IV ! Mom, am I still young? Can I dream for a few months more?
✎ Synopsis ! You've been thrusted to carry the burden of the eldest after his passing. ( First | Second | Third | Fourth | Fifth )
Content & warning Jake sully x Daughter!Reader, Sully kids x Sister!Reader Neytiri x Daughter!Reader. Mentions of death and violence! (wc; 4070)
Song: Class of 2013, Mitski.
A mother’s love is of all things.
“You start from here,” Her gentle hands moved across the cloth as she showed you how to make the first stitch, her voice encouraging as she patiently talked you through every step. You listened to her instructions, your tiny fingers following every gesture, but your mind drifted off to somewhere and Neytiri was well aware of that.
"Mama, how much longer will this take?" You whined, your lips pursed in a pout as you discarded the rag. It was taking far too long for your liking and you were more than ready to be finished, but your mother's stern gaze was enough to stay put.
“Until you finally get it.” She sighed, knowing well that you wanted nothing but to run to your father and Neteyam. Neytiri could see clearly that you wanted nothing more than to train with them, learning all that Jake had to teach, and while she was relieved that you were so eager, she couldn't help but feel a little left behind.
You furrowed your brow as you looked down at the mangled fabric in front of you, feeling frustration coursing through your veins. "I don't like sewing," You sighed quietly to yourself, trying to undo the mess of stitches and start again from scratch.
A mother’s love could be quite petulant. Neytiri could feel the insecurity settling at the pits of her stomach, thinking about how his mate was doing a much better job at parenting. She was never able to keep you in one place, always wriggling uneasily on your chair and asking for the time so you can go, so she was often left with no other choice than to give into your demands and watch as you ran away from her.
It was silly, you were just a child– what child wouldn't want to be outside where the world was theirs to explore?
With another sigh, Neytiri placed a hand to your shoulder in understandment. She gave you a gentle squeeze, “You know where your father is, go on.”
A mother’s love could be fiery– burning brightly like a wildfire in her heart. It was a force that drove her to do anything she could to ensure the wellbeing of her children, even if it meant making difficult decisions that brought pain to herself.
When you once came home, battered and bruised, of course she did not relent.
“What was the only thing I asked?” She carefully tended to your wounds, despite the frustrated tears streaming down your face. With a sigh of exhaustion, she reminded you in a rough whisper, “To be careful!”
“I don’t let you run off with your father and Neteyam for you to carelessly train yourself,” She continued to scold you, “Now look at you, do you know how long these bruises will heal?” you hung your head low in shame, not wanting to meet her angry gaze. You felt guilty for making her worry and were immediately overcome with remorse.
“For this, you are not allowed to train for two weeks,” She said sternly, “Not until these heal, you understand?”
“But mama,” You tried to change her mind, but the look she gave was enough to let you know that she wasn’t going to tolerate any argument on the matter. You begrudgingly nodded your head in agreement with a frown.
“I love you, ma’ite,” When you didn’t reply, her heart sank a little. She knew you would resent her for this while the duration of your punishment stretches on, but she was only looking out for you– besides, there was no way she was going to let you train all sore. You’d understand when you’re older.
Neytiri would do anything if it means everyone would be safe.
A mother’s love is of all things, but above all, the love she had rooted from no other else but her own children.
When you once came forward with a present, she was curious. It wasn’t like you didn’t lend any gifts at all, if anything, you were the most thoughtful with giving; always coming home with trinkets from your training, colorful beads from a lazy stroll, or even rocks with the weirdest of shapes. But you were most excited with this one, a smile growing every second as you waited for Neytiri to grab the wrapped box.
“What is this?” She had her eyebrow quirked up high in curiosity, a tiny smile fighting to stay suppressed.
“Open it, come on!” You squealed, trying hard not to open it yourself.
“You made this?” She said, looking at the well-made shawl– actually, it was messy. The stitches weren’t as straight and there were holes larger than the others, a few smaller, but the ornaments sewn between the threads were no doubt from you. To her, it was the most beautiful thing ever; it was from you.
“I did!” You beamed, chest puffing out proudly, “Well.. maybe I cheated a little. Grandmother helped me, but all the beads there are from me! See those?” You excitedly gestured to each and every trinket, going with great detail into how and where you got them. She asked questions along the way, marveling at how eager you were to tell her of your adventures.
While you were keen on your work, her eyes were only on you, listening intently.
“So.. do you like it?”
Neytiri burst into a fit of giggles as she embraced you tightly, her head resting against the little space on your neck. “I love it, Ma’ite– I love you.” she whispered softly.
You returned the hug, “Does this mean I’m done with sewing?”
“Don’t push it.”
It didn’t matter whether you were with Jake most of the time– she wanted to tell him how wrong he was to tell her you were a daddy’s girl. Neytiri received a shawl from you– a shawl. It’s safe to say that maybe you loved her a bit more than Jake.
While her love was indescribable, there were no exact words for her anguish too. When Neteyam died, it was nothing but loss. No mother should have to bury their child. It weighed heavily on her– so heavy, a piece of her died along with him. Neytiri felt it in every pore of her being, a dull ache that could never be filled no matter how much time passed.
Neteyam, her first born and first loss.
The same anguish was apparent on you too and she wasn’t blind to that fact.
You were carefully tending to the different herbs on the corner of your pod. You placed them in the mortar, crushing it with a pestle between your fingers and frowning with concentration. You had asked Neytiri if you could stay behind and help with chores and while she did need an extra pair of hands, it was also an excuse to get out from training for the day.
Neytiri knelt beside you, her grip on your hand preventing you from mashing the already mashed ingredients in the bowl. She looked into your eyes with genuine concern, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head. “What’s troubling you, ma’ite?” She asked softly. You sighed heavily in response while setting the bowl down slowly.
When you didn't answer, she asked again. “Neteyam?” Your breathing hitched and that was all the answer she needed.
“It’s been over a month already,” You started, unable to look at her, “I don’t wanna mourn anymore. I don’t wanna cry– Tuk, she,”
“I know. I heard.” You were struck with a wave of embarrassment as you abruptly turn to face her, realizing now that you weren't as silent as you had wished that night. You shook your head, trying to push down the shame.
“I’m the eldest now and she’s tougher than me, it’s really a slap on the face.”
Neytiri sits in front of you, taking both your hands in her own. She looks at you steadily with a piercing and gentle gaze, “Have you ever thought that maybe the reason why it isn’t letting you rest is because you haven’t mourned him properly?” Unable to process her words, you look up to her with a confused expression, beckoning her to continue. “All you have ever done is cry– blame yourself for what has happened. That is not mourning, you are simply wallowing in self-pity.”
“It’s not easy,” You quickly interject, shaking your head with a hint of frustration.
“And it’s not supposed to, but you’re here trying to stop yourself from feeling.” She soothes the skin of your hands with gentle rubs, trying to calm you down. “Have you ever visited him after what had happened?”
She was met with only silence and again, it was all the answer she needed. With a heavy sigh, Neytiri gently pulls you closer to her, “Ma’ite, maybe it’s time you talk to him. You aren’t letting his soul rest either,” She whispers, “You’re making him wait.”
“I’m sorry.” You murmur, burying your head into your mother's arms. Despite feeling a little embarrassed by the sudden display of emotion, you can't deny the comfort it brings. Neytiri holds onto you tightly, as if she too needed this moment just as much as you did.
After a few more minutes, she nudges you softly, “I’m going to get more herbs,” With another kiss to your temple, she squeezed your shoulders and stood up.
Neytiri’s words hit you hard– she was right. You have never put an effort to visit your brother, let alone talk to him. The realization was like a punch in the gut; while you were trying so hard to put as much space between you, Neteyam remained waiting.
You had to talk to him, had to tell him everything before your heart could hold no more. It didn’t matter if he was angry anymore, nor if he would have blamed you for what had happened. You missed your brother– missed him like a little kid.
You stood up, taking your woven satchel– but before you could take another step out the door, Jake enters with a disheveled Lo’ak behind; it was clear that he got into a fight, the bruises on his face and body was enough to tell. “What was the one thing I asked?” Jake asks, scanning the area to check if anyone had followed them, “The one thing!”
“Look, dad. Ao’nung was picking on Kiri,” Lo’ak defends himself, his shoulders slumped in defeat. “They called her a freak.”
“And you! Where were you? Weren’t you supposed to be training?” His tone is harsh and demanding, cutting off any chance to interject. Jake turns to you, livid, “I catch you over here slacking off while this knucklehead is giving them a passage to kick us off the island– Jesus Christ, you’re the eldest now!”
“I’m sorry, sir, this is my fault.” You replied, unable to meet his gaze. “I should’ve been keeping an eye on everyone.
“Damn right. I catch a break for one second– one second!” He continued to berate and you could only hang your head low. “You’re supposed to be like Neteyam, but ever since we got here, all you’ve done is disappoint me. You disappoint me, __.”
“But I wasn’t just slacking, I was helping with–”
“I don’t wanna hear it.” He immediately turns back to Lo'ak. He badly wanted to come to your defense, but something about Jake's steely gaze made him think twice. His lips quiver as he struggles against the urge to speak, feeling frustrated. “Go apologize to Ao’nung.”
“It’s not fair, dad! They were–”
He quickly dismisses him like he did with you, “Go make peace. I don’t know how, just go.”
Lo’ak was the first to move, his footsteps heavy as he walked out. Before you followed, you glanced one last time at Jake, trying to look for any trace of remorse in his eyes. All you found was the same stoic expression. With a sigh, you trudged behind your brother.
