Some natural ingredients that have been traditionally used to protect skin from fungal infections:
Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is a popular essential oil with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It can be diluted in a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, and applied topically to the affected area. However, tea tree oil can be irritating to the skin, so it is important to do a patch test before using it on a large area.

Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar has a slightly acidic pH, which can help create an environment that is less hospitable to fungi. You can dilute apple cider vinegar with water and apply it to the affected area with a cotton ball.
Coconut oil: Coconut oil has antifungal properties and can help moisturize the skin. However, it is important to choose virgin coconut oil, as processed coconut oil may not have the same antifungal effects.

Unlocking the Code: Ancient Japanese Wisdom for Fungal-Free Toenails
Tumblr media
Fungal infections affecting toenails can be both unsightly and uncomfortable. While there are many over-the-counter and prescription treatments available, ancient Japanese wisdom offers a natural remedy that has been passed down through generations. In this article, we will unlock the code of ancient Japanese wisdom to help you achieve fungal-free toenails. Section 1: Understanding Fungal Nail Infections Before we dive into the natural remedy, let's first understand what fungal nail infections are and their causes. Fungal infections occur when certain types of fungi invade the nails, resulting in changes in texture, color, and thickness. Common causes include excessive moisture, poor hygiene, compromised immune system, and even genetics. Section 2: Unlocking the Ancient Japanese Wisdom Ancient Japanese wisdom has long embraced natural remedies for various ailments, and treating fungal nail infections is no exception. The following natural remedy has stood the test of time: 1. Tea Tree Oil: Renowned for its antifungal and antiseptic properties, tea tree oil is an essential ingredient in fighting off fungal infections. Dilute a few drops of tea tree oil with a carrier oil (such as coconut or olive oil), then apply the mixture to the affected nails. 2. Neem Oil: Another powerful natural antifungal agent, neem oil can help combat the fungus causing toenail infections. Apply a few drops of neem oil directly to the affected nails or mix it with a carrier oil for easier application. 3. Vinegar Soaks: Vinegar, particularly apple cider vinegar, has acidic properties that create an inhospitable environment for fungi. Soak your affected toes in a mixture of water and vinegar for about 15 minutes daily to help kill the fungi. Section 3: Implementing the Natural Remedy To effectively utilize the ancient Japanese wisdom and achieve fungal-free toenails, follow these steps: Step 1: Prepare the affected nails by gently filing them and removing any debris. Step 2: Choose your preferred natural remedy. You can either apply tea tree oil, neem oil, or use vinegar soaks. Step 3: Apply the chosen remedy to the affected nails using a clean cotton ball or a dropper. Step 4: Gently massage the oil into the nails and surrounding skin. Step 5: Repeat the application once or twice daily for several weeks until the fungal infection clears up. Step 6: Maintain good foot hygiene to prevent future re-infections by keeping your feet clean, dry, and using antifungal powders or sprays regularly. Section 4: Expert Tips for Optimal Results To maximize the effectiveness of the natural remedy and speed up the healing process, consider the following expert tips: 1. Be consistent: Consistency is key to successfully treating fungal nail infections. Stick to the chosen natural remedy and maintain a regular routine until the infection clears up completely. 2. Practice good nail hygiene: Keeping your nails trimmed, clean, and dry helps create an environment that is unfavorable for fungal growth. 3. Consider lifestyle changes: Certain lifestyle factors may contribute to fungal infections. Wearing breathable socks and shoes, avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture, and practicing good foot hygiene can help prevent future infections. Conclusion: Unlocking the code of ancient Japanese wisdom reveals powerful natural remedies to address fungal nail infections effectively. By incorporating tea tree oil, neem oil, or vinegar soaks into your daily routine, you can bid farewell to fungal-infected toenails and enjoy healthy, beautiful nails once again. Sustainable Travel Essentials For Your Next Trip
Each year, more than 1.4 billion tourists travel to the many beautiful destinations of this planet. Once the travel bug gets to you, it never leaves. And whoever has it, knows how enriching and fulfilling an experience it can be and how difficult the last few years have been with the entire world shutting down due to the pandemic. However, that has only made the need for sustainable travel more pertinent! Overtourism and purely commercial tourism pose many serious threats such as air and water pollution, damaging the local environment and economy and increased plastic waste. Carrying these sustainable travel essentials is the perfect mix to make your trips both fun and environment-friendly so let’s get started without further delay!
1. Bio-degradable and Reusable Tableware
Plastic cutleries are easy and essential but not only are they non-biodegradable but are injurious to animals. Aquatic animals are often found with plastics in their bellies that can turn fatal. Instead, you could carry sustainable dinnerware made from bio-degradable ingredients like bamboo or sugarcane pulp.
At Chalo Green Products, we have a range of plant-based tableware that is sustainable and has great aesthetic value. Easily disposable, these are a must-have for your sustainable travel plans!
2. Cloth, Canvas, or Jute Bags
From packing shoes to carrying clothes, plastic bags are everywhere. Every store staff will probably hand you one once you are done shopping, but you could instead use bags made from clothes, canvas, or jute while traveling that are eco-friendly and durable. When you are out shopping in the local market, get these bags or check our website and pick the one most suited for your travel needs. They won’t break down easily, and nor will they break down our precious but fragile ecosystem!
