Naruto - it’s a not so delicate balance between trap and dad rock. Blame Killer B and Jiraiya

Sasuke - metal. Sleep Token connoisseur

Sakura - pop, hiphop, and Jazz. Anything she can sing along to really

Shikamaru - inde/rock and lyricist rap. Anything he can’t just vibe to really, but none of that pop mess

Ino - pop and some hiphop music. She knows all the trending songs from numerous countries

Choji - idk why, but I feel like he’d be into country music

Neji - classical and probably some popish guilty pleasure singer he’ll never admit he listens to, but he’s bought tickets to see them in concert Billie Eilish

Lee - Funk and pop. I just see him liking music that makes you dance/feel good

Tenten - Rap, but 97% of her playlist is female rappers. Jessi, Scraplip, Ktlyn, Meg, CeeChynaa, etc. you mention a new female rapper and she’s adding her to her list

Shino - alternative/indie. Probably would start to listen to beabadoobee because “bee” is in her name

Hinata - love songs. All love songs, doesn’t really matter the genre

Kiba - rap. I’ve said it before, but he listens to artist like NLE Choppa

assuming this is the reply to the previous ask about if i have headcanons, hell yeah I do!

Tenten also really Did Not like Neji when he was in his ‘fate is immutable everything sucks i’m a genius but i’m a caged bird’ era but put up with him because he was the only other one to train with when Lee and Gai were having their training together

Speaking of which, I hate when people say Gai ignored Tenten and Neji in favor of Lee because we se SO MANY scenes where Gai has the whole team training together. This is less of a headcanon but Gai knows his primary skill set is in general taijutsu techniques, so he makes all of his students drill those until they’re second nature, and then leaves Neji and Tenten to learn their respective specialties on their own with a bit of input or advice from him. Neji’s specialized Hyuuga techniques or Tenten’s weapon mastery aren’t something he has direct knowledge on, but his taijutsu mastery does allow him to be able to give them help in whatever small ways he can. he has an easier time with Lee who directly learns all of Gai’s techniques, but he does not neglect his other students’ training when he’s helping Lee.

Tenten is the first one to learn about Neji’s blind spot, through pure accident. I’ve spoken about this in a previous post but Tenten is very exacting and has a good eye for detail. She canonically loves being a “detective” of sorts, figuring things out and cracking puzzles. I think she starts noticing patterns as Neji dodges her weapon barrages; there are certain spots where he always gets nicked because he dodges late, almost as if he can’t see them in time to get out of the way. She manages to figure out he has some kind of blind spot, and knowing how blunt she is, she probably just goes right up to him and asks.

Tenten figuring out his blind spot is probably what gets Neji to open up to her about his seal, and asking her to help him train his Rotation. He knows she managed to figure out one clan secret already, and she’s been fairly helpful so far in his training, he supposes knowing one more won’t really make a huge difference

Tenten is a great secret keeper. Unless Lee is the one asking. Something about his face and her bond with him just has her spilling every secret to him whether she intended to or not

Lee started training with Gai while he was still in the Academy. They definitely wouldn’t have let him graduate if his none of his skills were good, so I think at a certain point, Gai took notice of him as an Academy student and started helping him. Lee just suddenly started getting Really Fucking Good at taijutsu and all the other Academy kids were like ���what the hell” when they realized they’re suddenly losing to the class’ former dead-last

These three could not work together for shit when they first started out. Gai literally had them taking out extra D-ranks on purpose during their first year as genin simply because they couldn’t stop fighting long enough to work together effectively. Their bond that they built is due to several long LONG hours of running punishment laps for fighting.

All of them see Gai as a father figure. Of course we all know this about them but still. for Tenten, Gai is the first major male role model in her life, of course he very quickly becomes a father figure to her. For Lee, Gai is everything he wants to live up to, and they look so alike that of course Lee sees him like a father. With Neji, it’s a bit more complicated, but after losing his father, he hasn’t really had many other good familial relationships within his clan. It’s probably almost comforting to him how different Gai is from Hiashi and the Hyuuga Elders. I think he ends up confiding in Gai a lot and relying on him emotionally.

I’ve written a snippet of this too but Tenten is the first one to kill someone on a mission and Gai helps her through it. She gets through it the quickest of the three as well, but it does fuck her up for a bit because of how soon it is.

it became a tradition that whoever won the three-way sparring match that day to pick what they get for lunch. the winner also gets their food paid for. the longer this goes on the more frequent the visits to spicy curry shops get.

