DAIMA EP.1 (Spoiler) Review:
•Clearly every single Buu saga related thing Degesu and King Gohma review is not only a refresher course for them,but also a list of things we, the audience must keep in mind.
(Sadly, many people don't understand that was the point...)
•Aside from tying demon lineage to the Namekians/nearly every character with pointy ears (barring the Kais who are still born from fruit), many people tend to gloss over King Gohma mentioning that pointy ears are also tied to magic users to some degree. (Mentioned while watching Goku vs Majin Vegeta) I'm sure the show will explain these ties in further detail going forward, but alas, it's left many people confused.
•This "Evil Third Eye" (Tertian Oculus) that grants immense power is probably either gonna look as silly as a googly eye or look metal AF. There's no in-between with Toriyama.
•Not only have a new set of balls been introduced, but rather than simply picking them up off the ground, Goku will likely be the one battling the guardians of said balls. (Possibly with help from Glorio and Panzy)
•White magic and Dark magic are mentioned. Perhaps the Demon realms dragon balls can only grant negative/evil wishes. We'll have to see.
•King Gohma is going to visit all three worlds in the demon realm for his coronation party and speak to (introduce us to) even more demons (Majins) and lore. (Hopefully)
•Neva, the Namekian of the demon realm, who is thousands of years old is clearly an extremely powerful magic user and thankfully seems to be the chatty type who will likely drop tons of Namekian lore. I hope. Also, he's stinky.

Dragon Ball Daima 01x13 - Surprise
And we're back. I think episode 12 was probably the halfway point for the series?
And holy shit. This is just gonna be non-stop bitching 'cause this is hands-down the worst episode of Dragon Ball Daima. I genuinely cannot imagine a worse episode than this existing.
This is worse than that time Gomah and Degesu spent half an episode watching Dragon Ball Z and nerding out over how much better of a show it was.
This guy's so fucking screwed. Gomah's never been a credible opponent, and now he's got both Dr. Arinsu and the Dragon Team gunning for him.
Degesu's reaction to shutting down Warp-sama is surprising. He legit acts like this is the most unthinkably vile thing anyone's ever done.
There's a bit of metaphysical whiplash going on here where it's like.
Oh shit! They're gonna, like, attack Warp-sama or kidnap Warp-sama or--
Oh, no. Warp-sama's just a machine. There's a switch in the basement they can use to turn Warp-sama on or off with at any time. It's fine.
BUT turning Warp-sama off is, like, the most heinous thing ever. Like, even for a bunch of fascists in the demon world, THIS is a bridge too far. How DARE.
Neva over here still trying to make krakens seem menacing after we already beat one's ass last episode.
It's fine. He never opens his eyes so he might not have seen that.
Yeah, crashing makes sense. Popping into Makai #2 just to grab the Dragon Ball and then skedaddling did seem a bit too easy. We already visited the former home of the Namekians. This is gonna be the former home of the Glind, then?
Yeah, but we've defeated two Tamagami. I think we'll be fine.
Bulma and Pansy nerding out about tech together is the best part of this episode. I haven't even finished the episode yet as I say this. I just know nothing's gonna top this.
^_^
The mega-hamsters are adorable and I kind of love them. XD But also they're only a threat because Vegeta's the only one actually willing to fight them.
I really hope this is going somewhere because we're halfway through the episode and this detour has, so far, been utterly inconsequential.
A "stranded in bear country" type episode generally serves the purposes of forcing a small number of characters into a tight situation where they'll have to interact with one another, building their dynamic with each other or forging one anew.
But we have the entire cast stranded in bear country and all we're doing is walking around going, "Sure is bear country around here."
Man, they really do think "what if things were very big" is in and of itself, interesting enough to carry an entire episode premise.
Over two minutes of this episode is just watching this kid sit down and have lunch while everyone goes "OH MY GOD IT EATS LUUUUUUUUUNCH!?!?!?!?"
Toei. You do not have a manga to keep pace with. You do not need to insert filler.
Just punch it really hard, Goku.
Thanks, Vegeta. You're the only character not pretending to be threatened by this stupid filler plot, and I appreciate you for that.
