Severed Destiny pt. 14
Author's Note: TW Sadara still isn't feeling great about staying alive.
-------------------------------------------
*Sadara*
Go back to Mausur, the voice had said. And she did. Even more than before did she feel hollow, and there was the feeling that her mind had cooked this up in desperation. That while she felt pushed to desperate action something within her was forcing her to stay "alive," to keep going.
It's not that I want to die...it's that I want life as I know it to end. I don't want to suffer this any longer.
She felt so foolish coming back to Mausur, closing that door behind her and drifting away from it.
You are no fool. The tone was softer now than it had been before, less urgent.
"Who are you?" she finally asked, on drifting to the furthest point back, the coldest corner most iced over, that she had taken for a place of isolation. "You say you aren't just a figment of my imagination...but I can't see you, and that...narrows the list. Are you one of the Nine? A daedric prince, maybe?"
No...no, if I were any of them, we'd both be worse off.
"Then who are you?"
One who would share your fate.
There was a sudden slight warmth before her, a shimmer in the air - and then faint, but growing stronger every moment, the outline of a mer began to appear. It took a minute or two for her to recognize him, so wildly different was he from the images he'd been portrayed in. It was only his hair that finally tipped it for her.
"Nerevar?"
Despite his ghostly form he was bigger and broader than she thought he might be, a great bear of a man that looked more Nord than elf. Every bit a warrior, though, every bit one who fought for what he had won.
You seem surprised.
"I thought you would be enjoying your afterlife in Azura's realm," Sadara said quietly, "Clearly you don't come to hurt me, but if you're here, then that means..."
Azura and I have...parted ways.
"Why? You were always one of her most loyal servants...at least, from what I heard from V--"
Voryn, Nerevar finished for her, And yes...I was. But...this has been a long time coming. I saw her talk up each new incarnate, saying - this was the one, this was the one that would do it! And then YOU came, and...and she put so much work into you. You were a mark of pride for her, so much so that she even gave you her face.
"She--what? Her face?"
What greater way to show her power than to send her face among those whose worship she wants back? Nerevar paused. You were to be her crowning achievement, her victory over Dagoth Ur and the Tribunal...and then you turned against her will. She has never recovered from it, and her anger grows every year.
Sadara was reeling, but it felt so good to speak to someone, despite all of this information - so good to hear even a kind tone. She felt stilted, unsteady, and hardly knew what to say.
Especially since your daughter has done the same.
"What?" Sadara looked back, desperate, and reached up to Nerevar's spectral shoulders, "Is she well? I beg of you, please - tell me!"
(She could not grasp him, not really, but there was a tingle in her own ghostly hands that was almost too much to bear. To touch someone, finally...after all this time!)
She is well. From what I have seen, Vivec means to make up for his mistake...and he was true, at least in this matter. Azura attacked your daughter's mind as I tried to question Vivec, and he did - something, I hardly know what - to subdue her. Your daughter is well, you need not worry about that. Your little Haj-deek is well.
"Haj...deek." Sadara sank against him as best she could, and would have wept had she been able to, when those great arms encircled her. "My daughter's name is Haj-deek."
It was the first piece of good news she had had in years. Her precious daughter was alive, alive and well. Voryn's child, the babe she had barely held...now nearly a woman. For a moment she dared to allow herself to hope, and try as she might she could not strike it down.
(Voryn was an ache still, a permanent one, however lesser a pain he was at the moment. The fire had burned low, and now he was embers and ash in her heart. The blaze was gone, but the sensitive echo around it remained, bringing agony only when touched.)
A pause. Then a shaky question.
"Why--have you come to me?"
You need me more...and if I am to walk Nirn again I must attach myself to an incarnate. I had thought to choose Haj-deek, but--
"Attach yourself to me all you like. Even if it causes my end I would give anything for company again." Sadara interrupted him quickly.
Something about Nerevar seemed more solid, less ethereal. His arms still stayed around her, and her words though spoken low, he could not fail to hear from their desperate, desolate tone.
"...Don't leave me. Tell me what you know, and please...please...stay with me. I couldn't bear to be alone again."
For the first time in years there was a ray of light in her world of blight winds and darkness.
Nerevar was silent for a long, long while. And then, finally, he spoke.
"Nor could I."
-----------------------------------------
*Haj-deek*
Haj-deek went in thinking that it would be difficult to get out of this situation again, but figured there would be a chance at some point soon to slip back out of the city, at least in the way she'd slipped in.
But there wasn't.
Almalexia asked after her talents and on seeing she had an interest in healing, decided to give her the duty of healing the ill and injured. She was to be followed by an ordinator at all times, the better to prevent the Dark Brotherhood from making another attempt on her life.
"I have much to do here, much to plan for. Things far above your head, my child. Go in my name and do the good that I am known for."
That was how it started. She had gone out wearing the boiled netch leather helm, but on her second time out Almlaexia had all but ordered her to wear an Indoril helmet instead. "If you insist on hiding your face, show to the public the one they know you for already."
The Indoril helmet didn't feel right. It sat well, but something about it--she wrote it off as not enjoying the feel of metal against her skin. The netch leather helmet was, well, leathery, and she didn't mind it much.
"And when asked of your return--for you will be asked," Almalexia went on, "You will say that you have come to take the place that has been made for you. That you do not think to be called Saint Nerevar yet, but that you hope to one day fill his shoes."
"Of course. V--Lord Vivec seemed to want the same thing, and everyone in his city believed it too. At least...that I knew of."
"There are always those who doubt, and it is those people whom you must be wary of. We would not wish you led astray when you have only just found your place, now would we?"
Haj-deek watched Almalexia's face, tried to look for a hint at anything, any clue - and though she could definitely see satisfaction in the goddess's expression, there wasn't a trace of anything more.
She still felt unsteady, as if there were a fire spell about to go off at her feet. But as long as her face stayed covered...perhaps...she wouldn't have to worry.
Maybe, too, she would be lucky enough to escape this unscathed.
The goddess was domineering, perhaps, but she'd been used to having her orders followed...it was sort of in her nature at this point.
Maybe this didn't have to end badly. So long as she could get out at some point.
Surely Almalexia didn't expect her to stay in Mournhold forever?

