had expected Sam to get awkward, to politely remove himself from Danny’s touch and make an exit as quickly as possible. He had far from expected Sam to link his hands behind Danny’s neck and eagerly inquire about the potion.
“Dude, that’s so cool! You know what this means, don’t you??”
“...No?”
“Magic is real! And we just proved it!!” Sam’s smile was huge, bright enough to outshine the sun.
“Sam-”
“So, like, how does it actually work? Like, I remember that conversation we had with the witch about it only affecting those who already are in love, or whatever, but did she say the actual mechanics of how it worked? Like, is there a special ingredient that it needs to work?” Sam reminded Danny of a puppy in that moment. His eyes were bright and full of enthusiasm, his entire body buzzing with an energy that made it impossible for him to sit still.
This time, it was Daniel who failed to give a timely response. His mind was too busy reeling over what Sam had glossed over during his rambling to properly process the man’s question. Realizing that the reason Sam was looking at him so expectantly was due to him waiting on the drummer, Danny shook his head to force it to work.
“H-Hold on,” he began, taking a hand that had rested on Sam’s waist and bringing it up to his forehead, “you… you remember that conversation?? You were asleep!!”
Danny hadn’t meant for his voice to come out like a screech, however he was just so damn confused that he really couldn’t focus the brain power on proper speech etiquette.
“What?” Now it was Sam’s turn to knit his brow in confusion. “Oh, yeah! No, I was just faking it. It’s an old trick I pull out sometimes to get out of work; I started doing it so that Jake, Josh, and Ronnie were stuck doing chores instead of me.”
Daniel felt like he was losing his mind. How was Sam so goddamn chipper about this??
“Ok. Ok. Oh my god.” Daniel forced himself to take a breath. It felt as if his entire world was crumbling beneath his feet and his brain was struggling to keep up with the rapidly shifting terrain.
“So, you remember that whole conversation.” It wasn’t a question, though Danny had intended it to be.
“Yep!” Danny felt a piece of his soul die at the chipper tone Sam used. He elected to ignore it.
“And… that means you understand how it actually works…”
“Apparently better than you did, Danny Boy,” Sam snarked, a playful grin that bordered on flirtatious spreading across his lips.
Danny could only stare incredulously at Sam.
“And you’re ok with it??”
“...Yeah,” Sam answered slowly, “I already knew I was in love with you.”
And that, right there, was how Daniel Wagner died. In retrospect, he had a good go of it. He was able to follow his dreams, be a rockstar. If he had to pick one, he’d say his one regret in life was ever befriending Samuel fucking Kiszka. It would have saved his life, after all.
“Danny?”
Sammy’s voice snapped him out of his cardiac arrest, pulling him back to the present.
“Y-You… You…” Once again, Daniel felt like his brain was melting out of his head and pouring out of his ears. This can’t be real. Like, it just can’t. “You already… me??”
“Yeah…” Sammy was looking at him strangely, as if Danny were the one acting weird.
“You realize what you just told me, right??”
“I don’t understand why you’re acting so surprised. You already knew this.”
Danny tried to follow Sam’s logic in his head, he really did. He was still under the spell. He had to be. It was the only way Sam’s behavior made any sense to him.
“Sam… you were drugged, ok? I don’t know exactly how, but those… your… actions were not your own,” Danny tried to explain, careful and gentle as possible.
Then, it was as if a lightbulb went off inside Sam’s head. Daniel felt relief hit him; finally Sam got it. They could move past this and save their friendship.
“Daniel, look at me,” Sammy slid his hands from behind Daniel’s neck to rest them on the sides of his face, positioning it so that Danny had to look at him, “I am not under any spell right now. I am in my sane mind, do you get me?”
Danny opened his mouth to speak, but Sam cut him off before he had the ability to protest.
“I am so fucking in love with you. Like, so fucking in love it’s probably illegal. And that was why the potion worked. Because I am in love with you. If I wasn’t, it wouldn’t have worked at all… do you understand what I am telling you in very clear, not-able-to-be-misinterpreted words?” Sam had said every sentence slowly and with a gravity to it that left no room for debate. They were spoken as fact; as law. Just how energy cannot be created nor destroyed, Sam Kiszka was in love with Daniel Wagner.
