Yep, this goes for exercising too. I was small as a kid, and not very good at sports. However, being past puberty, and learning a bit more about how to train, I found that I was actually alright at some things. Definitely worth giving things a go again.

Adulting advice: if you think you can’t do a thing because you tried it as a child or teenager and you sucked really badly: try it again.

You may not notice it, but as an adult you continue gaining motor skills, insight, problem solving skills and above all patience and resilience in the face of failure. Also puberty can be a nightmare. For some of us it’s just harder to do things when we’re full of insecurities, low impulse control and focus, heightened emotions, etc. A thing that was hard for 15 year old you might not be hard for 25 or 35 or 45 years old you.

I thought I was the absolute worst at sowing because I tried to learn it in my teenage years and failed spectacularly at the most basic tasks. Turns out I just didn’t have the patience and focus for it yet. I tried it again recently and it didn’t take long at all to learn how to make my own clothes. (And oh my, being able to make any outfit I want in any fabric is a queer superpower.)

It really sucks that we’re told quite early in life what our talents are and we end up assuming that there are some things we’re just not good at, when the truth is that learning as an adult is just completely different from learning as a child.

Hey everyone ! It's that time of the year again : Inktober ! One handmade drawing a day for the whole month of october ! It may be a bit longer depending on how much work I have to do, but I'll give my best to make all 31 drawings ! Usually, I take a pre-existing list of themes to inspire me, but this year, I'll use this opportunity as an excuse to draw things related to my secret comic book project. Nerdy Child Stars Who Grew Up Too Fast

Child actors and actresses have been lighting up the screens and stealing our hearts for decades. From the forever-popular Shirley Temple to Daniel Radcliffe, who will forever be known as Harry Potter, to his sidekick Emma Watson also known as Hermione Granger. Sometimes the audience gets to watch these children grow up, such as the children in the Harry Potter series. However, there are some cases where a child star is young and adorable one moment and the next they’re grown into mature adults! Some of these stars include Dakota Fanning, Madison Pettis,Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

1. Alexa Vega. Remember the young girl who kicked butt playing Carmen in the Spy Kids series? She has totally matured into a young woman. She’s married and is expecting a child. She continued her acting career after the initial success of Spy Kids, starring in films such as From Prada to Nada and television series Ruby & the Rockits.

2. Jake Lloyd. He was chosen by George Lucas to play Anakin Skywalker or the future Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode 1—The Phantom Menace. He had previously started in Jingle All The Way and Apollo 11 but had to retire in 2001 due to bullying and the hectic schedule. Sadly, Lloyd was diagnosed with schizophrenia and has since been transferred to a psychiatric facility.

3. Mara Wilson. After starring in memorable films such as Natalie in Mrs. Doubtfire, Susan in Miracle on 34th Street and the title name in Matilda, Mara stepped back from her life as an actress in order to pursue writing and professional speaking. She still appears in internet videos and podcasts and has written two novels.

4. Madison Pettis. This curly haired cutie got her start on Barney. She’s mostly know for her roles in Disney’s Cory in The House and in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s The Game Plan. She can be seen most recently on The Lab Rats as Janelle or in The Fosters as Daria. She appeared in the popular quiz show, Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?

5. Abigail Breslin Remember the cute little girl who played Olive in Little Miss Sunshine? She had her debut role in Signs as Bo Hess. Since then, she has gone on to star in several films including My Sister’s Keeper, Zombieland and Nim’s Island.

6. Alyson Stoner This spunky dancer had her first movie debut in Cheaper By The Dozen as Sarah Baker. Previously, she appeared in several music videos as a dancer. Some of her most notable music video credits include Missy Elliot’s Work It, Gossip Folks, and I’m Really Hot as well as Eminem’s ‘Just Lose It’. She starred in the popular dance movie Step Up. Talk about busy!

7. Kylie Jenner Though she’s not exactly an actress or a singer, she was definitely a child star. Theentire world watched her grow up on Keeping  up with the Kardashians. Kylie Jenner has probably gone through one of the biggest transformations over the years. She went from stealing her mother’s clothes and makeup to being a full fledged fashion designer and model.

8. Ariel Winter At eleven years old, Ariel had already had already accumulated a number of TV, film, and voice acting roles. But it wasn’t until she played Alex Dunphy in Modern Family that her career took off. Going from a scrawny little nerd with glasses to a beautiful woman, Winter has grown up before our eyes.

9. Demi Lovato Like Selena, Demi also got her start on Barney before going on to star in Disney Channel Movie Camp Rock where she had her big break. She then went on to star in Sonny with a Chance. Selena admitted to struggling with mental health issue and an eating disorder. She’s been using her star power to mentor teens and young adults while maintaining a successful music career.

10. Selena Gomez She got her start as a character on Barney and Friends before going on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. She was just 13 years old when she auditioned for the role of Alex. Since those early Disney days, Selena has built herself an empire working as an actress, singer, executive producer, fashion designer, and philanthropist.