There’s a lot I like about Neji but if I had to pick one thing, I’d say it’s his willingness to be a better person! This is after the chunin exams after Naruto punched some sense into him (literally), but it really takes a lot of strength to be like, “oop I was wrong. I gotta be better.” Like I’ve seen a lot of people who don’t have that strength. And in the long run, I feel like it helped him be the best possible version of himself he could be. It made him seem more… relatable?? Like he’s just trying to do his best and he doesn’t really know how but he’s trying!! And we gotta give him credit for that.

Something that I don’t really like about him is how he like… conformed to being a branch member after the chunin exams if that makes sense?? Like there are a lot of scenes where it just seems like he’s okay with basically being hinatas bodyguard and nothing else (this is not hinatas fault btw I will not tolerate hinata bashing in my house). It’s just… sad. To me it’s a big fault of the writing, especially when his life ended. To me, he never really had a choice in his own life, which is what it seemed like he wanted after his fight with Naruto. Especially when he was so bitter about what happened to his father. There were better ways for him to grow as a person and still counter his fate as a branch member. Him training and helping hinata is a great example of that to me. Basically, to me he merely had an illusion of choice, but in the end, it really wasn’t his to make, and I feel like if he was a bit more confident and rebellious towards the main branch his story would have been a lot more satisfying. Like you CANNOT tell me hinata (and maybe even hanabi) wouldn’t have sided with him. Maybe Hiashi too if anything out of guilt.

Anyway Hiashi dying to protect Neji and hinata and Naruto would have been so much better for a number of reasons I am correct no I do not take criticism

Neji deserved to die during the war arc. He did not offer anything relevant to the story at that point, and he was pretty much written off post Gaara rescue arc along with the rest of Team Gai. No point in having him around in Boruto tbh

team 7 and team gai are always together and team 10 and team 8 are always together. such is the consequence of your jounin senseis dating

tenten’s Eternal RivalTM is temari but she’s never actually admitted it out loud. shikamaru is so scared that tenten is going to steal his girlfriend through the power of youth and sweaty challenges

lee and sasuke are both insane about training and randomly challenge each other to taijutsu battles. as well as lee and naruto get along, him and sasuke have a similar intensity and focus level when it comes to training and lee prefers to train with sasuke when he can’t train with any of his team or with sakura

speaking of team 7 and taijutsu, sakura trains with team gai all of the time, especially with lee. their sparring has gotten so out of hand that tsunade had a special training ground made for them out in the mountains so they’d stop breaking the communal training grounds and pissing off all the chunin and jounin.

shikamaru and neji play shogi together all the time. neji has only beaten shikamaru a few times, always when he’s distracted thinking about something else

ino, shino, and tenten are the snoops/detectives and somehow know everything about everyone all the time

slugs aren’t bugs but shino still goes wild over sakura’s slug summon. deeply upset about naruto’s toad summons though

choji and lee have spicy curry eating contests all the time and are basically keeping the curry of life shop open with their patronage alone

kiba, naruto, and tenten are the agents of chaos of the group and their victim is somehow always neji

hinata hangs out a lot with team gai because of neji and is really close with lee and tenten. lee is one of the people who helps bring hinata out of her shell and become more confident in herself

shino insists on addressing all of team gai with ‘senpai’ until they finally get him to stop after they all get promoted in the second chunin exams.

lee cries whenever someone calls him senpai

the girls all hang out together regularly and have sleepovers at each others’ places all the time. the guys see the girls making plans to hang out and THEN decide they should plan something too

neji isnt allowed to play card games because everyone thinks he’ll use his byakugan to cheat. hinata is allowed to play but nobody ever notices that she keeps using her byakugan. kiba has lost so much money betting against her

sasuke nearly gets banned a few times for trying to use his sharingan but he gets clowned on for it because it’s so noticeable and he gives up after that

sakura loves using her strength to carry people around. she’ll just pick up her friends and start walking around, especially if she’s drunk

speaking of getting drunk, sakura tenten and choji have insane alcohol tolerances and because of that they’re usually the one paying for drinks when the k12 go out. sakura is the one to beat in drinking contests and the only one who has is tsunade