Once you both were far enough from your Marui, you quickly grabbed Lo’ak’s wrist, stopping him from walking further. “Stay here,”
He gave you a perplexed look as you firmly held him, “I’m supposed to be making amends.”
“I’ll do it myself so for once, stay here and just do nothing.” Your mind was clouded, absolutely heavy from your father’s words. With another frustrated sigh, you let go of him. “What were you thinking?”
“What do you mean?” His tone was laced with a mixture of guilt and defiance, shoulders tense.
“You know damn well, Lo’ak.” The laugh that erupted from your mouth is menacing– mean. You grabbed his shoulders and spun him, forcing him to look at you. “You didn’t have to do that.”
He quickly shrugs your grasp away, his gaze downcast. Lo’ak couldn’t bear to even glance at you, not when you’re looking at him like that. It was so unlike you to be angry, usually you were the most patient– understanding. Right now, your eyes held nothing but exhaustion and it was like you were a different person yourself, morphing into someone he terribly misses.
God, he misses his brother. Now that he’s gone, things are a lot worse– he didn’t even know that it was possible to feel more alone. There was no one who’d put on an effort to cheer him up despite him royally fucking up, no one to mess with his hair, or to stand up for him. With Neteyam, he was sure he understood him so well– with Neteyam, he was still a child. Lo’ak swears he also died that night, heart buried along his back at home. His younger self has not stopped crying ever since, shouting at him, asking, “It’s our fault again, is it?”
“You would have done the same,” He tries to reply with the same fierceness, but his voice is breaking. “Maybe if you were there, you would have even thrown in a punch too–”
You spun him again irritatedly, “But I’m not like you. It’s different here, you understand?” Your voice was getting louder– growing absolutely desperate with every word. “You aren’t thinking!” That stunned the both of you and you couldn’t help but feel a nauseating deja-vu the moment it left your mouth. It was familiar, oh so familiar it hurt.
“What has gotten into you?” Before he could wait for a reply, you had already stormed off, leaving him right in the open.
It wasn’t hard to find Ao’nung, being the olo’eyktan’s son made him stand out easily. They were at the shore and unlike Lo’ak, you could see how they’ve gotten the end of the punches more badly. You tried not to visibly wince at the huge deep-purple bruise forming on his face and the others littered all over his body– yikes.
You knew he deserved this. Ao’nung wasn’t the kindest ever since you had seeked uturu so you couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Despite this, he didn’t relent.
“I’ll forgive you once you are able to ride an Ilu,” he said, and his friends snickered from behind, “But you still can’t, right? What would father do if he hears that none of the Sullys’ had gone out to apologize.”
You clench your fists, digging your nails into your palms as they continue to ridicule you; you wanted to retaliate with the same harshness Lo’ak had, but you knew you had to keep composure. Oh Great Mother, the urge was strong. “All I have to do is ride an Ilu?”
“Don’t bother,.” He scoffed, harshly jabbing his fingers into your chest, “You’re funny if you think that I’ll ever save you again– it would be one less freak from the clan.” Everyone broke out into a fit of loud laughter, taking turns in mocking you.
“Consider us forgiven then.” You said firmly, pushing past them and marching towards the sea.
He called for you to stay back, but you couldn’t just stop now– not when you have already mounted your ilu. The salty ocean air filled your lungs as you surveyed the horizon, the waves crashed on the rocks and it was evident that the water was fiercer. It should’ve been enough sign for you to pocket your pride and relent.
As you made the bond, you embraced the creature, trying to steady your breathing. “Just this once, please? Please, please. Save me from embarrassment.”
It was a foolish decision to act out of spite, especially after you had been trying for well over a month with no success. You knew there was little chance that this time would be any different, but the impulse drove you forward and you just couldn't let go. As the ilu surged ahead with reckless abandon, you held on more desperately than before.
You were struggling to keep the creature in check. The strong waves made it even more challenging to stay on top of the situation, but you pushed ahead determinedly with an iron grip that was sure to leave your hands sore. Suddenly, your hard work seemed to pay off as the ilu started slowing down under your control, enough that you could relax a little.
As you emerged from the water, you couldn’t help the shout escaping your throat as the other’s stood ready near their own ilus. Whether the smirk from Ao’nung’s face was of disbelief or if he had been genuinely impressed didn’t matter to you, all you could feel was a surge of pride burning through your skin. You flipped him off, peppering your ilu with much deserved kisses.
“Come on, let’s go further,” You talked to her, encouraging her to keep moving forward, where she replied with an eager yip.
You were absolutely thrilled– it had been a grueling month and the anticipation was nearly too much to bear. The thought of finally riding an ilu was almost too exciting for words. Although you preferred the forest, you’d be a big fat liar if you denied the beauty of Awa’atlu. You’ve been dying to explore– you felt like a kid again.
As you continued to ride forward, with not a thought in mind, you would not have expected to be found so easily.
It was almost night time and everyone was getting ready for dinner inside. Jake waited at the entrance of the Marui, sharpening his dagger as he waited for you. He glanced around impatiently as he tried to ignore the spiraling uneasiness in his stomach.
“It’s getting cold, ma Jake.” Neytiri called for him, rubbing his back soothingly. “Wait for her inside, she’s probably on her way home.” She had noticed how anxious he was growing as the sun started to set and the dark night began to creep closer. It was even more obvious when he hadn't moved from his spot in front for hours already, frown deepening.
“I failed as a father, Neytiri,” His voice emerged from his throat, strained and raw. He had done all he could, but it seemed that his luck had truly run out. Now that he faced the truth of his failures, he was filled with bitter regret and a deep sadness for what could have been– of what he had to lose. “I look at them and I feel like I’ve already lost everyone.”
Neytiri kneeled beside him, curling her arms around him in a comforting embrace. “You only did what you thought was best,” she whispered softly.
“And yet, I managed to make things worse.”
“Just talk to them, ma Jake,” She gave him a stern look, squeezing his shoulders, “It hasn’t been easy for them either.”
“I know that, but–” The crackling of the line made Jake wince, but he could make out his daughter's voice beneath the static from the other line, and the urgency in your voice made his body jolt– a familiar dread that brought him back to that fateful night when you desperately called out for Neteyam.
“Can someone hear me?”
The searing heat was unbearable, even when you were surrounded by nothing but water, it scorched your skin the same. The village was rising from the ashes of an unforgiving fire, the island surrounded by familiar ships. Your eyes mirrored the flames that engulfed the area and you were unable to look away— unable to move.
Your fingers frantically felt for the device tucked on your ear, pressing on its button, hoping someone would answer– pride be damned, you even hope that it would be your father.
He stood up, instinctively grabbing the gun from his side, “__? What’s wrong, baby girl? Talk to me.”
“Dad, Sir, a village!” Your voice nearly drowned out, inaudible from the deafening sound of waves thrashing towards you and your ilu. You were holding onto her for dear life as the salty water stung at your eyes, blurring your vision, “A village is on fire!”
“What? Where are you?”
Neytiri stood sharply beside him, her eyes wide with fear as she desperately tried to hear your voice from the intercom. “Jake, what’s happening? Where is she?”
“I don’t know– I don’t know! I rode my Ilu too far. Dad, there are ships! Sky-people ships, plenty!” You spoke rapidly, your words tumbling out of your mouth faster and faster as the panic built up inside of you. You were becoming increasingly anxious, with every passing second more fearful than the last. “They’re here sir, they found us.”
Jake’s heart plummeted there and then.
“They’re hurting them– they have them at gunpoint, what do I do?” You continued to hurriedly talk, explaining the severity of the situation. It was nauseatingly terrifying, a sickening sensation that had taken root in his stomach and clouded his mind with nothing but overwhelming fear. “I– I have to do something, anything! Please, tell me what to do.”
“Listen to me, listen to Sempu alright?” His voice is gravelly, like he hasn't been able to catch a breath in what feels like days. Jake was desperate as he wanted to tell you this wasn’t about you proving yourself anymore, acting on behalf of your brother’s loss. This was solely about him wanting his sweet daughter back, safe and sound. “Don’t look at them, for the love of– please, get out of there now.”
“But dad, I–”
“I need you back here, please baby girl, please.”
However, you and him did not stand on the same ground, hearts paced on different pages. All you saw were the people; their safety and well-being had to come first and foremost. You had to save them, had to do something to avert the danger. They were innocent and above all, helpless.
To Jake, all he could think was of you, his sweet daughter, caught in a wildfire.
“This is an order, __. Turn back now,” It was the only thing he could do, instill authority in hopes it would make you deter. “I’ll alert Tonowari of the situation. It’s not a good idea to barge into face-first and vulnerable, you hear me? What are you gonna do with all their guns and people? Turn back. Now.”
And it worked. Only now were you able to let out the breath you kept for so long, finally averting your gaze and looking down in shame. “I hear you, sir, I’m,” With one last look, you gulped. “I’m heading back.”
“Good. Don’t let them see you.”
As you reconnected with the Ilu, you pleaded it to take the lead and guide them both back home. You could feel her emotions racing through your veins, her fear undeniable as she witnessed others of her kind slaughtered mercilessly by the shoreline. The bond between you was overwhelming and unsteady, so much that it almost took all your energy just to keep yourself from dissociating from her.
Before you could submerge below the safety of the waters again, your ilu begins to bellow loudly in distress. Its body thrashes around, making it hard for you to hold on. “Mawey, mawey!”
More static could be heard from Jake’s intercom, the noise turning more and more deafening. He tried to make out anything from the sound, but all he could hear was white noise. You called out for him one last time, before the pager turned off.
