Meet the Teak Persian Cat Family đ
Released around 2015 for JP and 2016 for EU/US. They are the 2nd of 3 persian cat families to be introduced into the sylvanian world.
Not pictured are twins Nel & Ned, and a baby sister Bonnie. The extra mom figure is an exclusive from the Boutique shop set (2016). There are also additional outfit figures for the sister; one with a makeup set, ballerina, and Christmas.
Bios:
FATHER ARTHUR TEAK just loves collecting furniture and his favourite carpet is the centrepiece of the beautiful Teak Family living room. Arthur canât help but collect pretty bric-a-brac and antique furniture, from teacups to vases. He has a particular soft spot for carpets as there are so many wonderful designs!
MOTHER CECILIA TEAK, sometimes affectionately called âBoâ, loves designing dresses so much that she opened her own boutique with her sister-in-law. She has a wonderfully large wardrobe and is always encouraging little Nora to borrow her clothes and accessories, although Nora is not quite grown up enough for them to fit her yet! From fabric to frills, Cecilia loves all things fashion and fun!
BROTHER FELIX TEAK is known around Sylvania for being incredibly kind; but shhhh⊠donât tell anyone that heâs afraid of heights. You couldnât ask for a better friend than Felix Teak. Popular with the Sylvanian girls because he has such as warm heart, Felix has a knack for picking out the perfect gifts for friends and family because heâs always listening when they say what they like. Heâs not keen on climbing trees though because he starts to get wobbly when he looks down at how far heâs climbed.
SISTER NORA TEAKÂ is pretty-in-pink and rather good at doing make-up and making her friends look extra nice. She thinks that her mother is the most beautiful of them all, and often picks out a dress because she thinks that her mother would like it. Sheâs got plenty of tips for applying make-up from her mum and is constantly trying out new fun looks. She loves to look at her motherâs clothes and canât wait to work in the boutique one day designing her own creations.
BABY SISTER BONNIE TEAKÂ is a bit like a magpie because shiny things are always catching her eye. This could be anything from a pretty candle to some tasty looking jelly beans. But she likes to hold onto these treasures and watch them for hours, sometimes holding them in her paw. Unfortunately chocolate melts and she often gets mucky from holding too tight onto her sparkly treasures. Poor little dear!
TWIN BABIES NEL & NED TEAKÂ are cute as can be, and while Nel can be a bit of a fussy eater, Ned is a grumpy little baby with a talent for making a mess. If little Nel gets given something she doesnât like to eat she wonât take a single bite, but if itâs one of her favourites, sheâll make sure she gets second helpings. Ned can be a little bit grumpy and he often makes his mother sad by getting her dresses dirty with his mucky paws. Mother Cecilia has even started wearing an apron even when itâs not dinnertime just in case he gets some mud or tomato sauce on her! Oh no!

to bad lady stoneheart will crown arya in robbâs crown leading her to be queen of the north at least sansa can enjoy her life with her two timing husband in the vale đ
Top 10 Funniest Ship Girl Foreshadowing
10. Gendry's very important question.
He looked dubious. "Did you ever sail a boat?" "You put up the sail," she said, "and the wind pushes it." "What if the wind is blowing the wrong way?" "Then there's oars to row." - Arya II, ASOS
9. Excellent names!
I mean to use your second son as well. He will take Lady Marya across the narrow sea, to Braavos and the other Free Cities, to deliver other letters to the men who rule there. - Davos I, ACOK
x
"Just so. Your father was oarmaster on a galley. When your mother died, he took you off to sea with him. Then he died as well, and his captain had no use for you, so he put you off the ship in Braavos. And what was the name of the ship?" "Nymeria," she said at once. - Arya II, AFFC
8. Hey, what's with this Stark they keep telling us about.
That's a Brandon, the tall one with the dreamy face, he was Brandon the Shipwright, because he loved the sea. His tomb is empty. He tried to sail west across the Sunset Sea and was never seen again. - Bran VII, AGOT
x
It was Bran's turn to tell a story, so he told them about another Brandon Stark, the one called Brandon the Shipwright, who had sailed off beyond the Sunset Sea. - Bran III, ASOS
7. Arya spells it out.
Only Braavosi were permitted use of the Purple Harbor, from the Drowned Town and the Sealord's Palace; ships from her sister cities and the rest of the wide world had to use the Ragman's Harbor, a poorer, rougher, dirtier port than the Purple. It was noisier as well, as sailors and traders from half a hundred lands crowded its wharves and alleys, mingling with those who served and preyed on them. Cat liked it best of any place in Braavos. She liked the noise and the strange smells, and seeing what ships had come in on the evening tide and what ships had departed. She liked the sailors too; the boisterous Tyroshi with their booming voices and dyed whiskers; the fair-haired Lyseni, always trying to niggle down her prices; the squat, hairy sailors from the Port of Ibben, growling curses in low, raspy voices. Her favorites were the Summer Islanders, with their skins as smooth and dark as teak. They wore feathered cloaks of red and green and yellow, and the tall masts and white sails of their swan ships were magnificent. - Cat of the Canals, AFFC
6. Arya spells it out again.
Arya bit her lip. She had crossed the narrow sea to get here, but if the captain had asked she would have told him she wanted to stay aboard the Titanâs Daughter. Salty was too small to man an oar, she knew that now, but she could learn to splice ropes and reef the sails and steer a course across the great salt seas. Denyo had taken her up to the crowâs nest once, and she hadnât been afraid at all, though the deck had seemed a tiny thing below her. I can do sums too, and keep a cabin neat. - Arya I, AFFC
5. Arya spells it out one more time. (Plus one more, because she's so generous!)
It made her think of the sea. Maybe that was the way out. Old Nan used to tell stories of boys who stowed away on trading galleys and sailed off into all kinds of adventures. Maybe Arya could do that too. - Arya V, AGOT
x
"It wonât be so bad, Sansa," Arya said. "We're going to sail on a galley. It will be an adventure - Sansa III, AGOT
4. Ned Stark makes a bizarre prediction about the future of one of his children.
"No," Ned said. He saw no use in lying to her. "Yet someday he may be the lord of a great holdfast and sit on the king's council. He might raise castles like Brandon the Builder, or sail a ship across the Sunset Sea, or enter your motherâs Faith and become the High Septon." - Eddard II, AGOT
3. An entire fandom forgets what made Nymeria famous.
He sang of Jonquil and Florian, of Prince Aemon the Dragonknight and his love for his brother's queen, of Nymeria's ten thousand ships. - Sansa VI, ACOK
x
He had not noticed that before, no more than he had noticed the picture on the tapestry, a scene of Nymeria and her ten thousand ships. - The Soiled Knight, AFFC
x
That is Nymeria's star, burning bright, and that milky band behind her, those are ten thousand ships. - The Queenmaker, AFFC
2. They could be like Nymeria, and sail beyond the Sunset Sea.
Lord Gylbert began to speak. He told of a wondrous land beyond the Sunset Sea, a land without winter or want, where death had no dominion. "Make me your king, and I shall lead you there," he cried. "We will build ten thousand ships as Nymeria once did and take sail with all our people to the land beyond the sunset. There every man shall be a king and every wife a queen." - The Drowned Man, AFFC
A marriage is arranged between Arya and Elmar. El mar. The sea.
