Friends for life

This Zack, my best childhood friend. When we were kids, we were basically inspereable. We spent so much time together. We slept over each tohers houses. Even better was the fact that our moms were best frinds. So not only they spend so much time together, but so did we. But that was 6 years ago. Everything changed when my dad died. Zack was there for me, but over time we grew apart. I had to help out my mum with my two sisters and she had to get another job to get enough money for us. Zack's mom on the other hand got divorced and found a new boyfriend. Who I heard didn't really get on well with Zack.

Me and Zack talked from time to time, but it was mainly superficial. Zack was now a very well respected guy in the school. He was always into sports. But now he was a swimmer, basketball and a football player as well. I don't know where he got all that time and energy. Even if we saw each other in the classroom we just smiled or waved at each other. Maybe even this very tiny friendship was the reason why no bullies dared to touch me. Not that Zack would every bully anyone, but if he knew that the other guys bullied someone, he always stood up for that person and ended it. And the bullies even apologized sometimes. That's how respected he was.

So yeah Zack's a jock and I am a classic nerd. Or maybe not classic. I don't really have much time to play games on the computer because of my job, but when I have some spare time I read comic books. So yeah, that makes me a nerd I suppose. And I do quite well at school too. Maybe not the PE, I kinda suck at that, but I get by.

Present time

Me and several other classmates were assigned to start decorating the halls for upcoming prom. Most of my classmates were really excited for that, but not me. I didn't have anyone to go with. Not anyone I wanted to atleast. Ok, I'll say it. I am gay, which complicates things a bit. And the person I would really like to go to prom with is Zack. But that will never happen. Zack is 100% striaght and it would totally ruin his reputation in the school.

But that doesn't stop me from obssessing about him. I saw him a few times in the locker rooms which gave me a pretty consistent image of how he changed over the years. He was pretty much the same Zack I grew up with, but I bet that his junk is much bigger than I remember. Truth be told, Zack was the first (and only) person who I had any sexual experience with. I know it sounds sus, but he only wanted to experiment jerking each other off as most boys do at their younger years. Back then I was really puzzled and didn't know what to do. Now I just wish I could go back to that moment once again.

I was one of the few remaining students. The rest headed to the shops to get their dresses and suits. I told them to leave and that I would finish it by myself, cause I wasn't planning on going anyway.

I entered the gym to get a ladder, to help me set up the last few letters over the door. And there he was, on the other side of the room. Zack was lifting some weights I didn't even know how to name. He smiled and went back to finish his set.

I was basically drooling, As I was climbing the ladder and trying to reach the letters, I stumbled and grabbed onto a light. I must have been shocked or something cause then I found myself on the floor. But I wasn't on the ground, I was standing. And on the ground was my body, unconcious.

I looked at my hands and they were barely visible. I tried to reach my body but it wouldn't accept my soul. Fuck, am I dying? I tried to call out for Zack but he didn't hear me. I ran to him and saw him lifting his weights. I tried to reach for him, but before I did I felt a force pulling me towards him. And as I was pulled away I felt something being ejected out of his body.

I opened my eyes, looking in front of me. But Zack was gone now. I turned around but he wasn't anywhere. As I looked down, I noticed I was now wearing bright red shorts, and on top of that a very sweaty torso, which definitely wasn't mine. I reached out my hands. Fuck, is this really happening? I searched the pockets and found a phone. In its reflection I saw Zack's face. Oh my god. Did I really just possess Zack's body? And where is he?

The responsible flow of thoughts was now interrupted by the two huge sweaty biceps now in the way where I usually didn't mind them. I flexed and oh my god, the tightness, the strength. I felt amazing.

I knew it was bad, but I just had to give it a try. What if I might never have a chance to do this ever again, I stuck out my new tongue and licked my new shoulder all the way to my biceps. Which also allowed me now to inhale the scent of my sweaty armpit. "This is so amazing!"

"Lot of working out and calorie deficit" a voice called out from the other side of the room, where I was before. And there was my body. Standing.

"Zack? Is that you?"

"Yeah, you're onto something. Well, we're gonna have to figure out how to pass on as each other."

We spoke some more about how we were gonna live our lives without anyone thinking we have gone crazy.