Sure, that might as well happen.
I mean, you're using 0.25% of your speed right now, and also you can teleport. But sure.
(sigh) Do I even need to say it?
Goku is choosing to lose this altercation.
At least Vegeta's kicking things up to a Super Saiyan form. He's not faring much better but, like, I can believe he's actually trying to win. That's what's important. It's not about the results, it's about selling the idea that this character is committed to the task that they're doing.
I dunno. Maybe you should just teleport and not be in this situation.
Maybe you should just teleport and not be in this situation.
God, we had a whole episode re-establishing Goku's ability to teleport and everything. This is literally the one and only character in the entire cast who can't be put in predicaments like this.
And now he's free-falling into a bag while screaming for his life.
This character who can both fly and teleport is trapped in free-fall and screaming for his life.
And it all culminates in a desperate last second dive to save Goku from being crushed, because he refuses to teleport out of IDK sportsmanship or whatever.
This is so boring. It's the first episode of Daima I actually had to force myself to finish because it was unwatchably bad. Absolutely nothing happened. We got lost in bear country and then proceeded to be menaced by bears because we forgot how our powers work.
This would fit right in as an episode of Dragon Ball GT. The first arc, were Trunks has to go Super Saiyan to lift some breaks and everyone keeps forgetting how to fly. That's how bad this is.

Time for my little review of Dragon Ball Daima episode 2 !
It was a good episode, I enjoyed it a lot!! Really, for now Daima is great and doesn't disappoint me !
Some little things about the series :
I don't remember if I said it before, but Daima is visually beautiful. The animation, designs, character designs, everything is great and cool to watch ! Which is by the way amazing after the visual mess that Dragon Ball Super was.
The opening and ending are great 🎶
Now about the episode in itself :
The lore keeps being amazing and interesting ! That little thing about how the Namekians/Namekujin left the Daima world was very interesting, for example !
I love the little teasings about the characters and their lives. For now many of them are mysterious, we all want to know more about them, and this episode does a good job teasing us a bit and making us even more interested ! The parts about Gomah, about Kaïoshin's past and his brother, about Neva's backstory... I am hyped not gonna lie ! I can't wait to learn more about Neva, to understand why they said Gomah was so dangerous while for now he just looks like a clown, to know what's Kaïoshin's relationship with his brother...
The humor was great. Seriously, it was so funny. That line when Shenron said he only gave three wishes to the regulars cracked me up lol. All the episode was funny and I really liked it!
Gokū with his Nyoibō!!!! One of my favourite parts!!! I was so happy to see Gokū with his Nyoibō again!!! I had missed it!! The Nyoibō was such an important object in the first Dragon Ball series/at the beginning of the manga, it was emblematic, and I had missed it in DBZ/DBS/the rest of the manga, so I was sooooo happy (and a bit nostalgic!) when I saw Gokū with it again!
Kid Vegeta is adorable. Nothing to add.
I love Gokū's personality and energy, in this ep and in the first two. He looks more like himself, and it's cool. DBS gave him such a shitty personality, and I was afraid we would see that version of him again, but for now it's not the case and it's a good thing!
Gokū as a kid is even more adorable. Still nothing to add.
I like how Bulma treats Kibito as her servant. Go on Queen.
The seiyus (voice actors) are amazing! Masako Nozawa is OF COURSE incredible but I'll talk about it later because she deserves her own point haha. I didn't mention it a lot after the first episode because the characters we love didn't talk that much, but the seiyus are great. Of course, it's still weird to hear that new voice for Bulma, but her original seiyu died (💔) some years ago so they didn't have another choice, her new seiyu honestly does a great job! Same for all the other seiyus, I love the new characters' voices, and the seiyus of the characters we already knew are still doing a perfect job! For now in Daima, I especially love Vegeta's and Piccolo's seiyus' work - and obviously the best is still queen Masako Nozawa !
Masako Nozawa. What can I even say about her ? What a queen, what a goddess, what a legend. Those of you who only watch the dub don't know what you miss because NOBODY can voice a character the way Masako Nozawa voices Gokū, and nobody can voice Gokū the way Masako Nozawa voices Gokū. There's no word to describe how talented she is, how incredible Gokū's voice is, how amazing the passion she puts in her work is! Can you believe that she's almost 90??? That's CRAZY. She's a LEGEND.
