So there's been a lull in the Max/Kelly drama recently. Sure, yeah, it's a bit boring... but I want to take this time to post the timeline I've spent a lot of time on here.

I've been meaning to post it on Tumblr for a bit. I've just been busy with IRL stuff and, well, a bit lazy :p

Anyway, let's start off strong with the introduction! Meet the people involved, learn the sources I used multiple times, et cetera.

NAMES OF NOTE: 

THE MAIN CHARACTERS

Kelly Piquet: Kelly Piquet is a Brazilian self-proclaimed model, columnist, and public relations professional, known for her relationship with Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen: Max Verstappen is a Belgian-Dutch Formula 1 driver, recognized for his talent and competitive performance on the track.

FORMER PARTNERS/RELATIONSHIPS OF KELLY

Antonio Pedro Marcondes Ferraz: Kelly Piquet's first public relationship was with Antonio Pedro Marcondes Ferraz. They started dating in 2011, and a year later, they got engaged. However, their engagement was short-lived, and the couple broke up in 2013.

Beto Pacheco: Following her breakup with Ferraz, Kelly dated Beto Pacheco, a Brazilian influencer and entrepreneur, from 2014 to 2016. Their relationship was notable in the Brazilian social scene due to Pacheco's significant online presence.

Roos van der Aa: In 2016, Max was reportedly in a relationship with Roos van der Aa, a Dutch model. Their relationship was short-lived.

Dilara Sanlik: A notable relationship was with Dilara Sanlik, a German student, which lasted for a couple of years until 2020. They kept their relationship mostly private, with limited social media presence and public appearances together.

Max has also been linked to Sabre Cook, Joyce Godefridi, and Maxime Pourquie. But because little information is available about those relationships, they will be excluded from this timeline.

Nelson Piquet Sr.: Nelson Piquet Sr. is Kelly Piquet’s father and a former Formula 1 driver with three world championships. He has been involved in controversies, including making racially insensitive remarks about Lewis Hamilton, which led to public criticism​ and a ban from the F1 paddock.

Nelson Piquet Jr.: Nelson Piquet Jr. is Kelly Piquet’s older brother. He has competed in Formula 1 and Formula E, where he became the inaugural champion in 2015. His career includes the "Crashgate" incident during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, which drew significant attention and controversy.

The Piquet family, particularly Nelson Piquet Sr., has had several controversial moments involving Hamilton, including the use of racially insensitive language to describe him.

Lando Norris: Lando Norris is a British-Belgian Formula 1 driver known for his charismatic personality and performance on the track. He is friendly with Max, but has an unusual connection with Kelly that dates back to his debut year of 2019.

Natalie "Natty" Sifferman: Natty Sifferman is an actress and abstract artist. She gained recognition for her role in the 2017 film Rebirth. She was married to Jérôme d'Ambrosio from 2013 to 2015​, and has accused Kelly of having an affair with Jérôme while they were married.

Limes have set a record price here in Brazil

The much-needed rain has finally fallen in the State of São Paulo in Brazil, to the big relief of lime growers in this major growing region. The recent rain follows months of dry and hot weather that led to damaging wildfires that spread to some citrus and lime farms and pack houses. The cooler autumn weather in Europe, and lower supply is leading to improving lime prices, which are all good conditions for Brazilian lime exports.

According to Sérgio Negrão, CEO and co-founder of the exporter Jagrao in Brazil, they are very relieved to finally have received the much-needed rain. "Thank God, the rains have returned to Brazil and the State of São Paulo. The limes need 15 days of rain." During August, the wildfires spread from sugar cane plantations to limes and orange farms. Roads were covered in smoke, which led to many accidents. A record amount of fires were reported in the state, with over 1,649 fire outbreaks recorded, more than double the number reported in the same period in 2023.

Rita Lee

Em novembro de 1987 inauguramos o Aeroanta, um galpão no largo da Batata, em Pinheiros, também na zona oeste da cidade. Uma casa de shows com pista de dança e restaurante que funcionava seis vezes por semana, com gente saindo pelo ladrão.

Nesse empreendimento juntaram-se a nós Sérgio Zerbini, um antigo amigo de ginásio que achou o ponto, e o Alfredo Pimenta, que fez o projeto de arquitetura com o Zé Renato e Alex Negrão. Mais de mil espetáculos, entre 1987 e 1993, deram oportunidade a muitas bandas se apresentarem.

Marisa Monte, Ed Motta, Cazuza, Barão Vermelho, Lobão, Biquini Cavadão, Daniela Mercury, Ratos do Porão, Léo Jaime, Inocentes, Ultraje a Rigor, Ira! Plebe Rude, RPM, Kid Vinil, Mulheres Negras, Luni, Titãs, Engenheiros do Hawaii, Cássia Eller, Cidade Negra, Manu Chao e Capital Inicial foram alguns dos nomes que fizeram história no Aero.