Pro tip: Use newspapers to wrap your slippers in!
3. Reusable Water Bottle
While traveling, keeping hydrated is necessary. Carrying packaged bottles of drinking mineral water or buying one made sense in the past when many places lacked safe drinking water. But now plastic bottles are more a threat than convenience; dumping them carelessly leads to the extinction of ocean species and pollution. Instead, using alternatives like reusable copper bottles can quench your thirst and cause no damage to the environment.
4. Sustainable Sleeping Bags
If you are an outdoor person, then you will probably find any opportunity to go camping or hiking. And if you do, then you should carry eco-friendly sleeping bags. Made from recycled materials, it is not only not harmful to the planet but also ultra-light and easy to carry. They are truly great if you are a hiker or a backpacker!
5. Reusable Coffee Sipper
Coffee lovers know how important that morning cuppa is for a great day, and a reusable sipper makes the whole experience a thousand times better by adding sustainability to the brew! You can simply use it instead of getting a takeaway cup. So, for all the coffee lovers out there, travel to any country or continent without the fear of missing out on your caffeine fix!
6. Eco-friendly Fashion and Beauty Products
Beauty and fashion are important parts of our lifestyle, but the environmental impacts of those harmful minerals and plastic bottles can make the whole experience bitter. You can instead go for sustainable items like natural shampoos and soap bars. Our neem wood tooth combs are great for your personal use and are safe for the environment as well.
Conclusion
Sustainable tourism is incomplete without supporting the local economies and heritage artisanal work. It is true that over the last few years, and especially in the wake of a global pandemic, people are now taking sustainability more seriously, which is great, but there’s still a long way to go. Choosing sustainable travel essentials, slow traveling, and mindful travel habits are all steps in the right direction, and we hope that your journey with us becomes all of this and much more! Read our blog here to know more about adopting sustainable travel habits.

Madhubani Local Art Is a Global Draw
Madhubani or Mithila canvases of Bihar (India) like Punjab's phulkari are basically people artworks done by the country ladies of Madhubani region. Situated on the lower regions of the Himalaya in the North, the Ganga in the South and encompassed by the Mahananda in the East and the Gandak in the West, Mithila is spread more than 64,750 square kilometers of the Indo-Gangetic alluvial belt. It is quite possibly of the most fruitful land and in this manner came to be known as Madhubani, the backwoods of honey.
The antiquated realm of Mithila is accepted to be the origin of Sita. Tulsidas in Ramayana has given a clear portrayal of how the whole Mithila was finished with paintings portraying Hindu gods and the widely varied vegetation on the event of Sita's marriage. It is accepted that Lord Janaka had requested canvases to be made for his girl's wedding. These remarkable formal paintings have since ages been designing the walls of the houses in the regions of Champaran, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Munger, Begusarai, Bhagalpur and Purnea, basically the whole piece of the state.
These compositions developed out of a 5000-year-old custom of the specialty of bitra-chitra or wall painting to stamp social events like the matrimonial office of the lady and husband to be. This people culture has forever been hoarded and safeguarded by ladies. They have passed their abilities particularly to young ladies starting with one age then onto the next. Of late, a few men have likewise hopped into this innovativeness however even today it is basically cornered by ladies.
Albeit these works of art depict a few society icons of Madhubani (Mithila) district the fundamental concentration, be that as it may, is on Raja Salesh, considered as the main divine force of these individuals. Divine beings and goddesses like Smash Sita, Krishna-Radha, Shiva-Parvati, Durga, Kali, Ganesha, Hanuman, Ravana, the Sun, the Moon and nine planets are additionally portrayed in these artworks. These figures are put midway and their consorts, mounts and botanical themes are set behind the scenes.
The dry season that struck the Mithila district from 1966 to 1968 prompted the globalization and commercialization of this people craftsmanship, as a way to make another wellspring of non-farming pay. The All-India Handiworks Board, provincial art organizations, the States of Bihar and India, urged these specialists to deliver and showcase their works of art on carefully assembled papers. The artistic creations which were before drawn exclusively on walls, today, notwithstanding, are likewise portrayed on paper, enlivening pots, saris, salwar kameez, dupattas, shoes, Shirts, cloaks, stoles, pad covers, bed sheets, embroidery, adornments, hankies and now and again on wood.
The world came to be familiar with this way of painting in the early long stretches of the last 100 years. William and Mildred Bowman, English government workers, posted in the area were quick to report the practice of Madhubani painting. They got a few drawings on paper and sent them to the India Records Office in London (presently part of the English Library) for experts to concentrate as imaginative works of India's people workmanship.
Customarily the craftsmen utilize native vegetable tones and bamboo sticks enclosed by cotton for painting on carefully assembled papers. These papers are treated with cow compost dried and consequently protected. They utilize the juice of the locally accessible creepers and blossoms: henna leaves, blossoms of harsinghar and palash, bougainvilleas and the sap of the neem tree, to get a scope of varieties. Colors are made by blending ash in with cow waste for the dark; from turmeric or dust or lime and the milk of banyan leaves for the yellow; blue from indigo; red from the kusum bloom juice or red sandalwood; the green of the leaves of the wood of an apple tree; white from rice powder and orange from palasha blossoms.