"Ok, Zack. Just one question. How about... you know. Private stuff?"

"You mean my personal things at home or phone? Well that shouldn't be so bad I think. I don't have many secrets to tell or something, haha"

"No, I mean. Eventually we're gonna have to take a shower or go to a toilet."

"Oh, right. I haven't thought of that. Well, than my body is your body? I mean, I don't really like to think about somebody else using my body like that, but I know you're a good person and all, so I know you'll treat my body well. Maybe just... no sex? Could you do that for me please?"

⭒könig who prefers cats over dogs. they're quieter and calmer, has a ginger cat called ‘spice’ that's fiesty to new people. he loves the animal to death, and hands it to his oma when he's on deployment.

⭒i've mentioned this before, but i feel like könig was in a band as a kid, just a school one. he played the drums and was pretty emo in his teenager years...

⭒he sleeps in the weirdest positions. he'll either wake up with his body contorted into different ways, his arms above his head and across his chest with his legs intertwined with eachother.

⭒he's an easily jealous person, always top of his classes and getting 100% on his tests. his mother always wanted the best outcome for her son, so she was shocked when he decided to join the kommando spezialkräfte instead of becoming a doctor or a lawyer.

⭒has 100% attempted to get up but fell because his legs were stuck and tangled in his bedsheets.

⭒gets second hand embarrassment far too easily. he's cringing on the inside when someone does/says something stupid.

⭒absolutely hates the summer. it's horrible; everybody's sweaty and stinks, missions make him want to peal his skin off. definitely prefers autumn/winter.

⭒his favourite food to eat whilst sick is soup, a special homemade soup him and his mother made together while growing up. her own special recipe that he only teaches to his closest of friends.

⭒loves late night conversations. they're so deep and understanding, chatting for hours 'til your jaw hurts and the sun his peaking through the curtains.

⭒either drinks black coffee, really bitter. or drinks the most sugary coffee ever, no in-between. (tell me your opinions)

⭒is a morning person. gets up early and has his breakfast, something quick and easy, like toast or porridge (oatmeal), has a morning shower 'nd everything. (i love adding salt to my porridge/oatmeal)

⭒hates when people say germany and austria are the same. will definitely have a whole rant about the differences 'til you understand fully.

⭒smokes weed a lot, pretty much an addict. he says it's to calm his nerves down but he gradually started doing it more and more often. a stoner fs.

⭒enjoys movies, a lot. he loves sitting down with a blanket beside him, covered in orange cat hair. will probably make a bowl of popcorn to eat whilst watching, but ends up eating it all before he's even 30 minutes in.

big, bear hugs. we all know that the big, brute and towering man gives amazing hugs, but he really wants to lay atop of you, to cage you with his warmth.

⭒has a tendency to over share, rants sometimes while pretending to be confident, finding anything to talk about before feeling a bit uncomfortable with what he'd said.

⭒isn't shy. it's my biggest pet peeve when people make könig out to be someone shy, scared, ect.. he's not shy, he's socially anxious, but that doesn't make him quiet. he either puts on a front and pretends to be confident with a cocky, loud personality.

⭒absolutely adores milk. he drinks like a gallon in two days, that's why he's 6’10.

⭒enjoys mint chocolate chip ice cream, hates strawberry, especially if they have chunks. (self projecting)

⭒enjoys doing the dishes, finds it satisfying. until he touches food and gags.

⭒avid banana hater, the texture to the taste, everything about it makes him feel ill.

⭒listens to music for hours, usually something rock or heavy metal, loud music in his ears and the loud explosions gives him some hearing damage.

⭒usually smells woodsy, fresh cut trees and vanilla.

⭒germaphobe. doesn't like being near people when they're sick and will avoid them, probably because he gets sick too easily, despite having a strong immune system.

⭒isn't a very emotional person, he has sympathy for others but can't express it through tears and emotions. he's cold and aggressive to the recruits, blaming them for his issues because he struggles taking blame and fault for situations and needs a punching bag.

⭒owned a fish when he was around 7, cried because it died. turns out it was alive and he saw it swim down the toilet. never got another fish again, traumatized.

⭒doesn't like being told he's in the wrong, will refuse and deny it 'til he's forced to either apologise or end the friendship.

⭒curly ginger, or wavy ginger, you can't change my mind.