Yet Daniel still had a hard time grasping the concept.
“But… all that… that cuddling and-and kissing and all that… you’ve never acted that way before,” Daniel reasoned, believing this to be the work of the potion and hard evidence to support that belief.
Sam just laughed, the noise warming up the ice that had frozen in Danny’s veins.
“I always wanna kiss you, Daniel. The only reason I hadn’t yet was because I didn’t think you wanted me that way. And before you try and say it was the potion forcing me, it just never occurred to me to not act upon my feelings.”
Danny was still apprehensive, unable to fully grapple with the concept that Sam wanted to kiss him at all times. But, he was beginning to see what everyone had been telling him the past 24 hours.
“...Prove it.”
With nothing but a quick “ok” spoken under his breath, Sam wasted no time launching forward and locking his lips with Danny’s. His hands slid from Danny’s cheeks to the back of his head, manipulating it so that Sam could tip it back and deepen the kiss. Once again, Danny felt dizzy. But, unlike the other kiss the two of them shared last night, this one was quick and urgent. Sam had something to prove and he was not about to let Daniel walk away from this without getting his point through Danny’s thick skull.
It was Sam who eventually pulled away, having to gasp for air.
“Holy shit,” Danny panted, his head feeling woozy as he took in the sight of his best friend looking absolutely ruined, yet giddy just from his lips.
“Yeah,” Sam breathed in response, his smile turning dopey as he laughed.
“You… You love me…”
Danny watched in real time the excitement and shock that flooded Sam’s eyes.
“Oh, thank fucking god,” Sam quickly uttered, throwing his head back, “YOU FINALLY GET IT!” Sam had taken to shaking Danny by the shoulders.
“That’s actually great news because I’m also in love with you,” Daniel admitted, a giddiness of his own flooding his veins at finally being able to say those words out loud to Sam.
“I would fucking hope so, you dense idiot.” There was no malice in Sam’s words. Quite the opposite, really. He had leaned back down onto Danny’s chest, burying his face into Danny’s neck as they embraced.
“Wait… when did you-”
“Truthfully? When we graduated.”
Daniel started to process what that meant. Since we graduated…
“YOU MEAN WE ACTUALLY COULD’VE FUCKED THIS WHOLE TIME??”

hiiiii, i saw your requests for noah are open. could you maybe do him with an insecure reader? like she just doesn't like how she looks (particularly her tummy) and he shows her how beautiful she really is to him? preferably smutty with a loooooot of praise <33333
So, I'm sorry it took me few days. To be honest this topic isn't easy for me, cause I like to deal with my insecurities alone, so I didn't really know where to start and go with this. I put these two requests together, hope you don't mind. I also put a bit of myself in there, as I'd like to work for the fire department after college.
Let me know how you like it and if you find any grammar mistakes, let me know, english isn't my first language. Enjoy reading✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
„And then he said that women should not work for the fire department.“ I sighed and sank deeper in the bath, holding glass filled with white wine in my right hand.
„Oh wow, what a captain.“ Noah answered, head against the blue tiles of our bathroom as he was sitting outside the bath with one of his hands also occupied with glass of wine.
“Just acting captain. I really hope they choose someone from the station soon, can’t wait to see him leave. I know he’s the only one with the sexist comments at the station, but lately he’s been showing off his opinions too much and I’m just tired of that. Makes me think I should quit.”
“Don’t you dare do that Y/N. It’ll pass with the new captain. Or file a complaint with others. They got your back. You’re amazing fire fighter, don’t let him ruin that for you.”
Little angry wrinkles showed on Noah’s face as we talked about my job. He was mad that our acting captain was making feel all the female fire fighters this way and he didn’t know how to help with that, but even with the sadness showing on my face, he would never support the thought of me leaving the job. He knows I love it and that I’d be mad at myself and him for letting me do that just for someone who’s stepping up for station without captain.
“I really hope it’s question of days now, the process should be done soon and then he’ll leave.” All the nasty things I had to say about him were washed with the wine down my throat, I didn’t want to ruin one of the first nights Noah’s back home from the tour.
