currents the true story of mipha's grace. NPC POV (Mipha) | BotW | multichapter | rated T | incomplete - on hiatus
A thematic successor to "desire path" and "thank you for listening" in which we are getting zelink from a NPC POV as well as a metaphor through nature. I wanted to give Mipha some love because I often seen (and have done this myself) her placed in a negative or shallow light with respect to Link and Zelda's relationship in botw. I also believe deeply you can love someone completely and not be meant for each other and that is okay. Follows Mipha's diary entries/Champions' Ballad.
Tumblr media
begin again - also posted on tumblr A story for @zelinkcommunity zelink week 2023 set between BotW and Totk. A stab at explaining lots of the changes seen in TotK, specifically what happens to the Sheikah Technology. Zelda POV | pre -TotK | multichapter | rated T | complete!
The Calamity is gone. The remaining leaders of Hyrule gather for a Summit to determine the future of the kingdom, starting with how to repurpose all the Sheikah Technology. Zelda is among them, and while everyone still calls her Princess, she’s not sure she wants to lay claim to an old throne. What she really wants is to move on. She wants to continue her research, to prove her worth beyond her bloodline, and to spend as much time with Link as she can…which sounds an awful lot like what she wanted a hundred years ago…
desire path for @zelinktines24 2023 for the prompt “Oh no” NPC POV (Impa) | pre-BotW | rated G | oneshot - complete!
Impa is given a secret assignment from the King just before she is to escort Zelda and Link back to Kakariko Village for the festival of Sahasra’s Pass: make sure their arrangement is not creating “unnecessary distractions.” It seems silly for the King to be so concerned about such an implausible matter. Anyone with two eyes can see they clearly despise each other. Impa forgets she has three.
✨ amazing fanart from @marimbles
✨amazing fanart from @pitchblackespresso like someone would for @zelinkcommunity Zelink week 2022 for the prompt "statue" A love letter to side quests. Link POV | BotW | rated M | multichapter | complete!
Her voice is the string of reassurances and warnings whispered in his ear from the moment he opened his eyes. She calls out for your help. So he goes, underprepared and overconfident, in the opposite direction of Kakariko Village because a hundred years is long enough and a princess needs his help and he was someone once. (Or, Link realizes destiny is awfully hard thing to shake.)
thank you for listening NPC POV (Kass) | post BotW |rated G | short and sweet | complete!
The ancient songs collected, his teacher’s last ballad complete, and still Kass can’t help but miss the thrill of the strange Hylian’s company.  With his ever patient ear, often turned deliberately toward the accordion with his eyes closed, it was like the melody was more than just a pleasant tune. Like Kass was offering a prayer and Link was waiting for an answer.

Twelve years after the events of Tears of the Kingdom, the Master Sword tells Link it is finally time to put it back.
The Killing Moon BotW 1.5 before we got TotK so it's one giant guessing game leading up to what we see in the trailers. Also features my guess at the title, which I'll pat myself on the back, was pretty damn close. Heavy angst, deep dive into PTSD/trauma* Link POV | BotW 1.5 | rated E | multichapter | complete!
She asks if he remembers her. He doesn’t answer. There is quiet longing between them in moments when they are alone that Link still cannot place. He thinks he needs time but Hyrule won’t grant them peace. Especially not when there is a kingdom to rebuild and the Blood Moon still rises. But Link doesn’t want to rebuild, he just wants-

Keep up climate and nature momentum until COP30, 70 leaders tell Brazil and Colombia
The likes of Christiana Figueres, Paul Polman and Richard Branson have joined dozens of business leaders, scientists and Indigenous leaders in urging world leaders not to drop the ball on climate and nature in the year ahead.
Tumblr media
A collective call to action from the 70 individuals and organisations has been made of Brazil – the host nation for next year’s UN climate summit (COP30) – and of Colombia, which this year hosted the bi-annual UN biodiversity summit (COP26).
An open letter from the coalition recognises “integrated action” to date on combatting climate change, conserving and restoring nature, ensuing food security and enhancing Indigenous rights.
But it states that far more rapid, far-reaching and joined-up action is needed going forward.
“As hosts of COP16 and COP30, Colombia and Brazil can forge an enduring partnership that will guide the world by demonstrating the interconnectedness of climate and nature,” states the letter.
“Together, you can champion bold action to ensure our efforts to protect nature are aligned with climate action, while placing the urgent transformation of our food systems at the heart of our shared mission for a sustainable future.

EcoAthletes is saddened to learn about the passing of Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, honorary member of the Grateful Dead, avid cyclist, and environmentalist Bill Walton at 71 of cancer.
The 2-time NCAA Champ at UCLA, 2-time NBA Champ (Portland, Boston), and longtime hoops announcer spoke at a couple of PAC-12 conference green summits, intoning in his inimitable baritone, “Live Green or Die”. Maybe not our exact message but still his heart was in the right place.
It is ironic that the Big Redhead passed one day after his beloved Pac 12 (“The Conference of Champions!”) held its last ever sporting event.
Now, for those of you too young to have seen Walton play, or to know his one-of-a-kind story, we heartily recommend ‘I’m the Luckiest Guy In The World,’ the 4-part ESPN 30-for-30 documentary. In the meantime, we at EcoAthletes amp up our commitment to the climate comeback in Walton’s memory. Or as he would likely say, quoting The Dead’s ‘Sugar Magnolia’: “We can discover the wonders of nature!” Rest in peace!