⭒doesn't really understand tiktok that much, or instagram. not really something that he's interested in, but occasionally uses twitter for like 5 minutes.

It was a beautiful little arrangement that the F1F begun to adore. You were the warm fire to warm their cold hearts or the blazing hearth to whip them into shape if they got rowdy. So it was a little jarring to him when he strolled into your clinic and heard an angry drawl.

“Bonnie?” the man called out to you, his reaction was controlled but his heart thumped against his chest trying to break out. When you didn’t respond he decided to stay by the doors out of your vision to figure out what was the issue, studying you.

“Right now, he's probably up behind her with a pool stick. Showin' her how to shoot a combo. And he don't know”

Your hips began to sway against the rising tune and even in your scrubs, there was a clear muscle memory when it came to the rhythm of the song. Soap quickly exited and left to go to the common room to find the rest of the F1F playing poker

“There’s loverboy, we were wondering how long it would take for you and-“

“Firstly, she’s my friend Capt’n you know that. Secondly, Somethin’s a mattah with Bonnie.” Soap cut Price off quickly not caring for niceties.

“why because she’s running a little late?” Gaz spoke while checking his turn. It was comical how they knew you by your nicknames from Soap rather than your god given name.

“Aye ‘nd she’s singin’ this song of ‘ers and it’s got me all worried. I mean I know that I’ve been a wee bit busy lately but I’ve made sure to make me rounds and when I came to her place she was swinging hips and I ken to know when somethin’s a mattah with me Bonnie-“ Simon’s head turned to his friend with interest as Gaz cut the rambling man short.

“Calm down mate. We cannot understand you when you go back to the ancestral plane with that tongue of yours” Gaz spoke. Price waved him off to let the Scott breathe.

“She’s up tae high doh.” Soap rushed out, his brows knit together trying to piece together what could’ve happened.

“In English, lad” Price spoke up. However somebody came to his rescue.

“The phrase is meant to be used to describe when somebody is pent up, flustered. It’s a Scottish saying.” Ghost answered with a deep baritone. Everyone was surprised but secretly noted the phrase for whenever they had to go solo with the Mohawk man.

“So go talk to her” Price responded to Soap with a look that said he was ordering, then he offered a small gift of liquid courage

Soap refused the drink and made his way back over to the infirmary. His brain scrambling to find an answer.

“I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive. Carved my name into his leather seats”

Your belted notes rung through the doors and hit his ears. He vowed he would find out the issue and fix it just so he wouldn’t have to hear the pain in your voice. He came around the corner as you stood in front of a table, organizing your different surgery and procedural tools. He spotted the AirPod beneath your trucker hat (since wearing a traditional cowboy hat was too distracting in the work place even during the quiet shifts. )

“I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights. Slashed a hole in all four tires-“

Soap swallowed all his worry as he grabbed an AirPod out and spoke but you beat him to the punch.

As you two went on back and forth, the distance between your bodies got smaller and smaller. Two wide eyed grins plastered across your face. He cut you off with a smirk

“Oh I’m sure you were the.. how do you say it again? Oh right” Johnny leaned in closer and his voice dropped, “the best little girl this side of the Mississippi. Ain’t that right, hen?”

“I know damn well you did not just call me a hen from a damn barn house-“ you went to speak again but got cut off as your throat hitched, soap’s mouth just by your ear and his tone got unrealistically deeper and more dominant. A careful hand grazing your hip.

“Shut yer pus for a moment, hen. Tell me what’s a matter. What’s got you so up tae high doh.” The male spoke.

You were silent for once. All the cogs in your brain just stopped. Everything was quiet, if you had perfect hearing you could hear Johnny’s poor heart banging to get out of his chest in anxiety from him boldly caressing your waist.

“Aww come on lassie, need me to buy a wrench for that brain of yours”

“I misplaced my sewing needle. Well I did or one of the stupid nurses did but I can’t find it and I won’t find it till the cows come home” you huffed.

“The one from your nana?”

“Does a bear shit in the woods?”

“No need for the ‘tude. May I look?”

“Sure. It’s no bigger than a minnow in a fishing pond” you said softly as he gently moved you aside to look at the table below. His trained eye spotting a glint on the ground. He reached over to pick it up and show it to you.