"Also, if your sister Arya is returned to us safely, it is agreed that she will marry Lord Walder's youngest son, Elmar, when the two of them come of age." - Catelyn IX, AGOT

They Always Come Round
In memory of the Glorious 25th of May, the third installment in my Discworld ficlet series. Here on AO3.
Reg Shoe, in his grave.
(Part I is here: Vetinari and his city.)
(Part II is here: Ned Coates and his memories of Keel.)
âREADY?â
âNot yet. But thanks all the same.â
âYOUâRE WELCOME. I WILL RETURN.â
âPlease do. It just wouldnât be the same without you.â
âBEFORE I LEAVE. A QUESTION?â
That was the first time Death had decided to ask Reg a question.
The rest of the ritual had been running like clockwork for a couple of decades, if not more, since for some reason being dead messed with your sense of time and memory better than a hangover. The same lilacs, the same seven graves, and a nice fresh coffin every year, for a quick lie-in before going back on duty. The same voice booming in Regâs ears usually around half an hour after getting into the coffin, which would just be sufficient for a minute of silence in honor of the Republic of Treacle Mine Road, and getting through most of the set of pamphlets that served Reg as a pillow. Reg could read just fine in the dark, another aspect of zombiedom perpetually glossed over in favor of an entirely wrong interpretation of the culinary practices.
âSure,â Reg shrugged. He figured he owed Death more than a few answers by now.
âWHY?â
âWhy I get myself buried every year? Solidarity, I suppose. You see, some of us never got to get out of their graves.â
âI UNDERSTAND. I WAS THERE. WHY DO YOU ALWAYS BRING THESE PAPERS INTO YOUR COFFIN?â
The unspoken question quietly sidled aside, trying to hide behind the more sonorous vowels.
A newsletter or two, a stack of newly printed pamphlets for the recently undeceased, or otherwise differently alive, and a small device that was supposed to be quite useful, should one need to break through the top of a coffin. Reg figured heâd give it a try, though heâs always been terrible at mechanics. That said, times were moving on, Ankh-Morporkâs economy was improving, which meant higher wages and imports of that nice reddish teak from Tsort, almost as hard as bronze and all the rage in funeral processions. And suddenly the supportive messages on the inside of the coffin lid didnât cut it.
Fortunately, Reg knew a sympathetic student, who had always been better at engineering than at spells and came from a family with a zombie in every generation, so it was in his best interest to design a straightforward, highly patentable, and unreasonably expensive method to get out of the coffin.
Reg did his best to explain all this to Death, though he wasnât sure about the economy part. Somehow, Death seemed a bit above such concerns, though perhaps it was just very successfully feigned disinterest.
The other question, the unspoken one â
If Reg had working lungs, he wouldâve taken a deep breath, and perhaps, let out a sigh of the self-deprecating, heroically suffering variety that was quite popular in the novels Reg used to read by the dozen in the old days. Now he only winced a little.
âWhy do I bother with what? Campaigning for the differently alive? Easier than revolutions on the wear and tear of this body, I really donât know how many more crossbow bolts I could take at once these days.â
âDO YOU NOT GET TIRED?â
âUsed to say Iâd sleep when I was dead. Apparently the dead donât need sleep. Not that it should be understood as an invitation to keep me on a night shift! In fact, that would be downright discriminatory. I already told that to the commander, though I doubt he has much of an idea of which shift Iâm on, anyway.â
âDO YOU NOT WISH TO STOP?â
Death had never been this inquisitive before. Pox on him and his persistence! Though of course he was probably immune to it. A flask of deadly microbes was his favorite dessert or something.
Reg didnât even talk about it with his closest friends. Though, on second thought, not that he had manyâŠor any, apart from the Watch. And clearly none of them was sharing his coffin, while Death was here, which, in a confusing manner, kind of entitled him to Regâs inner life.
âYou see, every generation needs a young, naĂŻve, long-haired revolutionary playing a guitar on the barricades,â Reg began, suddenly struck with a distinct impression of incredulity in a pair of eye sockets.
âAPOLOGIES. YOU LOST ME. WHO WOULD THAT BE?â
âMe? Who else? In a⊠spiritual sense, of course. Strictly spiritual. The revolutionary needs to die, so that the revolution might live. Well, I messed up both of them. At least now they can look at me and think, still the same pathetic Reg, with his slogans.â
âDO YOU WANT THEM TO?â
âOh, yes, I do. It helps them feel worldly. Cynical, even. I can provide the contrast. And then, somehow, they do buy the pamphlets, in the end, even if they are very clear that they do it out of pity and the pamphlets will only end up in the fireplace.â
âDOES IT ACHIEVE ANYTHING? THEY STILL CALL YOU UNDEAD.â
âOf course they do! And they wouldnât even think of adopting the new term. But have you noticed how many differentially alive we have in the Watch alone? Before this campaign, the number was exactly zero.â
âI BELIEVE I AM LEARNING ABOUT PREVARICATION.â
âFrom me? Iâm a genuine revolutionary. As genuine as, as Carrot is a genuine, whatever it is that he is these days. Sergeant, I suppose.â
Reg had mostly been staying out of Carrotâs way, unobtrusively enough to never get sent on patrol together. He had been afraid of listening to Carrot too carefully, one day, and noticing a shadow behind that honest face.
And all the while, in years punctuated by lilacs and laws and celebrations and cruelty, the people still needed leaders, they needed preachers, and policemen, such as they were, and criminals, for how else could they be sure that they were not criminals, well, unless they actually were, which was mostly determined by a license. They needed the ruthless tyrants and the fervent revolutionaries in equal measures, so that they could get on with their lifes, reassured that there would be someone just foolish enough to try pushing the city a little if it ground to the stop. There was a reason Reg was never particularly eloquent in his tirades against the Patrician.
Reg tried explaining all that too, thought probably got even less far than with the economy part.
âIT MUST TAKE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE TO BE SO NAĂVE.â
Reg shrugged in response. It was a noncommittal shrug, a shrug that said, we all understand each other and there is absolutely nothing else to be discussed. Back to the grindstone for Reg, it said, time to call for truth and justice and freedom that nobody will ever see, and let the commanders have their eggs and eat them.
âItâs tomorrow already,â he said. âYou can keep the lilac.â

Fic: Jon of the Kingsguard, pt 3
Jon x Sansa - AU where Jon goes to Kingslanding instead of the Wall, thereâs no war, and he becomes a knight of the kingsguard even as Joffrey marries Sansa / AO3 Link
It happens suddenly. One moment King Robert is a laughing, roaring mountain of flesh, and the next his heart gives out and all that flesh had gone slack. All the court but for his lady wife mourns him. If Cersei feels any sorrow in her lord husbandâs passing it never reaches her face, but Jon cannot bring himself to blame her for it. He has never forgotten what Robert let happen on the Kingsroad and Jon has been too many years at court to think the fat man any but a poor sort of king. Still a chill shivers through him when he hears the news.
