I am SO happy to finally be able to share that I had the honor of painting the cover for upcoming Neon Hemlock sword & sorcery anthology Shatter the Sun: Queer Tales of Untold Adventure! Funding now on Kickstarter 👀 tinyurl.com/wn6mzmf7 If you like reading EXCELLENT stories/poems/etc. with queer characters, or even just great horror/fantasy/sci-fi/genre/spec fic in general, Neon Hemlock consistently publishes fantastic work. Everything I've had the pleasure to do with them is very much by lgbtq people and (though not explicitly) for lgbtq people. Please check this, and the rest of their books out! (I've got illustrations in a number of them, including Queer horror anthologies The Crawling Moon and Unfettered Hexes)

Shatter the Sun: Queer Tales of Untold Adventure
Shatter the Sun: Queer Tales of Untold Adventure will be an anthology of pulp heroism in conversation with Samuel R. Delany's Nevèrÿon, Conan and Red Sonja, Imaro and Xena. It will join the shelf beside previous anthologies from editor dave ring and press Neon Hemlock, including Glitter + Ashes, Unfettered Hexes, Luminescent Machinations and, most recently, The Crawling Moon. Join us for stories of queer heroes forged and tempered in the fire, fighting dark stars and bright suns, and overthrowing tyranny in all its forms. These tales will invoke swords and sorcery, sweat and sandals, souls and stars.
So who else wants to read this?! The Kickstarter ends in just 5 days and can use a boost!

5 2023 Indie Releases I'm Excited to Read
It’s such a joy to find an indie publisher. I can usually trust that I’ll enjoy a book from, say, Tor, but their scope is so much wider. Not that there’s no variety here. Just that they tend to be more concise. These are only a handful and I would very much recommend looking at the websites for each publisher for more 2023 releases. Neverest by T.L. Stories about mechs and mechas bleed perfectly into stories about personhood, especially when those stories deal with queerness and transness. Queer peoples are rarely disused to having their personhood questioned or policed.

"Champ Buddy Buckaroo Matey Blokey Geezer Lad"
Infinite Painter.
A neon full-body sprite redraw of Lyle Hemlock, an antagonist from the Ace Attorney fangame "The Contempt of Court" by "Cardiovore" on court-records.net.
I simply adore the character. He's mysterious, scary, difficult to corner, very funny and almost pitiable.

Spotlight on: Neon Hemlock Press because I am dreaming of the weekend, when I will curl up on the couch and read Yellow Jessamine. In addition to having a very cool name, awesome merch (do I need a 'Hex All TERFs' tote bag? No. Would my groceries look good in one on the way home from the store? Absolutely), Neon Hemlock Press publishes speculative fiction, zines, and queer chapbooks. Caitlin Starling, Foz Meadows, and Premee Mohamed are just a few of the talented authors to have published a novella through Neon Hemlock. If any of this sounds up your alley (or if not, they also have have candles? It's almost holiday present time), head over and check them out!
