So somehow I found myself rewatching Heroes, since I have season one and two on DVD.
I remembered Heroes Reborn when it came out in 2015, but then it wasn't up to par when I watched it. Suppose that it was years since high school when it was 2010, and I changed so much in 2015. Now that I noticed, a lot of reboots came. Sailor Moon, Digimon, maybe some other shows I can't remember.
Bottom line, I remembered this really inspirational quote I heard in the episode in 2015, and I really took it to heart since it really helped me at the time. (The show, even back in the 2000's was really inspirational and I suppose the show also helped inspired people to be heroes too.)
I bought Reborn on DVD yesterday and got it literally this morning. (Amazon really is boosting up. Didn't pay anything extra though.) I watched the episode and in the beginning I didn't hear that quote.
Maybe it was in a different episode or something or later on?
That's what marathons are for, lol.

I felt like complaining about the endings of all 4 seasons of heroes
I don't have much to say about the first season. The ending of season 1 was definitely the best written of the entire series. From the first to the last episode, you can see that there was an idea for a character story. There were worse moments, but it wasn't that bad. A big minus was what turned out in the next seasons, that the creators don't have a good idea for continuing the stories of some characters.
The second season has the most complicated situation. The writers' strike did not affect the quality of season 2 well. I have to admit that even if I fully support their decision. The main plot was the weakest. It looked like someone cut the story halfway and immediately jumped to the end, except the ending was lacking. Many characters introduced in this season were wasted. Adam, Maya, Monica, Caitlin (poor girl), and even Elle. Even if I am a fan of Elle and Sylar, I think it did Elle's character no good to be romantically involved with Sylar. It's just my feelings, but I have the impression that Sylar will overshadow Elle too much in their scenes together (the cursed charm of ZQ), and it often felt like the writers had no idea what to do with Elle (Kristen Bell, your performance was amazing).
Returning to the plot of season 2. I think it would definitely be better if the plot with the virus was brought to an end according to the original idea (at least the character of Maya would not be useless). The idea with Matt's father was quite interesting (at least in my opinion), that was a plus. The ending of the mini arc with Sylar in season 2 was definitely the best. I will not write anything about Mohinder whose story in the cross-section of the entire series was sinusoidal. I have to admit whoever came up with the idea of shooting Nathan, that it was a pretty bold move considering the whole of season 2.
I will divide the third season into 2 volumes.
The first part of season 3 was more interesting than season 2 in my opinion. But the ending was a bit... uninventive. Arthur Petrelli's character was boring (I admit that as a fan of this type of villain). I'm glad that at least it wasn't Peter who shot Arthur. I liked the whole Bennett family plot (I'm talking about the whole season in general). Sylar had that embarrassing teenage moment of growing up. But overall, I consider this volume positive.
Part two (sighs heavily) 2 words - wasted potential. This idea was so good that I don't even know why it didn't work out. My biggest complaint will be Danko. Why didn't they have an idea for one of the main characters of this season? Moving on to the ending, I'll be a bit biased because I really liked Nathan in the third season. Moving on to my opinion... What the hell, Angela?! This was one of the most fucked up ideas this woman has ever come up with, and she was a real bitch (excuse my language) *sigh*.
I do not share the opinion of some fans that season 4 was better than season 3. It was clear that the problem from the previous season was continued, that there was no clear good idea for the season as a whole. There were individual good things in this season but that's all. Samuel had the potential to be an interesting villain, although in my opinion he had the same problem as Arthur - he was boringly written. At least this season justice was done to Hiro. Which I cannot say about Peter who came off badly this season. The whole Nathan - Sylar plot, although it was sometimes confusing, was ultimately a plus. I do not complain about the Sylar redemption arc. I will even say that I am very glad that this arc took place. Claire was better this season (although I could not watch all those Sylar/Claire scenes - of course I have nothing against fans of the ship, everyone can like what they want). Claire revealing to the whole world that there are people with powers was... good? interesting? whatever word you use, it was definitely the ending that the series has been craving since the beginning of this season. It's a pity there wasn't a 5th season.
I'll probably be biased again because I really liked this series and it became important to me; that's why I'll say that I have a feeling that season 5 could be better. Unfortunately, we had heroes reborn, which I won't say much about for now because I still haven't finished watching it. Although after halfway through I can say - wasted potential.
I hope in my heart that Heroes Eclipsed will be created and will be as good as Season 1. This series had many flaws but I think it can be said that it was iconic. Especially Season 1, which definitely left a mark on superhero series in a comics style. Heroes have a special place in my heart and I would like this series to gain more love from new fans.