âHeâll dismiss you as Hand,â Jon says without preamble when he finds his father in the tower of the Hand. âThe moment heâs crowned Joffrey will send us back north.â
âIt is his right.â Ned says wearily, the chain of interlocking hands hanging from his neck clinking softly. His few years in Kingâs Landing have aged him more than all those in Winterfell, beard streaked with grey. âThe king chooses the hand.â
Somehow, Jon thought his father would resist the loss of Handship. It makes him pause. âYou wonât fight it?â
Ned shakes his head. âJoffrey is our rightful king now, no matter what we think of him, Jon. And truth be told I am tired unto death of being Hand. I would see Winterfell again.â
Winterfell. For a moment it is all Jon can think of: the scent of weirwood and pine, the crunch of snow beneath feet and cold wind on his skin, the warmth of Winterfellâs hearth and the sight of Robb and Bran and Rickon striding forward to greet him. But he knows too what returning north would mean, and before his eyes flits again the sharp, fragile line of Sansaâs clenched jaw, the way her fingers had fisted in his sleeve on her wedding night. âArya and Sansa cannot come with us. One is betrothed and the other married.â
âThey are good matches. Sansa will be queen.â
âTo Joffrey.â The name is sour on Jonâs tongue. âYou know what he is, father.â
âHe is the rightful heir,â Ned says sharply, and Jon frowns at the sudden change in his voice. âAnd it is too late to change that, not without seeing the realm bleed. No, when his grace Joffrey demands it we will go north again and Arya and Sansa will stay in Kingslanding.â
âLet me stay too.â And suddenly Jon knows what he must do, the answer to why Ned brought him south with him all those years ago even if his father had not known it then. âName me a knight of the Kingsguard. Bastards have served before, and you have the power as Hand. No one will question your right to name a brother of the queenâs own blood.â
Ned frowns. âIt is no small thing to become a knight of the kingsguard, Jon. Till death you will serve, and for whoever holds the Iron Throne, no matter how little you may love him. It is not a decision to be made lightly or on a whim.â
âYou kept me from taking the oath of the Nightâs Watch once, but for what?â Jon draws himself up. âI will never inherit lands or hold titles. Not in the north, and not here. But there is honor in serving in the Kingsguard, even for a bastard.â
âEven for a bastard.â Ned studies his face. âYouâre sure?â
Till death you will serve. But Jon knows the answer, has always known it. I will never be a Stark but I can still do the duty of one, father. He nods, once and sharp. âYou must do it now, before he is crowned, while you still hold the power of Hand. Joffrey will never name me himself.â
Ned nods, something tired in his eyes. âI will speak to Selmy.â
Tyrion answers his door with a scowl, rubbing sleep from his eyes with the heel of his palm. He blinks when he sees Jon standing in the dark of the hallway outside his chamber. âSnow? I must admit if this is a dream Iâd prefer if you were rather more woman and rather less dressed.â
âYour whores.â The word grates Jonâs tongue, but it is the one that fits. There is no hiding your shame with pretty words, Snow. Half a hundred times heâd tossed and turned in his bed unable to find sleep, a shameful and restless energy grating his nerves until heâd thrown himself to his feet and dressed in the dark. Tall and forbidding the walls of the Red Keep had stared down as he slipped from his chamber, like he was a thief caught stealing through them. âWhere do you find them?â
The little man shrugs. âHere and there. When youâre a lordâs son, even one grotesque as I, they find you.â His mismatched eyes peer at Jon, a shrewd look in them. âWhy trouble yourself with it now?â
âI-â Tyrion is no more friend to Joffrey than Jon. The knowledge of his knighting is safe with him, but still Jon hesitates. This is the path youâve chosen. âTomorrow I join the kingsguard.â
Tyrion studies Jonâs face with his mismatched eyes, then abruptly grins. âWell Snow, it seems I must introduce you to Chataya then.â
It is not so late that Kingslanding is yet sleeping. Lanterns seethe like embers under the skin of the city as Jon and Tyrion ride through winding streets that lead them to an elegant two storied house. Its windows shine a deep purple and blue and crimson like a many faceted jewel peeking out from among the drab walls of the behind it. Its door is inlaid with writhing vines of bronze that flash in the lantern light as a tall woman with skin black as teak opens it before them. âLord of Lannister,â she says to Tyrion with a bow of her head. âAnd your squire?â
âOh no,â Tyrion claps a hand on Jonâs back, âthis is Lord Snow, soon to be Ser Snow of the kingsguard. Iâve brought him to taste what heâll be forswearing for a white cloak.â
âA noble cause.â If the knowledge surprises the woman she does not show it. She raises a hand to invite them inside, and Jon follows Tyrion into a common room lit by bronze lamps twisted and teased into ornate shapes. In their flicking light are scattered a half dozen girls more lovely than any Jon has ever seen, slender and curved forms reclining in cushioned alcoves. A knife of shame stabs Jonâs gut at the way lust rises in him like an ocean swell, and he jerks his gaze away.
âMarei will be ready for you shortly, my lord,â the tall woman says to Tyrion. She pours wine into a pair of copper goblets and passes them to Tyrion and Jon as she nods her head to one of the girls half hidden behind a Myrish screen. âMight I suggest Dancy for Lord Snow?â
âShe does have a wicked tongue,â Tyrion muses aloud, mismatched eyes sliding to Jon beside him. Jon flushes. The girl is beautiful, freckled and lushly curved, with long red hair brushed to a copper sheen that reaches to her hip. As if she can feel his eyes on her the girl glances up at him, a slow, wicked smile turning the corners of her lips. There is nothing of her but for the red of her hair that is like Sansa, yet her smile coils something sick in Jonâs gut, and for a moment he can again feel Sansaâs fingers tangling in his sleeve, the fragile weight of her in his arms, the way her eyes had pled with him.
Jon wrenches his gaze away. I am no Joffrey. He downs the goblet in a single swallow, tongue barely recognizing the smooth ripple that marks it as Arbor Gold. âNot her.â
âAlayaya then?â The tall woman beckons forward a girl teak black and near as tall as herself. The girl rises gracefully and crosses to them, dark eyes regarding Jon calmly for a moment before bending and kissing Tyrion on the cheek. âThank you again for the history you lent me, Lord Tyrion. A strange line the Durrandon kings.â
âAre they not?â Tywin smiles crookedly at her. âBut for now your thought should be to Lord Snow here. Heâs come to make himself a man.â
The young woman meets Jonâs eyes. She takes his cup and gently pulls him towards a stair off the common room. âCome my lord, I will refill your cup.â
Jon lets himself be pulled away, the Arbor Gold warm in his chest as Alayaya leads him up the stairs and to a modest room with a silk veiled bed and a mural on the wall of a pair of women caught in the throes of release. Her fingers slip from his palm as she moves to the sideboard and refills his cup.