Muitos artistas consagrados também tocaram no Aeroanta. Em 1990, Rita Lee queria alugar o galpão por dois dias, na parte da tarde, para ensaiar, pois ela havia sido convidada para tocar no Festival de Montreux. Como ela não tocava em público fazia cerca de dez anos, pensamos em convidá-la. Seria uma injustiça a Rita tocar no Aero para ninguém. Fizemos uma oferta irrecusável: 100% da bilheteria para ela e o movimento do bar para nós. Ela aceitou. E isso caiu na boca da imprensa e fomos capa de todos os jornais.

Era a semana inteira de gente telefonando para pedir ingressos. Até aquela lindinha da escola que nunca olhou para minha cara e que eu não via há mais de vinte anos.

Colocamos à venda quinhentos ingressos e deixamos outros quinhentos para vender no dia. O largo da Batata estava tomado, a fila dava volta ao quarteirão, e quem já tinha ingresso chegou cedo, ou seja, às dez e meia já tinham entrado na casa mais de quinhentas pessoas.

Estávamos tensos e ansiosos. De repente, pluft, acaba a luz. Achei que fosse um problema do Aero, mas ao sair para a rua vejo Pinheiros às escuras. Meu Deus, isso nunca aconteceu e vai acabar a luz logo hoje, no dia da estreia da Rita Lee!

As pessoas perguntavam: “Vocês não têm gerador?” “O show vai ser cancelado?” O pior: parou o ar, os caixas, a máquina de chope... tudo, e lá dentro só as luzes de emergência davam aquele ar de fim de festa.

Fiquei olhando aquela imensa fila, atônito, pensando no que fazer. Fui despertado pela pergunta de uma moça: “Você não é um dos sócios da casa?” “Sim”, respondi. Ela continuou: “Sabe, eu trabalho na Eletropaulo e quem sabe se eu ligar pra lá não posso descobrir o que aconteceu”.

Não botei muita fé nela, mas aceitei a sugestão e a levei para o escritório. Ela

ligou e falou com alguém de plantão: “Olha, estou em uma casa de shows aqui em Pinheiros e acabou a luz aqui no bairro. Vocês já sabem o que aconteceu?”

Do outro lado da linha responderam que um caminhão bateu em um poste na avenida Eusébio Matoso, uma movimentada avenida que separa Pinheiros dos Jardins, derrubou um transformador e a previsão para o restabelecimento da energia era por volta das seis da manhã do dia seguinte. Quando ela me repetiu isso, gelei, mas ela continuou: “Por favor, transfere a ligação para quem está de plantão aí na chefia”.

Ouvi, sem acreditar: “Sabe, fulano, eu sou a fulana de tal, estou aqui no Aeroanta para ver um show da Rita Lee e acabou a luz por causa de um acidente na Eusébio Matoso, e quero te pedir um favor. Vamos fazer a energia chegar aqui por um outro caminho: apaga Alto de Pinheiros e acende Pinheiros para mim, por favor”.

Dez minutos depois pluft de novo: acendeu o bairro.

Esta é uma das inúmeras histórias que aconteceram na minha vida profissional na época que trabalhava na noite Paulistana.

Não preciso dizer que o show foi maravilhoso, e ainda tive a linda oportunidade de conhecê-la.

Critical Analysis

Our emotional states can change over time based on the media we consume daily, although what is interesting is how it happens in practicality. Animated short films are typical impulses, however, it is unknown how they affect the state of mind of the audience. The study analyzed today delves into the exploration of the changes happening in the mental states of the participants according to the tone, negative or positive, of the film they watched. The research also focuses on data such as emotional baseline and potential change in the main emotion, all based on an Emotional Intensity scale. One of the goals of the report is to understand whether sociodemographic characteristics associated with the applicants could influence the overall response concerning the movie. Another reason that makes the study even more unique, is the historical period in which it was conducted: the COVID-19 global pandemic. During such a time, emotions could be intensified and altered due to social distancing and increased rate of anxiety levels, therefore turning the case study into something quite exceptional.

For this article, I will be examining pages 9 and 10 of the text, because they reflect a deeper analysis of the negative states of mind resulting from the study and focus on the effects given by the moment of relaxation proposed by the experiment right after the vision of the short film.

The interesting mix of nationalities contributing to the creation of the case study brings together expertise from both Brazilian and American institutions. Both Juliana Negrão, Paulo Bazán, Raymundo de Azevedo, Shirley Lacerda, and Elisa Kozasa are affiliated with Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo and work in the psychological and emotional health environment. On the other hand, Eve Ekman is associated with the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California and specializes in emotion regulation and mindfulness.

Some of the key points brought by the experts are related to the impact that external stimuli have on our perception of events and general well-being. Negative emotions usually tend to have more weight on our overall vision and last longer, however, mental states can change quite rapidly based on external factors. Even though what happens on the outside has a huge impact on us, our current emotional state can also divert how we are going to evaluate situations. Other parameters that the experts took into account were gender, age, level of education, social occupation, and the use of specific medicines or the presence of psychiatric issues, which could have influenced the participant’s emotional variations.

