So somehow I found myself rewatching Heroes, since I have season one and two on DVD.
I remembered Heroes Reborn when it came out in 2015, but then it wasn't up to par when I watched it. Suppose that it was years since high school when it was 2010, and I changed so much in 2015. Now that I noticed, a lot of reboots came. Sailor Moon, Digimon, maybe some other shows I can't remember.
Bottom line, I remembered this really inspirational quote I heard in the episode in 2015, and I really took it to heart since it really helped me at the time. (The show, even back in the 2000's was really inspirational and I suppose the show also helped inspired people to be heroes too.)
I bought Reborn on DVD yesterday and got it literally this morning. (Amazon really is boosting up. Didn't pay anything extra though.) I watched the episode and in the beginning I didn't hear that quote.
Maybe it was in a different episode or something or later on?
That's what marathons are for, lol.

Incoming Text AREA 51 Studies for @santinihoudini and @MarcAnthony :
Like adoptive Father & adoptive daughter.
Dear Marc & Christina Santini,
We invite you to explore a significant discovery regarding the father-daughter relationship between Claire Bennet and Noah Bennet (adoptive father). It is essential that you delve into this compelling dynamic.
As you embark on your roles as adoptive father and adoptive daughter, the relationship between Claire and Noah Bennet from the Heroes TV series offers a compelling example to follow. Their story underscores the importance of implementing stringent security measures to safeguard your privacy and protect yourselves from potential harm.
Studying the Heroes series, particularly the dynamic between Claire and Noah Bennet, will provide valuable insights into navigating this new lifestyle. This knowledge will be especially beneficial for Christina as she prepares to join our family, equipping her with an understanding of the rules and responsibilities akin to those depicted in the AREA 51 lifestyle.
Elon Musk is the AREA 51 leader, so you must take orders only from him. Don't let anyone else discuss AREA 51 matters with you. Only Elon Musk is authorized to guide you in all AREA 51-related affairs. If someone claims affiliation with AREA 51 without Elon Musk's approval, do not engage with them and ensure your protection by closing the door on these intrusions. Strict adherence to these rules is crucial to safeguard your lives.
Here is a short dialogue:
This is what you have to expect from Intruders:
Intruders: "Hey Marc Anthony, you can trust us. We're agents from AREA 51. Come have a chat with us."
Marc Anthony: "Do you have Elon Musk's approval?"
Intruders: "No, we don't have Elon's approval."
Marc Anthony: "If you don't have Elon's approval, then I can't give you mine. You must get Elon Musk's stamp of approval, and only then will I agree to open the door and chat with you. That's the security guideline we follow for all AREA 51 matters. Elon is our leader."
Intruders: "Well, at least I tried, right? Thanks for your time. Goodbye Marc."
Marc Anthony: "Goodbye, intruders!"
I trust this information proves helpful as you prepare for the next chapter ahead.
Best regards,
Your friend and guardian angel,
Angelo.
1- Marc Anthony is like Noah Bennet. (adoptive father).
2- Christina Santini is like Claire Bennet. (adoptive daughter).
Who is Claire Bennet?
Claire Bennet is a key character in the NBC psychological thriller and superhero drama series Heroes, portrayed by Hayden Panettiere. She first appeared in the pilot episode, "Genesis," on September 25, 2006. Claire, a high school cheerleader, possesses the extraordinary ability of rapid cellular regeneration, allowing her to heal quickly from any injury.
Throughout the series, Claire appears in more episodes than any other character, totaling 72 episodes, with a 73rd appearance through stock footage. In the continuation series Heroes Reborn, Claire dies while giving birth to her twins, Malina and Tommy.
Claire's power grants her an incredibly high pain tolerance. While she feels pain as intensely as anyone else, her ability swiftly dulls it. The series writers, Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite, noted that Claire "feels pain, but not the way most of us do." Claire herself explains to her friend West, "I feel pain; I just get over it quickly." This combination of pain tolerance and rapid healing has led to comparisons between Claire and the X-Men character Wolverine, though Claire is "less hairy and without claws," as Hayden Panettiere humorously points out.
After having her brain examined by the antagonist Sylar, Claire mentions that she no longer feels physical pain at all.
Who is Noah Bennet (adoptive father).
Noah Bennet, portrayed by Jack Coleman, is a major character in the NBC drama Heroes and its sequel series Heroes Reborn. Initially an anti-hero, Noah evolves into a hero in Heroes Reborn.
At first glance, Noah Bennet appears to be an ordinary businessman working for the Primatech Paper Company and living in Odessa, Texas, with his wife Sandra and their two children, Claire and Lyle. However, beneath this facade, Noah and his associates travel the world investigating superhuman phenomena, tracking down, and experimenting on individuals with extraordinary abilities.