“Yeah I hope too, hate to see you this sad.” His empty hand came on the edge of the bath, looking for mine. When our hands touched, he gave me a little squeeze and we stayed in silence for a moment. Both tired from our jobs, excited for the two days we both had off.
“Can I come in?” Noah asked few minutes of silence later.
“Like in the bath?” I asked the obvious thing and shifted a bit in our big bathtub. I had bubbles covering my body, that made me comfortable. Not like I don’t feel comfortable around Noah, but after months of being apart it felt like he would see me naked for the first time again and that made me nervous. With all the bullshit about women at work, it just made me more insecure about my body, my capability, my whole existence.
“Yes.” He said more as a question. “I enjoy talking to you, but my back is starting to hurt, let me in?”
“I can go out. We can lay down, we’re both tired. We can continue with the talking and wine in bed?” I tried to play it off.
“Why? You went in just a while ago. The water is still warm, let me in and let’s just relax together love.” He said as he got up from the floor. I quickly made sure the bubbles were covering I wanted covered, and Noah noticed.
“What are you doing?” He looked at me, confused.
“Nothing.” I said, not having an honest answer for that.
Noah got his clothes off and went in the bath behind me. I wanted to tell him to sit against me, but then he would be looking directly at my body, and I didn’t like that either.
He sat down and put his hands around my waist and laid us both down. I waited few second, then took his hands and put them more up, around my shoulders. We stayed in the comfortable silence few more minutes, I tried to drink the shame away with the wine, but then Noah put his hands back around my waist and suddenly I felt like crying.
He must’ve sensed something was wrong with the way I became so tense.
“Hey babe, what’s wrong?” he tried to look at my face, but with him sitting behind me it was easy to cover my watery eyes.
“I just-“ I wanted to tell him, I wanted to learn to communicate my feelings better, but it was so hard while being naked, so vulnerable.
“It’s okay, just breathe and talk when you’re ready.” Noah said, hugging me tighter from the back and planting kisses to my shoulders.
I took few shaky breathes as I felt tears running down my face.
“Okay I just, I don’t know what to say. I’m so glad you’re back, but every time you’re on tour and we don’t see each other for a few months I start feeling this way. Like you are seeing me naked for the first ever and I’m ashamed of feeling like that. You never game me a reason to feel bad about myself, so I don’t know why that keeps happening. But with everything going on at work these days, I feel like shit mentally, but keep projecting it to my body and I just don’t want you to see me like that.” I was so proud for getting that off me, felt so good to just let it out. I felt ashamed of what I was feeling, I felt like I was making Noah the bad guy and myself like a hysterical unstable woman, who breaks down after few inconveniences in her life.
“Oh, I didn’t know that. I’m sorry If I would’ve known, I would stay outside. Babe, you don’t have to be shy or feel insecure around me. I saw your body thousands of times and I love it, I love you.” He turned my body a little, just for us to be facing each other. “You’re beautiful, your body and your mind. I’m so lucky to have you. And the station? Same, they’re lucky to have you. You do your job with love and compassion and I’m sure the new captain will see that. I know it’s too much for you now, but don’t ever hide away from me, you don’t have to.” He planted few kisses on my face after his little speech.
I felt more relaxed, but the tension was still there.
“I’m gonna go out and let you have the time you need, okay? I’ll make dinner, then we can finish the wine in bed.” I didn’t need to say a word and Noah knew what I wanted in the moment. He got out of the bath, wrapped towel around his waist, kissed my forehead with little “I love you” and left the bathroom.
I felt at peace after that. I made my routine, got out of the bathroom to find Noah with dinner ready, music playing quietly from the speakers. We ate, we talked, finished the bottle of white wine and went to sleep. I slept with my mind at peace, knowing everything will be alright as long as he’s by my side.

I want you there
a/n requested by anon! so excited to write all of these requests, I think I’ll keep them in the order of the request on the ask just to help me out lol! Hope you like them!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I can’t write like I’m it’s based in Ireland- i was raised to talk like i’m middle class even tho we’re poor 😂
I was getting so excited for prom. I had picked my dress, decided how I was doing my hair, and makeup, everything. It was all planned out. It was amazing.