Indeed, even presently, paints are arranged natively. Two sorts of privately made brushes are utilized. A little bamboo-twig with a marginally frayed end is utilized for drawing frames and small subtleties. The space is loaded up with the assistance of a pihua, produced using binds a little piece of material to a twig. The blueprint is attracted a solitary progression of the brush without fundamental portraying.
Ethnic differentiations are normal for Mithila people compositions and craftsmanship. This might be one explanation; why each local area actually protects its own custom. Ladies of the Kayastha people group really do for the most part frame works of art, Brahmins fill in an unpleasant layout on variety and Harijan ladies superimpose dark spots on the thick earthy colored lines finished with cow excrement and water. Canvases done by the Kayastha people group have extremely fine depicted mathematical examples, for the most part clearly, while the Brahmins consolidate colors like dazzling blues, reds and greens

Bend, Not Break
Tumblr media
pairing: i.m (im changkyun) x gender-neutral reader
genre: non-idol!AU, boss/subordinate!AU, third-person POV, similar to the kdrama “Romance is a Bonus Book” (small book publisher setting), part of a series
word count: 1683 | next
content warnings: one mention of blood, one mention of alcohol
summary: you work as a copy editor at a publishing house, and you’re a genuine hard worker who never breaks rules—that is, until a new boss takes over your department. you find yourself magnetized and lusting over him, and vice versa, so perhaps your morals can bend just a little?
requested by: @livingwithmx
a/n: From here on out, I’ll be incorporating more Korean language and cultural things into my writing, but fear not: I will list a handy key each time with translations and pronunciations! To make it more universally easier to understand my included Korean, I’ll write the Romanized words in the story and add the Hangul in the key.
korean key:
⦿ biseonim (비서님) = secretary; pronounced “pee-suh-neem;” (titles follow one’s surname) ⦿ annyeonghaseyo (안녕하세요) = most common and formal hello; pronounced “on-yawng-ha-seh-yo” ⦿ pyeongjibjangnim (편집장님) = editor; reader’s work title; pronounced “pyung-jeeb-jahng-neem” ⦿ soju (소주) = clear Korean grain alcohol, similar to vodka; pronounced as it looks ⦿ jungyeok (중역) = executive director; pronounced “jung-yuk” ⦿ pyeonjibguk (편집국) = editorial department; pronounced “pyun-jib-gook”

“Good morning, YL/N-pyeongjibjangnim!” Seoyoon calls out from behind the wide reception desk, her adorable chipmunk cheeks dimpling as she watches Y/N step off the elevator and onto the eighth floor, where their employer is located in the building.
“Annyeonghaseyo, Park-biseonim!” Y/N replies, throwing their hand up to wave briefly. They stop at the desk and peer down at Seoyoon. “How was your weekend?”
“Really good, actually,” she chirps with raised brows and blue-contacted eyes aglitter. She moves her hands off her keyboard to prop herself up on her forearms. “He finally kissed me!” she whispers excitedly.
Y/N’s mouth drops open in happy surprise. “It’s about time!” they say, matching Seoyoon’s excitement.
Seoyoon leans back in her swivel chair. “Right?! I still feel so good.”
Y/N smiles, bringing the black coffee tumbler in their hand to their lips.
“I even slipped some soju in my tea,” Seoyoon murmurs, raising her eyebrows again and jerking her head toward the dainty cup in front of her computer.
Y/N swallows their coffee hard and shoots Seoyoon a disappointed look with pursed lips. “Park-biseonim… You know alcohol isn’t allowed on premises,” they remind her softly, friend to friend.
Seoyoon exhales. “I know; I know… Just this one time?”
Y/N pauses, examining the secretary’s face. How could they alert their superior when the sweet girl was just so happy about her boyfriend finally kissing her?
“All riiight,” Y/N replies, turning toward the main doors leading into the office. “Only because of that kiss.”
They smile again before disappearing through the windowed double doors and making their way to their corner office on the far end of the floor. Y/N greets their coworkers, waving at those already submerged in their work and bowing to their superiors. Odd, they think, the entire executive board is here today. Something must be happening.
Y/N gets themselves situated at their modern Plexiglas desk, powering on their huge monitor and turning on lamps here and there. As soon as the computer hums to life, a loud two-toned chime goes off, signaling a high-importance email.
Smoothing out their slacks as they sit on their swivel chair, Y/N opens the email, which was sent to the entire editorial department. Something is happening, indeed.
In it, the department’s director had written:
Good morning, team:
Please meet in the conference room at 8 today to join me in welcoming a new employee to our department. I have important news to share, as well.
~Choi Jaeho-jungyeok
Y/N glances at the time on the computer: 7:57 AM. Yeet! they mentally screamed, shooting out of their chair and bee-lining for the conference room, situated between the editorial and creative departments.
Bursting through the large room’s white double doors, Y/N is greeted by a small symphony of good morning!s and annyeonghaseyo!s, and they bow their head to everyone while walking around to the last open chair at the corner of the rectangular table. Some coworkers have pads of paper in front of them; many have cups of steaming liquid; and others simply have their cell phones lying out. There’s one unfamiliar person sitting directly across Y/N in the other corner seat, though, looking like a stone with their elbows on the chair’s arms, hands clasped, and with nothing in front of them.