âIâm no lord,â Jon says abruptly. He meets Alayayaâs gaze as she finishes refilling his cup. âThatâs only Tyrionâs jape. Iâm bastard born.â
âI am bastard too counted your Westorosi way.â Alayaya tilts her head to the side as she returns to where he stands. She hands him his cup. âMy father was a summer islander like my mother, a sailor passing through Kingslanding on his way to Braavos. But among my people there is no shame in bastard birth, for the gods made not only us but our desires too, and in that way we bastards are a gift of the gods.â
âIâve never felt a gift.â Jon laughs, the sound more hollow than he expected, and takes a long swallow. A fine vintage, but just as before his tongue catches little of it. He looks up to find Alayaya stepping closer. He swallows, finds his tongue thick. âI mean not to father a bastard tonight.â
âAnd I not to make one.â Alayaya smiles faintly, soft and lovely, and splays a hand on his chest. Her height makes it so all she must do is tilt her head to the side and then her lips are parting his, splayed fingers tangling in his shirt as she draws him beneath the canopy of the bed.
Jon does not last long. Alayaya stretches beside him after, lithe and dark in the lantern light as she traces faint circles across his chest and stomach, fingertips a whisper. And when those fingertips have again begun to coil a heat she slides down and takes him into her mouth, makes him as achingly hard as though heâd never spent his seed.
The second time Jon lasts longer. She sways above him, lantern light flickering along the curves of her arms and throat and dark tips of her breasts, hips grinding slow circles against him. She leans over him, arches against him, skin fever-hot, and then he can hold the growing pressure in him no longer. Alayaya seems to know without words, teeth nipping the hollow of his collarbone as she reaches down and pulls him from her, fingers milking his length as he spends into her hand.
âYou may stay, my lord,â she tells him after, as he gathers his breeches and shirt. She rolls onto her stomach, dark eyes shining up at him. âWe will speak or sleep and perhaps after a time lie together again.â
Jon shakes his head. Shame he expects the stab of, but instead all he feels is a marrow-deep calm. This is the path youâve chosen. This is what you will forsake. He pulls his shirt over his head. âTomorrow I am knighted.â
âSer Snow,â Alayaya sing-songs, tilting her head. âA good name. Come back to us when you have it and I or Dancy or Marei will moan it in your ear.â
âTomorrow too I take the oath of the kingsguard.â
âAnd?â Alayaya rolls to her side, stretches like some great languid cat, the curves of her sweet against the mattress in a way that even though he is twice spent makes Jon's groin ache. âCome all the same. You will not be the first of your white brothers to visit our house.â
All men are weak. Even his father had succumb to temptation once, but what worth is a knight who cannot keep his vows? For some reason again Sansaâs face floats before his eyes, and Jon shakes his head. âI mean to keep my vows. But⊠thank you. For this.â
Alayaya accepts with a dip of her head and a faint smile. âFare well, ser knight.â
AN:Â Just as a heads up, though she is one of my favorite side characters, this isnât going to be a Jon/Alayaya fic.

Inimesed pole just kĂ”ige nutikamad.
(kuna mul pole Ă”rna aimugi, mis hindadega Eestis hambaid parandatakse)
MĂ”ni postitus tagasi kirjutasin muusikast, mida siin kuulatakse. :D

Töö solarfarmisÂ
On raske. Igav.
..Well, well, well, tables have turned! Ma söön ĆĄokolaadi, nimelt KIT KATâi, mida ma jumaldan ja mis on olnud algusest peale ravim lihtsalt KĂIGELE!Â
Paha tuju - haara kit kat.
Peavalu - haara kit kat.
Nututuju - haara kit kat.
Magusaisu - haara kit kat.
Naerutuju - KIT KAT!
JÀÀtis on vaieldamatult parim maiustus!
â Wallamann falls, kuhu minekut ma kaks kuud ootasin.
:) Ujumas kĂ€isime me igalpool, ĂŒkskĂ”ik kas olime just 15 minutit tagasi eelnevas kohas tund aega vees sulistanud vĂ”i mitte.
â 500 aastat vana Wig tree, 15 meetrit kĂ”rge puu, kus sees mĂ”ni nĂ”iaella vabalt pesitseda salaja saaks. :D
â Milla Milla falls
â Ellinjaa falls
â Josephine falls, kus me ajataju tĂ€ielikult kaotasime ja ilmselt 4 tundi veetsime, sest sealt sai liugu lasta ja turnida, niiet sisemine 9 aastane Ă€rkas ellu ja lĂ€ks minna.Â
â Babinda Boulders, teisisĂ”nu ka The Devilâs pool. Legendi kopeerin siia inglise keeles, sest seda ĂŒmber tĂ”lkides kaoks osa mĂ”ttest.
According to legend a beautiful girl named Oolana, from the Yidinji people, married a respected elder from her tribe named Waroonoo. Shortly after their union another tribe moved into the area and a handsome young man came into her life. His name was Dyga and the pair soon fell in love. Realising the adulterous crime they were committing, the young lovers escaped their tribes and fled into the valleys. The elders captured them, but Oolana broke free from her captors and threw herself into the still waters of what is now known as Babinda Boulders, calling for Dyga to follow her. As Dyga hit the waters, her anguished cries for her lost lover turned the still waters into a rushing torrent and the land shook with sorrow. Huge boulders were scattered around the creek and the crying Oolana disappeared among them.
Aboriginal legend says her spirit still guards the boulders and that her calls for her lost lover can still be heard.
RÀÀgitakse, et tÀnapÀeval hukkub seal pidevalt mehi.. Oolana??

Safe Haven
Requested will not say who for protection of there privacy
Leng an island in the middle of the Jade Sea on the continents of Essos also known as the beautiful city you called home. You were tall and slender. You had the soft skin of oil teak and large golden eyes. You radiated beauty and superiority much like the Lengii people that surrounded you. Your family was a wealthy one well used to wealthy. Now due to your mother, father, and older brother and sister's lavish expensive lifestyle your family was drowning in debt. Your family sold things but having an addiction to purchasing new more luxurious items only worsened the overwhelming debt. A lord from Kingslanding in Westeros had visited your powerful beautiful island. Your family had hosted him and privately asked how to fix their big issue. Petyr Baelish was the master of coin for Robert Baratheon the king of seven kingdoms so your parents figured he would be able to help. He studied you and offered your parents debt plus some for you. You parents had no choice but to accept. Next thing you knew you were on a ship heading to the capital. You arrived in kingslanding and were shoved into a building with a bunch of hardly dressed woman. Petyr Baelish had his other employees teach you the art of pleasure for a year before you were given your first client. You begged the man not to make you give your purity to some stranger but he demanded you to. Your heart was racing and your palms were sweaty. Your heart was in your stomach that had tightened into knots and your knees were weak. Your breath was shallow and quick. You mine was swirling with thoughts making you dizzy as you heard two pairs of heavy footsteps approaching the sensually designed room. You heard the familiar voice of your employer and it caused chills to ascend up your back. You were nervous and terrified. You saw the thin red sheet move to the side revealing your master of sorts and a brunette with blue eyes. He was gorgeous you would not lie but seeing him made you painfully aware of how little you truly were wearing and what you were about to take part in. You looked straight at him with worried and terrified eyes.
