Thoughts: Ohhhhhh. I like this one a lot (at least what we get to hear from it for now). I am a bit sad though that there doesn't seem to be any substantial difference between the verse and the chorus (which is something I usually want in my music, give me a strong build-up dammit XD). The verse is beautiful and it actually sounds like it is building up to something bigger but then nothing really happens T_T Still, the first verse and chorus as a whole feel very impactful to me. I think it's the somber atmosphere and Hikaru's emotional singing. Okay, I have now listened to the whole thing and I still like it very much. I REALLY love the bridge with the "Ai yueni..." lines. I also appreciate that the song has a bit more oomph in the second half. Hikaru providing some harmony for herself helps add a lot of dimension I think.

As always, I will do some live commenting as I watch the concert even though I am not too familiar with her new songs so I will probably not have a lot to say about them T_T Also not the biggest fan of an acoustic guitar-only accompaniment but that's a personal preference XD First things first, her shirt/blouse looks great, especially with the pearl necklace.

1.Flow: I recall not particularly liking the studio version. Can't say the acoustic arrangement has changed my opinion unfortunately. Still appreciate her vocals though. 2.Embrace: Very excited how this will turn out since I do enjoy the studio version quite a bit. Nice reverb effect. The verses sound amazing, obsessed with the way she sings the "mirai..." part. And the bridge with the “ai yueni…” is lovely. 3.Awe: "Embrace" and "Awe" back to back, YESSS! This honestly gets better every time I listen to it. Don't even mind when Hikaru gets a bit shouty because it works so well for this song. 4.Treasure: Meh... I'll admit that this doesn't do anything for me. Couldn't even remember listening to it before although I most definitely did. 5.Under the Rain: Ohhh, did not expect this song to make an appearance. Thought Hikaru would be focusing solely on her "Features" tracks for this acoustic live. Very happy. The chorus isn't my cup of tea but I love the melody in the verses. And the scene from the play will always be a personal favourite. Wow, the raspy voice Hikaru uses towards the end is pretty cool. Think this is my favourite rendition of the song so far. 6.Remain: Can't pinpoint what bothers me about the song but I am not a fan. 7.Escape: The acoustic version is better than the studio version I think. Not quite as chaotic. Still not my favourite. 8.Survivor: Feel quite nostalgic about Hikaru's first song as freelance artist. Solid performance. 9.奇跡/Kiseki: Still very fond of the melody during the instrumental section but the rest of the song is just okay I guess...Not even the lalala part works for me, it's a shame T_T

「Hikaru LIVE TOUR 2024 -FEATURES-」 Live Goods

Hikaru just revealed the live goods for her upcoming solo tour. The line-up features a t-shirt, a hand towel, a neckstrap, a keyholder, a sticker-set and most importantly, an album, containing all of her single releases since becoming a freelance artist. Every purchased album comes with a random alternative cover photo as tokuten. (Source). Dammit, now I need to find a way to get my hands on that album because apparently, there are no plans to ever sell this stuff online.

Postponement of Toyama Performance

Due to the powerful earthquake striking central Japan on January 1, it was decided to postone the Toyama Live to a February date. (Source). Over 2000 fans participated in Hikaru's poll on whether or not she should postone the performance. While most people in the comment section seemed to be okay with the original date, a majority of voters were in favour of a postponement. Ultimately, that's probably the best course of action considering the circumnstances. I am just glad they were able to find a new date this quickly and that the live wasn't cancelled completely.

Setlist Notes: The new song is called “With”. I originally thought it was “Wish”. My bad! Not sure about the order of some of those songs (maybe there’s something missing too??). I had to wait till I was on the train to write everything down but at that point, all the songs had gotten mixed up in my mind. It was made worse by the fact that I didn’t immediately recognise some of them and Hikaru didn’t always introduce them either☠️

That ticket holder clearfile looks so good!! Glad we got this as tokuten. A bit bummed though that there was no special design for the drink ticket😿For those who bought more than one copy of the “Mask” EP, there was a special present too, an alternative cover image. Super pretty 🤩 I mostly spent the rest of my day in Kyoto eating touristy stuff 😅And I headed to the Pokemon Center to get a few exclusive items for my nieces/nephews.