As soon as Y/N sits down and scoots in, they glance up to find this man already gazing at them.
Oh my God, they think.
The man across from them is young, around their age or older, and he looks like an Olympian god. Plentiful, chocolate-brown hair frames his intense, dark eyes, and his full lips are slightly pressed together in the tiniest of smirks. He’s wearing a crisp, white button-up with a skinny, dark purple tie. The lanyard holding a small placard hanging over it reads, Im Changkyun and beneath it, Jungyeok, Pyeonjibguk.
We have two directors now? Y/N thinks to themselves. Is that Choi-jungyeok’s big news?
Im Changkyun is still watching Y/N, and normally in a situation like this, they’d break eye contact. But something about this guy has started sucking them in, and the enigmatic glow of his eyes is not helping.
Jaeho causes both of them to snap out of it, though. “Okay, everybody, let’s get started.”
Jaeho is a fortysomething man, gray hair peeking through at his temples and his youthful face looking strangely alight today. He’s not normally this smiley, either. Standing at the head of the table, he clutches a large mug of fragrant coffee.
“You all got my email, evidently, so thank you all for being here and on-time. I mentioned that I have news, and I don’t intend to beat around the bush, so with that being said, I will be resigning as jungyeok, effective next Monday.”
A gaggle of gasps, what?!s, and nooo!s sounds from around the table.
“Order, order!” Jaeho dramatically raises his free hand like a judge, grinning at his joke. “I have been offered a wonderful opportunity on the other side of the city, and I spent a long time thinking it over, so this wasn’t an easy decision.”
He pauses to gulp some of his coffee, pocketing his other hand. “Many of you have already noticed the new face among us, and he’s here today to get acquainted with his new team, as he will be replacing me.”
Several of the surrounding executives collectively respond with an excited, “OH-ohhhhh.” No one seems really upset by this news, and even Im Changkyun has broken into a sheepish smile.
Y/N observes Mr. Im in the moment, noticing his sharp cheekbones and thick brows. His lips look the most tantalizing, totally full on the bottom with a perfectly curved Cupid’s bow above. They recognize a pair of silver hoops on his lobes, specifically from Cartier’s Love collection—ironically, the same design as Y/N’s gold ring on their thumb. Without realizing it, they emit a small hm in their amusement.
When Mr. Im glances at Y/N, they stiffen and immediately angle themselves toward Jaeho again.
“I have been training this employee both off-site and after-hours for the past week now because I, admittedly, wasn’t sure how you all would take the news. So I wanted to train him away from prying eyes,” Jaeho explains, occasionally looking down at the table. “For the next week, though, he’ll be in-house, sharing my office with me—’cause it’s really his now—and familiarizing himself with everyone as well as how you all work together. This is the last leg of onboarding for him and the last leg of Phenomenon Publishing for me. I’m very excited for both my and his future.”
Jaeho drinks more of his coffee and steps around his chair, pushing it in and resting his free hand on top. “I’d like everyone to get back to doing their magic now, and your new jungyeok will spend the day going around meeting everyone. Thanks, guys.”
And with that, Jaeho exits the conference room.
Everyone sits around for a moment, processing their director’s words, but more so trying to figure out if they should say something to Mr. Im, who’s still in the room.
Mr. Im speaks up, sitting upright in his chair. “Annyeonghaseyo, everyone. I want to make my introduction to you all a little more personal, so instead of doing it here and hiding with Choi-jungyeok the rest of the day, I’m going to spend a little time with each of you today. I don’t just want to know your name and role; I want to learn a little about you guys too because we’ll be working closely from now on. I hope to fill the jungyeok’s shoes, quite honestly,” he finishes with a deep chuckle.
Im Changkyun’s voice is like hot blood sliding down Y/N’s skin: unsettlingly appealing, deep, magnetic, and velvety. They gulp hard, fidgeting with their gold ring under the table as Mr. Im speaks.
Y/N’s coworkers rise from their seats, formally bowing to their new boss and making hush-hush conversation amongst themselves as they filter out of the brightly lit room. Y/N is the last to follow the crowd out, and as they send one last furtive glance toward Mr. Im while approaching the double doors, he turns to meet their curious eyes and raises an eyebrow.
Stunned at their unusually brazen behavior, Y/N nods politely before ducking out and speed-walking back to their office. They close the door a little too hard but only because they’re desperate to sit down and catch their breath.
What is happening to me, they think, drinking their own iced coffee.
Y/N spends the rest of their day immersed in their editing tasks, working diligently to keep their mind from dwelling on God himself and how heart-stopping-attractive he is, how entrancing his voice is. They respond to emails as normal, reference the same books as normal, listen to the same low-fi playlist as normal, field interns’ questions as they take turns knocking on Y/N’s door as normal, and they even spend their lunch hour in the cozy break room.
Im Changkyun is nowhere to be seen, and by the time 4 PM rolls around, the last hour of the workday, Y/N had calmed down. In fact, they’d had a spurt of productivity after lunch and were able to finish editing two of the larger manuscripts that’d been stressing them the past few weeks.