It was so, so, so great to hear her voice Kid Gokū again! I love her Kid Gokū voice! I was smiling like an idiot during the whole episode just because of that! And of course it made me nostalgic but in a happy way haha, I had flash-backs of Kid Gokū meeting Bulma for the first time and going on adventures with her and I loved it.
The only little thing I didn't like was Neva saying he couldn't bring back the Dragon Ball like he did a second time. Didn't seem very logical, it kind of sounded like script facility, it was a bit lazy. Of course they couldn't make him do that twice but it would have been better if they'd explained why before. But that's like... a very very little flaw so it doesn't really matter. Edit : someone in the comments told me that they thought Neva was just fucking with us because he didn't want Gomah to do what he wanted to do with that wish and it actually makes a lot of sense, I think it's what happened!
I WANNA SEE GOHAN. WHERE IS GOHAN? I just KNOW something will happen with him, but what? Can't wait to know!
Anyway, this episode was really great, I really like Daima so far, I am sooo hyped and I can't wait to see the next episode!
Hope everyone enjoyed it too :)

Dragon Quest Easter Egg in Dragon Ball Daima!?
During the explanation of the Third Evil Eye's power and it's use by the Supreme Demon Kings of the past they show us the silhouettes of various Demon Kings. And the last one has a very peculiar silhouette.
And that's because it's almost identical to the most famous and most powerful Archfiend in all Dragon Quest series:
ZOMA
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2bdefaf92b1ee24863bafb60f1dbd2f/215840b607cde9b8-b6/s540x810/a77ce3dc5521918337b130257aa9c34632d65bc2.webp)
Which considering that both series where drawn by Akira Toriyama it's kind of makes sense, to be honest. And it's a pretty cool Easter Egg.
Now, I won't be able to not think that Zoma owes it's power to a magical artifact.
I would also like to take this opportunity to point out another similarity with another big bad from Dragon Quest: Nimzo and Demon King Piccolo.
After many years Daima has confirmed/retcon that the Namekians are truly demons and not aliens, returning the link with the Archfiend from Dragon Quest V, Nimzo, who looked strongly like a Namekian, especially after seeing the inmense magical power that Neva seems to hold.

Daima 11 was a riot, thanks to the encounter between Neva and the cast: apparently our guy remained behind because he expects the other Namekians to come back EVENTUALLY and someone has to hold the fort; also, he never used the Tamagami to take over the Great Demon Realm because Namekians shouldn't use their power for conflict, or so he said right in front of PICCOLO (yes, everyone reacted to that); finally, he joined the group because his Dragon Balls only work with Namekian language and Piccolo FORGOT HOW TO SPEAK IT (nevermind
Also, I've heard a couple interesting theories: one posits that Zeno and the Angels are from another realm entirely and the mortal world is ruled by them by virtue of their designs intersecting with those of the ancient Good Demon King and Rymus (the Super Majin that created the Mortal Realms on the other guy's orders), leading to some sort of deal; the other is that the ancient Good Demon King may be the phantomatic Zalama, creator of the Super Dragon Balls, based on the fact his name was left suspiciously unmentioned and it would fit the theme of his two known successors Abura and Dabura (Abra and Kadabra, with Zalama being Alakazam).
And now I'm imagining Dabura fighting with a spoon and the unnamed Demon King going around with two...
Almost forgot: Neva originally intended his Dragon Balls as a reward for Nameks that accomplished great deeds (such as the Namekian ones and the Super, the latter of which were only properly used after someone gained the right to do so by triumphing over formidable foes), but after evil Demons learned of them he created the Tamagami to insure they couldn't be misused. Or so he says. We already knows he's playing up his senility... Then again, it fits how the Tamagami are willing to let opponents leave alive if they admit their inferiority.
