We went to the marvelous Neon Museum last night in Las Vegas. Got to stand in front of the iconic Stardust sign!
Tumblr media
Hard to describe how big these signs are!

The old Tropicana sign was lit up too!

At the end, Plushie Mihawk got a new bath friend at the gift shop! XD

I took so many pictures, there are so many more cool and older signage that's not shown here. If you're ever in Vegas, I highly recommend the Neon Museum! It is a wonderful place full of history. They do amazing work to preserve and restore these legacy signs of Las Vegas.

Edmonton, AB (No. 8)
Ice District is a $2.5 billion mixed-use sports and entertainment district being developed on 10 hectares (25 acres) of land in Downtown Edmonton and a portion of the neighbourhood of Central McDougall. Its main attraction is Rogers Place, the home arena of the Edmonton Oilers professional ice hockey team. When completed the area will be Canada's largest mixed-use and entertainment district. The developers of the district are the Katz Group and the ONE Development Group. On July 13, 2015, it was announced that the area of the city surrounding the arena from 101 and 104 Street to 103 and 106 Avenue would be referred to as "Ice District" – a name created by Daryl Katz.
Rogers Place, the home arena for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, is the main attraction of the district. Opened on September 8, 2016, it seats 18,500 people for hockey games. The cost of the arena was around $480 million.

A key piece in the boneyard collection at The Neon Museum is the giant guitar from the Hard Rock Cafe that was in the former Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The guitar sign is modeled after  a Peter Townsend No. 9 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, and it’s one of the first signs you can see when you are waiting for your tour to begin because it’s absolutely huge.
(Don’t worry, Hard Rock fans - there’s still a HRC on the Strip and Hard Rock is taking over what is now known as The Mirage, and it will come complete with an enormous glass guitar building in the coming years.)
It was also really neat to see the sign for La Concha at the end of the tour, as well as older signs for Cesear’s Palace and the Sahara, and we also were free to chat with our guide if we had any other questions or observations.
I cannot recommend this tour enough because it’s such a fun way to experience Las Vegas, no gambling or drinking required.
