How the Nazi justified the murdering of innocent lives.
The one thing that really intrigues me about the Holocaust and other horrific events throughout history is ,how do people justify killing and torturing fellow human beings. It will take an awful lot before I would hurt another human being, only when I would be physically threatened I would resort to a physical defense. The Nazi’s didn’t see the Jews, Roma Sinti, disabled and homosexuals as human…

Big reminder that your country is not immune to bigotry. I've seen so many people, for example, pretend like antisemitism doesn't exist in the USA because we were part of the allied forces in WWII (of course, they conveniently don't remember that we rejected jewish refugees when WWII broke out and we only really joined because Pearl Harbor was bombed, but I digress).
If you think your country is immune from antisemitism, racism (including anti-Indigenous racism), class issues, ableism, whatever else it may be, look deeper because you will find it.

"Nazi Town, USA" is a 2024 feature in PBS's American Experience series. It looks into the surprising degree of influence which Nazis had in the United States in the 1930s. There were even Nazi summer camps for kids.
It can be viewed (probably for a limited amount of time) at the series link above. Here's a preview...
youtube
To explore the topic more deeply, check out Rachel Maddow's excellent 8-episode podcast Ultra.
Rachel Maddow Presents: Ultra | an MSNBC original podcast
Ultra has somewhat more emphasis on Nazi attempts to penetrate government.
Those espousing Nazi-friendly views in the 1930s did not disappear when the US entered World War II and fascism became very unfashionable. Those half-hidden feelings hibernated and occasionally emerged from time to time to poison discourse and endanger democracy. There are obvious echos of that movement today.

so Candace Owens has been fired from the Daily Wire, allegedly for making claims about Rabbis drinking the blood of Christian babies. The replies to the tweet by the Daily Wire's CEO announcing her firing are definitely not full of neo-Nazis pledging their support for her, so that's cool

or maybe it’s that sexual violence is an especially traumatic, indefensible, & violating form of violence that goyim keep subjecting Jews to, and the fact that Hamas did rape other victims in the massacre makes it a very reasonable fear for a hostage who is completely powerless to have—which runs counter to the bogus narrative that Hamas is engaging in justifiable violent “resistance”
but sure, accuse Jews of KKK propaganda

saw a post last night complaining that the sound of music film and its popularity contribute to the "universalization of the holocaust" and that by depicting an austrian catholic gentile family's opposition to the nazi regime instead of being about jews, it paints some kind of false picture of who the nazis' real targets were. and i'm sorry but that is such a narrow minded, externally motivated reading of the film/musical. and i say this as a jew who broadly agrees that holocaust universalization and the sidelining of "the jewish problem" (as it was known in that era) in film and media is a genuine and pervasive problem. the sound of music...that is really not the right target for your ire, my friend
#sasha speaks#like yeah it is annoying when people spam reblog that gif of georg ripping up the nazi flag right after posting antisemitism#that sucks and i wish it wasn't do prevalent. i also wish antisemitism in general were not so prevalent but yknow.#baby steps or whatever.#but anyway it's not the sound of music's fault that people are using that gif a bunch but misunderstanding nazism#and its specific primary targeting of jews (and romani)#A. i actually don't think it's invalid or bad to show stories about gentiles being threatened by/opposing nazism.#that Was a real thing that happened. the trapp family were in fact real people even if their story is somewhat fictionalized#in the musical#it takes place in 1938. therefore before the holocaust proper had begun#(not that persecution of jews wasn't already a huge thing. the november pogrom was the same year of course.)#but even while racial hatred of jews and romani Was the primary characteristic of nazism and should be recognized and depicted as such#it is not misleading or distracting to also depict the real experience of white gentiles who were threatened by nazism#like. one drop in the bucket. two cakes. whateved#also. and this feels so blatantly obvious to me i shouldnt need to spell it out but.#B. the sound of music was written by two jews in the late 1950s.#it's...it's just not. it's not an example. of a bad faith depiction of wwii/its lead up#sometimes stories are about other things. even when the authors could have made it about more personal subjects to themselves#and the era in which it was created had a very different attitude towards and contrxt for depictions of wwii (& preceding) in media#if you want to get mad at people misinterpreting a musical about the rise of nazism go look on twitter or tiktok for cabaret discourse...#now that's an audience that knows how to miss the gddamn point

