last we've seen of Team Gideon (this is Team Gideon, Team Harrow is coming and going from the river rn), mercygirl had decimated dr reverend emperor john

popped him like a piñata

mercygirl and augustine start talking about how everything's gonna go directly to shit now without the guy, since the houses existed because of him, etc.

they have some sort of hope on finding somewhere they can go stay at, maybe

they hug and augustine says something like he wants to be buried beside her, so they can hate each other eternally

I love what they've got going on tbh they're soulmates in hate, new form of eternal bond just dropped

gideon the first is about to tell them something, but they're interrupted by light

gideon starts describing that red dust becomes blood and then becomes body things and I'm like "nonononononono"

BUT I'M NOT THAT LUCKY

GUESS WHO'S BACK

DOCTOR REVEREND EMPEROR JOHN IS NOT DEAD

packing back all my celebratory party supplies

so he immediately murders mercygirl upon returning

rip girl, you really tried and that's more than I can say for a lot of people

who are in this room rn

emperor asshat takes mercy's robe from her body and puts it on

he says "hope the sixth house didn't get cooked in the flare"

"I never like cleaning house all at once, but it seems as though I have to, don't I ?"

so...is this a frequent thing? killing all your lyctors? replacing them with others by making them slurp their cavaliers once in a while? acting like there's no other way around it?

the emperor does that asshole thing

he starts asking them if they'll be loyal to him and, if they say no, he's gonna kill them

all very democratic and whatnot

apparently beasts can't kill him and he was acting afraid, in case you needed more reasons to hate him and whatnot

he calls gideon the first "gideon episode one", so that's also a genetic trait, aside from the eyes

gideon the first says he's gonna be loyal

gideon the first is taking things very calmly, but we'll see what's going on with that in a sec

also, the emperor asked gideon the first to kill harrow

because he's still buying numbers for the ass-kicking raffle I've got going on

it isn't at all a surprise, not just because another addition to the silver platter of bullshit he has done, at this point, doesn't really change much, but also because he was not doing anything about the harrow-aimed violence at any point, so

gideon (ours) goes "go to hell, pops"

he's bummed about gideon the first "killing" wake and is going to spare gideon's life, even if she doesn't want to be loyal to him

yandere twin pledges loyalty (we'll come back to this later)

and augustine goes "fuck you, john"

those aren't his words but that's what I heard in my head when I read it

then, the entire emperor's bolthole starts tilting to the side and in goes the whole thing into the river

at this point, I was remembering that the emperor mentioned there was a layer in the river, in the cylinder schematics mercygirl had drawn, in which he was powerless

so I was hoping and wishing for this to be the plan

gideon the first takes our gideon, trying to save her from the whole river situation, since she isn't a necro and there's not much she can do about it

so, since the emperor's bolthole went straight into the river, they've entered with their whole body, soul and etc.

fully dressed in flesh

gideon the first goes "wish he'd given me the packet"

???????

augustine and the emperor are wrestling homoerotically into the river

with yandere twin trailing behind them

so gideon asks gideon Sr to do something, since he's a necromancer

and gideon Sr says he isn't actually gideon Sr....

IT'S PYRRHA THE CAVALIER

turns out gideon Sr died in the fight against the beast

battle he was fighting with "mad sweetheart matthias"

pyrrha has been living in gideon Sr this whole time, kinda like gideon and harrow, but with less finesse

and pyrrha ALSO had an affair with wake using gideon Sr's body

but there's no time to unpack the insane amount of luggage gideon is gaining from this whole encounter with her entire family tree

because augustine's plan was indeed to throw the emperor into the bit of river he can't defend himself in

but the entrance looks a bit like this thing from inuyasha, only that's a lot bigger

augustine and the emperor are still homoerotically pulling each other on their way down to the mouth, that's extending tongues to lick at them

it's probably a familiar scenario for them, only in a bigger scale

gideon and pyrrha are trying to decide if they wanna die by a bullet, by this whole thing that's going on in here or in the river

according to pyrrha, gideon's mom would have taken the bullet

but not gideon

gideon is gonna see this thing through, dammit

she's also having an existential crisis the size of the emperor's bolthole because life was simple before, it was just harrow and the dusty ninth, and now there's a family tree, she's a child of multiple divorces and she was born to blow up

so, gideon sees that yandere twin is close to augustine and dr rev emperor john, which means she can probably help augustine out and push the emperor in

for the timeline that I'm still somewhat keeping, hanging by a thread, as is my sanity