This definitely sounds like setup for something

EPISODE 10: OCEAN
Mmm, delicious cameo crumbs
We're off to the Second Demon World, but not before we see Majin Kuu in action against Tamagami Number One! The Tamagami's a sword-wielder and... Kuu doesn't really have anything special to offer besides being absolutely going animal. He's got a few basic energy attacks, a few from the mouth, but I'd be curious to see how they stretch this guy into a Sparking Zero moveset.
With the Gendarmerie plane, they could very reasonably skip straight to the final boss, but they're on a Dragon Ball hunt and Gomah has a long term plan for plan for Dende, so the rescue mission is priority 2.
World 2 has much lighter air and is a big wide ocean like the episode title suggests, chock full of krakens! I like how it has the little Majin Buu hair swirl. It also has a bunch of floating mini planets in the atmosphere- so after we lose the plane again to the rest of the Gendarmerie (who Goku mows down with ease now that he's faster) and a giant kraken, it's off to Even Older Namek to recuperate... and no one's home.
Meanwhile with the B Team (don't have to call them that for much longer), Hybis wants to swipe Bulma from Vegeta and there's some brief debate of whether Bulma wants to be part of the back to normal wish. Bulma's gushing over her clear skin, but Vegeta's insistent on them growing back up together also, he's implied to a boobs man
"We're already married!" "I don't mind." Hybis polyamorous confirmed?
Also, the subs had Vegeta call Goku "stupid Kakarot", but... I definitely heard a kusottare. ...Yeah, he didn't call him "stupid".
Everyone seems to forget that Piccolo was born on Earth- c'mon, Goku and Bulma should know this. He does seem to have some vague nostalgia, so maybe there's a bit of King Piccolo and Kami poking in.
Goku briefly recalling how he blew up Old-But-Newer-Than-This-One Namek, Frieza got a few more cameo frames!
Meanwhile, Majin Kuu failed his task and tries to get Arinsu to reconsider firing him- he's still good for shopping! Are we going to keep cooking Majins until one works. What other wacky designs do we have in store?
Now that everyone's all together, it's time for the lore dump!
Turns out the main universe was not made by Zeno or even the Great Priest but the Super Majin (not making this title up) Rymus. And the multiverse is still a thing! The Glinds were sent to the individual numbered universes- we got all the Supreme Kais! No confirmation of any Gods of Destruction, but...
Someone wake the Gowasu blog! There he is!
AND OUR BOY FUWA!! I will take whatever Universe 6 content I can get, even if it's just the Kai, I love my cameo light snack.
Turns out the Glinds are a dying breed now that the trees have died out.
Even so, it's time to hit the road again towards the next Dragon Ball... Only for Neva the geriatric Namekian to come creeping up...
Next episode: We check back in with Arinsu and the next Tamagami fight commences- this time, Vegeta gets to take a swing!

DAIMA EP.8 (SPOILER) Review/theories.
• Gotta gush about the fight, of course. Tamagami #3's reflexes & fighting instincts in general were top-notch/surprisingly sharp for someone who'd been standing around for years. The other two are surely no different. Being able to magically manipulate his hammer mjölnir style of course implies that Tamagamis #1+2 can/will do the same.
• I've enjoyed/appreciated all the nyoibo action thus far, but Goku sheathing it Future Trunks sword style was raw AF. & Immediately after using it to snap his opponent's weapon's hilt too!
• As I stated in a previous review, (EP.6) Goku has in fact acclimated to the weight of 3rd world's air.
• Goku's verbal response to Tamagami #3's red blasts leads me to believe they're ki blasts, which might imply that Neva has known about ki/ki manipulation this entire time, but has never shared this info nor taught a single demon about it all this time. (Maybe part of some sort of contingency/emergency plan?)
• Not sure if it only applies to #3, but while powering up, he let steam out of his body, similar to the way Buu does. Neat detail.
• #3's sudden surrender tells me that the fight itself was meant to test if the person who earns the dragon ball can keep it safe on their own while they go collect the rest, while the second test focuses on attentiveness. Not letting the ball out of your sight & stuff like that. You really gotta earn it, not just fight to take it.
• Also, golly that second test was Hunter x Hunter-coded.