The authors choose to prove their arguments by presenting the effects of either positive or negative content and the eventual relaxation proposed after the experiment. The study confirms that it is much more difficult for an emotional control strategy to work on an individual who already started the experiment in a negative state of mind, rather than on a happier person. The experts continue by reserving a small section of the analysis to the commentary on the consequences of depression or anxiety during the experiment, resulting as well in a more negative perception of the experience. Concerning this topic, the article introduces a more specific terminology talking about a phenomenon called the refractory period: state of mind which makes it hard for the person experiencing it to switch to an emotional state opposite of what they are feeling. This specific section is quite easy to follow, because of the formal but very easy language used. Moreover, the authors continue the explanations of their findings with an ultimate comparison between the initial main emotion valences, the way they changed throughout the study, and the sociodemographic information of the applicants. The results showed a higher emotional control and positive effect among the elderly candidates, as well as among people who didn’t declare any usage of psychiatric medications. A new and unexpected element of the study is brought by the relaxation audio proposed by the experts immediately after the viewing of the short movie. The authors explain that the addition was meant to minimize the negative effects created by the more negative animated films, however, all of the participants benefited from this final component.

Although the case study was brilliantly conducted, I noticed some inaccuracies I would have tried to avoid while reading the report. Towards the conclusion, the text says: “... the participants’ perception of the film was not directly assessed, and participants could have interpreted or perceived the film in ways different from the expected positive or negative valences …”. I understand the aim of the study is to assess changes in emotional perception among positive or negative animated movies only. However, I believe that the case study could have appeared more complete if other emotions were also considered.

Nonetheless, throughout the article, multiple writers made their arguments based on specific data conducted through a complex and complete survey based on emotional responses, percentages, and statistics. I think both the writing and the visual schemes were accessible enough for a large amount of the audience. The authors introduced the topics and made their arguments on clear data and a quite neutral and flowing use of the language. Finally, as both an animator and a daily media consumer, I believe that this research made me realize how oblivious I am about the power of multimedia content and the effects that it has on me and my emotional state. Moreover, the article made me realize how much unawareness there is towards our own emotions, and how easily manipulated we are in that sense. The fact that negative mindsets are harder to get rid of and the ignorance that still revolves around mental illnesses about this matter is something to take into consideration. I think this text is incredibly effective because it brings together highly relevant topics: psychology, neuroscience, and media studies. Moreover, the presence of animated movies as a case study is a popular and relatable medium that adds practical and cultural significance to the study.

After analyzing this article, a major conclusion that can apply to my work is that nothing is innocent and that everything has an effect on us, even if media strategies try to hide it. Therefore, this made me realize how much influence my work can have on people and how conscious I need to be.

Uma mulher e seu filho caíram em uma cratera que se formou repentinamente enquanto se dirigiam à Escola Municipal Prefeito Cyro Martins, situada nas proximidades. Populares que testemunharam o acidente acionaram imediatamente as equipes de socorro. Informações preliminares indicam que a mulher sofreu uma lesão na perna, enquanto a criança apresentou ferimentos de moderados a graves. Ambos foram prontamente encaminhados para uma Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA) para receber os cuidados médicos necessários. Moradores da região relataram que este não é um caso isolado. Em dezembro de 2019, um veículo foi engolido por um buraco que se abriu quase no mesmo local do incidente atual. Naquela ocasião, uma segunda cratera também surgiu a poucos metros de distância, possivelmente devido às fortes chuvas que atingiram a área.   A suspeita é que as recentes chuvas intensas tenham contribuído para o surgimento dessas crateras. Situação semelhante foi observada na Rua Presciliano Negrão, próxima à Escola Cyro Martins, onde outra cratera se formou. Este incidente ressalta a necessidade urgente de melhorias na infraestrutura urbana e de medidas preventivas para evitar futuros acidentes. A comunidade local aguarda ações efetivas das autoridades competentes para garantir a segurança dos moradores e prevenir a recorrência de tais eventos. A Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa ainda não se pronunciou oficialmente sobre o ocorrido. Enquanto isso, os moradores permanecem apreensivos e esperam por soluções que assegurem a integridade das vias públicas e a segurança de todos.

As if battling drought and now rain is not enough Brazilian lime exports are now also struggling with long delays of up to 38 days with shipping. Sérgio Negrão, CEO and co-founder of the exporter Jagrao in Brazil, says "After a long and severe drought we now have enough rain. We suffered from the drought in Brazil, now we suffer with maritime logistics."

He says they are very relieved to receive the rain. "In the third week of November after a long and severe drought, it started to rain heavily here in the State of São Paulo. And it continues to rain three or four times a week, which is great. The rivers, lakes, and water reservoirs are returning to their normal levels."

However, he says, although the current rainfall is good, the Brazilian lime production will be affected by the drought with lower volumes expected next year. "The limes have also felt the benefits of the rain, but this year we will not have a harvest like in other years. Production at the beginning of the year will be reduced by half in 2025, which could raise prices here in Brazil and perhaps keep prices at average levels in Europe."