“Jake, please, where’s my daughter?”
When Neytiri lost her eldest, she didn’t think she’d lose another one so soon.

concept: aonung and neteyam wearing each other’s armbands in the same (but definitely more obvious) way human soldiers wear each other’s dog tags.
imagine them being war leaders in the fight against the sky people and a hot topic for entertainment in every war camp they stay in is the ongoing betting pool on whether or not they’re together.
the armbands are only the start. they keep accidentally switching knives because of how often they hunt together. aonung suddenly has wooden beads braided into his hair. sometimes, the warpaint on neteyam’s chest will be in the distinct metkayina style and aonung will glare at any warrior that stares at it for too long.
neteyam comes out of aonung’s tent one morning and for the rest of the week every metkayina and omatikayan na’vi is asking both chief’s sons if he’s perhaps courting someone. or is he mated already? is there anything you want to announce? should we keep an eye on somebody for you, in battle?
tonowari sporting the most smug grin on his face when he goes to ask aonung why neteyam spent the night and jake laughing so hard he wakes up half the camp because it turns out neteyam just came in before dawn to discuss battle strategies and came back out to get breakfast, father, truly!
their mothers (and families) trying to speed up the process. lo’ak and tsireya conspiring to get them to confess because they’ve heard the “one-sided” pining for too long damn it.
just. the idea of the two eldest children being so clumsy when it comes to pursuing happiness that might belong to only themselves. it would be so cute.

Cupid’s got me on a chokehold.
✎ Synopsis ! You and Neteyam are obviously in-love with each other, so what exactly was holding you back?
Content & warning ¡ Aged up Neteyam! x Human!Reader. (aged him up because idk how ages work between na’vi and humans, no smut! just kissy-kissy) tooth-rotting fluff, finally. gotta keep my sweet child alive this time (wc; 4471)
You were always confined within the comfort of your lab and it amused Neteyam to no end. You were surrounded by stunning scenery that anybody would kill to get an eyeful of, yet here you are, laser-focused to whatever you were working on in front of multiple screens.
You were tasked to step into the shoes of Grace Augustine and you took the responsibility gratefully, not wanting her work to be put in vain. You admired her deeply, to the point that you’d watch her every log before you sleep— remarkable woman, she is. It was now time for you to honor her legacy with ambition of your own— a worthy successor taking the reigns and continuing in her stead, pushing her work forward with every ounce of energy you had.
Today was no different; you were cooped up in your little space, desk cluttered with papers and coffee stains evident from the multiple drinks you had. A knock interrupts your focus, taking your eyes off your journal.
"You've got some visitors," Norm abruptly announced, rolling your chair towards the door before you had a chance to reply. You gripped tightly onto the armrests of your chair as you felt yourself suddenly tipping forward, away from your workplace– curse Avatar strength. You could only shoot him a glare as you pushed your glasses upright, standing up from your seat.
“How’s my girl?” A smile immediately grows on your lips as Neteyam greets you. He had a voice like warm, rich honey; when he talked, it was difficult to hear anything else. He reserved such fondness in his tone just for you, it was hard not to swoon. You extend your hand from your forehead, greeting him their way.
“I’m pretty sure your girl has not showered since the last time we visited,” Lo’ak joked from behind, earning a snicker from Spider.
“Ha-ha,” You removed your lab coat and stretched, clothes tightening as you relieve your bones from sitting in a hunched position for who knows how long– you have got to work on your posture. You groaned in satisfaction as you heard your joints crack. “What brings everyone here?”
The Sullys' had ventured out, with the exception of Tuk who was eagerly watching out for everyone’s return, with Spider. They were tinkering with the different machines that littered the lab, teasing each other, and chatting with the other avatar drivers they were familiar with.
“Setting aside my disgustingly in-love brother and his constant requests,” Kiri gave Neteyam a knowing glance which he returned with him rolling his eyes, “We’re actually here to remind you that you need to move your legs and walk. You’re more busy these days, we’re kind of worried.”
You were closer with Kiri, though you didn’t admit it openly, you shared many of the same interests. Much to the boys’ dismay, you went out with her more, exploring the forest and experimenting all sorts of things. While you busied her with your lifestyle, she was just as ecstatic with sharing hers. You learned how to weave, discovered the many healing ways of Na’vi as well as making new ones. You and Kiri were two peas in a pod, both intelligent and cunning, with a shared passion for learning.
“Just.. working on something new,” You replied sheepishly and it made Neteyam’s eyebrow quirk up in curiosity; it was unlike you to not tell him about your works and he could tell from your tone that it was something huge. “It’s going to be worth it, I promise!”
Neteyam couldn’t help but revel in your passionate display, he swears you glow when you talk of your interest, stars twinkling in your eyes. He absolutely hated anything related to the sky-people and their affairs, but he’d listen to you talk endlessly about it, even if the words that would often reach his ears were foreign and had no clue what it meant.
He won’t admit it, but he would sometimes ask his father for English lessons; slyly asking him about words that he didn’t understand and Jake would eagerly answer nonetheless. Oh eywa, he was a huge simp. (He learned that word from Lo’ak, who knows where this man’s vocabulary is coming from.)
“You okay, ‘Teyam?” You tilted your head and looked up at him through your lashes and he could feel the heat rising to his cheeks when he realized he had been staring again– how easy you could make this mighty warrior helplessly smitten with just a glance was embarrassing. He had sharply averted his gaze, visibly gulping.
Unbeknownst to him, you weren’t oblivious to his watchful eyes. He may have thought he could take in your every move without you noticing, but you knew all too well when his gaze lingered. No matter where you roamed or how hard you tried not to look back in his direction, his eyes had a way of finding yours and planting itself there. You both were absolutely enamored with each other and it was painfully obvious.
Lo’ak was the one to break the silence, pushing you from the back, “Okay, nerd, get your mask because we’re going.”
The walk to the village was peaceful, aside from Lo’ak and his loud mouth, you were actually grateful that they forced you out the lab. Sunshine cascaded in through all the leaves and greenery, casting its pleasant warmth throughout your path. You could feel its rays radiating on your skin as it moved across the landscape– it was a beautiful day.
Neteyam kept a protective hold on your waist as you ventured through the forest. You felt his grip tightening whenever there were overgrown branches or gnarled twigs along the way– he was keen on holding down leaves for you to pass through and picking on every pretty flower to secretly tuck into your hair (He saved some for Tuk and his mother).
When you arrived, Tuk was the first to rush and greet you, running towards you at full speed and nearly tackling you to the ground. Despite her being the youngest, she was almost your height. She gave you a hug, tightly wrapping her arms around your waist in an embrace. “__!”
“Please be careful, Tuk,” Neteyam scolds from behind, holding you securely.
You returned the hug, wrapping your arms around her “How’s my favorite Sully?” You asked, leaning in to kiss her forehead as if she wasn’t literally the same size as you. Tuk giggled in reply, while the other’s expression dropped in disbelief.
“I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that,” Kiri mutters from the side.
"I got the whole day planned out!" Tuk jumps around ecstatically, her enthusiasm contagious. "We braid each other's hair, then we make necklaces! We can go for a swim in the pond that's just further into the forest, and then!" She takes a big pause for breath before continuing with her plans. "After we get back from our swim, we can play some more–”
“Hold up, Tuk, What are we supposed to do while you do your girly things?” The youngest blew raspberries, as if to tell him that no boys were included in every activity. Being the child Lo’ak is, stuck his tongue out as well.
“Well we do need extra hands on the spot right now,” Jake interjects, emerging from behind the bushes, breathing heavily like he had run back here. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, “There’s some movement down north and we’re heading to check it out. We need spotters while we scout the area.”
“Hello Mr. Sully,” You greeted him and the hard expression that had been on his face momentarily softened. He gave a single curt nod in response, but you could tell he was somewhat surprised to see you there.
“Is it serious?” Neteyam immediately asks, face contorting to complete worry. It might’ve been a bad time to bring you out here and he couldn’t help but feel nervous.
“No, no.” Jake was quick to ease his worries, shaking his head. “Hopefully not, but it’s best if we move out now.”
Neteyam quickly turns to you and your expression mirrored his concerning one. He rested his hand on your shoulders, “Wait for me here, alright?” You nodded, taking hold of his hand and gently massaging it in comforting circles. This small gesture seemed to ease the tension within him and he squeezed your hand affectionately before running off to their hut and grabbing his bow.
Jake watched as the scene unfolded before him, a feeling of familiarity washing over him. He couldn't help but grin as he said his goodbyes, catching himself in his own reminiscing– young love was just something else and he found it brewing between you and his son, just like how his and Neytiri’s grew.
Your gaze followed their retreating figures as they were swallowed up by the towering trees and cascading vines. You remain still for a few moments, worried for whatever awaits their travel, not until Tuk softly grabs onto your wrist and pulls you to follow her alongside Kiri. With a deep breath, you trailed behind, ready to spend the day with them.
The sun shone brightly as the day carried on. It was hard not to enjoy yourself, not when Tuk was radiating such energy. Even after all the hiking and climbing, her excitement remained in every activity. It was infectious, you loved this bundle of joy with all your heart. It only seemed to calm when you laid on the rocks, drying yourselves after swimming. She swears she only needs to nap, a recharge, before continuing with her plans– but as soon as her soft snores hit your ears, you knew she was done for the day.