Until James told me that the Doctor Who convention is on the same day. Right when I’d finally plucked up the courage to ask him. What am I meant to do now? I was so excited, even if we were going as friends. It was going to be one of the best nights of my life.
Now, I’m stuck with the guys who asked me. A guy who is an absolute arsehole. Apparently I would rather go with him than alone. I don’t want to go alone. Not after I told Michelle how excited I was about who my date was going to be- avoiding the fact that it’s her cousin.
So here I am. Waiting on the steps in my house. In the dress I spent hours choosing and taking in to fit perfectly. My hair perfect, my make up perfect. And my date barely having spoken to me since he asked me out.
Oh. And he’s late.
Maybe it’s better if he’s late. Maybe it’s better if be doesn’t come at all. Maybe I should take everything off and tell my mum to pretend I’m sick if he does come.
I give up pretty quickly, I never wanted to go with him. I sigh and head up to my room. I stand in my room for a bit, just staring at my reflection in the mirror. I had never felt like I looked nice in anything I wore before. But I went all out. I saved every penny I could so I’d be happy with how I look.
But the more I keep staring at myself, the more I hate how I look. The longer I stand there, the more imperfections I see. I don’t know how long I stay there but before I know it I’m crying. All my friends were out having fun, probably not even noticing that I’m not there. And James is probably having fun at his convention.
I want to take everything off, get into my pyjamas, curl into bed and sleep. Then I can forget about this night completely. I start with my hair, slowly taking the pins out and letting my hair fall down.
Before I get very far I hear a knock on my door. Already frustrated I yell out, “Mum I told you I’m fine. I’m just going to bed and I’ll forget about it.”
“Um- y/n? It’s James.” I hear in response. I quickly scram to wipe my face.
“Hold on! I’m um- changing!” I yell out. When I’ve done the best job I can (which isn’t a very good one to be honest), I open the door and am faced with James. In a suit. And a Doctor Who scarf. With his hair done. Looking so, so handsome.
“James? What are you- why are you- huh?” I splutter out, unable to gather my thoughts.
“Wow. You look amazing. I- wow.” That takes me by surprise. After a moment he shakes his head and realises I’m still waiting for an answer. “Oh! Your mum called, she said your date didn’t show up.”
“Oh. It um really doesn’t matter. I didn’t like him anyway.”
“T-then why do you look like you’ve been crying.” I chuckle at that.
“It doesn’t matter. What about your Doctor Who convention? You were so excited for it.” He shrugs.
“I’ll go to the next one. Do you er, wanna go to prom together?” I almost start crying again at that. He looks so goddamn handsome, I want to mess his hair though.
“I look a mess, you’ll have to give me 10 minutes to fix all this.” I indicate towards my face. He walks towards me, just a few steps, looking almost nervous. “But yes, I’d love to.” He breathes out, smiling. “You can just sit on the bed if you like, and I’ll um try to fix this.”
He nods a little and sits on the bed while I get started on pinning my hair back. I think I can feel him staring at me, one quick glance tells me I’m right. “What?” I laugh, seeing him just watching me.
“You’re just- pretty. I mean you always are but you put a lot of effort into it and you just. You look perfect.” I can’t not blush at that, so I look away and finish off the look.
“Ready?” I ask him. He stands up and holds his hand out for me to take. I slide my hand into his and smile, standing up.
“Let’s go then.”

TyZula 14
and/or
Azutara 22
Hello, @jn3m0!!
Here's Tyzula 14! Lab partners AU!
Ty Lee’s favorite subject was never science. She hated the teacher, she hated the labs, and she hated the classmates. And that was saying a lot, because Ty Lee rarely hated anyone. However, she couldn’t bring herself to like anyone in the class. They were rude, mean, and, whenever she was stuck with one of them for assignment, they made her do all the work. That’s why, when her teacher said they would have a lab with a partner for their final, Ty Lee wanted to cry.
Of course, she would get stuck with someone who would expect her to do all the work. It’s not her fault anatomy was so easy for her or that the teacher liked her so this whole class was pretty much a cakewalk. When the professor said they would get a partner for their final, Ty Lee could feel everyone’s eyes go to her.
