I'm waiting for a moment where the IC are hating on Lucien for letting Tamlin lock Feyre in a house, and Lucien politely reminds them that they locked Nesta in the House for, like, nine months. I want to see the IC try to justify their actions because they're totes better than Tamlin and are most certainly not turning into him. When they lock someone in a house, it's for that person's own good, and most certainly not to control them. Even though they just spent all of ACOSF talking about manipulating, using, and controlling Nesta.
Then I want a moment where the IC are hating on Lucien for ignoring Feyre's negative emotional state in ACOMAF, to which Lucien informs them that Nesta is in an even worse emotional state in HOFAS and all of them, including her mate, are blissfully ignorant to it. The IC can then start explaining how they are most certainly not Tamlin 2.0 because Nesta deserves her mistreatment because, you know, she just saved all worlds from the threat of the Asteri and she's lucky they didn't execute her for such a thing.
Then I need Lucien to get Nesta out of the Night Court just like Mor got Feyre out of Spring.

Just finished CC3 and got to say all of the Bryce and Azriel context really was blown out of proportion.
Because let’s be honest Bryce was more taken by Nesta than with Azriel.

If Nesta was a male we would call him Morally Grey and love him to the edge of madness, but now she is just a bitch!!! Double standards were always giving me the ick...

I just saw a TikTok saying, “I am a Nesta hater. There’s no universe where I would have ever treated my sibling the way she did. Her behavior was selfish and self destructive. She shouldn’t be forgiven.” (Paraphrasing)
Sighhhh. There’s so much I could say about this, but I’ll keep it short.
Some argue that you need to have been in Nesta’s position before to understand her. While that can help, there are still a lot of things Nesta has done that I wouldn’t. But that doesn’t make her an evil character—or me any better than her. I feel like so many people say “I would never” and act like that makes them so much better.
Everyone processes trauma differently, and while that doesn’t excuse Nesta’s actions, it’s unfair to dismiss her perspective by immediately jumping to, “Well, if it were me—” It’s not you. Comparing her behavior to what you think you would have done shuts down any effort to understand her. You can empathize with someone without condoning their actions.
But what I really want to talk about is forgiveness because there is such a lack of it in a lot of Nesta haters.
Yes, Nesta was wrong many times, but she acknowledged her mistakes and wanted to change. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes we regret, and while we can’t change the past, we can work to be better. Nesta did—and continues to do—that every day.
People say, “Your trauma is not your fault, but how you respond to it is.” True. Nesta admitted she was wrong and worked hard to show she was changing, and is continuously working to be better. What more can she do?
"But when she told Feyre about the baby it was for all the wrong reasons." True. But growth is messy. She isn't going to be better overnight. She is going to make mistakes but it’s important that she acknowledged what she did was wrong right away. And she was so sorry for what she did.
We’ve all been a Nesta on some scale before: we’ve been hurt, acted out, and regretted it. Maybe not to family but to someone. Sometimes we do it without even realizing. Yes it’s wrong to take your pain out on others but if it’s already happened you can’t change the past. What matters from that point on is taking accountability, showing you’re sorry, working to stop from repeating the same behavior, and hoping for forgiveness.
If you think Nesta is irredeemable, maybe it’s not her that lacks humanity—it’s your ability to empathize and forgive.

In ACOTAR Feyres talks about how Nesta was doing her best, how Nesta loves more fiercely than even her. How Nesta was born and raised differently and handled everything differently Feyre herself did. How Nesta feels EVERYTHING for deeply and strongly than most people and uses walls and anger to protect herself from hurt. But people still act like Nesta is a heartless villain.

Nesta: My world has been ripped away and burned down around me one too many times. I don’t even have control over my own autonomy. The only thing I can control is what I make. *proceeds to forge the most powerful items in ACOTAR history*
Rhysand/Feyre/Inner court: Great, so we (Rhysand mainly) won’t allow you to use these weapons or allow anyone to have them. Because you don’t want to upset Feyre.
Nesta: *raises eyebrow*
Rhysand: Uh… you wouldn’t want to upset Elain?
Nesta: …bitch don’t tell me what to do *proceeds to gives them to those who need them most*

ACOTAR the series is so funny to me because you have the first like 3-4 books where Feyre is just this complete badass. But then you have book 5 from her Big sister’s perspective, and suddenly Feyre is a little annoying. And as the youngest sister… that relationship perspective is so accurate.

it’s too bad Nesta drank wine in taverns every night because she wanted to and not because she was force fed wine by her mate to make her memories hazy so he could do horrifying things to her in public because that would’ve been totally ok
Hi Anon!I can’t stand the double standards in the fandom. Nesta was looked down upon for getting drunk but Rhysand is excused for forcing feyre to get so drunk she blacks out, pukes and is embarrassed.
Yes Nesta needed help but not at all in the way it was done. “Well it worked out so it’s ok” yeah it worked out because it’s a book. Just like Tamlin locking feyre up did actually end up protecting her from the attors that were hunting her when all was said and done but does that make him locking her up right?!? No of course not. Does that mean it was the right way to protect her? No it doesn’t.
Nesta is no way perfect she has her faults too but the way most of the inner circle treated her in Acosf enrages me.

It's so funny to me that Feyre tells Amren that very few people like Nesta, when, canonically, Nesta has always had way more friends than Feyre. Feyre's really only friends with the IC, and Nesta's really only not friends with the IC. Nesta's literally friends with everyone else, including a whole other world.

Another thing I’m excited about for the next book is the Valkyries defending Nesta.
The IC still treats Nesta horribly given how Amren dismisses her in HOFAS.
Nesta has done SO MUCH for them and it just feels unfair to me at this point.
Badass female squad who speak up for injustice?
Yes.

i don’t necessarily think nesta’s style is dark or “evil” but i feel like it’s definitely in the realm of anything but modest lol. like i feel like she enjoys more alluring/sensual dresses
