Fiyero's not salty at Elphaba per se, but damn, sometimes when you read something that quirks your eyebrow, you gotta take a step back and reconsider.

Elphaba didn't exactly have time to do that so can we really blame her?

We can, however, blame the absolute masochist that wrote the Grimmerie.

Even if Dorothy, the public, or even Elphie don’t see it, I hope Jon M. Chu and Ari use flashbacks and whatnot to show Glinda truly fly off the handle when Morrible kills Nessa.

By that point, she’s been using her political shrewdness to survive in this cage the Wizard and Morrible have devised—at the very least complicit if not overtly active in the propaganda scheme to hunt Elphie—for years. (I have a feeling this will get toned down to highlight her manipulative abilities & maybe even be her trying to convince herself “I’m protecting the animals & Elphie as well as I can from the inside,” in light of how the film portrayed their relationship. But we’ll see.) Fiyero would have left her—had the courage to chase the woman they both love, and paid for it—already. It’s the most devastating situation for Elphaba and Nessa, then another flavor of horrifying in Glinda’s position.

Ari has already shown her commitment to playing up the cracks in Glinda’s facade, and it’s clear she’s with Cynthia in terms of their queerness. We saw it throughout Pt. 1, and in “Defying Gravity,” both their hearts break on screen. On Glinda’s end, seeing her face when Morrible “hugs” her after telling all Oz to murder the girl she’s in love with…

They changed each other “For Good.” In the books, Glinda eventually does depose Morrible and the Wizard. And I want to see her, realizing this irreversible violence they’ve inflicted, snap on the inside.