As the professor read off names, Ty Lee resigned herself to just playing with her pencil. There was nothing she could do. She’d get a partner who’d use her for the work then call her a rat if she said anything. Despite her place on the cheerleaders and self defense skills, Ty Lee was not a fan of the verbal bullying she had taken after alerting the teacher the first time someone used her for a grade. After that, she vowed to just take it. So what? It didn’t matter. At least she was going to pass this class. That’s what counted.
“Ty Lee, you’ll be paired with Azula Agni.” The teacher said, moving on to the next student.
Azula Agni? She had never heard that name before. She turned around and scanned the room to see if she could spot the person the teacher had assigned her to and found nothing. The rest of the class went on as usual and then the bell rang.
As Ty Lee packed up, she felt a hand poke her shoulder. When Ty Lee turned around she saw a girl with long black hair, golden eyes, and wearing mostly red and black. If Ty Lee was honest with herself, this girl was beautiful. How did she miss her?
“I’m Azula Agni.” She told her, “Since we’re working together, do you want to come over to my house tonight to start? I’d rather not leave it for the last minute.” She pushed her long black hair back behind her ear as her foot tapped against the floor.
“Ummmmm…”
“I would prefer my house. It’s the Agni mansion at the top of Caldera hill.” Azula said. To others it would seem like Azula was boasting but somehow her tone told Ty Lee she wasn’t trying to. She was just giving her information.
“Oh. Ummm…sorry it’s just that most people want me to do everything and then we’ll meet up at my house for ten minutes so they can say they helped out.” Ty Lee told her, “We can do your house.”
Azula raised a single eyebrow then lowered it, “I can assure you that will not be me. You remember where my house is?”
“Yes.”
“Good. My father doesn’t return home until 8:30. You need to leave before he comes back so I think you should arrive around 4 and leave at 8. One of the servants can prepare dinner for you if you’d like.” Azula said, walking out of the room.
Okay.
Not exactly how she thought this class would go.
————————————
Wow. Azula was not kidding when she said they owned a mansion. Her house was nice, it had to be it housed nine people, but this place looked like it could easily contain fifty. In the driveway were incredibly expensive cars, all with the brightest color paints. The mansion did look pretty old though. If Ty Lee had to guess, she’d say Azula was from old money.
“Ty Lee. Come inside.” Azula called, waving her in.
“Your house is amazing.” Ty Lee whispered.
“Thank you. It was built by my great, great, great grandfather and passed down to my father and, one day, to me. We should work in my room so we don’t break anything.” Azula warned.
“Okay. Will there be enough room?” Ty Lee asked.
A chuckle escaped Azula, “Oh! You’re not kidding. Don’t worry. My room will have plenty of space.” And she was right.
Her room could easily fit three big queen sized beds and still have some room left for people to move around. Not to mention to had a large balcony, a bathroom in her room, a large dresser, table, a couch and everything was absolutely perfect. It was like historians had come in here and perfectly preserved everything in its right spot.
“Wow.” Ty Lee whispered.
“Thank you. So, what’s our lab on?” Azula asked.
The final seemed to be the same as the midterm. They would do half the work out of class, mostly the research, then come into class during the last day and prove to the teacher that they knew what they were talking about.
“Do you want to handle the anatomy for the nerves and I’ll do muscle?” Azula asked.
“You know muscle is like…half of the work?” Ty Lee clarified.
“Yes. You do half and I do half and we’ll do the final lab together at the end of the week.”
“Wow.”
“Wow?”
“Sorry. I’ve just never had a partner who wants to the work. Most of them just stick me with it while they’re on their phones.” She said.
“Idiots.” Azula rolled her eyes, “Though it is nice to hear that I was paired up with the only smart person in that class.” Ty Lee blushed when Azula called her smart.
“So, why haven’t I seen you that much in class?” Ty Lee asked, “I didn’t even know your name until today.”
“I’m a transfer.” Azula explained, “I joined the class after winter break because my other class was full of idiots. I’m coming to see it’s a school wide problem.”
“There are some smart people at that school.” Ty Lee argued.
“Yes, you and me, but we don’t seem to have that much competition.” Azula smirked.