If you are a medical provider you are getting one chance to walk out from your job and start a private practice of some type of holistic medicine or choosing a different path, as you have been aiding and abetting a corporate cycle of for-profit death bringers. The medicines and treatments you prescribe only cause more symptoms for which you prescribe even more corporate chemical weapons in an endless cycle of enriching people who think you beneath them at the expensive of the common folk. None of you can accurately describe the cause-and-effect of any of the illnesses you diagnose without using incomplete or circular logic, even though the logic is there, it’s just not profitable. Hospitals are tax-shields built from the “donations” of billionaire families that got rich off manufacturing chemical and nuclear weapons during World War II, and even the non-profit ones are quite profitable. Just research and connect the dots for yourself yee that have little faith. This is your last chance before your family and communities are turned against you. Covid-19 should have been your last straw. I’m surprised at how many of you don’t pass out from the stress of your cognitive dissonance.

youre literally making up a guy to get mad at to stick it to nazis over listening to actual jewish voices. we dont need the fucking goyim defense squad making up shit to skew our jewish values. stay away from us. our posts, our culture. honest to god just stay out of any nazi discourse because you only do more harm to us than any good
"stay away from us" but I didn't approach anyone. I made a comment on a public poll and someone replied to me :)

catch me laughing in the club awkwardly because this season has a 19 year old blonde female companion from London, a space travelling left of law brunette queer boy who flirts heavily with the doctor, absolutely zero writers of colour and no mention of sensitivity readers…….and next season the new companion is a woman of colour. uh oh!
#he’s not stupid enough to do Martha again but be REAL with me. do you think this man can handle writing for a brown woman and a black man#and make it in any way genuinely tasteful. the one race he’s punched down and the other he’s basically ignored during his tenure :/#rtd seems to think because he has the lived experience of the great struggles of being queer in the 80s and onwards#which was a serious struggle and came with its issues#that he understands being a person of colour? like he wrote an episode about racism and then laughed about not needing a sensitivity reader#before he handed it off to ncuti. but it needed one because it was a stupid episode because he’s white and moreover#seems to think he understands WITHOUT actually getting any of the nuance. which makes it worse.#im just concerned to put it lightly#like chibnall’s bad habit was ‘good episode followed by a bad episode so bad you forget the good episode even existed’#but at least he got writers of colour in to make some of those episodes! he actually cared! and also fumbled real bad (nazi uniform… ://)#still. he actually gave it a pretty good shot and opened some doors behind the scenes. like the writer’s room which is just as important#and also in the scenes tbf like yaz and ryan sharing scenes as poc companions during the same run was groundbreaking#and rtd just closed them again going actually no im doctor who’s most specialist boy and we should do my run all over again#stop this man. get someone new in. he is not much better than chibnall rn like he is not batting hits#stop letting the world’s most charismatic doctor (ncuti i will get rid of regeneration to keep you. i love you. wish you had better writing)#distract you from the fact RTD is doing a ‘biggest hits’ tour rn. stop him!!!!!!! please can we have a showrunner of colour! a woman! please#rtd critical#doctor who#dw

Returning to Paris, I had to pay. With rage in my heart and often tears in my eyes (the makeup artist Chakatouny lamented each morning my poor appearance, and couldn't make me look any better), I made one film — just one — to guarantee the freedom of a person I loved. I was ugly, terrible; everything in me refused to be. I still remember the look of my [screen] partner Raymond Rouleau (who knew Igor and the causes of my breakdown) studying me and trying in vain to give me a little encouragement!
— Edwige Feuillère reflecting on the making of Mam'zelle Bonaparte (1942) and aiding the escape of her fiancé (named here as Igor) from Nazi-occupied France
(From Les Feux de la mémoire by Edwige Feuillère, 1977. Translated by me. ♡)

So for me as someone who has experienced intense mania and psychosis (not saying that this is what Taylor herself has experienced but this is what a lot of TTPD especially the standard track list emotionally reminds me of) I cannot imagine experiencing a very bad mental health episode while having the whole world watching your every step, every thing you say at your sold out concerts and every where you go out and about in your day to day life.
The idea of that is terrifying to me so for Taylor to have turned that experience into a double album that does not shy away from those public experiences and in fact is deeply centred around them I think is incredibly brave.
Does that mean everyone has to like the album or think it’s great? Of course not! I have my own issues with it as an album as a music enjoyer but as a mentally ill person there is something really beautiful about TTPD is so… shameless? Unflinching? In its description of making mistakes, bad choices, choices that seem so out of pocket in such a public setting. To me it feels like in TTPD Taylor* is refusing to be defined by any one aspect of herself.
*by Taylor I mean Taylor Swift the artist/the muse/the Frankenstein’s monster and not the real person because obviously I don’t know her

okay I’m gonna be real here. I do not care if you like vivziepop shows. I do not care if you post angel dust fanart or whatever. what I do care about, though, is if you genuinely support viv herself. she has shown to be racist, antisemitic, homophobic, and just an overall bad person who doesn’t treat her animators well. pirate the stupid misogynistic demon shows if you have to watch them. you shouldn’t be giving vivziepop or amazon money.
