I just watched the twitchcon Imp & Skizz podcast episode

And when I tell you that I could not stop smiling and stimming the entire time I am not exaggerating

Hearing all of their voices in the same room- hell, hearing them all just talk to one another- is one of my favourite things. I must have watched all other panel vlogs several times each, and some of my favourite VODs from livestreams have them just interacting as friends. It’s comforting and my safe space and I will never be able to fully explain the amount of times their voices have saved me from being overwhelmed by stress

I doubt any of them will see this, but the hermits have my utmost respect and thanks, for all they have done for me, though I probably won’t get to see them in person to be able to say this to their faces

When Telemachus was going on about “if I fight this monster is it you I’ll find?” I had a realisation on my… fifteenth re-listen. He kept being So shocked that he survived the fight, to the point of commenting to Athena that he “got in a fight and <he> didn’t die, <he’s> never felt strong before”.

In fighting Antinuous(?), he found Athena, who came to him because idk guilt? Family friend?

What if he fought the monster and found Odysseus in a different way than he expected to (in death)? What if after that point, the touch of Athena meant he looked more like Ody when he looked in the mirror?

Adding onto that: Tele fighting Ant-boy was the catalyst for Ody coming home due to Athena being reminded to check on him-

It made him shine with pride, for all the work he’d done to earn that shiny black card, and palpable satisfaction for the small opportunity to share his wealth. Azirphale wanted to kiss it off him, and had to concentrate to bury his sigh deep where neither of them would hear it. “I have one stipulation,” Crowley announced once the ties were officially theirs. “Oh good, a condition for the gift I don’t want.” Crowley continued as if he hadn’t heard, “You have to wear it now. Don’t make me carry it around all day.”

I must have read this book at least twenty times.

And yet I still cried, I still laughed, I still smiled, I still had to put it down because the emotions that welled up from even just small quotes were borderline overwhelming

I know exactly what happens, that it will be okay, that Linus (the main character) gets his spark and his chance for a changed life, the chance to change many lives, and that he takes it

And I adore this book more than I know how to put into words.

Apparently there's some bitch on tiktok that complained about the lack of women GM's within the ttrpg space, before taking a moment to jump down Aabria Iyengar's throat to complain about how the things she says, "leave a bad taste in her mouth." They then proceeded to go on and on about how much they like Brennan and how he would never do/say those things (news flash: he does. Frequently) and I'm just like, what the fuck do you want then.

And like, we all know why they have so much smoke for Aabria and not Brennan. The very least they could do is be real about it, because doing all kinds of bending over backwards to make it seem like they aren't dropping microaggressions everywhere they go is not only not believable, but it's also fucking pathetic. They are not slick, they are not sneaky, they're just mean and disingenuous.

And like, if you're so desperate for more women in the ttrpg space, then going after the best, most popular and main woc in that space is not the move. They weren't even criticizing Fr, they were literally posing double standards, in the same breath that they lament the lack of women in the space.

The entire reason I even got into ttrpg and dropout in the first place is because I saw the first episode of burrows end on YouTube and I was truly mesmerised by Aabria's work. She literally inspired me to try out being a DM, and I wholeheartedly believe that she has done the same for so many other women.

And I'm riding really hard for a woman that does not know me, which is kind of crazy, but that video kind of upset me and I needed to get that off my chest.

i think it's interesting how steph is like... the nerds see her as part of the popular group, and sure we see her talking to the cheerleaders a little, but other than that she doesn't really seem to be one of them in the truest sense? i could fully believe that she feels like the tiniest bit of an outcast there, like she's just cool enough for max to give her a pass but she doesn't really click with them that well. she feels to me like the bridge between the popular ones and the nerds, which is appropriate i suppose for her place in the story.