Team Harrow is currently just consisting of harrowcita, the reverend kitten, and real!dulcinea

the super important info real!dulcinea said she needed to tell harrow is that what's using harrow's body isn't a spirit or a revenant

her body isn't being puppeted, something is moving it around and it isn't a fragment or a ghost

because it doesn't feel like awake will the real slim shady please stand up

is this gideon???? does it mean gideon is more than a ghost?????

real!dulcinea is like "idk what you can do with that info but that's not up to me anymore, bye~"

i don't think i ever posted my yearly oc collections so here it is! i started to do them at the end of 2020, when i started to get back into designing pkg and then eventually developing them more as ocs.

my previous years are definitely inflated quantity wise because i would also include unfinished designs/concepts as well...just to see who i already started working on in that year. i didn't get to do as many designs this year due to real life changes and i decided to focus more on developing the world they live in as well. it was fun to do something different but i hope to return to showing character interactions and such for next year because personally that is what draws me into making characters in the first place. my project for next year will likely be tackling the legendary pkmn and focusing on their relationships with each other. eterna/necro is def my fave atm so you will all probably see them again next year <3 along with the ultra beasts as well hopefully^^

so insanely real!!!! I love how fitting their magics both are. guhguh i love alux sm he's such a silly guy. I don't talk abt him much.,, I rlly hope he gets more self worth or can atleast see the good he's doing, maybe his friends will help him!! idk. need this boy to just be happy and not hate himself

side note w petros magic. idk why but the moment I heard "animation magic" I immediately thought "animating? what about.. REanimating?". methinks petro should do some necromancy as a treat

sider note with the redemption . imo i don't think he should be fully redeemed but also I feel like not redeeming him or atleast showing him giving up any sort of morals would be a waste,, there are subtle signs he has some attachments, some regrets (holding onto the frame of him looking upset before pulling out the dagger w my life) so I think just not doing anything with thag would be waste

idk maybe he can like. have a mental breakdown and end up dying, maybe throwing himself too deep into his beliefs too get out, maybe dying doing something actually selfless for once. shrug idk

AR Thoughts (1/2)

HAI CHAT !!! I want to discuss a lot of my thoughts on AR; mainly what it could become, the potential for the characters, and such. uhhm this will be half organized and half me yapping nonsensical. enjoy!

(this became just alux yapping because it got way too long. oops) SO!! ALUX!!!! I don't talk about him much. I had a bunch of thoughts earlier about his character + predictions for his arc. Gonna spill them here.

As established, the main traits that Alux shows is kindness and selflessness. The series plays with the idea of how correct these are, when its appropriate to lend a hand and when it's stupidly risky. In the first two episodes, these traits make him stand out from the others in a good way. Among everyone else in the castle, he seems to have a heart, and the best interests of everyone in mind.

However, he also has a strong sense of sacrifice and selflessness. Some of it is due to the influence of his father, and a lot of it is the pressure of an entire kingdom. Due to this, he has this constant habit of putting others before himself. Risking himself to protect others, even if there's other ways.

(In the castle, the only times this comes up is with Petro since. well he's Alux's only friend lol. Regardless, Alux tends to keep Petro aside, to make sure he doesn't get involved in any conflict and keep him out of anything messy. Best examples are the beginning of EP1 when Alux gets tripped and the middle of EP2 where Alux shushes Petro a few times so he doesn't begin yelling at Azrael)

Alux's perspective on his kindness isn't bad, either. Petro points out it could get him hurt in the long run, but Alux tells him he'd rather be hurt knowing he tried.

