in the manga midvalley the hornfreak has a baritone saxophone. now a fun fact about these saxophones is that they are big. A barisax is about 48 inches or 121cm long. His saxophone is not even half of his body length. So either Midvalley the hornfreak has a fancy specialized saxophone that sounds like a bari but is alto sized (which doesn't make sense the bari is that big for a reason) OR he is tall as fuck.

also the fact that he doesn't have a neckstrap or anything with this bari and is carrying it mostly one-handed is metal as fuck because saxes are actually quite heavy. this man is insanely strong.

After all I'd have made sure I thought they'd laugh it off with me after, otherwise I have to say sorry and buy them an icecream or whatever

I also own an EU disability card which is a way to prove you actually have an (invisible) disability which can be usefull in some cases like during lockdown there was a one-person-per-family shopping rule but I would be allowed to bring a second person to help me with whatever I need.

With this card comes a list of locations like movie theaters or parks that will offer discounts or free stuff to card owners, but they never fully fleshed out the system so everyone basically gets access to everything (on paper technically I can join the wheelchair diving club) and this gets funny side effects like when I got a discount for the zoo with a free activity book for autistic kids.

But the funniest locations to me personally are the ones where they offer me a free ticket for my 'companion'. They clearly have a specific type of disabled person in mind but hey, they're offering so I'm taking it! So I visit these places with a friend and we split the price of the remaining ticket. But this is where the fun part comes, actually informing the ticket workers of my card.

Let's use the example of my visit to the Gravensteen, a medieval castle in Ghent. The ticket guy is standing outside and does this explanation about some stuff that is being fixed in the office hence why he is standing in open air. So at this point we have had a completely normal conversation with this guy. But then we buy the actual tickets and I hand over my card, to prove we're allowed this discount of course.

And the second he sees my picture on the card, this guy, who again, had a completely normal conversation with us up this point, lowers himself down to me (he's not much taller), puts his hands on his knees and goes "SO ARE YOU READY TO VISIT THE BIG CASTLE? I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN!" at which point I was just staring back in bewilderment and not saying anything so he just gave me a sad smile, seemed to resist the urge to pat me on the shoulder and let us in.

We are all too familiar with the infantilization that comes with being disabled but it's becomes extra absurd when it happens min-conversation. He already is aware I can keep up with a regular conversation. The only thing that changed is that he now knows I'm disabled and not even what kind. and the fact that he did the embodiment of this meme was just the sherry on top

Anyway I'll take the autistic coloring book next time please

So over a decade ago, I made this post about how I was able to obtain an original second gen pokégear. I alluded to it recently in this post, but I never really showed any detail shots, so I thought I'd finally share them.

So the box mentions having a few different features: calendar, watch, alarm, stopwatch, schedule, phone book, and radio. Keeping in mind that it is formated in Japanese, I never tried to enter in any numbers as Japanese phone numbers are 10 digits long. The calendar was also set to 2000 and a few years after (keeping in mind that this was acquired 13 years after it's intended use time).

The back of thr box has pictures of each setting display, all in Japanese.

The pokégear itself came with a velcro wrist strap and a neckstrap with a clasp.

The backof the pokégear has two plastic slots for you to slide the wrist strap into. Also, I put the battery stopper back in after initially testing it in case I ever learned enough Japanese to actually use it XD.

The only reason this thing can fit around my wrist is because I have tiny baby wrists, apparently. >:T

The neck strap is honestly pretty short and basically, when hanging around my neck, ends at my clavicle. Ideally, I'd like a longer one for cosplay purposes.

The instructions are all in Japanese and I have it in mind to play with it more once I learn enough Japanese to read it without a translator app. I've used it since I got it for Kris cosplay, but that's a post for a different time.

Anyways, if you ever see me draw Kris with a blue pokégear or wearing it on her wrist, you know why now.

「Hikaru LIVE TOUR 2024 -FEATURES-」 Live Goods

Hikaru just revealed the live goods for her upcoming solo tour. The line-up features a t-shirt, a hand towel, a neckstrap, a keyholder, a sticker-set and most importantly, an album, containing all of her single releases since becoming a freelance artist. Every purchased album comes with a random alternative cover photo as tokuten. (Source). Dammit, now I need to find a way to get my hands on that album because apparently, there are no plans to ever sell this stuff online.

Postponement of Toyama Performance

Due to the powerful earthquake striking central Japan on January 1, it was decided to postone the Toyama Live to a February date. (Source). Over 2000 fans participated in Hikaru's poll on whether or not she should postone the performance. While most people in the comment section seemed to be okay with the original date, a majority of voters were in favour of a postponement. Ultimately, that's probably the best course of action considering the circumnstances. I am just glad they were able to find a new date this quickly and that the live wasn't cancelled completely.