Eddard Stark had sent Theon to the capital to collect some boys the king sent to serve The Warden Of The North's army. Theon had growled wasn't this Jory's job. Theon had picked the group up from the keep and escorted them to the camp. The young boy had grown sexually frustrated not having even seen a woman nude in over a fortnight. He decided to take some coins and trail back to the brothel before his journey back to the frozen wasteland of Winterfell. "Hey you where is the brothel," The greyjoy demanded one of the older boys? "Petyr Baelish has a nice one up about a liege away from the keep," He answered. Theon muttered thanks and took off until he found the simple building. He entered the enormous lavishly decorated house. His eyes scanned the room looking at all the beautiful scantily dressed woman and other men that were occupying them. His nose picks up the familiar smell of sex and sweat. His ears pick up the yells, the moans, and the groans. A man he read to be the owner of the establishment walked over to him. "What can we interest you in I have quite the selection of both woman and men," The master of coin asked with a friendly smile. "I want the most expensive woman you have to offer," Theon requested. "Well I have just the right one but she is quite pricey fifty gold coins should pay for a few hours," The owner of the brothel says. "Here," The greyjoy says handing him the fee. The man smiled before leading him through the building. "She is simply stunning she is tall and slender with oil teak skin and golden eyes you are also her first client her first man or woman period," The man continued to sell her as he leads. In the very back was a room closed off by a thin red curtain. Theon studied the girl she was ravishing but you can see she was anxious, scared, maybe even horrified. It pained Theon to see any woman in such a state but something was killing Theon seeing this particular woman so hurt. "Enjoy," The older man announces before leaving. The greyjoy approached her and with every step, he saw her tense more and more. The Ward sat down softly trying not to startle her but his softness did not stop her from flinching. "My name is Theon what is yours," The only surviving son of Balon Greyjoy introduces.
You heard him whisper his introduction. "Y/N Y/L/N," You answer craning your head from looking down to look at him. "Are you okay you seem upset," The young man asked comfortingly placing his calloused hand on your back rubbing your exposed back in small circles. "I do not wish for this," You choke. "You do not wish to be with me," He clarifies. "Now well yes well not exactly I don't want to be here I wish to be with my friends and my family in Leng not here I do not want to be a whore to pleasure men and woman for no profit I did not cause my families debt yet I have to pay it back but they just keep spending and furthering it I am going to have to do this the rest of my life and they have no problems with it," You sob to the stranger. He moved his hand from your back and wrapped his arm around the back of your neck. He pulled you loosely into his side and wiped your tears before gripping your right hand with his right arm. "Tell me what is a matter slowly so I can understand," The Kraken commands. "I am from Leng it is a island in the middle of the Jade Sea on Essos My family they are buried in debt and addicted to spending more Lord Baelish offered a high wage for me plus my wages I would have earned I have been here a year it wasn't as bad as I though it would be until today when Peter said I would have my first client I am sorry Theon you paid for a woman to please you and all I have done is cry Petyr will not be happy," You began to sobb into his side wetting his tunnic with your tears.
Theon held your shaking figure as you cried. He couldn't leave you here you were practically a slave. Lord Stark may not have allowed him to keep you to Winterfell but he would think of the details later. "Come with me I know that it is a scary idea but I promise I will never touch or hurt you I will protect you I know you are not happy nor safe here I also know we do not know each other but I wish to see you happy and safe so come with me," Theon offered. The shock seized your crying. "Theon," You gasped looking into his eyes all you saw was honesty. "Yes but we have to leave now Petyr will not be happy his investment fell through," You rush. The Greyjoy helped you pack your few things you owned before helping you run away from your painful past.
You had escaped that horrid life three years ago. Theon had taken you to Winterfell where he was a ward for Lord Eddard Stark the Warden of the North and Lord of Winterfell. Ned Stark at first was angry but when you sat there with Theon, Lady Catelyn Stark, and Lord Stark and explained everything to them they gave you meat and mead, a place to stay, and a job as a maid. Theon and you had fallen in love on your travels and about a year after you moved into the castle Theon admitted his feelings six moon later you were engaged and by two years you were married. A few moons later you became pregnant with your son Theon of House Greyjoy second of his name now you were pregnant with another child. You life had changed drastically in a little over four years. But you could not be happier you had a beautiful incredible family truly amazing friends.
You were pulled out of your thought when you felt a pair of strong arms wrap around you and a pair of warm lips press a kiss to your exposed shoulder. "Hello wife," He whispered. "Well hello husband," Your great with a smile. "Where is our little Kraken," He asked? "Robb stole you away from us for a long time it is very late our little Kraken is sound asleep," You answer. "How is our little one," He asked? "Stubborn like the babe's father," You answer jokingly. "How about my love how is she," He asked? "Well love," You start turning in his arms so you were facing him. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he kept his around your waist. "I missed my husband but I was good it was a relaxing day me and baby Kraken had a lot of time to think," You answered. "About," He asked? "How different everything was five years ago how much better everything is now," You answer. "The north was your safe haven," He agreed. "No Theon Greyjoy you are my safe haven," You reply pressing your soft lips against his as he pulled you against him.
Message to requester
I hope you like it. If not I can 1. redo it 2. (if you tell me what parts you don't like) rewrite certain parts or 3. make something else. If it is not detailed enough tell me and I will add more details. If you would rather a better writer write this just tell me and I will remove it. Your feedback is greatly appreciated whether it is good or bad. I really hope you like it. I really enjoyed writing this so thanks for the request.

Enkel at afspille

NedCan wedding rings
Google probably thinks Iâm getting married. Actually Iâm looking up engagement/wedding ring options for my OTP.Â
Did you know you can get engagement/wedding rings made with maple/teak/ash/oak wood inlaid in the band? (Any wood of your choice actually, but itâs better to choose a durable wood of course and the ring will require some care). Antlers can also be used as material. Also, there is a wood called âtulipwoodâ, and they make rings out of it.Â
Did you know that Canada produces diamonds? Theyâre mined in the Northwest Territories. Canât figure out any equivalent for the gems in the Netherlands (the closest is that Antwerp, Belgium is an international hub for buying diamonds but eh...the connotations of that are dark, considering how they must have become that hub).
APH Netherlandsâ âbirthdayâ - April 27 (of course his fâking birthstone would be the diamond, the most expensive one, but also the most durable)
APH Canadaâs âbirthdayâ - July 1 (Ruby...how perfect)
I mean come on! Thereâs a wedding band that looks like the Dutch flag and is made with TULIPwood! (Thereâs another similar band that has a titanium border)
- Meteorite, Tulipwood (!!!!), and Blue Box Elder Burl on a Titanium Band (for Ned of course)
Find it here
Rest of the rings under the cut
How about a Maple wood and Antler band for Canada?
Even the ring box is perfect!
Spalted Maple and Antler band on titanium band Found here
Another similar one:
Elk Antler and Spalted Maple
Itâs not quite the Canadian flag but....
Titanium, Elk Antler and Padauk Wood
This one for either/both of them (teak or maplewood/ inlaid with rubies for Canada)
With more of a redwood instead for Canada, but teak works for Ned, and if he feels like being expensive, then with his birthstones.
