How did you decide what kind of history you wanted to focus on? I have no idea how I’d actually figure it out

Hi there @scientistpuppy :) Honestly? It the stuff that makes me the most happy. The subjects that I love to write about or read about. Because that makes focusing on it so much better. Since I love it, it’s not a chore to write another paper or read another article on it. I love it. I want to learn more. I learned a lot about a lot of different time periods and people and events and the ones that I always got into the most are the subjects I decided to focus on. WWII women’s history, the American Revolution, Scotland’s Risings, etc. (basically the period between 1600 to 1800 with the exception of wwii women’s history). Some subjects were just more interesting to me. So my advice for you is to learn. Read about a lot of different subjects and find the ones that make you want to learn more about it, that make your heart flutter in excitement. The more subjects you study the more you’ll be able to determine your favorites.