“Bless your heart! Good god Johnny, oh my sweet I could kiss you!” You cried out with the biggest grin. You leaned forward and kissed him softly on his cheek. His stubble gently scratching your soft, plump lips. His cheeks barely flushed as his smirk transformed into a smile and a small chuckle left his throat. He took a moment to memorize the feeling of your lips for later.

If that’s all it took to make his little Bonnie proud. He’d search every haystack for your needle in a heartbeat. You were his everything, he’d wait until the right moment to tell you. Especially when he was pretty sure the rest of the team was right around the corner listening to them. He’ll confront them later, for now he wants to stay in this moment with you. Watching his sweet hen, praising him. Grinning as she danced around with the needle he found, and even maybe hid.

I sent you an ask months ago about this guy I met on a dating app who was doing ENM/poly (he wasn’t even sure which) really badly and things had gotten messy between us.

Things have gone batshit crazy since then. Like we settled into just a friendship given that he wasn’t sure what he was doing plus he told me that I know this other person. I live in a small town so I’ve been trying to think who it was. He gave me hints like they’re also ND and work in a similar field to me. Anyway things had finally settled then this other person broke it off with him.

He came to me and told me he was heartbroken and just a wreck. I asked him straight who this person was. My therapist had said it actually wasn’t ok that they both knew the deal with me and I didn’t know who she was so there was this weird imbalance of power. He finally cracked and told me. So yeah it’s a friend of mine. I did not suspect it was her because until recently she was living with her husband and was keeping this hush. Kinda mortifying as we discussed my initial dramas with this man, that we had sexted and gotten really intense before I decided for sure the whole ENM thing was not for me and he didn’t know what the fuck he was going. So she knew it Him and they were together when we had this conversation and just played dumb.

So now I know who it is and she knows about me but doesn’t know that I know.

Then one night she starts talking about this crazy ex she had been dating and calls him possessive and controlling etc. Turns out he had been dating other people with her full knowledge and blessing but when she started expressing interest in also dating others he flipped out and got jealous.

In the meantime he’s venting and projecting all his emotions and experience onto me and wanting support, even though he kinda fucked me over. Like sending me screenshots of messages between them and rants through the night. Plus the two of them had been discussing my dating life between them even though I told him stuff in confidence.

So she dropped a big hint in conversation that it was Him. And I was like oh no way is his name ____ and she’s like Yes! So we’re both like Oh no way, even though she already knew about it and I also knew about her. It was silly.

Then she messaged him to say for him not to hurt Me and now we all finally know that we all know.

Moral of the story, don’t fuck around with relationship structures you have no idea about. Especially if you’re coming out of straight hetero marriages and just kinda decide you want to have to fun but actually you fuck shit up for everyone involved and it all gets messy because you’re actually insecure as fuck and just looking for someone to fix you…

Music sparkled through the air as Senators and military officers milled around the room, sharing war stories and talking politics.

One man stood out to you.

Captain Rex was dressed in a neat set of gray dress uniforms, stalking around the edge of the crowded room as if looking for someone. You nearly choked on your drink because maker, he'd never looked so put together before. You'd always found him attractive, even when you became friends, but damn, this was new.

Your heart pounded when he locked eyes on you. You could swear that his jaw fell open, but your thoughts were interrupted by someone speaking next to you.

Ahsoka called your name for a third time, waving an orange hand in front of your face. You snapped out of your trance and cleared your throat.

"Commander 'Soka! You look amazing!" You gasped. She wore a sparkling maroon dress, similar to the color of her Jedi clothing.

The togruta frowned and tilted her head to the side. "So do you." She narrowed her eyes suspiciously and followed where you'd been staring before they blew wide and she gasped.

"Oh force...you like him!"

"Be quiet!" You hissed, almost clapping a hand over her mouth. "Yes. No! Well…maybe?”

A terrifyingly mischievous smile crossed her face and she bounded off into the crowd. You knew she wouldn't do something to get you in trouble, but you didn't like where this was going.

A little while later you heard voices behind you, so you turned only to find Jesse practically hauling Rex towards the outdoor balcony and Ahsoka making a beeline for you.