Teak Wood Titanium Ring with white Sapphires
I like the simplicity of this one, but still unique/stylish
Meteorite with tulipwood inlay on Titanium
And thatâs enough. If I donât stop now, I never will.

Koh Lanta is the perfect Thai island for us. Itâs not too developed or crowded but has enough facilities to live comfortably.
We love the laid-back atmosphere, long empty beaches, jungle-covered mountains, and spectacular sunsets. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do in Koh Lanta and thereâs accommodation for all budgets.
Weâve visited three times and have spent over five months on the island in total. Itâs the ideal island for both holiday makers and digital nomads.
Our Koh Lanta guide shares all our tips including the best things to do and places to eat, where to stay, and how to get there. It also includes a video so you can see for yourself why we love this beautiful island so much.
This post was originally published in 2012 and was most recently updated in 2019 after our latest visit.
The Best Things To Do in Koh Lanta
Tour the Island by Scooter
We do love zipping around on a moped and Koh Lanta is a great place for it (much easier than the crazy roads on Koh Jum or in the busy cities).
Koh Lanta is quite a large island (27 km long) so having your own transport makes it easy to explore. The roads are mostly paved (although with plenty of potholes), there is no traffic, and itâs hard to get lost when thereâs only one road that goes around the island and a couple that cut across it.
If you rent a moped youâll be able to explore many of our Koh Lanta itinerary suggestions below, but itâs also just fun to drive around enjoying the views and stopping off at quiet beaches.
If you donât want to hire a motorbike, you could rent a car (much more expensive) or bicycle (but be prepared for the heat and big hills in the south). You could also take a local taxiâa tuk-tuk with a sidecar attached to a motorbike, but this will be more expensive.Â
If you rent a motorbike make sure your travel insurance covers you as accidents do happen. We recommend True Traveller (for UK/EU residents) and World Nomads (worldwide). Both of these are available if you are already travelling, so if you forgot to buy insurance before you left home, thereâs still time to buy a policy.Â
Read our Koh Lanta scooter post for tips on learning to drive and renting a bike.Â
Take a Walk on Long Beach
Long Beach (Pra-Ae) is the longest and one of the most attractive beaches on Koh Lanta. Itâs in the north of the island and is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action as there are plenty of restaurants and a wide range of accommodationâsee our post on the best Koh Lanta hotels for recommendations.Â
The golden sand is backed by casuarina trees and the warm clear water is perfect for swimming. It never gets too busy as thereâs plenty of space for everyone. We love walking here at sunset.Â
Just south of Long Beach you can find the lovely small bays Relax Bay and Lanta Secret Beach (also known as Beautiful Beach).Â
Secret Beach
Laze on Koh Lantaâs Southern Beaches
Kantiang Bay
Koh Lanta beaches get quieter and even more beautiful the further south you go along the west coast.
Our favourites for day trips are at the very southâKantiang Bay, Waterfall Bay (Ao Klong Jark) and Bamboo Bay (Ao Mai Pai). You can combine a trip to Waterfall Bay with a hike to the nearby waterfall.
Bamboo Bay, Koh Lanta
Explore Koh Lanta National Park
Beach at Koh Lanta National Park
For another beautiful empty beach keep driving even further south until you reach the end of the road at Koh Lantaâs National Park. Thereâs a 200 baht ($5.20) entrance fee, but you can then hike trails, visit the lighthouse, and relax on the beach.
Just watch out for the monkeys thoughâSimon got attacked by one that was trying to get into our bag in search of food. And please donât feed the monkeys and encourage this kind of behaviour.
If you do get scratched or bitten by a monkey (or dog) youâll need to get a rabies vaccination straight away and then four more at intervals over the following month.
Stroll Around Koh Lanta Old Town
Lanta Old Town
The west coast is where all the beaches are, but we also enjoy visiting the less developed east coast over the lush green mountains.
Itâs quiet and peaceful here with a few small settlements of simple bamboo huts and the historic Old Townâa village of teak stilted houses overlooking the sea.
There are only a few shops and restaurants so it wonât take long to explore, but it makes a good break from the beaches.
Island Hop on the 4 Island Boat Tour
Kayaking at Koh Ngai
One of our favourite Koh Lanta activities was taking a day trip to visit the Trang Islands with Freedom Adventures. We spent the day snorkelling, kayaking, and island hopping around the gorgeous limestone islands.
Our snorkelling spot Koh Maa
The highlight of the 4 island tour was definitely visiting the Emerald Cave. Swimming through the cave the water really did glow emerald green before it became pitch black. When we reached the other end of the cave we emerged into the sunlight to find a hidden white sandy beach surrounded by limestone cliffs. Weâve never visited anywhere like it.
Emerald Cave
There are many boat trips to choose from, but we chose Freedom Adventures because their boat is large and comfortable (with a toilet), they limit groups to 16 people (there were only 4 of us in low season), and they bring kayaks. Our guide Ned was friendly and helpful and we had a hot Thai lunch cooked aboard the boat.
A full day boat trip with Freedom Adventures costs 1600 baht ($51) per person including pick up/drop off from your hotel, lunch, fruit, water, soft drinks, kayaks, snorkelling gear and national marine park fees.
The 4 islands are closed from June to September.Â
Snorkel at Koh RokÂ
Snorkelling at Koh Rok
Another beautiful day trip from Koh Lanta is to Koh Rok. Freedom Adventures doesnât offer group trips to Koh Rok so we had to charter the entire boat, but as there were six of us this worked out to be only slightly more expensive than taking one of the group speedboat trips.
When we got to Koh Rok and saw how crowded the speedboats were, even at the end of the season, we were happy with our decision as we had plenty of space to spread out and we got to visit quieter spots.
The Koh Rok trips focus on snorkelling as itâs known to have some of the best snorkelling in the area. It took us about two hours to get to Koh Rok, but as we had plenty of space to relax, either undercover or on the sunny roof deck, this wasnât a problem.
During the day we had plenty of time at three different snorkelling spots, lunch onboard the boat, and time to relax on a private beach away from the other tour groups.
Simon kayaking at the empty beach we stopped at
It was a true beach paradise with soft white sand and crystal clear turquoise water. You can do camping trips to Koh Rok and it would be amazing to have this undeveloped island to yourself.
The snorkelling was decent, but as youâd expect, not as good as the dive trip to Koh Haa we did from Koh Lanta. We still enjoyed exploring the underwater world and saw plenty of life including titan triggerfish, Moorish idols, false clownfish, and parrotfish.
If you only have time for one boat trip, Iâd choose the Four Island trip to see the stunning Emerald Cave, but Koh Rok is also worth it.
Again we recommend Freedom Adventures for the more spacious boat and their ability to avoid the crowds. Our only issue on this trip was that considering half of us were vegetarian or vegan there wasnât quite enough vegetarian food.
A private day boat charter to Koh Rok with Freedom Adventures costs 10,000 THB ($320) for 1-2 people or 13,000 THB ($417) for 3-6 people. A Koh Rok trip on one of the crowded speedboats costs about 1700 THB ($54) per person.Â
Go Scuba Diving
Our dive spot at Koh Haa
Although Koh Lanta isnât as well known a diving destination at Koh Phi Phi or Koh Tao, it has some of the best dive sites in Thailand and made the perfect place for us to get back underwater after four years without diving.