• The little respectful bow Goku did after thanking #3 for the ball... & The way #3 was practicing the Kamehameha before waving goodbye... T_T
• Vegeta & co. are gonna hafta meet up with Goku & crew in the second world. I'm sure we'll spend time watching Piccolo getting in touch with his roots. More Namekian lore is always welcome. There's really nothing for Vegeta & Piccolo in 3rd world, anyways...
• Eagle eyes Degesu returns.
• Dr Arinsu sneaking up to collect a sample of Buu post-Vegeta's sacrifice was not only genius on her part, but Toriyama's as well. After all, she's not a ki user & Piccolo was miles away for a bit. She could've also cloaked her presence with magic, too. Must have used teleportation magic to sneak around, keeping a safe distance from Buu's fight while waiting to pounce. (Kai-Kai?)
• We're introduced to a witch named "Marba". Based on the Majin "M" emblem that can be seen in the stained glass of her front door+the one on her outfit, which was even zoomed in on+ the fact she was the one who created Buu, (& the fact her name starts with "M") we can assume that the emblem was her's all along, so Bibidi (& by extension Babidi) straight up shamelessly appropriated it.
• Dr Arinsu admits to having constructed a Majin of her own a while ago, but it wasn't powerful enough to "beat her", which tells me she always wanted one powerful enough to to beat/assassinate previous Supreme Kings, but only now has the resources.
• Guess Toriyama didn't like his old idea of Majin Buu existing since time in memorial, & came up with an equally (if not a lil more) interesting origin. Marba, who despite being powerful enough to create a creature like Buu, just straight up didn't bother taking credit for him because she deemed him a failure, & instead let a reckless imbecile like Bibidi "use" & take credit for Buu. After asking Marba to make Buu for him, no less. So disrespectful, Bibidi.
• Majin Buu being so dangerous that entire races like Glinds & Namekians not only fled their home world, but outright abandoned their own Realm, is quite a compelling backstory for all parties involved. I view the fact that only "some" Glinds were killed a small miracle.
• Dr Arinsu sure loves her hover-hookah.
• Marba mentioned she "focused on controllability", so this new Majin might not be as strong as kid Buu, but surely still deadly. (& will hopefully have a personality) If even a powerful witch like her says that King Gohma isn't a pushover, then perhaps he rivaled Dabura's strength with pure destructive magic power.
• My theory about Dr Arinsu just using Goku & friends to gather the Demon Realm dragon balls through Glorio was completely correct.
• Buff red haired demon lady from Kadan's castle has fangs. I NEED TO KNOW HER NAME, TOEI. (& The name of the short haired demon lady, too.)
• Cute domesticated-Vegeta moment at the end there. Saiyan/Namek saga Vegeta would've just murdered Hybis & flown off to question random strangers.
• Marba's tree/cottage/floating island sure has pretty colors. Wouldn't mind hanging out in a VR Chat recreation of it. Play with the cauldron a little.
• Next EP looks like it's gonna be super cute, at least.

Just Finished Daima Ep 1
Very interesting. Daima is still technically set DURING Super, but not at the point we all thought. Seems the trailers used designs specifically not in the final product, hence the confusion. But it's actually set in the years-long gap between Episodes 2 (set shortly after Buu's defeat) and 3 of Super. Trunks is turning 9, so this is about two years (or less) post-Buu. The Namekian Neva, though... now HE'S one of the more interesting additions to the series for me. Very interested to learn more about him and why he seems to have abilities no other Namekian has. This first episode alone has me super intrigued, so many lore implications here. (Edited to correct the episode number placement)

daima ep 2 - stuff I noticed, relating to this episode or not
(find me on bluesky for more, I think I might be leaving twittxr soon)
~~~
Three Demon Worlds
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cba1ef9664f44df52494326b55f640be/15b7ba44cc7ebbc2-70/s540x810/9d03ecd2361ec6a258f6579ac2fea5edb00b1acb.jpg)
The Demon Realm's 3 sectors were teased in some of the initial posters, before we knew there were 3 different distinct areas and 3 Dragonballs/3 Tmagami to go with them. I assume the Tamagami will be in each area above as pictured in the opening. (Water area?! Let's goooo)
~~~
A Devilish Symbol
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/445e6675c7faf355e2db6ab016c53e13/15b7ba44cc7ebbc2-26/s540x810/6683734225e9b87df6ed58a909231224ee18b308.jpg)
Another early tease was the symbol used on these soldiers' armour. Clearly the logo has horns that resemble Gomah, but also we can see the coveted Evil Third Eye in the logo?! Toriyama is a genius. The horns could also resemble Dabura, or maybe any other Demon King? Maybe the main Demon realm as a whole?