Now, once he leaves the castle is when this behavior begins to get interesting. In a place where he can be normal, he still keeps up his undying sense of selflessness and kindness. Around this point it becomes clear that it's not just kindness, it's mixed with hatred for himself. Alux makes himself small, puts down whatever he does as 'not a big deal', doesn't take any credit for anything he does. He sees himself as nothing, yet his kindness does so much.

The first time we see him aggressive in the village is when protecting Mae. Like in the castle, he only risks himself to protect others, not himself.

Then, when it came to the bandits, Alux acted a bit irrationally, and did the habits he always did. Unlike the drunk guy and the castle guards, him and his friends are completely alone, and there is a very present threat. Alux ends up getting hurt.

Now, even though the potion hurt him, Alux didn't know it would. Despite his injuries, he denied something that would heal him. He wanted the others to have it, not him.

At this point, it's incredibly obvious Alux... doesn't care about himself 😭😭; all of it is probably a mix of the bullying he went through, the lack of care from his father, and the large amount of pressure from being royalty. Essentially, it cut out Alux's self worth. Being abandoned and picked on consistently left him thinking he was the problem, or something similar. He gives out the love he never received.

Obviously, while his inherent kindness and love isn't bad, his recklessness and selflessness keep hurting him, and worrying the people around him. It's not a hard guess to say that's what his arc will be about; finding his worth, finding love to give himself.

I feel like this can become more interesting whenever he goes back to Cozen, or inevitably has to confront Petro. Whenever he goes back to Cozen, he's going to be different. Maybe he'll be more confrontational, maybe he'll stand up for himself more. Regardless, whenever he has to confront Petro, it's going to be interesting. Alux would have changed, and Petro is the opposite of what Alux thought he was.

I've kinda ran out of steam but if you have anymore thoughts feel free to add!!!! I should reread the casting call website sometime soon lol. Hope you enjoyed!! I'll post more thoughts later but I'm kinda tired rn and this is getting long

CAN YOU ELABORATE ON TLT BEING A HOMESTUCK FANFIC‽‽‽‽‽

i'm exaggerating a bit, but taz muir was a well known homestuck writer who wrote under the username urbanAnchorite. her fic the serendipity gospels is one of my fave fics ever, but was never finished and it's only by book 2 of tlt that i figured that the clear allusions to it in book 1 weren't just cute little nods but that she'd expanded on some of the ideas/concepts and worldbuilding of the serendipity gospels. to name a few:

the ninth house cult is heavily based on the juggalo church muir wrote/expanded upon in TSG, from face paint to the rituals and a lot of the accompanying prose

act 2 of TSG takes place mainly in a spaceship that serves as "cathedral" of the juggalo cult, and is described to be covered in bones that have been painted in many colors--which is close to the description of the mithraeum

act 2 also features the two main characters being much younger people mentored/manipulated into horrible acts by an old man who is thousands of years old and bickering with his other thousand year old friends/enemies, who seem to share knowledge and understanding that neither the two protagonists do but also deeply resent one another. hard to not read a parallel to john and the lyctors here!

to elaborate on this bc i just realized it: it is heavily implied in TSG that the dancestors (older people thousands of years old) went through a universe reset and built the empire in the image of their own trauma and anger, which would v much parallel what happens to john on earth and how he "reset" humanity

less of a homestuck thing and more of a taz muir thing: said old man is v much grooming the main female character and making her life miserable during the entirety of act 2

a lot of the story takes place in the background of the trolls' empire being a horrific imperialist force that the main characters were originally very excited to join and become a part of, with one of these characters in particular daydreaming about becoming ground troop for invasion while also holding a terrible secret that would have precluded him of doing so anyway. p neat parallel to gideon's own thing here

act 1 and act 2 of TSG are from two different pov characters, with a drastic shift in prose style and understanding of the situation/world when the pov shifts. which v much echoes how tlt has worked so far. part 3 was barely started before it went on hiatus, but it followed the same pattern.