On a side note, those pink gummies were posted by Keiko earlier this week on her Yodel app. Of course I had to get them too (tho the packaging is a bit different, there’s a variety of designs. I got the same design as her today🤗)

Some highlights: I was SUPER close to the stage, it was AMAZING!!🤩 You can even see me quite clearly on the photo that Hikaru posted 🤗So glad she allowed us to take off our masks for the photo. Wouldn’t have wanted to miss that opportunity.

As always, Hikaru had an incredible stage presence, she was confident and cool, oozing charisma during each and every performance. I feel like we made eye contact several times but maybe that’s just wishful thinking 🙃Her singing was powerful and even though I didn’t always recognise the song (shame on me), I had a good time. “Under the rain” was hands down my favourite 💕So beautiful. I almost cried. She sounded better than she ever did before. The acoustic arrangement is very flattering. The upbeat songs were a ton of fun (despite sitting right in front of the speakers☠️). Hikaru literally rocked the stage🔥I almost feel bad for not being more active but I guess I’m just not the type to move a lot. (Clapping is the most I’ll usually do😅)

Sorry for adding lots of stuff on the go. I forgot to mention that Hikaru teased some upcoming solo activities for 2025. She says there are already more or less concrete plans but she will wait to make an announcement until everything is finalised. Of course she also briefly discussed the Kalafina Anniversary concert and asked who of us was planning to go. Obviously, almost everyone said that they would come, Hikaru seemed very happy about that and ensured us that they would put all of their love and strength into delivering the best possible music to us so we should all look forward to it.

Waaaahhh, I love this video so much!! So happy that I also got Lemon Tea at ChaTraMue during my stay in Bangkok. I had no idea what she had chosen when I saw Hikaru's Instagram Story from that day but I randomly picked Lemon Tea since it sounded like a safe choice XD. I just wish I had known that Keiko got the original Thai Milk Tea because then I would probably have gotten that as well (even though I am pretty sure I would not be a fan of it - I don't really like milky drinks). Also, that souvenir package that Hikaru bought from the shop! Damn it, now I regret not buying one too T_T

The girls got everything at Central Ladprao since it was the mall closest to the venue/their hotel but I got mine at IconSiam (since I happened to be there at that time).

Of course I also got the Yolé Frozen Yogurt since it was part of my Keiko activities. For those who don't know yet, Keiko actually took a private trip to Bangkok earlier this year and included a lot of pictures from that in her latest fan club magazine (scans coming soon!!). Naturally, I made it my personal mission to visit most of the featured places. A bunch of Keiko's activities were focused around the Siam area so I got my yogurt at Siam Paragon (just like Keiko😊 Same order too of course - yuzu honey and strawberries)

Hikaru 11th Digital Single "Lack"

Just a few days after the release of Hikaru's 10th digital single "Breathe" she has now released her 11th track as freelance artist titled "Lack". She performed it last night at her birthday live.

Released on: 2024-07-03 Lyricist: Hikaru Composer: HaKA; Arrangement: hoto-D Buy/Stream: https://linkco.re/HDvBVhQN?lang=en Some thoughts: Oh wow, based on the cover, I expected something a bit darker but nothing of this sort. I am pleasantly surprised by the intro, it is right up my alley, so creepy and dramatic! I love the symphonic metal/gothic metal vibes! Although I wish she had fully commited to thoses genres. For some reason, it doesn't quite hit the mark, at least not for me T_T Don't get me wrong, I like the song but it still sounds too much like many of her other recent releases (most of which are a little generic). Not sure if it is her singing style or the uninspired chorus that's putting me off but something is definitely missing (despite a lot of potential T_T)

『Hikaru B-day LIVE 2024 -love Begets love-』 Photos Instagram post 1 by Hikaru Great news! Hikaru announced her SECOND live tour of the year. Back in January and February, she held her 「Hikaru LIVE TOUR 2024 -FEATURES-」 with performances in Osaka, Fukuoka, Tokyo and Toyama. This time, she will once again perform in Toyama and Tokyo but she is also making sure to visit new prefectures in order to reach more people. Further details will be announced soon

Oh no. Just a couple of days ago I decided that I wouldn't be applying for the Wakana Classics 2024 on Dec 18 (the FC lottery ended on July 1st) and now Hikaru has planned activities for the same time period. Why??? I can already tell that this year will be full of regrets. Already regretting that I am missing so much this month and I fear it's only gonna get worse as the year progresses...*sighs*