~~~
Our New Daima Dragon
Initially, I saw this random shot in the opening, and I thought "oh no, please don't let this guy be the new dragon." Dragon, you may ask? Well, yeah. Glowing red eyes, purple and yellow theme to match the Daima logo, unseen lower half, and horns that aren't too different from the Porunga we know. (Degesu said he knew of Porunga, but didn't seem to know about the U7 Planet Namek and their DB set, so I assume their OG Demon Realm Dragonball set will also be named Porunga. Super Porunga, maybe, to differentiate. Speaking of that, you can hear Neva uttering a Namekian summoning phrase at the beginning of one of the final trailers. Dorusie is the name, going by other Namekian summoning passwords, maybe? Dorushie?) Plus there's the whole thing of Toriyama occasionally reusing designs, and there's a similar bull design he used in Blue Dragon, where the Shadows stretch out from their wielders like dragon gods do in DB. Howeverrrr--
What if all the feathers in the opening/ending aren't only a tribute to Toriyama? (That's self explanatory, right? Not to mention the opening lyrics sneaking in his name.) I'm not gonna deny that the feathers are related to Toriyama.
What if the feathers are alluding to a feathered dragon? All the opening's shots with feathers show Goku as an adult, and while the ending's feather bits definitely feel more like a Toriyama homage with the sentimental lyrics, there is a clear shape at the very end... Maybe not just a bird.
I think Dragon Ball Daima will have a twist main villain.
I don't think the final boss will be Gomah. They've already foreshadowed that Gomah could gain unbelievable power with the Evil Third Eye, but having "unbelievable power" be tied to an artifact that needs to be equipped and can be lost makes it ripe for betrayal and subversion.
The way I see it, there are two main candidates for True Main Villain of Dragon Ball Daima.
The first is Dr. Arinsu.
She's the most obvious choice. She's an evil scientist with a design that is reminiscent of Towa. She's also a Core Person, the sister of the Makaioshin. And she's been shown to be sneaky and scary already. If they want to canonize Towa, or something like her, Dr. Arinsu is the best bet.
But I think she's a red herring. I think she will have a moment where it looks like she'll be the True Main Villain, only for it to fall out from under her.
The second is Neva.
Yes, the geriatric old man Namekian. I think Neva will be the twist main villain of Dragon Ball Daima. The first episode set him up as this stinky old grandpa, until it revealed that he's actually extremely powerful in Dragon Ball magic, able to sense, summon, and restore Earth's Dragon Balls. And also extremely knowledgeable.
Also the episode subtly revolves around him. Gomah can't use the Demon World Dragon Balls because all three of them are guarded by Kamen Rider-looking creatures called Tamagamis. I think the Tamagamis are obviously going to be mini-bosses for Goku to fight near the end of the series, but it should be remembered that Neva created both the Dragon Balls and the Tamagamis themselves.
In order for Neva to create the powerful Tamagami warriors, he must have used some very powerful creation magic indeed. These are guardians that Gomah, the current Demon King, is terrified of, and they bow to Neva. No-one has made a wish on the Dragon Balls for a long time because of those Tamagami warriors, and that presumably includes Dabura, back when he was Demon King.
The episode also makes multiple references to Namekian lore, almost like it's an important plot point.
Neva says that he hasn't seen a Namekian in thousands of years. Thousands. PLURAL. That's insanely long-lived, even for a Namekian. The climate catastrophe that Kami was sent away from only happened 500 years ago. He did this favor for Gomah in exchange for having 1000 more years of life, presumably this isn't the first time he's made deals like this to artificially extend his lifespan.