Y/N even debated taking off the last hour to quietly read at their desk instead of emailing the finished documents for Choi-jungyeok to skim over, as he gives final approval before the company convenes with the respective authors again. But that’s never been Y/N’s style, breaking rules. They were there to work—“do their magic,” as Jaeho had put it, and that’s how they’d spend the remainder of the day.
Wrong.
The all-glass door to their office swings open, and God himself walks in, plopping down in the small loveseat on the right side of Y/N’s desk.
“I saved you specifically for last,” he says, leaning back in the chair and freezing his eyes on Y/N’s.
They pause for a second before cannonballing into the unknown. “I figured.”

The flower
*My first post and the first time I’m sending a story out into the public domain.*
In the pearly light of dawn the neem tree sits unruffled. The blooms are yellow, the leaves green and stark against the lightening colours of the sky. All is still. The streetlights start to go out one by one. A dog barks somewhere, as the sun starts to creep into the arms of the clouds. A blush forms on the cheek of the sky, in the pale rosy pink of new day. The cacophony comes now, of birds, loud, raucous. A simpering Myna is heard from the Guava tree, accompanied by a throaty bulbul. A murder starts its hoarse shrieking, and the pigeons nestled on the telephone line start cooing. From the main road, the taxis  start sputtering their exhaust fumes into the crisp morning air with the rumbling of rusted engines. The newspaper boy starts his rounds, the thump of newspapers being flung coming ever closer. The sun climbs higher. In a sudden burst of light the first of the rays breaks through the clouds and bathes the restless world beneath it in a soft light.
The man turns on his side. His eyes are open, but unfocused. The breeze through the window makes the curtains flutter. He stirs. An unassuming character, with salt and pepper hair, and a thin, lined face. The flat behind the closed door of his bedroom is silent, cold, and lifeless. The calendar on his wall reads Monday. He rises, sitting at the edge of his bed, eyes downcast, feet firmly planted on the cold  floor. Slowly, ever so slowly, his feet seek his slippers and he stands. The doorbell rings, and the bedroom door is wrenched open. With a deliberate stride towards the front door, it is opened in due course, the maid is ushered in.
The bathroom door closes, and the sound of the shower can be heard across the flat. The maid cleans the flat and makes breakfast. The man is dressed for work. A white collared shirt, grey trousers, a tan belt, and tan shoes. Perhaps his socks are interesting, perhaps not. He eats his breakfast, reading the newspaper. The maid leaves, without a word. The newspaper is folded, the plate dropped in the sink and the man leaves. The door shuts, the lock clicks, echoing into the silent flat. A clock ticks. The furniture creaks, once.
A quick glance around the flat tells one nothing. The walls are white, the furniture is standard wood or cane, and old. Inherited, perhaps. No paintings adorn the walls, and the curtains are monochrome blue cotton. Only On closer observation does one notice slight personal touches. The Sunday edition is opened on its crossword page on the writing desk. There are books, detective stories, littered about the flat, all dog-eared. The one on his bedside table is a battered old copy, with coffee stains.
It seems so very out of place, almost preposterous in its existence, in this impersonal abode. Resting on the shoe rack , in a tall glass, is a single tulip. He had no vase. The flower was an unwelcome intruder. What was to be done? Offered by the boy from downstairs, with a gap-toothed seven-year old smile, he had to take it. It was given a glass, and was relegated to the shoe rack. It is three days old now and bloomed the day it was plucked. A startling pink, it seems to be impressed on the back of the eyelid as one blinks. The yellow  stamen is stark against this pink. The green of the stem, twists artfully into the glass, where its bottom half is distorted in the water. It is lovely, lovelier than anything in that flat, decadent its beauty.
The summer heat presses down on the world. The sun that was so timid at the coming of dawn, is now harsh, unforgiving in its white-hot glare. The flower droops, somewhat, but it exudes an intoxicating perfume, that coats the air around it. There is no-one to see the graceful droop of its head, nor smell the scent it gives the world. Perhaps, with insolence, at being treated in such a manner, a petal drops. It lands on the floor, and it feels as though the world has stopped in its track. A kind of horror is palpable in the dense, hot summer air. The wind starts blowing viciously, and the windows shudder in their frames. A draft makes the flower sway in a manner that can only be described as graceful, and despondent.
The man returns home, at night. He rushes into his room, changes, and eats the food his maid had prepared in the morning. He retires, and is asleep in minutes.  The flat is dark, untouched, in this routine existence. The flower is bathed in the moonlight. Its five petals have turned slightly brown at the tips. It looks defeated.
The next morning, when she sweeps, the maid notices the petal on the floor. She sweeps it up, and looks at the flower. There is a bitterness in her eyes, and a kind of reverent awe. She seems to be biting her tongue today, looking at him in quick glances. His eyes are trained on the Tuesday edition. She leaves, and he barely notices. His departure to work is swift. As the door thuds closed, one more petal falls. Outside, there is cacophony. Inside, it is deathly still. A fly lands beside the fallen petal, and stays for a while. And then, he flies away, out into the heat and bustle of the city.