After our brief refresher course we did two dives at Koh Haa. The visibility was an incredible 30 metres and we were able to fully appreciate the thousands of colourful fish and vibrant corals.
A highlight was swimming up through a narrow cavern known as The Chimney. Itâs really a magical world underwater and weâd definitely recommend giving scuba diving a try.
Read more about our dive trip with Scubafish.

Watch the Sunset
Watching the sunset is a must do on Koh Lanta. Weâve seen some truly spectacular sunsets on the island and made sunset walks along the beach a daily routine. Khlong Dao, Long Beach, and Khlong Nin are all fantastic places to watch the sun go down.Â
Practice at Oasis Yoga
Oasis Yoga is the perfect yoga studio. Classes take place in a stilted wooden treehouse in a lush tropical garden with the sea in front and the jungle-covered mountains behind. The sounds of the waves and chirping birds helped me calm my mind and hold the most difficult poses, and I always came away ultra relaxed.
Farra and Kate opened the studio in 2013 and have since expanded it to include lovely bungalows and an excellent cafe. Â
Farra is originally from Oklahoma and has a wonderful soothing voice and positive attitude. Sheâs down to earth and encouraging, giving you the option of more challenging poses but reminding you to listen to your body and takes breaks if you need to.
There are usually two to three classes a day. The Flow class is the most energetic, but Farra gives options for all ability levels. Chill Flow is slower and stretchier and Yin is very gentle with deep stretches that you hold for 3-5 minutesâitâs as much about calming the mind and being still as it is about stretching.Â
Oasis Yoga is my favourite yoga studio in the world. I highly recommend it whether you are completely new to yoga or an experienced yogi.
Classes cost 400 baht ($13) or there are various passes available. See the Oasis Yoga website for the latest schedule. They close from mid-May to end of September.Â
Take a Cooking Class
We didnât take a Koh Lanta cooking class as weâd already done one in Chiang Mai, but we recommend taking a class during your trip to Thailand. Itâs a great opportunity to spend the day eating (a lot!) and learn more about Thai food.
Beachfront Koh Lanta cooking class.
Get a Massage
We arenât massage fans so we didnât get one on Koh Lanta, but if you are then youâll want to take advantage of Thailandâs excellent value massages.
Our friends Jenny and Tom recommend Serenity Spa in the main village Saladan. Itâs not the cheapest place but it has a pleasant ambience and after your treatment they provide tea and fruit for you to enjoy on their deck overlooking the sea.
Walk Dogs at Lanta Animal WelfareÂ
If you are wondering what to do in Koh Lanta on a rainy day, animal lovers can visit the non-profit Lanta Animal Welfare to meet the rescued cats and dogs and even take the dogs for a walk. Thereâs also a vegan cafe.Â
Be a Trash Hero
Rubbish washing up on the beaches is a big problem during the rainy season on Koh Lanta. Help out by joining one of the Sunday beach cleanups run by Trash Hero Koh Lanta. Itâs amazing the difference two hours can make.
Koh Lanta Video
Take a video tour of some of Koh Lantaâs highlights to see why we love it. It features the national park, many beaches, Khlong Dao Monday market, and a boat trip to Koh Rok.
 Koh Lanta Accommodation
Pimalai Resort
See my post on where to stay in Koh Lanta for a detailed comparison of the different beaches and reviews of accommodation from budget bungalows to luxury resorts.Â
All Koh Lantaâs beaches are on the west coast so most visitors stay in one of the beach villages here.
If you want to be closer to the ferry in Saladan and near lots of restaurants, I recommend staying on Khlong Dao or Long Beach.
For more of a get away from it all feel head further south to Khlong Nin (in the middle of the island) or Kantiang Bay.
The most remote hotel is LaLanta Hideaway Resort on quiet Bamboo Bay.Â
We often take advantage of huge low season discounts and stay in luxury resorts. Our favourites are Pimalai Resort at Kantiang Bay (the most luxurious), Rawi Warin at Khlong Nin (the best value), and Layana Resort on Long Beach (the quietest as itâs adults only).Â
The Best Koh Lanta Restaurants
We didnât find the food on Koh Lanta as good or as inexpensive as in Chiang Mai, but things have improved over the years and there are some excellent options.Â
These are the best restaurants on Koh Lanta we found. Most are on the western side of the island and we generally found the quality better on the road rather than on the beach. All these places have vegetarian options.
Khlong Dao
Time for Lime
Oasis Yoga Bungalows
Veggie tacos at Oasis Yoga Bungalows
The Oasis Kitchen is my favourite place for lunch on Koh Lanta and I often went here after classes at the excellent yoga studio. They make some of the best Western food on the island including breakfasts and delicious veggie tacos and bean burgers. They have excellent kombucha and smoothies too. It closes in low season.
Bajen Pizzeria
Good thin crust pizzas and they have a reliable delivery service so itâs very convenient.
Two Scoops Gelato
Tasty creamy gelato in interesting flavours and delicious cakes. They change daily but we loved the banoffee pie, red velvet cake, and apple crumbleâIâm a huge crumble fan and was amazed to find it so well done in Thailand.
They have air conditioning so itâs a great place to cool off. The Khlong Dao branch closes in the low season, but the one in Old Town stays open. You can also find their ice cream at various restaurants on the island like Happy Veggie, Malee Highlands Bistro, and Escape Cafe.Â
Long Beach
Red Snapper
Tapas at Red Snapper
Red Snapper serves tasty fusion tapas and is the best restaurant on Koh Lanta.
There are plenty of vegetarian options on the creative menu, which changes regularly. We enjoyed everything we tried including cheese and jalapeño croquettes, roast vegetables in a sun-dried tomato sauce, chickpea, jalapeño and orange salad, and the tasty bread with garlic butter and olives.
Yawee
Yawee is a simple, friendly Thai restaurant serving delicious food at low prices. There are a few things that make them stand out from similar restaurantsâthere are over two pages of vegetarian options, they provide free iced drinking water, they use metal straws instead of plastic ones, and when you say you want spicy, they believe you!
The massaman curry and the fried red curry with tofu were both delicious. The tofu is deep fried and much tastier than elsewhere on the island.
Itâs open every day including in the low season.
Mayâs Kitchen
Pad thai with penang curry
Mayâs Kitchen is another friendly restaurant with consistently good food. There arenât many vegetarian dishes on the menu, but they understand the concept and are happy to do vegetarian versions of everything, so just ask.
We loved the fried yellow curry with vegetables and the pad thai with penang curry. Our friends raved about the Thai grilled beef salad and they even asked for a vegan version made with mushrooms which they said was fantastic.
Happy Veggie
Tofu satay and samosas at Happy Veggie
This vegetarian restaurant has a large menu of meat-free international and Thai dishes. The food is a little more creative than the typical restaurant and they use red rice. We particularly like the startersâthe vegetable samosas and tofu satay. The veggie burger and stir fry were also tasty. It stays open all year.