You gave the commander an accusatory look, but she grabbed your arm anyways, dragging you around the swarm of people until you were on the same balcony.

"Good luck!" She whispered, then shoved you outside and shut the door. Dumbfounded you looked to see Rex standing in the corner.

“Sorry, about…that.” You said, turning to leave.

He caught your hand.

“Don’t go.” Rex murmured. “You…you look beautiful.”

You could feel heat rising to your cheeks.

“You look quite nice yourself.” You countered.

It was his turn to blush. “Thanks. Would you, ah, like to dance?”

You smiled. “Yeah.”

He placed a hand on your waist and took one of yours in his other, then swayed to the gentle melody flowing outside from the gala.

“I guess Jesse and Ahsoka wanted to play matchmaker tonight.” You blurted, unable to stop yourself.

Something, you couldn’t tell what, flickered on his face.

“I suppose it’s pretty unethical for…”

“—a communications officer to fall in love with her captain?” You finished.

“Yeah.” He sighed. “It doesn’t make it wrong, though.”

Hope swelled in your chest as he tilted his head forward. You hadn’t realized how close your lips were until the moment.

“Then why don’t we make it right?” You whispered right as his lips met yours.

The kiss wasn’t rough or needy. It was tender and slow; driven only by love. His arms tightened around you and pulled you closer. Butterflies swirled in your stomach.

A blissful smile graced his features when you pulled away.

we need to talk about grian. “alliances in the life series never last” no, your alliances in the life series never last because you don’t want them to. i’m so tired of this bitch making her own destiny and then pulling a surprised pikachu face when the natural consequences of her actions eventuate. grian really spent this season rushing jimmy and joel headlong to their deaths AND helping the only other person likely to beat them there survive, and then he’s surprised when he’s left without a team? the team he tried to kick jimmy out a few episodes ago for literally no reason? he couldn’t sabotage it easily so he just went the old fashioned way of general recklessness.

grian spent his entire first season chained to scar, complaining the whole time of course, humming and haa-ing about what his alliance would be after he died and went yellow. they were literally several episodes in with an entire life built together and he was like “remember this is just until i’m yellow. then i’m off to find a new alliance lol”. as they settle into their long-term stronghold in their sand-monopoly, totally threatening to leave scar alone and in a situation where he’d have to defend the entire desert on his red life. then when grian didn’t go to yellow until really late in the game and their closest allies had died so he couldn’t switch teams anyway, he ends up sticking with scar and actually winning together with him (though he takes the solo win and kills scar in pvp).

then in double life he like… decides he wants to be soulmates with bigb for some reason even though soulmates are chosen at random? like he literally sees bigb running around the mountainside while looking for his soulmate and is like “i wish he was my soulmate😍” and then decides he will be and is disappointed that they aren’t. and then is even more disappointed when he finds out his soulmate is scar, even though they’re good friends and work well together and literally won last time they played together and scar has improved massively at the game since then. (not that grian noticed that at all for the entire season they were paired together. literally he said in limited life “now that i’m not partnered with scar he’s actually dangerous.” BABE. YOU WON TOGETHER IN THE FIRST SEASON. LAST SEASON HE WATERBUCKET-CLUTCHED 100 BLOCKS DOWN FROM RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. HE’S BEEN DANGEROUS TO PEOPLE THIS ENTIRE TIME. YOU’VE JUST BEEN ON HIS SIDE SO HE’S NEVER BEEN THAT DANGEROUS TO YOU).

so yeah then he spends the whole series being “secret soulmates” with bigb for no reason other than he’s annoyed he’s paired with scar/not paired with bigb. in the game with randomly-generated partners. his game with randomly-generated partners.

and even now he had an alliance with scar’s team lined up perfectly. his closest allies on the server and his teammates all dying. note that they weren’t actually dead yet. grian had already given up on his team while they were still alive and kicking. but anyway, he decides he needs a new team and he has a set of very close allies right there. but no, he literally would rather go make an alliance with the singular mortal enemy of his just-dead teammate rather than put himself on the same team as scar again. because alliances and friendships mean nothing here, right? etho and bdubz are out there fighting to roleplay together season after season, scott is giving up lives to someone he partnered with back in season 1 and he and cleo have basically decided they vibe so well together they’ll be bffs through all of time, and ties are creating the same approximate polycule they form in literally every season. but heaven forbid grian has to acknowledge he and scar have spent more time together than apart in this series.

grian thinks alliances break up quickly because he has wildly unstable relationships with literally everyone on the server. he’s the undiagnosed nd girl being like “man, people suck :(”. no girl, you suck at people. you have a condition. get help.