Anyone care about Morrowind still?
if there's anyone who cares about some... killing a crazy ex wife content ;), read up! Description:
In the shadow of gods and betrayal, Ralaas, the reluctant Nerevarine, carries the weight of two lives - his own and that of the warrior-king whose soul whispers within him. Faced with the vengeful and broken Almalexia, he must confront the echoes of love, hatred, and sacrifice that bind them all in a web of ancient tragedy.
Blades clash in the heart of a dying city as Nerevar’s spirit pleads for a peace that seems forever out of reach. Amid rage and sorrow, a divine bond shatters, leaving behind only echoes of what once was - a love consumed by ambition and a warrior haunted by memory.
Or, the Nerevarine kills his mentor's ex-wife.

Some of these may be background ships, others may be canon by word of god.
Propaganda
Nerevar/Almalexia: They loved each other. But it didn’t save them. Or save him. It’s deliberately unclear whether she betrayed him or not, but thousands of years and two different varieties of godhood later, they still love each other, and still betray each other.
The Drs Possible: They are a fantastic example of a good marriage, they're differences complement each other. and they share a sense of humor plus they make time to put the family as a priority even when both are accomplished professionals.

Hey!
I hope you are feeling good.
I read a lot of your works, and i love them, THEY ARE FABULOUS!!!
I hope to not bother or annoy you by making my request (in case forgive me, it wasn't my intention).
Could you write Reader x Elves? about how the elves would react to their s / o that due to this tremendous heat, they continue to feel bad/ill (literally these temperatures leading me to exhaustion ).
Thank you for everything, and i wish to you a nice day .
(Forgive me for my poor English, it isn't my first language).
Sotha Sil immediately takes notice of the fact they are visibly dizzy. Has water fetched for them as he goes to tweak his creation so it's just abit cooler. "I'll alter today's weather, you seem ill." He hides his concerned gaze
Vivec probably also hates the days where the warm heat in Vvardenfell turns too hot for even his tastes. Sometimes it's bearable, other times its not. Notices their disorientation and has someone get them water and shade quickly. He's seen people pass out before...it's...frightening. "a little steamy today wouldn't you say?"
Almalexia is usually in the shade but when she's out in the sun she'll sometimes fan herself or her partner when they both feel hot. Also water. Drink water. No they don't get a choice. "Drink. Don't give me that look."
Voryn Dagoth grew used to the heat. But is really in tune with catching those who aren't. If they are teetering on the edge of passing out he will convince them to lie down and have a glass of water at their bedside.
Mannimarco can't feel the heat and it takes him a surprising amount of time to catch on that they don't feel good. Even if he doesn't really get hot himself all that much. He'll gladly feign relief to go indoors if it makes them feel better. "Hmph."
Neloth finds that the tower is usually cooler due to the walls taking in water from the ground but he immediately feels the change when he steps out in the sun. Complains till both he and his partner can get indoors. Sadly they're both terrible at dealing with it. "By malacath it's HOT."
Divayth Fyr isn't usually bothered by the heat himself because he's had SO long to get used to it. But he's smart enough to know they aren't. So he makes sure they drink water and nudges them to sit down when they don't feel well. "Sit down. Oh please they don't care what you do."
Ondolemar hates being in Markarth in the summer but being in the keep usually helps him..they don't have that luck unfortunately. So when they arrive back eyes fluttering and skin red he's immediately tense and ready to catch them when they fall. Barks at the poor chef to get them water. "Go, you imbecile, water!"
Indoril Nerevar is usually used to it but when it gets real bad even he's somewhat light headed. He gets them water himself and will even idly wave a fan at them to help them cool off. He can't change the weather but he can most certainly try to help.
Vanus Galerion is leaning on them also. They both can't stand the hot temperature with no breeze. when they both get to shade and water he drops to his knees in relief. "By the GODS." Has them drink and lie on their back till they feel better.