My assumption is that collecting the Demon World Dragon Balls is going to be Goku's main quest in the Demon World, for whatever reason. And I think Neva has some grand master plan, where he created the Tamagamis and sealed away the Demon World Dragon Balls for some reason, and now that he's met other Namekians and the Evil Third Eye will be found, that will be the moment he's been waiting for.
Also, he just gives me creepy vibes. Maybe it's the black rings around his eyes that make it look like he knows more than he's letting on. Maybe it's the fact that his eyes turned red when using magic, or he let out an evil cackle when restoring the Dragon Balls.
just caught up with dragon ball daima!!! good shit!!! here are my thoughts!!!
i always like the bits where goku or vegeta kick the shit out of these big gruff toughguy lookin motherfuckers, i love the idea of a tiny kid just absolutely wrecking a seasoned wannabe badass adult
i love evil women so arinsu is definitely a favorite!!! i like how she's a lot more calculating than most dragon ball villains and how she's not just Straightforwardly The Most Powerful y'know
i like how long it took for goku to get "serious" i.e. actually using super saiyan and ki blasts. just shows how far beneath basically everyone in this series is relative to the main guys
i like the tamagami!!! i like how it's not just a test of strength but also some degree of guile!!! i also love how majin kuu figured out an obvious bullshit math question and helped his simpleton little brother answer it
on that note, i fucking love majin kuu. it's honestly a bit sad but it's obvious he just wants to be a family with arinsu and majin duu! it was goddamn adorable when him and duu were fighting over a candy bar and he goes "wow!!! i always wanted to argue over snacks, just like a real family!!!" and it's like aww dude that's kinda sad but also cute as hell
baby dende remains goddamn adorable! i think it's funny that in OG dragon ball we see piccolo come straight out of the egg committing arson meanwhile dende's just like, an actual normal goddamn baby. i will say i kinda wish we got frog lookin baby piccolo? but i guess it wouldn't make much sense for him to be fighting like that from a purely aesthetic standpoint. baby piccolo was an adorable little frog creature, and honestly i'd be kinda upset if i saw that adorable little frog creature get hurt so it's probably a good call to basically just make him adult piccolo but chibi
i like pansy! she really contributed a fair bit to the early dragon ball feel a lot of daima has where goku's not the only important one. i also really loved that one scene of pansy's dad being like "hey goku! if you actually do this you can marry pansy!" and goku's like "dude i'm already married and have children", that was a very good exchange and joke
i love all the lore stuff! i know a lot of it was already written about by toriyama in like compilations of the original manga as a bonus feature but it's nice to have it addressed in a more natural way. also, i love neva as this clearly very powerful and wise person who seems to know a lot more than he lets on but keeps shit to himself as seemingly some kinda morality thing. i'm also curious about him saying he has to keep demon world namek around for when the namekians come back??? it came and went like a throwaway line but i definitely feel like that's setting up for something, y'know?
i like glorio! he's pretty cool and i like the seeming conflict between his actual purpose of getting the dragon balls to arinsu and what seems to be a genuine developing appreciation for the rest of the gang. i feel like that might lead to some conflict in a few episodes? it's all been very well handled so far and a lot of stuff is pretty effectively foreshadowed so i'm pretty sure i'm not grasping at straws here y'know
some final miscellaneous thoughts include but are not limited to: i like the dragon quest lookin lady that works for pansy's dad! i'm pretty sure she's gotten like one line so far but i like her design!! i like the lady who got the eye for goma! she seems to be like, vaguely gyaru inspired? like her eye shape reminds me a lot of how gyaru will style their eye makeup to make their eye look a similar shape. the opening is just ok, i feel like most dragon ball OPs are just alright and the first two just happened to hit it out of the park first try (makafushigi adventure and chala head chala, if that needed clarification)
do you think that old namekian from dragon ball daima can fuck or not, like is the ancient slug man dick trash
GOOD QUESTION. i personally am of the opinion, despite my deep attraction to piccolo, that namekians are smooth like barbie dolls, because they reproduce asexually and so it would make no biological sense for them to have sexual reproduction organs. HOWEVER
he does seem to have an old man charm to him . at this stage it remains unclear whether or not he fucks as it stands, however i am fairly certain a younger, more attractive neva, definitely fucked