》 AITA for my attempts to avoid playing an online game with a friend?

disclaimer i apologize for how chronically online this whole situation might sound, also if my friends see this and recognize me, i am so sorry

about a year back i [18] got into tps game because some of my online friends were really into it. the friends relevant to this AITA are C [16] and B [17]

when i started out i was quite bad at the game, but C and B were cool about playing with me anyways. during the first few months i played very often but i then dropped it for a bit, now playing only whenever i have nothing much to do

so here's where the actual AITA situation comes in:

I picked the game up again, again only playing every so often. usually i would solo queue and play with random people but sometimes C and B would ask me to join a match if they were online too

while the three of us would play fine together, even with me being the least skilled, i at one point realised i preferred playing with C and not B. C and I would share out frustrations about bad teammates and also excitement over winning matches, overall itd be a lighthearted good time

B on the other hand is a different story. I like playing with them but a majority of the time id leave our online play in a bad mood. failed matches would be terrible, they'd sometimes type out insults aimed at the team as a whole [despite me being the only person who is able to read the messages since we chat outside the game] excluding themself as they highlight their much better play, sometimes even aiming a grievence at me directly for not keeping up.

i am ND and have terrible rsd, so i take messages such as "I hate you guys" "anon what was that" "you guys suck", to heart against my will. B always seems to be incredibly frustrated and dumbfounded whenever the team plays terrible, and if theyre meant to be jokes i honestly cannot tell. while i could try to jokingly insult back, since C and B are fine with trading insults between each other, my humor is just not the same

back on topic, on one occasion, we were matched with teammates who did not play very well with us, and we had a very bad losing streak. while i was used to having bad teamwork and repeat losses, B stopped playing with me on account of feeling very frustrated over our teammates and having been dropped down a rank because of it

these days, when C and B are online and I happen to be free, i avoid getting online myself even if i want to play. when im online and B joins, ill play with them begrudgingly because i know they're a better player than me and we have a good time when we are actually winning. if i can, however, I sometimes ignore invites to continue playing

+ Tony Stark has the best playgrounds at his compound, yes, multiple, one with a lot of climbing gear that Peter and Kate seem to keep to themselves, one with some water features that's great in the summer, and then the huge playground in the back, with tons of slides, and bridges, stairs, binocular posts, and the coolest hiding spots that overlook the whole thing.

+ As much fun as it is to play on them, adult supervision is always required, you and a few littles have snuck out before to play alone, but it never ends up working, Jarvis is a snitch, and Peter can't keep a secret for the life of him.

+ But everyone's caregivers are happy to take turns watching the littles as they play 'the floor is lava' or 'hide and seek, eyes closed edition', though today is a special occasion, everyone, littles and caregivers, are out at the big playground, the barbecue going, half filled lemonade cups scattered across every surface, and you and all the other littles playing together.

+ Quite a few reminders about the rules had been shouted out, 'no running', 'no pushing', 'no powers', and 'no fighting', leaving multiple caregivers mouths, and a few from you and your friends when Loki teleported halfway across the structure.

+ But you were so close to winning, so close to being the last person standing when Peter, who was it, came barreling around a corner, you had to run! You had to win! + "You say 'Don' run or you'll ge' an owie.'" You said back in a deep voice, those around you laughing, though your Papa stayed unmoving, shocking everyone else, seeing as he was always the fun uncle before you, and seeing as you had him wrapped around your finger.

+ "And what happened?" He asked, still knelling on the ground, allowing you to both feel like, and be, the bigger person.