speaking of, the prose of act 2 of TSG definitely feels very close to harrow the ninth's prose. you can just open the fic and check the first chapter of act 2 and how it's written, and you'll see what i mean. there are differences--the prose of TSG act 2 is more inflected with southern usamerican evangelical speak, i think? i'm not american so i can't quite 200% tell

there is an external armed resistance to the empire's violent imperialism and resistance that was supposed to be the focus in act 3 of TSG, which never happened. nona the ninth did, though, and it follows that structure.

there are also eldritch horrors that threaten the entire universe--homestuck's own horrorterrors--that are in the background of TSG and implied to be an important part of the future plot that we never saw. tlt has the ressurrection beasts

taz muir's worldbuilding around the blood castes in og homestuck that she elaborates on in TSG also somewhat parallels the way the houses function in tlt

iirc there's also worldbuilding around space travel in tlt (such as the obelisks? i think that's the name? and the use of necromancy to power them) that parallels taz muir's own take on how space travel works in the troll empire, using psionics and draining them dry in a similar way

i think the necro-cav relationship 'ideal' is based around how taz also interpreted moirallegiance in not just TSG but all her homestuck fics, down to how its legal implementation and the idealization of it vs its role in troll/houses imperialism and the reality of blurred lines in "expected" relationships. i'd love to hear taz's discourse on troll romance

i also think the necro-cav relationship parallels the other legal pairing explored in TSG--legislacerator and subjugglator.

there are probably more parallels i am missing--i need to reread TSG soon, as i haven't in a while. there are elements i'd say are more like, how taz herself elaborated on the bones of the worldbuilding of homestuck and then made it her own thing, which is rad as hell. other elements are more fun nods, such as gideon's aviator glasses being shamelessly stolen from dave homestuck, and a lot of gtn's prose feeling very homestuckey. it's def not like, just a little rewrite and boom, you get the locked tomb! imo it's more elements of plot and worldbuilding that were interesting enough to develop into something of its own and that taz made into something new, along with other elements of other stories (such as lolita and umineko) being woven into it. part of why i enjoy tlt so much is its "collage" aspect, taking elements taz thought interesting in other stories, or using these elements to purposefully evoke specific feelings/moods to construct or obsfucate certain ideas.

However, in Japanese, "bondage" is more commonly used today in reference to fashion (i.e. clothing made of leather/ rubber) rather than a restraining tool. "Corset" was chosen because it's the closest thing to what he was wearing and let's him keep some dignity.

If you're not in the known, Elder is a NuTuber and I'm 75% sure he's alluding to his own channel.

As a reminder, Ishikana's gender is a self-admitted "secret." They're called both masculine and feminine terms in other chapters, so don't take them being called an "old lady/obachan" here too seriously.

Before the year is officially over (at least in my time zone) here's some fun facts about my mago's y'all would probably like:

Skylander Magolor - Has ridden on the back of the some of the winged skylanders during the years his magic was setback and still does to this day as most of them fly much faster than him. The winged skylanders he rides on don't mind this, as he is extremely lightweight.

Necromancy Magolor - He has studied in both magic and business just like the rest the magos on list (except for Magomon), but Necro's the only mago here that has some studies in medicine. I think the reason for this is pretty obvious. But at least his cult members get free medical treatment... from a unlicensed doctor... oh dear.

Undertale Magolor - When I was first designing UT's underground look, his color palette was almost going be green and yellow and the lore behind that was going to be Toriel making his new clothes out of Asriel's old ones. That was until I realized that a little morally messed up. So I changed the colors and changed the lore to being that his underground clothes were made out of some of Toriel's old robes.