more Eclipsed opinions (in articles this time)
one article, by Screenrant, contains one take i can't really see / don't agree with, and one i think is close to spot on:
the article criticizes refers to "a truncated storyline and clunky writing" in S2, and claims all subsequent seasons suffered from the lack of character development and dropped plotlines during that time. this..... i don't really agree with :'D like, how much did S2 really affect S3 and S4? not sure that holds too much water.
i really like the article's take on Reborn, however: they mainly name the terrible pacing of Reborn as the cause of it not hitting with the audience. too little time before the big stakes resulted in it feeling a lot less grounded than the original, is their opinion. and i can absolutely see where they're coming from!
in my opinion, Reborn had much bigger problems than that, but that doesn't make this take untrue or not refreshing to hear!
.
.
.
.
another article, by Inverse, has a very different, but very intriguing approach:
it's enthusiastic, i appreciate that 🥺
the idea here is that Heroes aired in a time without superhero stories that were independent of DC and Marvel, and today, that kind of thing is much more established (the success of shows like The Boys and The Umbrella Academy is cited). therefore, the show might be much better received now - hence the tagline: The world may finally be ready for more Heroes.
further, it also cites that the OG Heroes show used to run parallel to the popular show Lost, which might've cost it some fame as well. not sure how true that is (i wasn't there :'D), but i'll take any evidence a fresh start could do better / equally well today!

Everyone, I want to take full responsibility for this because I’ve been watching this series non-stop on all the streaming services, posting about it on YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter where I have refused to shut up about it at all. Constantly having “ideas” for what could happen next. I’ve written “scripts” for these potential scenarios that “may never happen.” But I still didn’t give up.
However, if it ends up like Heroes: Reborn… goodness. I tried to enjoy that series… but something about it was just so lackluster in comparison to it’s predecessor. (It had potential but it didn’t quite reach it) even with Heroes own flaws it wasn’t half as bad as Reborn, main issue; I didn’t feel much connection to any of the new characters… there wasn’t much to work with, and it’s a risk starting anew when someone is familiar and set on an idea so I tried to push that aside to enjoy it… however there was much I couldn’t just let go even if I wanted to. There was much ambiguity on what happened to certain characters and lack thereof (Peter, Emma, even Sylar) that was not satisfying enough. I am not someone who needs to be spoon fed things, and can respect the reason behind some characters exits, but however it felt like they were trying to push something out there for Peter’s disappearance without ever revealing it. (And when you remember they didn’t even try to contact Milo for this series— its no wonder he doesn’t want to come back now) although bringing back original characters only to kill them… that really added insult to injury. And even I think it’s okay to kill characters, Nathan Petrelli was my favorite, so I am not beyond allowing my favorites to die, it’s HOW you execute that, as long as it was written well there ain’t much you can complain about.
I do my best not to be the most nit picky person who expects a lot out of a show. I know the original had flaws, I personally have the most complaints about season 3 (I find the first half to be the weakest one of the series. I am very generous to season 2 due to the writers strike, it had a somewhat intriguing storyline.) So as we all know, I am not expecting anything show-stopping, there even are things in Reborn I felt had a lot of potential, which is a lot of the issue. It always comes back to wasted potential.
Which is why I hope this next chance isn’t wasted like Reborn!

SAUCE? SAUCE? CALL ME GORDON RAMSAY THE WAY I WANNA KNOW WHERE IS THE SAUCE
I don’t want a lot for Christmas, this is all Im asking for: I just wanna see this interview, placed directly at my front door!! MAKE MY WISH COME TRUE BABY ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS TO SEE THIS INTERVIEW
This might interest you. Milo did an interview where he revealed why he didn't return for reborn and he revealed Peter was going to go away for a long time and pop back up at the end which the end had the return of tommy/malina's father.
Hmmmm.
I doubt they would have made Peter the father of Claire's children, but it would have been great if everything added up to make it seem like he was.
ETA:
Indeed although Milo not returning for the ending could explain why it didn't showed the father's face when it showed him in a trench coat/hair like Peter's, and Angela knew who the father was. Plus I still remember when Robbie Kay said Tommy was Peter/Claire put together.

