and actually, i really hope that Nesta x Cas will be the one with broken bond (in one of next books). he don’t deserve her. no one in IC does. Nesta was miserable since the cauldron, and they just.. what? all the comments from Mor, Rhys (and i love him, but not for that), Amren, and even HER OWN MATE. she deserves better. my poor girl deserves happiness for once. and she won’t find it in the Night Court.

Feyre says that very few people like Nesta. Mor says that she's a wicked monster who would thrive in the CoN, and doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Cassian says that everyone hates her.

Meanwhile, Nesta is out here making friends like nobody's business: Gwyn, Emerie, the Valkyries, Clotho (really it feels like Nesta's befriended all the priestesses except Merrill), Bryce, Ember, Randall.

And then, of course, there's Eris, who wants to marry her after only three dances.

The IC are really the only ones who can't see how amazing Nesta is.

Another thing I’m excited about for the next book is the Valkyries defending Nesta.

The IC still treats Nesta horribly given how Amren dismisses her in HOFAS.

Nesta has done SO MUCH for them and it just feels unfair to me at this point.

I just saw a TikTok saying, “I am a Nesta hater. There’s no universe where I would have ever treated my sibling the way she did. Her behavior was selfish and self destructive. She shouldn’t be forgiven.” (Paraphrasing)

Sighhhh. There’s so much I could say about this, but I’ll keep it short.

Some argue that you need to have been in Nesta’s position before to understand her. While that can help, there are still a lot of things Nesta has done that I wouldn’t. But that doesn’t make her an evil character—or me any better than her. I feel like so many people say “I would never” and act like that makes them so much better.

Everyone processes trauma differently, and while that doesn’t excuse Nesta’s actions, it’s unfair to dismiss her perspective by immediately jumping to, “Well, if it were me—” It’s not you. Comparing her behavior to what you think you would have done shuts down any effort to understand her. You can empathize with someone without condoning their actions.

But what I really want to talk about is forgiveness because there is such a lack of it in a lot of Nesta haters.

Yes, Nesta was wrong many times, but she acknowledged her mistakes and wanted to change. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes we regret, and while we can’t change the past, we can work to be better. Nesta did—and continues to do—that every day.

People say, “Your trauma is not your fault, but how you respond to it is.” True. Nesta admitted she was wrong and worked hard to show she was changing, and is continuously working to be better. What more can she do?

"But when she told Feyre about the baby it was for all the wrong reasons." True. But growth is messy. She isn't going to be better overnight. She is going to make mistakes but it’s important that she acknowledged what she did was wrong right away. And she was so sorry for what she did.

We’ve all been a Nesta on some scale before: we’ve been hurt, acted out, and regretted it. Maybe not to family but to someone. Sometimes we do it without even realizing. Yes it’s wrong to take your pain out on others but if it’s already happened you can’t change the past. What matters from that point on is taking accountability, showing you’re sorry, working to stop from repeating the same behavior, and hoping for forgiveness.

If you think Nesta is irredeemable, maybe it’s not her that lacks humanity—it’s your ability to empathize and forgive.

In ACOTAR Feyres talks about how Nesta was doing her best, how Nesta loves more fiercely than even her. How Nesta was born and raised differently and handled everything differently Feyre herself did. How Nesta feels EVERYTHING for deeply and strongly than most people and uses walls and anger to protect herself from hurt. But people still act like Nesta is a heartless villain.

The IC's treatment of Nesta in HOFAS is why you shouldn't change for others. Nesta became everything Cassian and the IC wanted, and they still treat her like garbage.

It doesn't matter how many times she's willing to sacrifice her life, it doesn't matter how many lives she's saved, it doesn't matter how many magical weapons she Makes, it doesn't matter how many unkillable beings she kills, it doesn't matter that she sacrifices her powers to save them, it doesn't matter that she's the sole being who controls the Dread Trove, it doesn't matter that she saved all worlds. They still hate her and treat her like dirt.

It's just not worth it to change for others. Nesta could spend the rest of her existence smiling sweetly like Elain, laughing freely like Feyre, and giving her love to everyone she meets like Mor, but the IC will still hate her for how she behaved for the first two years that they knew her.

If HOFAS proved anything, it's that Nesta will never earn Cassian's love or the IC's love, so she should just stop trying. She needs to move away and be free of them.

Do you think Nesta feels save and comfortable telling Cassian about her mental health even in a healthy way? I mean just talking if she had a bad day of about the things she thinks about that may hurt her.

Cause after how Cassian invalidated her and pushed her just for being mean, if I were Nesta I wouldn't feel safe telling "my mate" about. And the funny part is that talking about this is something so basic and normal that all couples should feel safe to do.

Also friendly reminder that he said to her that everyone hates her. But then Nesta is the mean one? No sir, no.