Teldryn Sero feels for them. Truly. He had years to get used to it especially when wearing so much armor. Tosses his canteen to them and subtlety pushes them into places where it's gonna be cooler. What do you mean? He's not worried.

8/10 for voryn/almalexia?
So, I ended up outsourcing this one by apparently mentioning it off-hand to the exact right person at the exact right time. @yesjejunus , a far more skilled denizen of the First Council Fandom than I, cracked his knuckles and got to work, so many thanks to him for providing us with such tasty food. (He gave me permission to share by way of answering this ask).
Thank you, anon!
---
Almalexia x Voryn "A kiss in secret." (648 words) by @yesjejunus
Sunshine kissed the hem of Dagoth Voryn’s robes as he stood tucked away in the alcove of the courtyard, just beyond the sight of Lord Nerevar and Alandro Sul. He watched as they danced, swords in hand, jeering at each other in good nature as they sparred. They flowed around each other as gracefully as oil and water, blades coming wickedly close to crossing tender golden flesh, but never quite joining. Voryn’s red lips wore a smile so small and compact that it could have been mistaken for a grimace. Nerevar couldn’t see him from this angle.
He can never see him.
The fine hairs on the back of Voryn’s neck bristled and he sensed a presence behind him. Impossible, as the carved stone would surely have given away anyone who dared to approach. He turned and met Indoril Ayem eye to eye; her toes dangled inches above the ground, and she was staring knowingly at him. Voryn turned back to the courtyard with a snort.
“You could go out there and spar with them, you know. Instead of standing here, doing your best impression of a statue,” she said, coming to float beside him. Voryn ignored her—he’d long learned that the only way to win her power games was not to play them at all. He kept his crimson eyes trained on Nerevar as he dodged yet another of Alandro Sul’s attacks, his sweat slicked skin shimmering in the sunlight. Ayem floated closer to him, so close that Voryn was forced to acknowledge her, and he glanced down. She was dressed as she usually was, her breasts concealed with little more than gauzy strips of green fabric that fluttered in the breeze as she continued to levitate beside him. He flicked his eyes back up to hers and made a show of turning away.
“I’ve no mind for games today,” he said dismissively as he waved his long fingers in her face. He only narrowly avoided catching her cheekbone with the tip of one his lacquered nails. He was halfway through the turn when Ayem seized that hand and slammed it against the wall before blocking him in and trapping the rest of his body between her own and the cool stones.
She was smaller than him, and though she was one of the most capable warriors in all of Resdaynian history, Voryn could have easily pushed her away. He did not. Instead, he let his mouth curve into a true smile as he stared back at her blazing golden eyes, satisfied that she’d taken the bait. Though her eyes remained fiery, she smiled back at him, and they were fully enmeshed in the game, in the strange dance they’d been locked in for decades now. Just beyond the periphery of what Lord Nerevar could see.
Ayem’s lips were close to Voryn’s, mere centimeters away. Waiting. Challenging. Theirs had been a war of attrition, continually pushing and pulling to see who would submit first. Neither could say which of them was the first to begin this strange tryst all those years ago, but neither side showed any sign of ceding victory.
Voryn leaned forward, his red lips achingly close to hers, so much so that he could feel
her breath on them, and he paused, listening intently. From the courtyard came the sounds of Nerevar breathing heavily, grunting with each heavily planted footstep as he continued dueling. His senses were so electrified that he could hear Nerevar’s sidesteps in the grass with each parry. Each thrust.
Ayem’s mouth crushed down on his as her hands fisted in his hair, dragging him closer, and Voryn returned the kiss with fervor, savoring the lips that had known Nerevar’s countless times, had surely explored every inch of his radiant body, each curve of muscle, every tattoo, every scar. He could practically taste him on her.
Today, he had won.