You chuckled before shutting your eyes yourself. The sun is warm and pleasant, the breeze refreshing. It feels like an eternity since you have been able to just let go of stress and simply enjoy the present. You take in all of nature's serenity, letting it fill every inch of you with solace. You breathe in deeply as your lungs fill with crisp air and then exhale slowly, releasing any tension that has gathered up within you.
After a while, the sound of Kiri’s voice jolts you awake. “When are you telling my brother?”
Unable to process her words yet, you turn your head to her in complete confusion, “What?”
“Oh you know, you and your obvious feelings for him.” She replied casually, almost smug even. “You both are so disgustingly in love with each other, what’s with all the hold up?”
“Kiri, I’m human,” You told her, like it was all the reason she needs to hear, but her gaze is relentless– beckoning you to continue. “Not until my avatar is finished, at least. I wanna be able to hold him, to feel him without constraints. Do you know how much rash I’m getting from this stupid mask? It’s so itchy and the straps are never tight enough or loose, it’s just–” You were rambling at this point, frustrations boiling over.
You groaned, “But that’s besides the point. I wanna be able to look at him like I’m capable of taking hold of his heart myself, not like this.”
She chuckled, her eyes turning away from you and back up to the sky. “Believe me, you already have it.”
Neteyam marched back to the familiar path towards their home, shoulders heavy in disappointment. It was a false alarm and they were greeted with nothing but stray animals littered around the forest. Unfortunately for him, the day was already ending and there was no doubt that everyone would be tired already when they returned. When he arrived, Tuk was sleeping soundly, nestled in Kiri’s embrace. Her chest heaved ever steadily with each gentle breath as you brushed back the braids that covered her face, careful not to wake her.
He quickly strides over to you, gripping your shoulders in his hands and at first, you are taken aback by the sudden hold on your body. Then, as soon as you recognize who it is, a wave of relief washes over you; Neteyam was back and you were more than glad that he had returned unharmed, “‘Teyam! How did it go?”
Before he could reply, Kiri gave him a teasing look before speaking. “I’m gonna go and tuck Tuk in, she’s all yours brother.”
After a beat of silence, Neteyam was the first to speak. “Bet Tuk had tired you out,” You laughed heartily as you both stared as Kiri made her way back to their hut with Tuk, “But I need you for one more journey, you up for it?”
He had a way of looking at you, one that couldn’t be denied. His eyes pleaded– begged for you to follow, and he could see the desire in your own eyes when you stared back. What’s a few scolding from Norm when you could spend time with Neteyam? “Lead the way, mighty warrior.”
You pestered him the whole journey, asked him where he was taking you every second. Neteyam would only laugh in reply, shaking his head to tell you that you just have to see for yourself. Not long after, the tree of voices shone from a distance, and you felt your lips parted in awe.
You’ve only heard of it from Grace in her videos, so to finally witness it yourself felt absolutely unreal. You were completely staggered by its splendor, you couldn’t help but ghost your fingers over the glowing vine-like roots– it was beyond anything you had ever imagined. Pandora was quite the treasure, the lush greenery and the remarkable landscapes of this world amazed you at every turn; it always felt like a dream when you let yourself wander around.
As you walked further aimlessly, like the sight itself had lulled you to come closer, Neteyam remained unmoved. His gaze was fixated on you, intently following each step you took, as the lights shone around your body like a gentle embrace. He was surrounded by such beauty, and it seemed like the only masterpiece here was you.
When you finally turned and noticed his absence, you smiled and beckoned him to follow– Oh Eywa, save him now, he knew he was as good as dead. His heart raced in his chest and he felt like his lungs had suddenly stopped working; the plan he so carefully thought of had evaporated and his mouth had gone dry. You stood there so prettily and it made him feel small.
He slowly made his way towards you, holding onto your forearm. Only now did you notice his stiff shoulders, how cold his skin was in contrast to the warm atmosphere. You worriedly gazed upon him as you tried to decipher his expression, figuring where the underlying tension came from. You stepped back slightly, getting a good look on him.
“Why did you bring me here?”
Your voice was quiet, but it was enough to draw Neteyam’s attention. He couldn't help but take notice of every detail in your face; the lilac light bathing you in its hue as he memorized the way you looked. His gaze dropped to the floor briefly before he met your stare again, unable to look away for even a second. “I am of age already,” his voice started out small, “Mother has been asking me if I have chosen.”
You knew of their tradition, knew how life goes for everyone, but to hear it from him had caused a sting from the inside. Neteyam would need a mate– a strong Tsahik that would accompany him once he takes on the role of being the clan leader and it hurts to think that you could never fit that role. “Have you?” Your eyes widens, peering up at him. It was difficult to ignore the distinct tone of disappointment in your words, and the way it hung in the air.
“No, not yet.” He was quick to answer, wanting to ease the worried look on your face, “Not until you choose me too.”
“Oh, Neteyam,” His words came as a shock and you could hardly process them. The sound that escaped your lips could only be described as dejected, like you had instantly denied him without a second thought and you were now considering how best to reject him gently. His heart sank, trying his best not to be discouraged– not yet.
He chose you. He’s choosing you and he’s waiting. His words reverberated like an echo inside your mind and it caused you to complete dysfunction. This moment of indecision felt both exhilarating and paralyzing all at once; it was enough to make your heart pound faster in your chest as apprehension took hold of the moment. You clearly liked him too, the great mother knows how much your soul yearns for him, but this is something you shouldn’t decide on the course of your emotions. You knew very well how impossible it was.
“I don’t think you should fall in love with someone like me,” Your words were heavy, unwilling, as they escaped your lips. You wanted nothing more than to run to him, to tell him that you’ve chosen him the very moment you laid your eyes on his– but you chose to bite your tongue.
“Someone like you?” His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, unable to comprehend.
You shook your head and raked your fingers through your hair, feeling the frustration coursing through you. “Someone that’s not like you.” You rephrase, hoping that he gets the message. “You are to be olo’eyktan and I’m not even Na’vi– the people won’t approve of us.”
You didn’t miss how his eyes had turned crestfallen; you were sure you could even hear his own heart breaking. His grip loosened as he walked past you, striding through the hanging vines, “This place is for prayers to be heard.”
You trailed behind him desperately, “Neteyam, listen to me–”
He quickly cuts you off, turning sharply towards you. “And I’ve been told what to do my entire life, __. What I must do, how I should act.” Neteyam’s shoulders are slumped defeatedly as he looks at you, grabbing both your hands, caging it with his, and warming it with a soft kiss. “You’re the only thing I’m asking for and I’m begging to be answered.”
His voice is pleading and you hate to be the one to let him down. With another heavy sigh, you reluctantly drew your hands away from his, “Are you willing to wait?”
You plagued his mind. You had not visited, nor had he either. The days seemed to drag on, and still there was no word from you.
It cost him his peace of mind; Neteyam has been slacking on his duties and his own family was not blind to the fact that their usual patient eldest had become irritable, a frown gracing his face everyday as he continued with training. His mind had been troubling him and his stomach had been twisting and turning into an ever-tightening knot. He wanted to come see you, heck, he’d even take his words back if it meant everything would stay the same.
This day was no different. The training went south and all his shots were off their mark, stance completely off. His frustrations mounted when the whisperings took place and realized they’ve been talking about him, the humiliation was unbearable– he just couldn’t think straight.
“Trouble in paradise, bro?” Lo’ak had followed after his brother, who had just gotten a scolding from Jake. He had dismissed him harshly, feeling just as frustrated from how his eldest was acting these days. “How did the plan go anyway?”
“Horrible!” He immediately blurted out, followed by a loud groan. “It was stupid to catch her off guard, it was stupid to tell her by surprise.” He knew in that moment that he had erred greatly; there was no way to undo the shock and upset you must have felt that very moment. He felt a wave of guilt wash over him, regret coursing through his veins with each passing second.
Lo’ak threw his head back in surprise. He had never seen his usually composed brother like this before, the last few days consisted of nothing but pure panic and it was hard not to enjoy seeing his brother all frantic. “What were you meant to do? Say, hey __ I’m about to confess to you at the tree of voices, compose yourself alright?”
He groans for what feels like the millionth time today, “What are you doing here, Lo’ak?”
He crossed his arms with a smug expression, “‘bout to give you words of advice because unlike you, I’m a hit with the ladies.” Neteyam let out an exasperated sigh and swatted his brother’s shoulders in an attempt to silence him.
“Get lost, you’re not helping with anything.” His temper was reaching its boiling point as he desperately tried to convince Lo’ak to leave him alone, wanting nothing more than to be left to his own self-pity.
Lo'ak finally concedes, turning to make his way back on the path he came from. "She likes you too, maybe even more than you do," he says before stopping. "Believe me, the wait is worth it!" He raises his voice and then continues walking away until he is lost among the trees.
He knew something that he didn't and it makes him more and more agitated.
He ventured further into the forest, sitting down on a nearby stump and carefully tending to his arrows. He sharpened each tip with precision, eyebrows furrowed heavily in concentration. Not long after, his ears perked up at the sound of footsteps softly padding closer. As the steps grew louder, he knew someone was coming towards him. He tensed up, wanting nothing more than to send Lo’ak away again.
“What do you want this time, Lo’ak?” His tone was harsh and he didn’t even spare him a glance. Neteyam was met with a chuckle that sounded nothing like his brother’s and immediately, his heart started to race.
“Penny for your thoughts, mighty warrior?” You cringed on the inside, feeling absolutely lame.
His head snaps up, eyes widening in shock. "___?" he blurts out in disbelief.
“Surprise?”
