Can I just make a public service announcement.

If you come on here to be a complete Negative Nancy and a Serious Susan about absolutely ridiculous shit (example: a joke that didn’t even concern you, involve you, or affect you whatsoever) can you maybe log off for the night or scroll past? Because some people on here, myself included, have a lot of issues and stresses going on in their lives and see this space and the communities they are part of as a solace to escape all of that so when they are having banter and enjoying themselves is it really your concern to try and police that? And to try and lecture authors on here, who literally spend their free time writing incredible stuff for you to read (for free! They don’t even get payed for the hours of effort may I remind you) is ridiculous. I shouldn’t even be letting it bother me, but there’s enough serious shit going on in the world to be concerned about than people joking in tumblr comments. Sincerely, someone who will continue to wonder about my favourite actors dick size because it’s natural human curiosity and a completely natural thought for anyone who is sexually attracted to men to have. And I highly doubt he would ever stumble across tumblr pages who are mostly dedicated to a role he played over 6 years ago but maybe that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sorry for the rant everyone and for temporarily making this a negative space, a little hypocritical but I’m fricking pissed off. Anyway, rant over and back to making this a positive and fun space.

I treat my work like a living document, constantly making running edits. It’s been a long-standing part of my work ethic—and tradition—to share drafts that are 98% done and let people in on the thought process behind building a story. What gets cut, what sticks.

Writing is a culture that needs to be cultivated, and inviting others into that space means being open to both learning from and teaching others. I detest the elitist mindset that only perfectly polished work deserves to be shared or celebrated. It’s neither inclusive nor realistic. Frankly, it's an impossible standard—and one that does more harm than good. It erodes fandoms.

Let’s bring back openness, tolerance, and humility.

And if I may say it: I have a sneaky suspicion this kind of gatekeeping is a Reddit thing. The irony is that these self-proclaimed experts, so quick to judge others’ work as unworthy, rarely have anything to show for themselves. You won’t find them posting fanfics and exposing their labors of love to public scrutiny.

So I say—write that shit. Share that shit. Post that shit. Especially all of you writing in your second, third, or even fifth languages. Keep that shit up! How lucky we are to live in a world overflowing with content, made possible by the fact that so many of us are multilingual.

So I watched the Minecraft movie trailer

It’s just… a reskinned Jumanji 2? I’m not going to pretend I was going to watch it in theaters but… we couldn’t have thought of something a little more creative?

That being said idk what plot I would’ve chosen but… I’m just a little disappointed. Especially with Jumanji also being PG so it’s not like it’s “made for kids they won’t watch Jumanji so it doesn’t matter”