Four petals remain on the tulip. The next morning, the maid does not hesitate when sweeping up the petal. The day after, two more petals fall. They are cleaned away. No trace exists of them. The flower still looks beautiful, retaining just two petals. Vivid pink, tinged a little brown and still splendid.
It is a Friday, and a single petal remains on the tulip. It holds itself there steadfastly. The departure draws closer, until, finally, the man leaves and the day passes. As night approaches, the flower seems to be losing hope. It droops morosely, and the petal looks fragile. It is not ugly, but it is not beautiful. It simply waits.
He returns. His eyes are bloodshot, his head is reeling. He mutters savagely. Striding up and down the apartment, his hands grip his head, and he turns sharply on his heel, coming face to face with the flower. He gasps, and walks towards it. What happened to it, he wonders. There is a childlike confusion, written across his face. The confusion is replaced by horror, as a draft blows through the apartment. He catches the petal as it falls. It is wrinkled, brown and pink in his hand. A crushing sense of despair pervades the otherwise serene night. He gazes intently at the petal for a few precious moments before he gently, lets it go. It drifts to the floor and rests there, sad, and dead. A single tear drops beside it. They lay there, side by side, the tear and the petal, on the marble, in the still of the night.

Part 8
Death x OC Office AU
“What’s that on your neck?” Neema asked, jumping down the last step of the stairs leading to the school. I frowned and ran my fingers over my neck, uncertain of what she meant. She shook her head and pointed to the left side of my neck. “It looks all red.” I slapped my palm over the mark, blushing brightly. The memory of Death biting my neck played on a loop in my head and I silently cursed; was it noticeable to anyone else? Had everyone seen it and just didn’t say anything? The thought was mortifying.
“It’s nothing,” I said quickly. “Just a rash.” She placed her hands on her hips and tilted her head, giving me an unbelieving look. “It’s nothing, I swear.”
“Mhm… Then why are you covering it like that?” I bit the inside of my cheek and lowered my hand slowly, hoping it wasn’t anything she could figure out. She got on her tiptoes and tried to get a closer look but I pushed her away, turning so she couldn’t see it.
“Look, I have ten minutes before I’m supposed to be back at work, so let’s go.” Neema rolled her eyes and we started away from the school, heading home.
“You know you don’t have to pick me up,” she muttered. “I can get home just fine on my own.”
“I know that,” I replied, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “But I wanted to walk you home today.” That wasn’t a complete lie, right? I did want to walk her home, the main reason being that I was afraid of seeing Death or Amber right now. I was worried if he saw me, he’d ignore me or tell me that what I did was unacceptable. Maybe he’d even fire me, I didn’t know. I was terrified to see Amber because… well, she always managed to keep Strife away and if she could do that, I didn’t even want to think of what she’d do to me.
It wasn’t that I thought she was into him, but she seemed to have a lot of respect and care for him, like a friend. If she thought I was using him, there was no doubt in my mind that she’d snap me in two.
We crossed the street and Neema moved out from my grasp and wrapped her arms around one of mine, resting her head against my shoulder. “I know you’re bullshitting, but that’s alright. I’m just happy you’re not upset with me.” I frowned and looked down at her, petting her hair.
“Why would I be mad at you, Neem? You haven’t done anything wrong.”
“I know, but you were upset the other night and I wasn’t sure if you were angry with me or not.” I scoffed and shook my head.
“Never. I was just being a bitch because of my hangover and what happened at the party. I’m sorry I made you feel like I was upset with you.” She squeezed my arm and I smiled, kissing the top of her head. We reached the apartments a few minutes later and I gave her a big hug. “I love you and you haven’t upset me at all, promise.” She squeezed back tightly, burying her face in my neck.
“Okay, I was just nervous. I love you too, ZiZi.” We split apart and I waited until she was inside before I started back for the office, rubbing my hands against my sides. It was starting to get too cold out. Halloween was just around the corner and winter was coming with it. Pretty soon I’d start working later, too. Just another week or so and Nora would be heading out as soon as I came in.
It was nerve-wracking to think about working all by myself, without her help or guidance. I was getting a better grip on how everything operated, and I was probably fine without her, but there was still a lot of fear of messing up or getting booted before my three month trial run was up. My stomach churned at the thought of reaching the three months and not retaining my position. I’d screwed up so much these past few weeks that it was hard for me to imagine keeping my job, but damn if I didn’t want it badly. I liked where I worked, I didn’t want to lose that. I had to strap on my big girl shoes and stop acting like I was ungrateful for my opportunity.
I hurried inside once I reached the large black skyscraper, rubbing my hands together as I was hit with a gust of warmth. Thank God. I hurried back to my station and plopped down into my seat, sighing with relief. Nora smiled at me and turned in her chair, legs crossed.
“Cold outside?” she joked. I looked at her and nodded hard.
“Very. I’m gonna have to invest in a nice coat for this winter,” I answered, teeth still chattering. I rubbed my arms and leaned back in my seat, letting out a cold breath. “Anything happen while I was gone?” She shrugged and grabbed a few packages from under the desk.
“These came in for Shelly and Jenna. They need to be delivered.” I sighed and nodded, taking them from her hand.
“I guess I’ll be delivering these, then.”