Fruit Tree Coffee Shop
This cute cafe is our favourite on Koh Lanta. The owner is very friendly and makes some of the best coffee on the island. Their cakes are delicious (especially the passionfruit cheesecake) and they have vegan options and bliss balls.
Other items are probiotic honey lemonade, smoothies, salad specials for lunch, and excellent breakfast/brunch dishes including pancakes, waffles, avocado toast, and beetroot hummus on toast.
They also sell homemade granola, peanut butter, and coconut oil.
Escape Cafe
Itâs unusual to find a cafe that does quality coffee right on the beach. Escape Cafe has comfortable seating and platforms right on the sand so you can enjoy the view while enjoying a frappe or Two Scoops ice-cream.
Le Colibri
A French restaurant that does good pizza and wine.
Irie
Banana flower salad
At the north end of Long Beach, Irie is a good option for vegetarians as everything can be made with tofu and they have some creative vegan salads like banana flower, wing bean, and cashew. We also liked their western salad with sunflower seeds and feta and their tasty spicy potato wedges.
Khlong Nin
French Bakery
Simonâs favourite pizza on the island. They also sell good baguettes and croissants.
Shanti Shanti
Caramelised apple and cinnamon crepe
Shanti Shanti is a cute French cafe with good coffee, crepes (the caramelised apple and cinnamon was so good) and homemade ice creams including interesting flavours like chai. They close in low season.
Kantiang Bay
Drunken Sailors
Tom Yam Vegetable Noodle soup at Drunken Sailors
Drunken Sailors is one of those rare places that manages to do both excellent Western and Thai food. The tom yum vegetable noodle soup, vegetable samosas, Tex Mex veggie burger, and passionfruit shakes are all delicious. Itâs also a good place for breakfast and proper coffee.Â
We appreciated that they donât tone the spice down for tourists (although you can ask them to if you want), and that you can order everything vegetarian or vegan. All the Thai dishes are packed full of veggies and you can choose to add meat as an optional extra.
The service is great, the atmosphere relaxed with hammock chairs and beanbags, and thereâs WiFi and books to browse or exchange.
East Coast
Baja Taco
Refried bean tacos at Baja Taco
Itâs worth heading over to the East Coast to a quiet location beyond Old Town for the best Mexican food on the island. This rustic restaurant overlooks the water (there are kayaks to rent) and has a small menu of surprisingly delicious tacos and nachos.
There are meat fillings as well as the vegetarian options of refried beans (very tasty), mushrooms, or tofu. Tacos come with three very good homemade salsas. The margaritas are good too.
Afterwards head to Old Town for a wander and an ice-cream at Two Scoops (the branch here stays open in low season).
Self Catering on Koh Lanta
We usually stay in apartments and villas on Koh Lanta with access to a kitchen.
For Western food like cheese, muesli, bread, and pasta we shop at Lanta Mart in Saladan. Everything else we buy from Mai Yod Market, a vegetable shop in Saladan with a big selection of vegetables, fruit, fresh noodles, tofu and rice.
There are also markets on various days around the island where you can pick up fresh fruit and vegetables. Itâs in Saladan on Saturdays and Khlong Dao on Mondays. Pick up a copy of the free Lanta Pocket Guide when you arrive to check the times.
Koh Lanta for Digital Nomads
Koh Lanta has become one of the most popular Thai islands for digital nomads since the co-working space KoHub opened at Long Beach.Â
We havenât tried KoHub ourselves, but it looks great with fast fibre optic WiFi and a garden work space as well as air-conditioned rooms. Itâs a good option if you want to meet other digital nomads as there are regular social events.Â
The staff can help you find long-term accommodation and motorbike rental. They also offer all-inclusive packages including co-working, accommodation, and two meals a day.Â
Thereâs plenty of affordable accommodation on the island, but apartments with kitchens are usually quite expensive. On our last three-month visit we stayed at Malee Highlands on a hill above Khlong Daoâthe stylish apartments have fibre internet and are a good deal in low season.Â
Airbnb does have some longer-term accommodation options, but itâs not as cheap as on Koh Phangan. It will be cheaper to find somewhere once you arrive on the island (ideally before high season starts) by asking locals and posting in Facebook groups like Koh Lanta Info.Â
How To Get to Koh Lanta
Getting to Koh Lanta is fairly easy. Most people arrive on the island from Krabi on the mainland which you can reach by bus, train or plane.
AirAsia runs cheap flights from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur and Scoot has direct flights from Singapore. Search on Kiwi to find the best deals.Â
Krabi Airport to Koh Lanta
The nearest airport to Koh Lanta is Krabi International Airport (KBV). From Krabi you can take the ferry or shared minibus (350 baht) to Koh Lanta. Both take about two hours (longer if you are staying in the far south of the island).
The minibus is more convenient than the ferry as they drop you off at your hotel. They are quite cramped and hot if you sit at the back though (the A/C didnât reach us very well). You can book minibus tickets at the airport when you arrive.Â
You could also get a private taxi (around 2500 baht), which would be a good option if you have a lot of luggage or have just arrived after a long flight. We did this on our most recent visit and it was much faster and more comfortable.Â
Koh Lipe to Koh Lanta
You can also travel to/from Koh Lanta by ferry to other islands in the Andaman Sea.
We took the ferry from Langkawi, Malaysia to Koh Lipe, Thailand (2 hours, 135 MYR/ $42), spent the night there (although it is possible to continue on), and then took the Tigerline ferry from Koh Lipe to Koh Lanta (5 hours, 1530 baht/ $47) which was an easy and comfortable, if expensive way to travel.
Ferries to other islands donât run in the rainy season.Â
Phuket to Koh Lanta
You can take a two-hour ferry from Phuket to Koh Lanta that stops at Koh Phi Phi on the way (one hour from Koh Lanta). Ferries depart Koh Lanta at 15:00 and cost 1500 baht.Â
When To Visit Koh Lanta
The high season on Koh Lanta is from November to March and this is when most people visit. The weather is dry and warm and the beaches look their best with calm water for swimming. Prices are at their highest (especially over Christmas) and there are more people around, but it never gets too crowded.Â
The rainy season (or green season as itâs known here) is from May to September. Itâs very quiet and youâll find empty beaches and some hotels and restaurants close. Hotels reduce their rates by 50% or more. Some ferries and tours donât run.Â
The weather is mixed. Although there are days when it rains all day, it can also go weeks without raining (or just the odd shower at night). The sea is rougher at this time of year and lots of rubbish washes up on the sand.
April and October are shoulder months. Weâve visited three times in April and think itâs the perfect monthânot too much rain and the beaches look good, but prices start to drop in the middle of the month. It is particularly hot before the rain arrives though.Â
Koh Lanta Map
Explore More Thai Islands
Koh Jum â A quiet island an hour by ferry from Koh Lanta.Â
Koh Mak â A quiet island closer to Bangkok.Â
Koh Phangan â Known for its full moon parties, but it is possible to escape the crowds and itâs great for digital nomads.Â
Koh Lanta is our favourite island in Thailand and weâll be returning next time weâre in Asia. If you are looking for a relaxing Thai island away from the party scene but not too remote, then we highly recommend Koh Lanta.