Noah operates in a morally gray area, earning him the moniker of "Company Man," as he executes the often dubious orders of the company. Despite his professional duties, Noah's true allegiance lies with his family, revealing a complex character driven by both duty and a deep sense of familial loyalty.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN:
Back in 2013/14, Microsoft was looking to get in on the success of streaming with Netflix and Hulu having become break-out hits with their content, especially Netflix with its ORIGINAL content, through the XBOX system. For a while, they were looking for anything that could be XBOX original programming or that they could develop as. Yes, you all read that right, at one point Microsoft/XBOX were looking to start up and have their own original shows to compete or rather get in on the juicy Netflix/Hulu piece of pie. And what was originally going to be XBOX's first original series — a fifth season of the NBC superhero drama, Heroes.
No, seriously.
Here's all of the information that someone who used to work there around that time had given me on this piece of cancelled media since I devour these type of things or basically collect them like jewels:
• The little synopsis they gave at the time was it would feature "new stories and heroes, while mixing in cameos from the original series' cast". However the actual premise for the season was it was gonna be set a few years after "Volume Five: Redemption" and Claire Bennett having revealed the existence of evolved humans to the world with not only them being public knowledge but the number of them have been growing and growing every year all the while a new government-related threat arises.
• The new main protagonist of the series was to be Roger Deakins, a now worn-out police captain who wants to atone for his past mistakes (the main one ended up costing the life of his partner/close friend) in no one else's eyes but his own, only to learn that he's developed powers of his own. Clancy Brown, of all people, was considered for the role potentially.
• In terms of the "cameos", that was just something they said to get eyes looking and interest in it. Instead of cameos, they're would've been just photo appearances and references like "That story in the tabloids that that U.S. Senator was an evolved human". However, the only character and actor who was gonna return and this time be a part of the new main cast was Samuel Sullivan with Robert Knepper reprising his role.
• Actors and actresses that were considered for the season were Raymond Cruz, Bryce Dallas Howard, Luke Gross, Thomas Haden Church, Kate Mara and even Michael Madsen. The main goal for the season was to go back to the roots and grounded nature of Season 1 and have the new season be "a character drama WITH superheroes rather than a show ABOUT superheroes just like how that first season was".
• Series creator Tim Kring was (thankfully) not gonna come back and be the showrunner because at the time he was too busy with another show he created for Fox, Touch with Kiefer Sutherland.
• But the most interesting thing with this is that apparently they wanted to have a couple of references and easter eggs to the events of other media that established a shared universe for the sole purpose of expanding the Heroes universe, "one would've been to the events of Brad Bird's The Incredibles, one would've been to the events of J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield, one would've been to the events of The X Files' series finale and another would've been to the events of Buffy The Vampire Slayer's series finale".
Now as for the reasons it fell through are a couple of but the big one is mainly budget. From what I understand, they wanted the season to have the same budget and production value of not just other streaming shows such as Orange Is The New Black and that Netflix political show that shall not be named but also other cable shows at the time such as The Walking Dead and the HBO fantasy series that shall not be named either. But it just ended up getting too big and too ambitious for its own good.
There's other reasons but that's the big one that killed it and it all fell apart.
But hey, at least it sounds better than the abominable Heroes Reborn.

... apart from me completely disagreeing with your assessment of the boys [apparently a really unpopular opinion (?) but i really liked West, he and Claire just didn't fit because she wanted to fight and he wanted to run (something something Han and Leia theory posts); and fucking hell what was the mess that was Alex's story/character. no just no just no.]
Claire and Gretchen did in fact get a resolution!! the shittiest one imaginable
(and no i will not tire telling people of this, because i want others to rage with me. putting it under the cut for Reborn novel spoilers, though.)
basically, after Claire reveals powers to the world, she becomes super famous overnight and everyone digs out every single scrap of information about her out that they can find. among that, apparently, a pic of her and Gretchen holding hands - outing them both.
and as a result, Gretchen furiously breaks up with Claire over text (how dare she become famous! and drag her down with her! out her [she never seemed concerned on the show so ig this is about her family..?] before she was ready! all her fault, totally) and then ghosts her, until after a few months, Claire finally stops trying.
i wish i was fucking kidding, but they made Gretchen blame Claire for outing her and broke them up so that Claire could have an extremist fuckboy's babies and die.
they really did that.
strange attractors. kind of like we could be?