She nodded. “Oh, and Amber stopped by for a minute, looking for you.” My heart went into my throat. I gripped the packages tightly, my fingers turning a pale brown, almost white.
“Really?” I chewed on the inside of my cheek. “What did she want?”
“I don’t know. She just asked where you were and told me to give you that.” She gestured to an envelope on the table that I hadn’t noticed before. I swallowed, finding it hard to do even that, and picked it up. The envelope shook in my hands and I carefully opened it, pulling out the small note inside.
Please come back after your shift
It wasn’t Amber’s handwriting; I had seen her signature before. Is it Death’s? The warmth I’d started to earn back instantly drained again. This is it; I’m done. He’s gonna fire me for kissing him, right? No workplace romances or some shit like that. I forced the terrible thoughts down as Nora gazed at me with worry.
“Sweetheart, are you okay?” she asked gently, lightly touching my arm. I put on the best smile I could muster up and nodded, attempting to act nonchalant about the whole thing.
“Yeah, I’m good,” I lied, shoving the note back into the envelope. I stuck it into my purse and zipped the bag up, kicking it back under the desk. “I just have to go see Death again after my shift ends.” Her lips formed a frown.
“Is something wrong?” I shook my head quickly.
“No, nothing’s wrong, promise.” I picked up the two packages and stood. “I’ll be right back, gonna go deliver these real quick.” She nodded hesitantly, obviously skeptical of my answer. I wasn’t the worst liar in the world, but I certainly wasn’t the best. I gave her a thumbs up and headed to the fourth floor, clutching the parcels tightly to my chest. I closed my eyes and took deep, calming breaths.
Stop thinking of the worst-case scenarios, damn it. Maybe he just wants to clear the air and doesn’t want you to think that there’s something else between you? Or you left something in his office and he wants to give it back? I snorted at that scenario. If I’d left something in there, he’d have had Amber bring it down, or even delivered it himself. Not everything has to be terrible. I physically shook myself off when the elevator dinged, the doors opening up.
The fourth floor was the best, in my opinion. Everyone was talking and joking while also doing their work. There were pictures of families and funny memes on everybody’s desks, accompanied by trinkets and toys like bobble-heads and Funko Pops. I smiled as I stepped out and headed down the rows of desks, saying hi to everyone that greeted me. It was amazing that anyone got any work done with as much chatter and laughter there was. Nora told me that the fourth floor was one of the best when it came to getting stuff done. It was probably because of how kind and pleasant the atmosphere was.
I couldn’t imagine what Death’s reaction to the commotion would be if he had to work down here. I chuckled to myself, picturing an ever-increasing look of annoyance and anger on his face. Yep, he’d absolutely hate it. This was probably more Strife’s style. I reached the end of the aisles and greeted Shelly as I reached her cubicle. She looked at me and smiled, giving me a small wave.
“Hey, Aziza,” she greeted back. “I’m guessing you have something for me?”
“That I do.” I handed her one of the packages and her smile widened, her bright hazel eyes shimmering with excitement. She tucked some neon yellow strands behind her ear and tore open the packaging, squealing happily when she pulled out a small box. I cocked my head a little and smiled, arching a brow. “Do I even want to know?”
“I’ve been waiting for this from the South Office for almost two weeks now.” South Office was Strife’s building. I stared at her, waiting for her to continue explaining, but she never did. Her smile fell a little. “Sorry, it’s top secret so I can’t really tell you what it is.” I nodded and shrugged.
“Well, it made you happy so it must be something good.” Her smile grew again and she nodded furiously, her bangs bouncing against her forehead. I said goodbye to her and went back to the elevator, heading up a few floors. I wonder what top secret stuff she had delivered? Was there a mole in the company or something? Was someone embezzling? Oh, oh, maybe she has to dig up dirt about a competitive company and had to enlist Strife’s office for help and-
The elevator dinged again and I jumped, yanked out of my thoughts. There you go again with your extravagant thoughts. I smiled to myself and shook my head, stepping out into the ninth floor. Up here, there was no personality to be had. Everyone was quiet and typing away on their computers, a few people talking on their company phones. There were barely any pictures and absolutely no bobbles to be seen. It was the type of floor I was sure Death wanted them all to be.
I wonder if he assigns people to the floor he thinks they’d fit in best? It didn’t entirely make sense, seeing as the fourth floor was IT and the ninth floor handled accounting and finance, but it was strange how everyone on each floor had the same energy; no one felt out of place. I made my way to Jenna’s cubicle and knocked on the desk. She whipped around and looked at me, unamused.
“What?” she asked, rubbing the side of her head. “I’m pretty busy here.” I held up the package and shook it lightly. She took it from me and sighed, tossing it on the desk. I leaned against the cubicle wall and arched a brow, looking between her and the package. She took off her thin rimmed glasses and cleaned the lenses, looking at me again when she put them back on. A vein in her forehead was starting to jut out.
“What? Something else?” I shrugged.
“Just curious; what were you expecting?” I asked. She scoffed at me almost dramatically, and rolled her eyes.