+ "I was runnin'." You admitted, Sam nodding his head. "'nd I fell." You tried to wrap your arms around his neck, hoping maybe a hug would be what it took to get him to fold, but he placed his hands on your waist and held you in place.

here's a list of things that i have done or have happened to me as a tutor who primarily works with small kids that i think would have also happened in some equivalent manner in suga's elementary school classroom:

one of my eight-year-olds, during a writing/spelling exercise: "i'm going to write 'I f'ed the dog' because I don't want to write 'I will feed the dog'!" me, trying not to lose it: "we are definitely NOT going to do that, let me help you change it"

my coworker who was teaching the soft 'g' to a pair of twins: "right, so we have 'g' like in giraffe! . . . but i don't know what sound a giraffe makes, sorry kids" me, who was sitting at the next table over and had been completely silent up until that point: [suddenly 'ERRROOOOOS' like an elephant] "yeah sorry that wasn't it i don't know what i was doing"

and then my coworker started laughing so hard she couldn't breathe

my boss: "the next person we're going to hire is going to be based off whether or not we can matchmake them with you"

all jokes obviously but i bet this happens to suga by the main office people

a seven-year-old of mine was trying to write "brian tried all kinds of airplanes" but i cut him off at "brian tried all kinds" bc he had spelled 'kinds' as 'kicks' and i was trying to redirect him like "think carefully - ki-NDS, how would we spell that?"

and he thought for a moment, erased the 'c', and replaced it with 'n' and left it like that

what do we get when we replace 'c' with 'n' in kicks. you tell me.

the "i f'ed the dog" eight-year-old had a project where we had to do a bit of research and i was trying to get him to read the sentence "he was born in canaan" and he squinted at it and then yelled really loudly "CANADA!!"

i was doing some context clue exercises with that same eight-year-old where we read a short passage that used a silly word in place of a real one and we had to figure out what that silly word meant, so the passage was about this girl named liselle who was a good friend except friend was replaced with "gringle" so it was all sentences like "she's a good gringle because she's nice and plays fun things" "we've been gringles since we were two years old" "liselle is one of my favorite gringles" and it went something like

him: "she's married?" me: "not quite! they play together and they know each other well, so what do you think liselle is to this person?" him, enthusiastically: "A GRINGLE!"

(yeah i was having the hardest time trying to keep it together then)

me: "sort of! when you've known someone for that long, what do you become?" him, suddenly very serious: " . . . a man."

and THEN i lost my shit

sometimes that eight-year-old has a session at the same time with another eight-year-old and they get along like a house on fire. i give them spelling tests where they have to write a sentence for each word and when i gave them the word "where" one of them yelled "WHERE DID YOU COME FROM" and without missing a beat the other one immediately yelled "WHERE DID YOU GO" and normally i'd have them write longer ones but that was so fucking funny i let it slide

this was funny bc right before that i gave them an example of "where" by singing the only two lines from "cotton-eyed joe" that i knew

"i f'ed the dog" eight-year-old, during another writing exercise: "i'm going to write 'the clothes are stained with cheese'!" me: "oh like melted cheese, right?" him: "no, dry cheese! because i rubbed it all over my clothes!" me: "this sounds like a personal experience, did this happen to you?" him: " . . . noooooo"

sometimes when i have to teach analog time to the kids i just take the clock my boss got from IKEA off the wall (bc we don't have any fake models LMAO) and bring it over to the table and the first time i did that the kid looked at me like i'd just committed the most heinous crime in the world

Macaque instantly recognizing the spell and running was so choppy he looked silly 😭 the "stop!" could've been so smooth lol. oh well. Wukong stumbling back too, oh Flying Bark I miss your movements. but thank goodness for the writers. ALSO the fact he instantly goes "we will....all be alright....relax" to comfort MK despite literally just being chained and hurt. oof, "I really don't want to wear this thing anymore. this time, it's stuck on tighter." omg when the eng dub comes out IF THEY MAKE THE PARALLEL TO THE MOUNTAIN SEALING MORE OBVIOUS. "I'm the one whose suffering, so why are you moping?" "Because I wasn't planning to go to jail today." "So you think I planned and wanted all this?" "You think I'm happy we were caught together?" AND THAT LAST BIT. He points all sassy at Mac with his tail with emphasis and bites his lips and stares at his tail (still pointing at Mac) like it committed a crime against him. what is wrong with them...I think you'll enjoy Wukong still teasing Nezha constantly lol. ITS ALSO SO FUNNY WHEN MK ASKS WUKONG TO NARRATE LIKE MR. TANG and he's like, are you serious?!?!? ok fine.