#AND I WILL DIE MAD ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!#like G O D D A M N#claire x gretchen#nbc heroes#heroes reborn#kay don't look

more Eclipsed opinions (in articles this time)
one article, by Screenrant, contains one take i can't really see / don't agree with, and one i think is close to spot on:
the article criticizes refers to "a truncated storyline and clunky writing" in S2, and claims all subsequent seasons suffered from the lack of character development and dropped plotlines during that time. this..... i don't really agree with :'D like, how much did S2 really affect S3 and S4? not sure that holds too much water.
i really like the article's take on Reborn, however: they mainly name the terrible pacing of Reborn as the cause of it not hitting with the audience. too little time before the big stakes resulted in it feeling a lot less grounded than the original, is their opinion. and i can absolutely see where they're coming from!
in my opinion, Reborn had much bigger problems than that, but that doesn't make this take untrue or not refreshing to hear!
.
.
.
.
another article, by Inverse, has a very different, but very intriguing approach:
it's enthusiastic, i appreciate that 🥺
the idea here is that Heroes aired in a time without superhero stories that were independent of DC and Marvel, and today, that kind of thing is much more established (the success of shows like The Boys and The Umbrella Academy is cited). therefore, the show might be much better received now - hence the tagline: The world may finally be ready for more Heroes.
further, it also cites that the OG Heroes show used to run parallel to the popular show Lost, which might've cost it some fame as well. not sure how true that is (i wasn't there :'D), but i'll take any evidence a fresh start could do better / equally well today!

Everyone, I want to take full responsibility for this because I’ve been watching this series non-stop on all the streaming services, posting about it on YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter where I have refused to shut up about it at all. Constantly having “ideas” for what could happen next. I’ve written “scripts” for these potential scenarios that “may never happen.” But I still didn’t give up.
However, if it ends up like Heroes: Reborn… goodness. I tried to enjoy that series… but something about it was just so lackluster in comparison to it’s predecessor. (It had potential but it didn’t quite reach it) even with Heroes own flaws it wasn’t half as bad as Reborn, main issue; I didn’t feel much connection to any of the new characters… there wasn’t much to work with, and it’s a risk starting anew when someone is familiar and set on an idea so I tried to push that aside to enjoy it… however there was much I couldn’t just let go even if I wanted to. There was much ambiguity on what happened to certain characters and lack thereof (Peter, Emma, even Sylar) that was not satisfying enough. I am not someone who needs to be spoon fed things, and can respect the reason behind some characters exits, but however it felt like they were trying to push something out there for Peter’s disappearance without ever revealing it. (And when you remember they didn’t even try to contact Milo for this series— its no wonder he doesn’t want to come back now) although bringing back original characters only to kill them… that really added insult to injury. And even I think it’s okay to kill characters, Nathan Petrelli was my favorite, so I am not beyond allowing my favorites to die, it’s HOW you execute that, as long as it was written well there ain’t much you can complain about.
I do my best not to be the most nit picky person who expects a lot out of a show. I know the original had flaws, I personally have the most complaints about season 3 (I find the first half to be the weakest one of the series. I am very generous to season 2 due to the writers strike, it had a somewhat intriguing storyline.) So as we all know, I am not expecting anything show-stopping, there even are things in Reborn I felt had a lot of potential, which is a lot of the issue. It always comes back to wasted potential.
Which is why I hope this next chance isn’t wasted like Reborn!

Later that night:
Her phone rings at exactly the time the tarot card their father had left said to call. Not a second after the clock hits 10 PM, Or 9 PM in Carbondale, where the twins live. Molly smiles at her reflection to prepare to hit answer. She does. “Did you miss me?” She asks, the other side of the call showing a ceiling. “SEE! I told you it would be her!” Nathan exclaims, Malina shrieking in excitement as they turn the camera toward themselves, studying Molly’s face as she studies theirs in return. “Of course we missed you, Molly.” Malina says to break the silence. “We were so worried about you.” Nathan continues.
Molly blushes, rolling her eyes. “A little death doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world....Claire taught me that.” Suddenly, tears fill her eyes and she sets her phone down on the couch to collect herself. The kids don’t know what to say, but they give each other, and Anne, who is in the room with them a concerned look.
“I’m sorry.” --”It should be her here with you and not me.” Nathan tries to make her feel better, and smiles at the camera on his phone. “I’ll just boost that guys ability again and-” He’s cut off by Molly who refaces her phone toward herself. “He’s..not doing too well.” She rubs her temples. “It’s nothing you did, and I don’t think it’s due to a lack of a channel, like you used with each other, she gestures to both of them.
“How do you and...our....father...know about all of that?” They ask together.