I'm not actively looking for canonmates. But...I do hope that my Vivec is okay out there. I did what I could to protect him from Almalexia's...everything, while I could. I did my best to create somewhere safe for him within my home. And I know Nerevar...oh, he loved Vivec. And he never would have let Almalexia hurt him if he knew what she did.
Vivec, if you're out there...we both miss you, Nerevar and I. I know I never told you this before it was too late, but i loved you just as I loved sweet Nerevar. You were his darling Songbird, and my dear treasure. Maybe one day we'll find each other again, but whether we do or not inwish you all the best.
With much love,
Voryn Dagoth #🌙💛🔥
(I think that was my sign off. I sent an ask last night and it was either that or #💛🌙🔥 and I didn't make a note of it for myself. Oops)

Should i start writing elder scrolls stuff? Like x readers, sfw/nsfw alphabets etc?
The characters i'd do are:
Kaidan, Dagoth ur, Voryn Dagoth, Sotha sil, Almalexia, Vivec, Indoril Nerevar, maybe some others if they're suggested?
And i'd be open to write just about anything (as long as it doesn't cross a boundary of mine) and i do take requests

unfortunately i am drawing a total blank on specific posts ahah, it really is just something that floats around with consensus with no solid origin. and TBH i think i prefer it that way-- i love that everyone has different versions of what goes on!! that's why i would strongly recommend asking people about their thoughts or sources for their headcanons. everyone will have their own influences and their favourite fics and whatnot, it's a great way to discover troves of content
the only other advice i can think of is to read tesblr fanfic, bc a lot of people incorporate general fanon/their own specific ideas into fanfic. my fanfic blog has been going for seven years now so you can find god-knows-what in there fanon-wise, here's my tags for almalexia and sotha sil. here's kayd's writing blog, kendra's and sasha's (though kendra is primarily oc/daedra and sasha is primarily dwemer). here's the recommendations tag for my own writing blog again bc i'm sure i'm forgetting people. and i'm sure lots of people will have lots more recommendations
anyways yea, just ask people about the lore :) if there's one thing i know about people who like TES it's that they LOVE explaining lore/headcanons to people, so never be afraid to shoot someone an ask going "where did you get x/y/z about sotha sil/almalexia/nerevar/this character mentioned once in a lorebook", it's always a good time
a question to those who care: other than the 36 lessons what are some things to read to learn more about the tribunal and the first council? especially about almalexia and sotha sil since i already know vivec is the most promiment character in both the sermons and in the game. the way i see other people talk about them it seems like there's a whole bunch of in depth lore on ayem seht nerevar and dagoth that i just havent seen and id love to read it wherever it is
although id really prefer non-eso sources....nothing wrong with eso i just am more interested in the lore that was written by the people who wrote morrowid