Promise Prince Magolor - During the design process for him, he was almost about to have a much darker and not so kid-friendly story, with Prince being some kind of "love-slave" (to put it lightly) and the Oakley being a somewhat toxic lover (like one of those very questionable romance webtoon comics). But then the idea of this AU having Beauty and The Beast troupes came to mind and I IMMEDIATELY jumped on that bandwagon as that was the kind of romantic storytelling I actually enjoyed!

Blind Magolor - The mask he wears over his eyes is just as reflective as a mirror. So when he holds hands with someone to look through that person's eyes, he's able to see their face if the person looks at his mask.

Freelancer Magolor - The gun he uses (USP Match Pistol) was actually recommended by a friend of mine who knows all about firearms. I asked him "what's a gun that's beginner friendly and easy for me to draw?" and he gave me that.

Magomon - He shares some traits with the BlackGatomon line, so if this was a completely different story, he could evolve into a LadyDevimon.

so, the standard recs you will usually see for getting a theoretical foundation here are:

Foucault's 1978–9 lecture series at the Collège de France, "The Birth of biopolitics", and his 1975–6 series, "Society must be defended" (there are print series of his lectures) (<-these are honestly overrated as sources imho b/c foucault never fully developed these concepts. i would read lecture 11 from the 75–6 series if you absolutely feel you need some foucault, and then skip to whatever else seems interesting)

This planet is located outside of the normal solar system, and its current location has been lost to time.

(Terra Quadrant - Māter Sector - 7° - 62° - 42°)

Terrain & Ecosystem: Boreal zone

The planet is almost entirely comprised of mountainous regions, the mountains made completely of rock, assumed at one point in history to have been the tectonic plates of the planet, but the truth has been lost to time. Between the walls of mountains there lies valleys, abundantly filled with life. Many of the valleys are filled with taiga forests and freshwater lakes, however there are some deciduous forests scattered amongst the coniferous taiga forests all over the planet amongst mountains. The mountains however only take up around half of the planet, the other half is an abundant and deep ocean, with some manmade sea stack island, as some of the more aquatic or recluse species and individuals refused to move on land or to live in the mountains.

Social Climate: Democracy

many of the areas inside the openings in the mountains lack any land to begin with, which is why they've probably adapted a way for sea life to get up to said cities, like a water elevator or smthin, or like a water proof teleportation pad

The planet adapted to the mountainous environments by building homes and cities along the mountainsides, where all walks of life lived from the sky to the land and sea. They built systems to get up and down the mountains, and even to get into the ocean from one point to another with ease, allowing ocean stacks to visit the mainland when needed. Due to the abundant resources and knowledge on the planet however, it became a supply point and rest stop, the economy boosted by the visitors coming and going from the planet. It was visited often enough that the space riders had an unofficial station located on the planet for any business they needed to conduct. Strict laws were set in place so the planet was not over harvested for its natural resources, and those laws were passed down and improved upon over thousands of years until they could have easily been considered sacred to the inhabitants of the planet, the punishment of violation often ending in exile or death, though everyone always had a vote in the matter, and all opinions were heard out. Many markets had currency exchange areas to allow those from other worlds to be able to purchase until there was a standardized currency declared and used widespread. Merchants and merchandise were subjected to laws to ensure regulation standards were followed when it came to the buying and selling of goods, but it was also to keep track on the resources heading out so they could abide by the harvesting regulations. They had a bustling economy and a diverse population up till the end.

Native race/species: Anthropoeidís

Also known as Beast Folk in layman's terms, the Anthropoeidís species is a group of highly intelligent organisms, akin to humans or critters, that originate from the planets oldest living species of animals, and evolved over thousands of years. The history of each different animal is passed down its species line to what was current day before the destruction of the planet.

Status: Destroyed - Necro Gaian

Annihilated by the Prototype. The cult laid siege to the planet, captured any inhabitants possible, then destroyed the planet. First flooded it with red smoke, then completely destroyed into rubble. Disrupted the ecosystem and killed all life.

TLDR: Planet core got pumped so full of smoke that it imploded.