His mind has got to be fucking with him. Neteyam immediately stands, taking a few hesitant steps towards you– or at least, what he thought was you. You were Na’vi– You no longer bore your usual appearance of green cargo pants which were always slightly too large in size and that stained shirt that had countless coffee marks splattered across it, now changed with nothing but a beaded necklace and a loincloth like theirs.
He couldn’t help but let his eyes wander— every curve and creases of your body, the stripes that adorned your blue skin, the plain between your breasts. You weren’t you but there was no doubt that it was your sweet voice that he heard; the same doe eyes that peered above him, the same gaze that held so much wonder.
You visibly gulped at his reaction as his gaze continued to travel over your avatar, the silence making you a bit uneasy. You had worked tirelessly on your creation; multiple cups of coffee had kept you up all night, and your human body had most likely shed pounds due to the lack of nutrition. After he had confessed, you knew you had to finish immediately– wanting nothing more than to feel him around you without him being so protective of your fragile body. You tilted your head to meet his intense stare, nudging him softly, “Neteyam, say something.”
This was what you’ve been working on for months, he has realized, you had successfully created your own avatar.
“__?” He called your name again, mouth agape and unsure.
“Wanted to surprise you,” Your voice trailed off, fingers softly grazing his rigid shoulders. You bit your lip anxiously, nervously awaiting his response. He stared at you intensely, and you couldn't help but feel like a tiny little speck under his gaze. “So.. what do you think?” You finally asked him after a few moments of silence had passed between the two of you.
“Think I need to..” He said, barely above a whisper as he gently tugged you close against him, unconsciously licking the bottom of his lips. “Think I need to confirm a hypothesis.” He finished, grabbing your hands to rest above his shoulders while his hands landed on the curve of your hips, rubbing circles on the skin with his thumb. Your breath caught in your throat, the tiny flutter of butterflies beginning to riot in your stomach. It was unlike him to be so bold— always hesitant to hold you in any way when you were in your human form. You looked so fragile, so little beside him.
But now he could hold you close and he was trying so hard not to close the distance, doing his best to keep his composure despite the unbearable temptation to bridge the gap between you and him. You kept him waiting for weeks, his needs were dire.
A laugh slipped from your lips and Neteyam’s ears perked up delight from the sweet sound, “Hypothesis?” You muttered incredulously. The word rolled so foreignly from his tongue, accent thick, and you didn’t believe he was capable of picking up some of the terms you used in the lab. You realized he had been listening despite his dislike towards your kind. “Where did you get that word, huh?”
He chuckled in reply, so low you could feel it vibrate from the lowest pits of your stomach. “Come on, pretty girl, just need a sample from you,” Neteyam lifted your chin, leaning in closer— “If you let me,”
You closed the gap yourself, sealing a kiss on his lips. It was soft against yours, almost like it matched the sweetness of his voice– everything about him was goddamn perfect. You felt a shiver down your spine as he kissed you back, hand snaking up to hold your nape tenderly. The world seemed to stand still around the two of you, suspended in that very moment. Eywa had answered and she makes no mistake.
You could feel his lips curving into a knowing grin as he feels you pulling away, both of you breathless and giddy. You drew away from him, trying to steady the pace of your heartbeat, “Final verdict?” You joked, smile growing.
His response was immediate, eager, as he reached out for you again. Neteyam brushed back strands of your hair while drawing you impossibly closer– his gaze remained fixed on yours and you could feel how his heart pounded against your own,
“Think I need more than just one kiss from you.”

Being Neteyam's Only Daughter...
pairing ;; dad!neteyam x daughter!reader
genre ;; headcanons
notes / explanations ;; i wrote this instead of i will soften every edge, the brainrot was too strong. SORRY . entirely unedited so i could get it off my system. not what you guys were waiting for but i hope you enjoy!
♯ After a whole tumultuous lifetime of playing guardian to his siblings that he might as well be called their third parent, getting a whisker’s away from death at his teens solely because his little brother was looking for some action, Neteyam is enervated — he cannot imagine a life with children, and doesn’t even want to. He has already raised three.
♯ He may be good with children in general but that doesn't mean he could handle raising multiple of his own. The thought alone gives him intense anxiety.
♯ A mate would be nice. Would mean privacy, and his own world free from the burden of having to look after his siblings. His own family. One thing belonging to Neteyam and Neteyam only.
♯ He does get a mate, eventually. Right after Tuktirey can be responsible for her own. It's not something his father tells him to do, Neteyam just couldn't trust Lo'ak with their youngest sister even when the boy became a man. Lo'ak was still Lo'ak.
♯ And then comes the dreaded, silent expectation his mother stares right into his soul every time she sees him and his mate together: I want grandchildren.
♯ Neteyam doesn’t. He really doesn’t. Some peace and quiet would be nice for a while, he really likes the mellowness of the present, feels so light now. He has his own life, finally. Home away from the Sullys. He doesn't have to wake himself up before his siblings. The silence and comfort of love is new and strange, but it's nice and it's his. They can pry it away from his cold, dead hands.
♯ No children.
♯ Neteyam finally has his peace.
♯ No children, mother, seriously.
♯ ...Not now, at least.
♯ And if it ever happens. Only one. That would be enough for Neteyam and his mate. The horror of having a big family enters his dreams sometimes even now, he startles awake with the sensation of Lo’ak having ditched him, none of his siblings around, and the trouble that would follow.
♯ Yeah, no. Neteyam isn’t going to spend his life running after another batch of children. No way.
♯ Only one. One is enough.
♯ Eywa, he hopes the child would be like him if it ever happens. Neteyam takes pride in his precocious childhood free of immaturity. Not that he's dying to be a father, but if he ever becomes one, he hopes the child is calm and easy to communicate with.
♯ He knows his mate wants to be a parent one day, and knows he also will be ready eventually, but having to give up how wonderful life has become... Neteyam just wants to be selfish for once.
♯ (Somehow he can't get used to the solitude of peace, but won't admit he misses the rowdiness of his siblings and how bright each and every day was with them. Neteyam doesn't realize it's loneliness.)
♯ He doesn't expect to be as excited when it happens. Neteyam knows before his mate does and it's not the usual pregnancy symptoms, but the change of scent, in the past, he had detected his own mother was with child that way, from what he knew, this was unique to him and him only, but it was conclusive and Neteyam was right every time.
♯ His stomach doesn't sink like he thought it would, and his mate gets scared with the scream that follows his dissociation.
♯ It has to be a girl. He wants it to be a little baby girl. The desire to coddle and pamper his baby the way none of the Sully siblings were overwhelms him. If it was a son, he'd love him all the same, make him feel loved and appreciated like the Sully patriarch never really did with him, it's just, the thought of another Lo'ak on his hands just worries him.
♯ Neteyam really underestimated how ready to be a father he really was. It shouldn't really be surprising to him given his big brother status, he already knows how to be a parent - but didn't know he wanted to be one, deep down, that he looks forward to the chaos his child would bring back to his life.
♯ His mother and father are nothing less than elated. It's going to be their first grandchildren, and Neteyam sees Jake Sully shed a couple tears for the first time in his life. They have a father-son hunting trip together for the offering to Eywa in the name for the safe arrival of his child, and have countless conversations about fatherhood. If it was Lo'ak, he'd be willing to learn the new knowledge, but Neteyam already knows all he should, and his father is guiltily aware of this too, his delivery is awkward, and Neteyam does his best to alleviate the talk.
♯ They don't know the gender until the day you're born.
♯ And his wishes have come true: a girl. You're healthy and fairly plump from how Neteyam kept feeding his mate throughout the pregnancy.
♯ He can't believe he has a child, and that he has his whole life together with you now. How scary it is that you have become his whole world the moment he holds you, that he is the protector of this tiny, little life. How will he be as a father? What kind of person will you become?
♯ It comes as second nature to hold you when it's fairly new to his mate, he knows how to handle you, how to calm you down, how to baby talk that it creeps his siblings out to see him openly loving that way.
♯ His father had talked about the sky person concept of monarchy in the past. He says how you're Neteyam's pretty little princess one day, and it sticks. Neteyam thinks so too, but Paskalin is what he calls you - sweet berry.
♯ Because you are very sweet, the calmest, most endearing baby he's ever known. The most adorable. He doesn't know anyone cuter than you that he catches playful aggression the whole time, wanting to bite into you and pinch you all around. Eywa help him, he hasn't felt like this in his life, ever. None of his siblings were close to being this delightful. His Paskalin is way too loveable.
♯ You don't cry at night, go to sleep easily, only fuss when you want or need something, and are full of smiles and laughter, you know how to entertain yourself. Neteyam can't believe how convenient everything is.
♯ His father says Neteyam was like this as a baby too, and you've taken after him. Usually, the first child's perfection tricks the parents into having more children, he says, and it's the easiest trap to fall into.
♯ Turns out, it's not something Neteyam is happy about. How flawlessly well-behaved you are as a baby, he means. He wished you would act out more, Neteyam would happily go along with your whims.
♯ It stems from his own childhood wounds, he wasn't allowed to be childish, so he hopes you would be. Neteyam wants to give you everything he wanted but couldn't have as a child.
♯ So he spoils you rotten. And it feels gratifying to make you happy.
♯ You and him are inseparable. Wherever he goes, you toddle behind him like a shadow.
♯ Neteyam is warned multiple times by his parents for overindulging you that you'd end up uninterested in the company of your peers, therefore experience isolation and loneliness, and end up hyper-independent because of those poor social skills, that you would end up selfish and entitled because he gave you whatever you wanted and become hyper-sensitive to criticism and in-family conflict due to not experiencing emotional toughening by interacting with friends and being too overly fond of him, your main source of affection.
