ⵌ clean - girl's aesthetic can go crying in the corner. I need my books to look like this by the end of the year. bits and pieces. memorized every. single. word and diagrams with graphs.

Hello langblr and studyblr people!
I'm thinking of starting small groups, of no more than 5-10 people each who are interested in these things:
Language learning: I'm learning Korean and I'm below intermediate level and I study three times a week. So if any one of you want to join together for accountability and productivity, you're welcome to join.
NEET/ Pre-Med/ Phy-Chem-Bio/ etc: I'm preparing for NEET (medical entrance examination) again and I'm study everyday, it's only for 2-4 hours but I'll be increasing the hours to 7-8 hopefully, so if anyone of you wants to join for accountability and productivity, you're very welcome.
English literature/Sociology/Geography : I'm an English lit student and I have these subjects that I also need to be studying for my 3rd year of undergraduation. I study these for 2-3 hours per week, so if you wanna come together in this journey, you're very welcome.
The group can be anywhere, wherever most of the people would like it to be. It could be in here (as a community if its approved), or on discord, or telegram, or whatsapp or even instagram. Edit: i realised that different people would have different preferences but I'd like to share mine, I consider these most convenient: Google Chat (possibly the best for us for various reasons: (1)you can use any email of yours, you'll remain anonymous (2) as far as i know, it has a tasks feature which would be convenient for Productivity) and other options is telegram. We can shift to other ones too, but really I find these to be the best of all.
Happy studying!
Also:
dm me or reply/repost to this post
Dm me only if you are serious
I'd like to have separate spaces for each of these things, mingling them would get hectic, please keep that in mind. You can join all or any of them.

23rd Jan, 2024, Tuesday
1:40pm: the obstacles have shown up. in the form of a toxic parental. a small relief is that it wasn't of my making but when a parent fails to do parent things, its like a double edged sword and you're the one getting cut on both ends.
while I did stay up last night to try and complete Thermodynamics - and when I crashed after that I didn't wake up early at all T_T - it dawned on me that its simply too big of a chapter to complete in one day. along with the other chapters I've assigned myself this week.
I thought about it and I think realistically I'm not going to be able to finish them all in the time I have right now, but I can still do something so I don't walk into an exam blind and resigned.
so as a compromise, I'm gonna do as much as I can for the chapters I scheduled each day and its okay if I don't finish the whole thing, because I still did learn and now know more than I did yesterday. despite what anyone says, that's enough.
next month, hopefully with a better plan and more time I'll catch up with everything.

20–01–2024, Saturday
struck off everything from my to-do list for today! wonderfully productive day :D dropping neet coaching classes and taking up individual private tuitions for phy, chem and maths (2 hours each) was an amazing idea. it saves so much time and anyways coaching mein ghanta kuch padhai nahi hota tha, sirf time waste for 7-8 hours on weekends, so this is much better and also i get much more time for self studying, which is the best!! will also take up a bio private tuition in april when i start class 12
learnt my current psych chapter
made notes for the new psych chapter
started Glycolysis in Respiration
watched a video lecture
practiced neet mcqs from cell cycle and cell division
practiced conic sections
revised structure of atom and practiced it's numericals
revised thermodynamics in physics

Welcome to the life of National Testing Agency ( NTA)
1. Wake up
2. Leak exam papers for money
3. Create controversies for no reason
4. Give mental trauma to students so that they can never think of being a doctor ever again.
5. Create another controversy without any explanation of previous controversy.
6. Decreasing the population of youth without any war or killing.
7. Giving grace marks to certain students without any clarification
8. Sleep

My online lectures were going fine but I made a mistake .
I thought comparing myself with others at this moment won't sting me much , I thought I needed a reality check for my sake , I thought the overwhelming numbers of students and rankers wouldn't affect me this time around but oh boy i don't even know myself. I once again buried myself under all what ifs , the bad ugly what ifs .
And yeah I just started , so I do feel like everybody is ahead of me and not just that , everybody's better brighter and most likely moving mountains . I have roughly a few months left in me , left to sit in the hall and write my course of life as they say . I don't mind much taking another year to crack this devastating hell of an entrance exam but it's starting to hit me now , just NOW , that it's embarrassing. It's embarrassing to sit and keep trying with clenched teeth and red eyes once more to get back one ' you didn't give enough ' from myself .
I had never tried enough . Never once I gave enough. So never before I got enough . But standing at the final doors to much dreamt adulthood , I feel the deep need to try . Once . And enough . Even typing this out of my system rn feels disgusting and I feel it so abdominally rooted I want to mission abort .
I am trying . I wish I was lying but I am trying , only if I knew trying real hard for the first time in my life will make me feel so small and insignificant and fill me with regrets of not striving or wanting anything as deeply at a younger age .
Lastly , anybody out there feeling anything even a point similar to this , I hope you get the ugly things out of your system too like I did .
And I am right here .

Study Tip #1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How to remember stuff for a long period of time?
Firstly, you should know that our brain is very adept at forgetting things it doesn't consider necessary for its survival and it fails to understand that excelling our exams are veryyyy important for our survival.
So, what you need is revision of your subject matter over and over again, over a period of time.
How to achieve that though?
Flashcards are often used for achieving this technique but to be honest, for a very vast syllabus Flashcards get quite overwhelming. So I created REVISION SHEETS for myself. It's the same thing as flashcards but it encompasses a few other techniques that makes the vastness of the topics a little easy to control and comprehend.
I make them two ways: one is completely random, with information important to remember but from various different topics. And another is by making mindmaps.
And in both of these things, I add information in QnA format. Easy.
Step by Step guide to revision sheets:
Firstly, I'd advise you to read/understand a chapter/topic through a lecture, a youtube video or a textbook. Atleast have a basic understanding of the concepts.
Check the major headings or the major sub-topics.
Start plotting the mindmap roughly, by Sub-topics and how and where you'll put them for better understanding.
Now, when you're writing content, put it all in QnA format, especially HOW you want you remember the information.
There, done.
Just make sure to use that sheet to revision at good intervals of time.
You can, of course, make changes to this process. But this is what I've done for my revision work.

[Also, I am not sure if someone else might not have already thought of this idea. Though, I don't think such study tips have any copyright but I'm just putting out there that if it resembles something that others have used/talk about online, then it's because we both thought of the same thing. And you'll too probably to solve your study problems. So all the best, let's all work hard and find our happiness.]