“How the hell did HR let you slip past them? There’s no way your application should’ve been on the boss’s desk at all. Incompetent, nosy-”
“Sticks and stones, Jenna, sticks and stones.” She clenched her jaw, blue eyes narrowing at me. She pointed towards the elevator and jerked her head in its direction.
“Scram, before I report you.”
“For what?” I scoffed, pushing away from the wall.
“For anything I want, just go!” I had the urge to stick my middle finger up at her, but I suppressed it and gave her a sickeningly sweet smile instead.
“Fine, I’ll leave,” I said politely. “Call me when you manage to get that broom handle out of your ass.” I flipped around as she gasped and went back to the elevator, resisting the urge to run back and break her jaw. We hadn’t gotten along the first time Nora had introduced us, and I had a feeling we were never going to. I smashed the lobby button and shook my head, gripping the railing tightly. The last thing I’d wanted was to deal with some uppity bitch. She’d probably love to see me fired.
The doors opened up a few moments later and I shoved away from the railing, storming out. I went back to my seat and fell into it, rubbing my temples. They were starting to throb lightly. Probably because of all the stress, I thought.
“I take it Jenna was in a mood,” Nora asked. I looked up at her, frowning.
“I wanted to punch her in her throat.”
Nora laughed.

CROPS, POLLINATION, FOOD: WHY WE NEED BEES
33% of the world's yields need fertilization to set seeds and natural products, and a dominant part of them are pollinated by honey bees. Alongside different pollinators, honey bees are as of now endangered by human action. There is a worldwide decrease in the honey bee population, because of reasons like over the top utilization of bug sprays, living space misfortune, natural surroundings fracture, honey bee irritations and illnesses, and environmental change.
So as to bring issues to light about their basic job in supportable turn of events, the United Nations has proclaimed May 20 as World Bee Day.
There are almost 25,000 types of honey bees: 70-80% of the world's yields/plants are pollinated by wild honey bees while 15-20% are pollinated by honeybees. These pollinators additionally give a significant biological system administration that is basic for supporting the wild greenery biodiversity. For instance, if there should arise an occurrence of pigeonpea, Apis mellifera, A. dorsata, An indica (Pathak, 1970), Megachile spp. (Williams, 1977; Zeng-Hong et al. 2011), and Xylocopa spp. (Onim, 1981) are significant sources of normal cross-pollination.
Impact of honey bee fertilization on crop
It builds seed yield and natural product yield in numerous harvests.
It improves the nature of foods grown from the ground.
Honey bee pollination builds the oil substance of seeds in a sunflower.

Hide & Seek with Red Venom
We lived in a Textile mill staff accommodation in early 90's, this quaters was located in backside of the textile warehouse and just before the railway track. This living quaters was built during 1930's, close to 20+acre property with only 12 houses located - each house was built with 1500 / 2000 sqft. All building wastes are placed in one end of the property, kids had huge space for them to play all their sports, you can see birds of a feather flock together, elders used to go for a walking at one end with 15-20 neem  trees waving throughout - exact dream location for any 80's / 90's kids to live through their life. This place is very close to nature with forest like environment and reptiles visit too often to play with you.
My school going experience was also as exiting as my stay in that staff quaters, school bus arrive at 7.15 and i need to be there in the pick point before 5 minutes but i always be there at the nth minute to stop my school bus. My Bus driver always yell at me for stopping the bus in the mid of the road, sometimes my dad used to chase with bicycle and help me board the bus.
Day before my half-yearly exam, i was getting ready for school and as usual, i was late. My grand mother & Mom were going crazy as i was delaying, my dad was already left for the day to office and i have to go on my own to the pick-up point along with my friends. I was about to leave the house, took all my belongings, worn my shoe and started from house. After 200 meters walk i smell a rat, felt some discomfort inside my shoe, i stamped twice and started walking. At one point it was paining like bolt from the blue, started kicking my boots, rolling on the street and screaming as it was paining like a hell. Every one gathered around, some know persons on the street made me sat on a chair, understood what happened and slowly removed my shoe to check if anything inside but to everyone surprise nothing found inside the shoe. Most of them started talking that i am crying wolf and i cried crocodile tears to bunk my school, mean time my parents arrived to the spot by hearing the incident. When tried knocking my socks off, they found this Eight legs, curve over the back segmented tail with venomous stinger - A 8-9 mm "RED SCORPION" was under my foot hanging on my socks. Still half alive and getting ready to hit the next stoke.
It was found half dead as i stamped already and the job completed by others, put it on a white polythene cover and they gave it to my parents to show it to the doctor. My dad was driving like cats & dogs on the road to the nearby hospital, by looking at the venom doctor gave me first aid and I was asked to take to the hospital inside the city in next 15 min. Exact 15th minute I was inside the emergency ward, treatment has started, too much of puking, x-rays, doctors running around and the last scene I remember was – I was in my dad hand and he is running to the Xray room then I woke up 2 days after the incident. Yes you are right – I was unconscious for 2 days and I got to know that doctors had given me 24 hours timeline and no assurance that I will open my eyes again. I was hospitalized for 21 days and treatment went on for 8 months - It is my 2nd life what I am living now :)
LESSON LEARNT with such a painful EXPERIENCE not only to me but also to my environs.
PN: Hilarious hospital experiences to be continued in next blog