♯ Some of those worries end up being realized, and some of them don't.
♯ As you grow up, Neteyam's wishes that you would want to be spoiled more get grander. His daughter is generous and loving. You aren't immature and childlike like he wants you to be. His Paskalin keeps getting sweeter as you get older and older. You don't ever ask for anything the more Neteyam wants to keep giving, always saying you had everything you could ask for in life, and if you wanted a specific something, you could get it yourself and wouldn't want to bother him with that.
♯ Neteyam really regrets praying to Eywa for an obedient child.
♯ He thinks of having more children at times, to give you companions, but gives up on it as soon as he entertains the idea. He would never want you to go through the same things as he did as the eldest brother.
♯ Neteyam doesn't know what to do about you not straying from his side and only ever wanting to be around adults. Your favorite people are your grandparents. That shouldn't really be a child's first preference, right? He knows he was like this, but also, it wasn't normal. Even your aunt Tuk was too young for you and her hyperactivity made you uncomfortable for some reason.
♯ He never knew your dislike of going out and socializing, your preference of staying on your own rather than getting close to your younger cousins.
♯ Great Mother, you weren't a shy girl that he knows of, always talkative and energetic with him. Neteyam has only noticed your quietness recently when you were old enough to go and start learning with other kids.
♯ You don't have any friends that he knows of. You orbit around people your age, but don't get involved, more interested in your hobbies and interests and duties within the village.
♯ His mother told him this would happen.
♯ Kiri tells him he has raised a girl version of himself and it bothers Neteyam. He loves that you are a daddy's girl and so close to him that you are basically transparent to him, but he really wishes you were more childish. You are too mature for his liking.
♯ When you hit your teens, he's confronted with a new dilemma. He doesn't know what a helicopter parent is, but his father says Neteyam has become one. That he doesn't allow you to face failure and challenges, and heavily guides you the more he becomes anxious about how you're turning up. He says Neteyam needs to leave you alone.
♯ Which he's too anxious to do. He doesn't know where this comes from and why he's this way. Neteyam just worries too much and doesn't want you to have the troubles he did.
♯ It becomes particularly stronger when he finds out you were having bullying problems.
♯ In the clan his father was the Olo'eyktan of. In the clan he was to be Olo'eyktan of. He can't fathom the audacity any more than he can't believe you were hiding it from him. You never hid anything from your father in your life, ever. He makes you cry for the first time when he confronts you and gets angry over it.
♯ You hadn't even done anything wrong, and Neteyam regrets it immediately, hugging you and apologizing for it on the spot.
♯ He offers to teach those kids who saw you too meek a lesson, but you tell him that they do it because they think of you unworthy to be his daughter and Toruk Makto's family. He learns they think you're weak and passive with barely any presence at all, when you were the brightest and sweetest girl Neteyam knew.
♯ Someone had taught you humiliation where he couldn't see or help. Stripped you off your worth. These kids were jealous of you. They wanted your status and it was clear as day to Neteyam, but he couldn't make you see the way he saw.
♯ It's Lo'ak who teaches you how to bite back, Kiri how to hit where it hurts with words and Tuk how to manipulate. None of them let Neteyam get involved, you have to do this on your own and prove your worth to yourself.
♯ He can't be more proud of you when you manage to stand up for yourself, and excitedly tell him about it one day along with the news that you have made a couple friends, too.
♯ The feeling of you branching on your own path stings and weighs heavy in his heart as he tastes the bittersweet of his child growing up, but his Paskalin would be alright, he decides.
♯ He will be with you every step of the way.

dating neteyam
content: neteyam x human! reader, friends to lovers, gender neutral reader
a/n: this is really long b/c i'm currently going through neteyam brainrot
you two grew up together on pandora b/c you're the daughter of one of the scientists left on the planet
at first he's pretty hesitant to be around you bc you're a human lol, but he warms up to you
gets to know you when kiri goes to the lab to visit grace
what starts as a tense, but amicable relationship turns into a real friendship as you get older
you're waiting for him when he comes back from his first strumbeest hunt
and he's by your side as you catalogue the different plants of pandora (you're something like a botanist without the degree)
neytiri def does not like that neteyam is so close with a human, but jake doesn't rlly see an issue with it outside of any practical concerns
"neteyam you can't take y/n to climb trees she is literally the same height as tuk."
being besties w/ neteyam means being around tuk all the time (she's neteyam's favorite)
tuk steals you away from neteyam when he's gotten sidetracked by lecturing lo'ak to make jewelry
"lo'ak, dad will skin you alive if you---oh shit, where'd y/n go? Tuk!"
over time you develop feelings for him, but you keep it to yourself
ofc jake notices, but he doesn't say anything ab it except giving you sly smiles whenever you and neteyam are hanging out
neteyam is dense af. doesn't realize he loves you until he sees you with a human boy in the lab
he thinks you and that human boy are a little too close. when you touch the boy's arm, neteyam can feel himself getting annoyed
at first he doesn't know why, but when he hears lo'ak snicker to himself about neteyam being "whipped," he gets it
isn't fully sure that you feel the same, so he doesn't say a word about it
lo'ak is definitely the one to tell you
"yk neteyam thinks you're in love w that mf at the lab? he keeps obsessing ab it and it's getting on my nerves. just tell him already"
as a significant other, neteyam is incredibly protective
he's grown up as the protector in his family who puts everyone else's needs before him
very cautious of taking you places bc he knows pandora isn't rlly made for humans
takes you on ikran rides, but not before he gives you instructions on how to ride one (with him, of course) safely
takes you to different parts of the forest to see the wildlife and plants. loves it when you write everything about them down in your journal (you keep records of the life on pandora)
gives you leaves and rocks he finds pretty bc they remind him of you
watches human movies with you sometimes
likes to try out the different things that they do in those movies to make you feel "more at home"
has definitely ATTEMPTED to do the big ass sign scene from "love, actually"
asks jake to help him with the english spelling
likes to make you jewelry
learns from tuk because she allegedly knows your style
his biggest red flag is that he will drop anything to do something for his family
doesn't matter if it's your birthday. if jake needs him, he will leave you right there lol
it definitely bothers you and has been the root of many arguments but he tries his best to manage both you and his family

Hello! I Just recently started developing Spider brainrot and I'm just now starting to interact with the fandom. I haven't even considered Aocorro as a thing before but can I just say that your series had me HOOKED? amazing, wonderful series, I'm loving it.
Greetings!
Sorry it's taken me forever to get back to you. But thank you so much! I'm really glad that our interaction wasn't a traumatizing one. This fandom can get a little scary sometimes.
Honestly, this pairing struck me over the head so randomly one day, and I immediately became obsessed. My poor roommates had to listen to me prattle on about my theories about Spider and Ao'nung getting together. I think they were just humoring my little delulu self.
I think their dynamic would be so perfectly slotted together. I know Ao'nung's original name was Nu'nung and Spider's was Javier, which had me thinking about Neytiri and Jake's Enemies to lovers trope, and I saw a lot of parallels. A na'vi with some serious distaste for humans or anything human related and an outcast that doesn't fit in anywhere? Um yes please.
But then I remembered the movie. After Neteyam died, I think, (at least I hope), Ao'nung won't be so prejudice against good humans and Avatars. Like his hate for the RDA will SPIKE. He lost a friend, and is overall probably traumatized from the three brothers battle, almost losing his life and his sister's will do that to anyone. But I think he'll give Spider a chance if the Sully claim him as theirs.
More so, shifting to Spider a little bit, Cameron wasn't kidding when he said Spider is the glue. The more I looked at this kid from different angles the more I fell down the rabbit hole. We don't see much of Jake's life on Earth, but we know it sucked, he was an alcoholic reject after he lost everything he had going for him, movie happens, we met Neytiri, a wonderful person and complex character who's lost a lot too but she still got something to fight for. Like Jake, we don't see too much of her life before their meeting. But together the pair make history, however it's also with Quaritch. We don't know about Quaritch and Paz, except that they loved Spider, and maybe just maybe they were trying to make a good life for their baby out there. Couldn't be much worst than the Earth Jake showed us right?
Now, we have a proper history. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, We have the Sully family (which will take on the protagonist roles from A3 and onward) and we have Spider. Their parents took shit away from each other. Spider lost his entire family, and after FoP probably a chunk of sanity after the Neurosect. He's always been the reject. And the Sully siblings lost Neteyam, their grandfather, their ancestral home, their new home, and friends, and way of life.
I say this with no hate to Jake, love this babygirl mwah, but he lied straight to his kids faces and told them Spider would be fine. He's a marine, like Ardmore, he know being a kid will not save you if your in enemy hands. Like he's right, there wasn't anything he could do once Spider got to BridgeHead. That would be a suicide mission.
Spider probably doesn't have a lot of trust in the Sully's adults after A2. Like they are on the same side, they want the same thing, but Spider knows they will not hesitant to leave him. (As seen in the comics). (I actually have a theory going that in A3 or A4 once the family start getting chased again, Spider will immediately split from the pack and look to save himself, because in his mind the Sully's will be fine. They will not help me, which will cause Jake to freak out, like where is my SON?). Spider was treated more like a kid by the recoms than the other adults. I think it was Prager or Wainfleet trying to guide/comfort him after Quaritch goes down with Cupcake. (Which I lowkey hope we see some moments of Spider with them. Him with his Auntie and Uncles). Whatever...
My point is, the series is about the kids, them growing up in a time of war, their families hating each other, but they themselves love each other. Like if Romeo and Juliet were the 'only childs' of their familes that found solace in each other as siblings.