Molly smiles. “Everything changed when Claire jumped off of the ferris wheel. I can’t tell you everything, but between your Bio-Dad-- Who you can call Hammer, by the way-- between the way that Hammer connected some dots and some psychic texts left behind from generations before us, he figured it out. And then he shared that information with me. And Only me, Hero Truther and the guy whose ability you boosted. --But Only me and Hero Truther know that you’re Hammer’s son. And only I and Hammer know your complete identity. Everyone else has promised to mind their own business.” They sit in silence for a minute, Molly allowing them to take in the new information. “And the guy whose ability I boosted, what is wrong with him?” Nathan pries, Molly, sighing says “He’s just....really tired. And he’s having trouble healing things. He can heal flowers-- barely, but it comes to animals he’s having trouble. And he can barely heal humans right now. I think he just needs to rest, I can’t imagine the power and energy you two used to reanimate a corpse-- and I’m not just a reanimated corpse, by the way.” Molly smiles in disbelief. “Like. It’s me. I have my own consciousness, I just feel like I took a really long nap....and lost all of the muscle and fat on my body...it was difficult for me to walk at first, but now I’m fine. This isn’t like that one storyline in Supernatural where Sam comes back without a soul. It’s really me, guys. I have my soul....if those exist.”
Nathan and Malina smile at Molly, then at each other, and Anne. Molly notices them look away and uses her ability to see who they’re looking at.
“Hey Anne, sorry for the lack of communication. I hope you’re not worried about the kids Biological father hanging around...He wouldn’t hurt a fly, really....unless like.....maybe that fly hurt someone he loves? I don’t know. But he’s just a big teddy bear. And a total nerd.”
“Thank God.” Anne says, still nervous.
Malina smiles at Molly and decides to be bold. “Grandma is afraid our biological father might be Sylar. Is he Sylar? Is Hammer Sylar?” A look of shock paints Molly’s face. “God no. Claire would have never slept with him. They were tolerating each other’s presence at the end, but they were almost never around each other. They worked in different groups. --And besides, I was one of the very few who even knew that Claire was dating someone, and one of the few that she told when she found out that she was pregnant. ....I also had you guys DNA tested when Hammer was in a coma. He is definitely your Biological father. Not Sylar.”
“WHAT?!” Everybody except Molly, including Hammer, who had just walked in the door exclaims.
Molly smirks “I trusted Claire, I knew she wouldn’t lie to me, but I figured it would be nice for everyone to have the DNA results when we could all get together to talk about this. Molly glances over at Hammer. “Angela was afraid you were Sylar, can you believe that?” She pauses before continuing while West stands there in disbelief. “Claire would be pissed if she knew the thought even crossed Angela’s mind....and hurt....she’d be so hurt.”
Before anybody could speak up, Molly smiles at the camera. “Well, Daddy dearest is going to make me dinner now, so I should probably go. But I’ll call you guys again soon. Stay in school! Don’t do drugs! Love you!” Molly hangs up, giggling. She uses her ability to watch the aftermath of what just happened.
“Oh relax, West. They’re relieved you’re not a retired serial killer.”
West sighs. “That’s...good, I guess.”
"You can't just ignore me." She screams into the phone before hanging up.
'HAMMER' flashes across her screen as she hits the button to try again. Sigh. He won't answer her and she knows it. He has this thing that he does when she calls. Where he just pretends like he can't hear his phone ringing, or like he can't feel it vibrating...or like he can't see it lighting up with her nickname on it when it's literally sitting right next to him.
Because he knows. He knows she's watching him. and the more she sees someone ignore her calls purposefully, the more it hurts her. So, for her sake, he will pretend like he doesn't know he's missing her calls.
Until--
*Six hours later* --Hammer enters the loft quietly, resetting the code on the alarm system before it goes off. He sets his balaclava and mask down on the kitchen island as he makes his way to the living space. He stops to watch Molly's back rise and fall while she sleeps. There are maps and pushpins scattered across the table in front of them, along with two whiteboards with nicknames and locations of their loved ones, and the names and locations of their enemies. "Shit." He thinks to himself. He shouldn't have been gone all day. Carefully stepping over levitating above the pins on the ground, he picks up the empty wine bottle and glasses, one stained for her and a second one, clean, waiting for him. He puts them in the sink and returns, picking up the pins and maps, setting them in piles. Red pins for enemies. Blue for Allies. He'll ignore the one red pin that she placed in the location he was in earlier. In fact, he will slowly remove it and put it away.
He slowly meets Molly's eyes with his own as her eyelids flutter open. He can tell by the disappointed and slightly hungover look on her face that she's upset with him. It kills him to see her so upset, but it kills him more to see her so...alone. The look in her eyes when she opened them, how she wasn't even surprised to see that he had snuck back inside, it hurts him. And it hurts him to hurt her. "Molly, I'm....trying." "Mhm." She responds, rolling over against the back of the couch. He grabs a blanket off the back of the recliner and lays it over her, crawling underneath of it as well to wrap his arms around her as he lays against her.
"I wish you would've left me in the Renautus Freezers." She whispers, causing a tear to roll down his cheek.