Again, Ty Lee blushed, “So, what else do you do? Are you on any teams?” She asked. It felt so weird to be in complete silence and Azula, for her part, didn’t seem to mind the questions.
“I’m on mock trial and model UN.” She said, “Then I have a waitressing job at my dad’s country club on the weekends.”
“Wow. That seems like a lot of work.” Ty Lee winced, “If I had to do all that I think my head would explode.”
“It can be challenging but it’s nothing I can’t handle.” Azula said, examining her nails, “What about you? What do you do when you’re not in school?”
“Cheerleading.” Ty Lee told her, “I do it with my friend Suki. We just went to nationals last week and we were so close to winning too but we screwed up our final move and lost, but still it was so much fun! We all went out for a big dinner afterwards!”
“Your coaches weren’t…upset that you lost?” Azula asked.
“I mean no one was jumping for joy but we had fun and we made it really far. Now we know enough so that we can try again next year. Why? What would your coaches do if you lost a competition?”
Azula pressed her lips together and looked back down at her paper, “They aren’t who I’d be worried about.” The way she spoke made it clear to Ty Lee she didn’t want to talk about that anymore.
“Okay. Well…what do you do for fun?” Ty Lee asked.
“Not much. Like you said I’m very busy so I don’t have much time for fun things.”
“That’s kind sad.” Ty Lee said.
“It’s worth it.” Azula argued, “It’s what I have to do to be perfect.”
“And why do you want to be perfect?”
“You don’t?” Azula looked at her like she was insane.
“I don’t think it’s possible for a person to be perfect. You’re human, not a machine.” How did their conversation go from talking about what they should do for the final to this? Azula looked at Ty Lee for a few moments, as if trying to see if the girl was serious or not, then turned her attention back to her work and didn’t speak again for the rest of the night.
————————————
The lab wasn’t until Friday so they have the entire week to work on the partner portion of it. Ty Lee continued to come to Azula’s house and the girls continued to talk and work together. Then, one day, Azula put her books down, stood up and offered Ty Lee her hand.
“I need to walk around for a few minutes. Want to join me?” She asked.
“Sure!”
The two began walking around the place, going outside and inside the mansion. Ty Lee typically ran in front of Azula and pointed out different things as if Azula didn’t live there.
“What’s this?” Ty Lee asked, gesturing to a small door that was camouflaged into the wall.
“Secret passageway. When it was build, it was for the purpose of hiding from intruders but now it’s mostly just for show.” Azula told her.
“Let’s see where it goes.” Ty Lee opened the door and climbed inside.
“No, Ty Lee, we shouldn’t do that. My father will-“
“Come on, Azula. He’ll never know. We’ll be in and out.” Azula still looked a little nervous but tried to keep her normal calm expression. After a few seconds she climbed in after Ty Lee.
The girls had to be on their hands and knees to get around but they eventually found their way all over the place. The tunnels were meant to go from one side of the mansion to the other so its residents would be able to escape.
“Great. We found a way to crawl over the mansion. Come on. We should get back.” Azula said.
“Alright.” Ty Lee groaned, “You’re no fun.”
“I’m loads of fun.” Azula argued.
“Name one fun thing you’ve done.”
“…My brother and I once jumped out of the second floor window into the pool. We broke a lot of bones but we had fun that day.” Azula laughed.
Ty Lee was laughing too, “How did you think that was a good idea?”
“In my defense, I was eight. Zuzu was supposed to be the responsible one.”
“He’s older?”
“By two years.” Azula responded, “He’s…away for the time being which is why he’s not around.”
A feeling crept into Ty Lee telling her there was more to the story but she didn’t press the issue. Azula grabbed hold of the opening to the door and tried to open it but it refused to move.
“Move! You stupid-HELP! Someone! We’re in here!” Azula screamed.
“Are we stuck in here?” Ty Lee asked.
“What did you think I meant when I started yelling for help?!?” Azula yelled, “We’re stuck in here and my dad will come and he’ll find us and now we were messing around and-“
“He won’t be that mad that we were just playing around, will he?” Ty Lee asked.
“Yes! Yes, he will!” Azula yelled, “I told you! I told you this was a bad idea! I-…he’ll…”
“It’s okay. It’ll be okay.” Ty Lee promised, but Azula’s breathing remained erratic, “Did you and Zuko do any other crazy things?” She asked. Maybe talking about her brother would calm things down.