The history of their species and families are going to be additonal pressure points in the next couple of movies.
And I don't think there'll be times that they won't blame each other.
"Oh your mother was going to kill me!"
"Your dad burnt my hometree!"
"Did you forget your dad helped him?"
"You saved a monster"
"A monster that saved my life twice, more than anyone else did!"
Moving forward, I genuinely believe these other teens ( The Metkayina, and the wind-trader teen) are going to be a source of comfort for the siblings to express their grief and raging emotions to. We know for sure that going to their parents in this situation would lead to. A bias judgement in which they try to influence their children with their own emotions. Neytiri blaming Spider and Quaritch convincing Spider that the Sullys never cared about him. I know Spider didn't have anyone outside the Sully siblings to express himself too. As a scientist myself, all the other scientist I know aren't the best with emotions, or children. Besides, Spider doesn't want to be seen in a negative light with these pent up frustrations. Again, which is why I think he is going to latch the fuck onto new friends who don't have a judgement on his family history.
So looking at everyone else's interpretations of Ao'nung I see him as a learner of sorts. He's an asshole, sure, but he's starting to recognize he doesn't know people without seeing them. He likes testing boundaries, but has always lived a such comfortable life, that meeting a stray cat like Spider makes him feel serious things that make him mature a little more. Being with Spider is going to let him push and pull boundaries to his comfort level.
Spider doesn't take shit from anyone, but doesn't let himself open up. So I think he and Ao'nung could really balance each other out with their experiences. Ao'nung makes a snide comment that's a little too out of line, Spider's stomping on his toes. Spider refusing to eat or sleep till he feels like he's properly earned his keep? (Because stray cats have to fight a spot to sleep). Ao'nung's smothering him with love or picking him up and dragging him back to dinner.
So sorry with the long winded answer, but thank you. These two have lived rent free in my head for months and its driving me a little bit mad. So I just really want the community to see what I see and make some more fanart/fiction so I can sit back and just read it myself.
What about you? Got any ideas about those two?

Neteyam prompts based off pictures
AHHH IM SO KEEN, @kqlopsia, you've infected me now and i gotta share my little brainrots 😭
He definitely talks you through it - look how soothing he looks here, telling you how well you're doing, how pretty you look all flushed and sweet for him, how you're the most perfect thing he's ever seen 😫
Super jealous but he doesn't want you to know it - whenever you're around other guys he's side-eyeing and shit, always making sure they don't get anywhere near his perfect girl. And if they do... best know that will not be trying it again anytime soon.
Most what did you just say looking guy ever. Anytime he hears the slightest whisper of anything against you he's ready to fight - teeth, knife and bow, to the death if necessary. Man always has one of his ears pricked.
This one's reserved for you and you alone, if you get upset and even a little bratty. A look of disbelief his perfect girl is speaking like this, but you know he can't stay mad for long. If he does, you usually sort it out in other ways 😏
After an argument here he is, begging for you to forgive him, on his knees if necessary. You both know that those big eyes work wonders, and he uses it to his advantage. You can't blame him.
OH GOD THE WAY HE STARES 😩 This, of course, is the look reserved for when he gives his little speeches of how beautiful and perfect you are when you feel even the slightest bit insecure, always at the ready to spit the most glorious praise ever made, saddened by the fact you can't see yourself as he does; perfect.
Absolutely first moment he laid eyes on you (pls ignore the fact he's looking at Aonung 😭). Smitten from first sight, absolutely could not get you out of his pretty little head.
Absolutely does not fit the context of this scene, but is 100% a proud boyfriend. Never one to hold you back, cheers from the sidelines but first to have your back in any situation. This is how he watches, that's my girl.
⋆⁺₊❅⋆ ⁺₊❆⋆
Okay that's all for now, hope you enjoyed!

neteyam, lo'ak x fem. na’vi! reader
ft— neteyam, lo'ak warnings— friends but crushing, sfw, tail stuff, FLUFF, light scolding a/n— i literally love neteyam + lo’ak so much :( our boys deserve so much better. major brainrot for them, this was just to fuel my needs for them/yours as well. please send in some more requests (°◡°♡) rec song: silver soul instrumental + nobody’s business synopsis— he always seems to get into fights, which means you having to patch them up + a bonus: hcs of how they give you affection, their little and subtle ways of loving you (while still crushing)
neteyam x fem. na’vi! reader
“Why do you always end up in fights neteyam, skxawng!” you scolded while spreading an ointment on his split lip, your brows furrowed in concentration before angrily pressing down on his split lip to which he scrunched up his face and hissed, “ow! ow! that hurts!” You withdraw your hands, stopping the application after he hissed, you looked up at him and gave him a sympathetic and sorry look, “sorry teyam.. i’m just..” you sigh your expression becoming glum, your head now downcast. “I’m just worried for you, you know?”, upon hearing your words his gaze softens, he feels his cheeks warming as he breaks into an ear to ear smile. “And im sick of always seeing you in my room!” you exclaim—this time looking up at him with a stern look. Neteyam rolls his eyes playfully as you start to focus on his sides. It was silent as you worked on his sides as he had been scratched several times, only the occasional hisses and children running around where you two were was heard. While you worked, he was admiring you. Watching you as you applied some ointment to his scratches then following with a leaf over it, how your brows furrowed whenever you had to wipe off the excess product around the scratches, if you did—it would sting, badly. He found it adorable how you stuck out a part of your tongue as you pressed down on the leaf on his stomach, you always did that when you were concentrating. The more he observed your face the more his cheeks began to grow warm as he continued to study your face, and so did yours. You could feel him staring at you, intensely, to the point where your knees felt like jelly and you were sure you were going to fall any second. Clearing your throat you stood up, neteyam lifted his head up as his eyes were locked on you, ‘i am done now, you may leave.” you state, walking away to place the remaining leaves and ointment away, your back faced neteyam as you waited for him to leave, but you never heard the familiar footsteps leaving. After putting everything away you turn back and expect him to be gone but to your surprise you see him there, but not where he was before—he was much closer to you now, you observed his face and his body, trying to see if there was any wounds that you had somehow missed but to no avail. You cock your head to the side, neteyam locks eye contact with you, “what are you still doing here? shoo!” you whisper-yell, waving your hand in hopes of making him leave but of course, he doesn’t. When neteyam doesn’t leave like you’d hope he would, you speak up again, “neteyam you should leave, it’s almost time for dinner..” your gave wavers to the ocean where you see the horizon, the warm, orange tinge in the sky, you look back at neteyam who’s staring right back at you. ”Neteyam? i said it’s almost time for dinner, you should go.” you inch closer to him and sigh, “i don’t want to go out, not yet anyway” neteyam mumbles before averting eye contact with you. You purse your lips raise your brow, a hopeless sigh escapes your mouth. “I will go now then, leave for dinner though.” you mutter, walking past neteyam; you were only a few steps away from him when he stopped you by holding your arm. ”Wait! don’t go, please?” he muttered, his eyes boring into yours which made your cheeks warm. “Why don’t we go out together then?” you offered, nodding our head to the outside. Neteyam shook his head before letting go of your arm, as soon as he did you wanted to grab his hand and place it on your arm again but you couldn’t. Something was stopping you. You turn around to face him fully, your gaze never wandering off of him, “why don’t you want to go out? we could do so many things..” you say, stepping closer to him. He shakes his head again, “i want to stay with you”, as soon as he spoke you eyes widen, the room was suddenly hot, was it always so hot? Before you knew it you were standing right in front of him, his tail brushing up against your leg which prompts you to look down at it before looking back up, you feel your cheeks warming but before you could say or do anything neteyam beats you to it, “I uhm, wanted to stay with you for a little longer” Your gaze softens upon hearing his words, you motion for neteyam to sit down, and he does so, with you following closely after him. You both sit in silence, you fidgeting with your fingers while neteyam looked outside, the orange and yellow rays in the sky shined on his skin. ”Neteyam?” you asked in a hushed tone, neteyam turned his head around to look at you, he hummed which made you continue your question, “...promise me something?” neteyam is quick to straighten his back and gave you a nod—”try to stay out of trouble okay? you and your brother.” His heart pounded harshly against his chest, your pleading eyes made him want to burst. He knew he couldn’t keep his promise, he really did want to promise you, but he and his brother get involved in too many fights, probably three or more times a week. Which means that he’s with you more than he should be. You too knew that he could not promise you this but still, worth a shot. “I can’t promise you that.. but i can promise i won’t get hit a lot?” he stated, smiling at you sheepishly, “...okay..” you sigh, looking out towards the horizon. A smile creeps its way onto your face—”how about we walk together, along the shore?”, he looks unsure, his gave wandering to where you looked, the shore. ”It’s beautiful outside at this time of hour,” you whispered before turning your head, looking at neteyam, “please?”, with your plead he wastes no time and nods, getting up with you following his action. You trailed behind him as you two walk to the shore, his hands finding its way to yours before intertwining with yours—you were left speechless with your heart racing. As you and neteyam stroll along the shore, you swing both of your arms while admiring the scenery. bonus !
since you two aren’t actually dating (yet) he can’t really show you affection that he really wants to give to you.
he’d start of with little things, braiding your hair whenever you were tired to do so, swimming slowly so you weren’t left alone when ao’nung and tsireya swam too fast.
helping you with whatever you need, defending you against ao’nung and his gang and maybe even getting into a fight which leads him hissing and scrunching up his face when you apply pressure to his wounds.
he remembers the little things you tell him!!