Best regards,
Your friend and guardian angel,
Angelo.
1- Marc Anthony is like Noah Bennet. (adoptive father).
2- Christina Santini is like Claire Bennet. (adoptive daughter).
Who is Claire Bennet?
Claire Bennet is a key character in the NBC psychological thriller and superhero drama series Heroes, portrayed by Hayden Panettiere. She first appeared in the pilot episode, "Genesis," on September 25, 2006. Claire, a high school cheerleader, possesses the extraordinary ability of rapid cellular regeneration, allowing her to heal quickly from any injury.
Throughout the series, Claire appears in more episodes than any other character, totaling 72 episodes, with a 73rd appearance through stock footage. In the continuation series Heroes Reborn, Claire dies while giving birth to her twins, Malina and Tommy.
Claire's power grants her an incredibly high pain tolerance. While she feels pain as intensely as anyone else, her ability swiftly dulls it. The series writers, Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite, noted that Claire "feels pain, but not the way most of us do." Claire herself explains to her friend West, "I feel pain; I just get over it quickly." This combination of pain tolerance and rapid healing has led to comparisons between Claire and the X-Men character Wolverine, though Claire is "less hairy and without claws," as Hayden Panettiere humorously points out.
After having her brain examined by the antagonist Sylar, Claire mentions that she no longer feels physical pain at all.
Who is Noah Bennet (adoptive father).
Noah Bennet, portrayed by Jack Coleman, is a major character in the NBC drama Heroes and its sequel series Heroes Reborn. Initially an anti-hero, Noah evolves into a hero in Heroes Reborn.
At first glance, Noah Bennet appears to be an ordinary businessman working for the Primatech Paper Company and living in Odessa, Texas, with his wife Sandra and their two children, Claire and Lyle. However, beneath this facade, Noah and his associates travel the world investigating superhuman phenomena, tracking down, and experimenting on individuals with extraordinary abilities.
Noah operates in a morally gray area, earning him the moniker of "Company Man," as he executes the often dubious orders of the company. Despite his professional duties, Noah's true allegiance lies with his family, revealing a complex character driven by both duty and a deep sense of familial loyalty.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN:
Back in 2013/14, Microsoft was looking to get in on the success of streaming with Netflix and Hulu having become break-out hits with their content, especially Netflix with its ORIGINAL content, through the XBOX system. For a while, they were looking for anything that could be XBOX original programming or that they could develop as. Yes, you all read that right, at one point Microsoft/XBOX were looking to start up and have their own original shows to compete or rather get in on the juicy Netflix/Hulu piece of pie. And what was originally going to be XBOX's first original series — a fifth season of the NBC superhero drama, Heroes.
No, seriously.
Here's all of the information that someone who used to work there around that time had given me on this piece of cancelled media since I devour these type of things or basically collect them like jewels:
• The little synopsis they gave at the time was it would feature "new stories and heroes, while mixing in cameos from the original series' cast". However the actual premise for the season was it was gonna be set a few years after "Volume Five: Redemption" and Claire Bennett having revealed the existence of evolved humans to the world with not only them being public knowledge but the number of them have been growing and growing every year all the while a new government-related threat arises.
• The new main protagonist of the series was to be Roger Deakins, a now worn-out police captain who wants to atone for his past mistakes (the main one ended up costing the life of his partner/close friend) in no one else's eyes but his own, only to learn that he's developed powers of his own. Clancy Brown, of all people, was considered for the role potentially.
• In terms of the "cameos", that was just something they said to get eyes looking and interest in it. Instead of cameos, they're would've been just photo appearances and references like "That story in the tabloids that that U.S. Senator was an evolved human". However, the only character and actor who was gonna return and this time be a part of the new main cast was Samuel Sullivan with Robert Knepper reprising his role.
• Actors and actresses that were considered for the season were Raymond Cruz, Bryce Dallas Howard, Luke Gross, Thomas Haden Church, Kate Mara and even Michael Madsen. The main goal for the season was to go back to the roots and grounded nature of Season 1 and have the new season be "a character drama WITH superheroes rather than a show ABOUT superheroes just like how that first season was".
• Series creator Tim Kring was (thankfully) not gonna come back and be the showrunner because at the time he was too busy with another show he created for Fox, Touch with Kiefer Sutherland.
• But the most interesting thing with this is that apparently they wanted to have a couple of references and easter eggs to the events of other media that established a shared universe for the sole purpose of expanding the Heroes universe, "one would've been to the events of Brad Bird's The Incredibles, one would've been to the events of J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield, one would've been to the events of The X Files' series finale and another would've been to the events of Buffy The Vampire Slayer's series finale".
Now as for the reasons it fell through are a couple of but the big one is mainly budget. From what I understand, they wanted the season to have the same budget and production value of not just other streaming shows such as Orange Is The New Black and that Netflix political show that shall not be named but also other cable shows at the time such as The Walking Dead and the HBO fantasy series that shall not be named either. But it just ended up getting too big and too ambitious for its own good.
There's other reasons but that's the big one that killed it and it all fell apart.
But hey, at least it sounds better than the abominable Heroes Reborn.

... apart from me completely disagreeing with your assessment of the boys [apparently a really unpopular opinion (?) but i really liked West, he and Claire just didn't fit because she wanted to fight and he wanted to run (something something Han and Leia theory posts); and fucking hell what was the mess that was Alex's story/character. no just no just no.]
Claire and Gretchen did in fact get a resolution!! the shittiest one imaginable
(and no i will not tire telling people of this, because i want others to rage with me. putting it under the cut for Reborn novel spoilers, though.)
basically, after Claire reveals powers to the world, she becomes super famous overnight and everyone digs out every single scrap of information about her out that they can find. among that, apparently, a pic of her and Gretchen holding hands - outing them both.
and as a result, Gretchen furiously breaks up with Claire over text (how dare she become famous! and drag her down with her! out her [she never seemed concerned on the show so ig this is about her family..?] before she was ready! all her fault, totally) and then ghosts her, until after a few months, Claire finally stops trying.
i wish i was fucking kidding, but they made Gretchen blame Claire for outing her and broke them up so that Claire could have an extremist fuckboy's babies and die.
they really did that.
strange attractors. kind of like we could be?
#AND I WILL DIE MAD ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!#like G O D D A M N#claire x gretchen#nbc heroes#heroes reborn#kay don't look