Azula nodded, “One time…while we were playing hide and seek…he tried to hide on the roof and got stuck. No one could find him for hours. Finally, I went outside and heard him yelling. We had to call the fire department to get him down.” Ty Lee laughed alongside her.
“Reminds me of me and my sisters. I’m one of six so the house was always crowded and I needed somewhere to work. My ten year old brain told me to work in the attic except I had no clue the attic door locked and I was stuck there for three hours.”
Slowly, the conversation began to turn. It went from talking about childhood events to school to crushes.
“Hey.” Ty Lee looked over at Azula, a gesture that probably meant nothing seeing as how it was incredibly dark in the tunnel, “What do you think of the Chan?”
“That idiot jock who sits behind me in class. What about him?” Ty Lee asked.
“I think he’s…cute.” Azula admitted. It felt so weird saying that out loud. There had never been anyone she could really talk to about this before. It did seem kind of weird to Azula to be talking about one crush with another.
“No! Azula!” Ty Lee’s head fell in her hands.
“What?”
“You can do so much better than that idiot!”
“Like who?” Azula asked.
Ty Lee opened her mouth but instantly closed it. Even in the almost total darkness it didn’t take a genius to understand that both of them were blushing. Suddenly, the door opened up, letting light fill the tunnel and revealing the face of a female servant.
“Are you two okay?”
“Amaya!” Azula called, “Thank you for letting us out.”
“Of course.” Amaya quickly bowed them left them alone.
"Well that was fun." Ty Lee chuckled, "Sorry about us getting stuck."
"It's alright. To be honest that was probably the most fun I've had in a long time."
Ty Lee beamed at her when she added, "I'm glad it was with you."
Azula looked up at the clock, 7:34, then back at Ty Lee. She bit her lip, the question was on the up of her tongue but she couldn't bring herself to say it. It was like it was stuck in her throat and no matter what she did nothing would get it out.
"I should go." Ty Lee said, "You're dad will be home soon." The girl turned from Azula and began walking towards the door but not before Azula launched out and grabbed her wrist.
"Ty Lee, wait." Her grip loosened when she realized how strongly she was holding onto her, "I...You don't have to leave yet. You could stay for a little while longer. This is a big mansion and even if you ended up staying another few hours my father would never know."
The cheerleader smiled, "Okay, but can I ask: why do you want me to stay?"
"I...I'm very good at reading people."
Okay. Not the answer Ty Lee expected her to give but she supposed she could see where the teenager was going with this, "And?" Ty Lee asked.
"I usually know what people are going to say even when I can't really see them. In the tunnel, you were going to say that you were the person I could go better with, weren't you?"
Ohhhh, she was good. Ty Lee felt her cheeks burn hot red but Azula kept her gaze. Golden eyes locked onto brown ones. In seconds, Ty Lee went through her options. She could run, she could deny it, she could ask to leave, those were all valid options. However, they weren't the ones she was leaning towards.
"Do you...Are you-“
"I'm bi." Azula admitted, "No one knows and I mean no one. I only know because my first crush was that June actress from Ride or Die." Azula chuckled.
"Now that's a choice for someone that has taste. Not Chan." Ty Lee wrinkled her face when she said his name which just made Azula laugh more.
"Sue me. My taste in guys isn't the best."
"Isn't the best? A blind and deaf straight woman would know Chan sucks."
"Hey! I like to think I have better taste than a blind and deaf straight woman."
"I don't know, Zula, you're not exactly helping your case by saying you want to date Chan."
Azula was so relaxed that the next words just slipped out of her mouth, "Would I help my case by saying I want to date you?" Both of them froze, "I-I mean...I didn't-"
"You could." Ty Lee interrupted, "And, by the way, you were right when you said I was talking about myself in the tunnel. I happen to think I'd be an extreme improvement over Chan." Azula smiled at her, walking up so that they were less than half an inch apart.
"I think so too."
"So, do you want to go on a date?" Ty Lee asked. Maybe it was a stupid question to ask, but she had to make sure.
“I’d love to.”