gives you little massages on your shoulders or where ever it hurts.
gifts you necklaces and anklets he made just for you <3 if you two were back at the forest he would make them out of bones, vines and bark, but at the reef he collects the prettiest shells and gives them to you OR makes a necklace out of them.
neytiri definitely catches her son making a shell necklace for you and giggles, idk why she giggles and wiggles (if u get that ref. mwa) but she does.
tells jake about what she saw and they might even tease him about it
reassures you/comforts you when he sees you’re feeling down or looking glum!!
tells you horrible jokes that never fail to make you laugh.
or does something stupid to make you laugh/tells you stories about him and his brother lo’ak, getting into fights.
if he’s feeling playful he’ll grab onto your tail (doesn’t yank it though) which you always turn around to and jump onto him OR, you chasing him which eventually turns into you running away from him
little moments like these with you makes him feel like him, like a child, not some mighty warrior or a big brother, just, neteyam.
ugh you two just date already!!
lo’ak x fem. na’vi! reader
Applying pressure to his bruise makes lo’ak hiss to which you sigh heavily at, “must you always get in trouble?” you sigh while smearing ointment on his cuts and scratches, he only rolls his eyes in response to which you shake your head at. You tend his wounds in silence with only lo’ak hissing and ‘ow’ing, and you tsking whenever he moved being heard. “He was picking on kiri, calling her a freak.. so i hit him once.” he explained, you stop what you’re doing and look up at lo’ak with a sympathetic look. “Well i guess you’re justified..” you murmur before resuming your tending, but not before giving him a look. “Okay.. maybe not one hit, or two, or three, or-” lo’ak rambled on before silencing from your words, “fnu!” and with that you continue your work in silence, just how you like it. Once you were done you sighed and got up—walking away to place your equipment away, while you were putting everything away lo’ak was examining your work, the ointment still visible on scratches, some leaves and thin bark on his cuts. He hummed while turning his arm over, “i’m feeling better already, you’re a great healer.” You smiled at his comment but don’t show it. “Thank you lo’ak..” you reply, “no problem” he smiled before getting up, you heard his movements and whipper your head around, “sit back down! you have not fully recovered yet!” you shout with a glare. Lo’ak notices how you’re eyeing him down so he reluctantly sits back down with a grumble. You turn back around once lo’ak sits back down and finish putting everything away, you stood up and walked over to lo’ak, placing your hand on his shoulder, “you’re feeling better though, right?” you sigh. “Yeah i am” he nods while giving you a big smile with you mirroring his smile as well. Patting his shoulder you speak up again “well... i’m going to go now, if you need anything just call for me.”, you take your hand off his shoulder and give him a small smile before walking out of the marui. Lo’ak watches as you leave, he watches his little sister, tuk, run up towards you and holds your hand, pulling you over to the water where his other siblings were, and after that you were out of his view. Sighing he looks down at his hands, he fiddles with his fingers and lets out a heavy sigh. I’m so bored. he though before looking out of the marui, he sees many people riding their Ilu’s and diving in the ocean. ”If you need anything just call me.” was all lo’ak could think of, he longed for you and so, he did just that, he called for you. Lo’ak walked out of the marui and scanned the area in hopes of seeing you but unfortunately, he didn’t. He spent the next few minutes walking around trying to spot you or his siblings, ignoring the looks and glares that he was getting. Just when he was about to lose hope he heard tuk yell out kiri’s name, “kiri! come back! ugh you’re too fast!”, he wasted no time and ran to the direction of where he heard his younger sibling and there you were, water glistening on your skin as the sun shined on it, the water hugging your body, you looked absolutely ethereal, mesmerizing. ”Y/n!” he shouted, waving his hand around to catch your attention, and it works. You whip your head around and see lo’ak smiling like a fool, waving his arm around. A smile makes it way to your face as you look around to get their approval to go and they all nod. Running towards lo’ak, he stood still with just a bright smile on his face. Once you reach him you’re immediately concerned, why was he out here? was he hurt, again? you looked up at him with your brows furrowed, “are you okay?” you question, touching his arm and turning it around to see if the wounds reopened and others. ”Nah i’m okay, i just wanted to... uhm, i was all alone and i need someone to talk to me” he murmured, his eyes averting from yours which was unusual. You purse your lips and turn to look at your friends, tuk was chasing kiri around while kiri just laughed. Turning back around you stare at him, he’s not sure if you’re doing this to see if he was playing a trick on you or trying to see if he was okay but all he knew was that he enjoyed it, he enjoyed your attention. ”Well i suppose i can go without them for a while, what is it that you need?”, he wastes no time and drags you somewhere else with kiri yelling out “where are you two going?!” in the background, you could only turn your head around and give her a sheepish smile. He stops in front of the marui before inserting two fingers in his mouth, a whistles came out. Suddenly his Ilu swam over and popped its head out of the water, your eyes widened as he walked closer to it, almost connecting his tendrils with his Ilu but you stopped him just in time. “Wait! don’t- you still need to rest.” Your hands rest on his arm and moves them down, “you are still recovering. Are you dumb?” you scoff, lo’ak huffs in response, “uhm- no, actually i’m not.” you roll your eyes and gesture to him to send his Ilu away and he does so. ”Well what can i do now? there’s nothing fun.” he whines, waving his hand around as you stood there, watching him be like a baby. After many minutes of him whining you grab onto his arm and drag him to somewhere else, lo’ak is stunned by your actions and stumbles. ”Wha-” “shore.” he’s cut off by your word and lets you drag him to the shore, the cold water hitting his feet which causes him to shiver ever so lightly, he would never get rid of that feeling. Once both of your feet’s are submerged in the water you begin to walk alone the shore, letting go of his arm in the process, and when you do, lo’ak almost grabs it in response but stops himself midway. He catches up to you and starts to walk beside you, trying to match your walking pattern. “Any.. stories?” you ask, your gaze never leaving the water that surrounded you, lo’ak looks up, trying to think of a story that happened to him recently and he does remember one, he always had a story. ”There is one.. about how tuk got stuck in a vine and she kept on crying and beggin-” he rambles before stopping abruptly from a slap on his arm “ak! another story, poor girl.” you mumble, this time looking at lo’ak before looking back at the sand and water. Lo’ak grumbles and ponders again, what is a good story to tell you? oh! that’s right, that one time spider stepped on kiri’s tail and how that started a whole fight. ”Okay! good story this time, so basically...” he starts, your gaze now wavered from the water to the boy beside you who went on and on about his story with you asking him questions whenever he stopped talking out of nowhere. At the end of all the walking and talking lo’ak holds onto your arm, prompting you to look down at his hands wrapped around your arm before looking back up, you quirk your brow which only makes lo’ak grin, “thanks for putting up with me.”
bonus !
oml he’s so mad that he can’t kiss you. literally.
before you two started to date he just wanted to grab ahold of your face and smooch you all over until you’re laughing and pushing his face away but he just CAN’T.
first of all, you two are just “friends” and nothing more!! what!! bs!!
but like everybody knows that you two got something going on so..
so while suppressing his urges his does little things <3
giving you gifts such as: shells, a fish that he caught, those glowing fishes (that are in his palms and are splashing around, almost dying.) and so on so on.
when he finally builds up the courage to FINALLY ask kiri or his mother neytiri on how to make a necklace they’re all teasing him. relentlessly.
“oooh is this for y/n? yea she’s not going to accept it, just kidding bro”
“oh my son is finally courting his love!” and etc.
he is SO bad at crafting, but with the help of his mother and sister (not really) it actually comes out great!!
is so happy when you accept and wear it ^^
always has an arm around you, especially around ao’nung and his friends like, SHOO.
always stays right behind or next to you when swimming
HES SO CLINGY and he has no shame, buuut with all the teasing he’s getting from his mother and sisters.. he only does it when they’re not there and are away.

Spider brainrot
I've seen this before but he did his hair in the dreads to try and mimic Jake; no one ever really taught him how to maintain or care for his hair. After getting taken, his hair is in such bad condition they shave it to his scalp.
It grows back curly and darker than he expected. It takes a while to thicken but Kiri rubs salves and oils into his hair to help. When its finally back in decent shape she and Tsireya go to town braiding an styling it.
He ends up with longer hair eventually that is in Viking braids to the back of his head, then it's a messy bunch of curls down to his shoulders.
Once he is accepted into the family, Neytiri helps him braid in family beads to remind him that he's theirs now. It's small but she needs him to know she's there.
Tuk likes to collect shells and pretty stones to make jewelry and she ends up using some to braid into his hair - her other siblings don't let her but Spider can seriously not say no to her
He and Tsireya get along a lot better than anyone expected
After getting tortured and having to deal with so much so fast, her calming presence does really well for him. Plus, he has all the blackmail she could want on Lo'ak
They also are both secret gossips and will sneak away for "lessons" where they ride her ilu and talk shit
Rotxo takes a special liking to Spider and it freaks Ao'nung and Lo'ak the fuck out
Netyam (cause he's alive here bitch) is hovering constantly trying to make sure he's not getting bullied but they just genuinely vibe together
Rotxo has a crush on Spider and Kiri. They both know about him liking the other but not themselves.
Spider is demi/bi, Kiri is demi/ace, Lo'ak is bi, Neteyam is gay, Tisreya has no damn clue, Ao'nung is bi but closeted, and Rotxo is pan.
About half the younger na'vi love Spider cause funny little monkey boy and y'know, life is already weird and the other half woul lowkey drown him if left alone
That goes for Lo'ak too but that's just cause he's a little shit