Gale’s Analysis: Hajime No Ippo: How a man becomes a Monster?
Tumblr media
In the World of Hajime no Ippo, there are powerful boxers that Takamura described as Monsters.
Often used to describe those who reached the pinnacle of the Boxing world.
Takamura himself is a self proclaimed Monster (which is under no dispute)
Tumblr media
He explains that in the World of Boxing, to be a World champion, one must become a monster, he illustrates that beyond the line is where Monsters live. At this Time, Ippo was fighting to see how far his training could take him.
When this happened Takamura could see the lack of personal motivation, as well as the accumulated damage Ippo was under. He was using this explanation as a warning, that he would not survive unless something changed within him.
Takamura never really explains what it means to be a monster. But by reading the manga we actually can see the 4 requirements for becoming a monster.
1. Training
2. Talent
3. Motivation
4. Ego/Spirit
At the time, Ippo was lacking in The later two. He had the training and work ethic, he had the talent of a hard puncher, but the motivation and Ego were not there. He didn’t have the confidence to believe he could reach the summit.
Ippo loves boxing, but his main goal was never to win, it was to come back in one piece. So that he could run his family’s fishing business. It was never about being a champion.
And that’s why Ippo at the time could never have been more than he is.
But surprisingly, Ippo in his retirement has started to become the monster he wasn’t.
How is that possible?
Well let’s look
Training:
Ippo still does his roadwork, and is working out on a level one would say an active boxer would. His training while focused on nurturing his students is arguably even MORE intense than usual.
Talent:
Ippo’s strength and analytical sense has actually grown even further after recovering from the accumulated damage. It’s no question he’s still has his natural punch.
Motivation:
Ironically his goal of being a second has made him so focused on improvement that he is able to contend with World champion level fighters. Keeping up with Takamura during his training, and WHILE WEARING WEIGHTS.
Ego/Spirit:
Now you will notice I put Ego/Spirit. Ego being one’s self value. But Ego in the sense of pride/self worth isn’t the only means to be a champion. We actually see an example of this in Volg. Who doesn’t view himself as above or below others. That’s where spirit comes in. Spirit is meant to represent the will to push forward, to achieve their goal. Ippo’s motivation to be a second has pushed him so far in spirit that he is arguably world level even in retirement and even able to mimic the styles of CURRENT champions.
However, Ippo still isn’t a monster. Not yet. But he’s close.
Because there is one final step to becoming a monster, one I didn’t mention.
One that Takamura himself says.
“Cross the line.”
Tumblr media
It’s the trigger to ascend to the level, surpass one’s limits and let your dream become manifest. You must give up being Human.
He needs the Resolve/Spirit to go beyond.
And by the time Hajime no Ippo is at its end.
We will see Ippo transform from Man to Monster.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated: June 1994
HOGAN VS. STING YES! (Well, sort of)
Last May they had a “Superstar Summit’ in Japan. Now Sting is guest-starring on Hogan’s new TV series, Thunder In Paradise, and the action on the set has been stirring. Who knows–their next meeting could be in the ring…
By Dave Lenker
Photos by Neal Nachman
[Jimmy Hart is ready for action on Hulk Hogan’s new syndicated series Thunder In Paradise (left). WCW star Sting has a recurring role as Hogan’s antagonist (Above).
The wait had been such a long one. For years, wrestling fans have been anticipating the ultimate clash of their superheroes. In one corner, three-time WCW World champion Sting. In the other, five-time WWF World titleholder and the most popular wrestler of all-time, Hulk Hogan.
If they ever did come to blows, where would it happen? New York’s Madison Square Garden? Atlanta’s Omni? Toronto’s SkyDome? Japan’s Tokyo Dome?... A swamp in Orlando, Florida? That’s right–a swamp in Orlando.
There they were, the “Hulkster” and the “Stinger,” violently struggling on a boat, fierce determination showing on the faces of both men. A few minutes later, they’re standing waist-deep in the chilly water. Sting charges at Hogan, large tree branch in hand. Hulk anticipates the move and sends him crashing into the water with a well-timed back-bodydrop.
That doesn’t stop Sting. More ferocious than ever, he scoops up his foreign object, scrambles out of the water, and continues swinging the branch. Soon he’s got the “Hulkster” pinned against a tree. Sting attempts to choke Hogan, but is thwarted. Hogan seizes his chances and wears down Sting with a sleeperhold.
The action continues unhindered for a few more minutes, then comes to an abrupt halt when the director yells, “Cut!”
[Perhaps someday the “Hulkster” and the “Stringer” will exchange moves like these in the wrestling ring. It’s been a while since Sting used a foreign object … or was without face paint, for that matter!
Sting and Hogan go at it during fight scenes. Thunder In Paradise will air in most U.S. television markets this spring and was created by the people behind the phenomenally successful Baywatch.]
After that it’s all smiles. Sting and Hogan towel off, wrap themselves in jackets, and discuss how they might make the scene even better in the next take.
No, this was no bizarre specialty match created by an overzealous wrestling promoter. All the movies were choreographed by the director of Thunder In Paradise. There are still no definite plans for Sting and Hogan to go toe-to-toe in the ring. For now, we’ll have to settle for this, the next best thing.
Thunder In Paradise is Hogan’s new syndicated action-adventure TV series. The two-hour pilot was scheduled to air in most markets on March 21, with weekly one-hour episodes starting the following week. Hogan plays ex-Navy SEAL Hurricane Spencer, while Sting has a recurring role as Hammerhead, an ex-SEAL gone bad. (He hadn’t been a rulebreaker since his UWF days.)
Chris Lemmon and Carol Alt are Hogan’s main co-stars. Also appearing regularly are wrestlers Brutus Beefcake and Jim Neidhart, as well as Hulk’s manager, Jimmy, the leader of a reggae band. Added to the mix of course, are several dozen buxom, bikini-clad beauties. What else would you expect from the people who created Baywatch, the world’s most watched syndicated series?
[Hogan and Sting practice a stunt they will shoot shortly (left). Sting relies on the “Hulkster’s” acting experience for guidance. They keep warm after a fight in the water (below); might they be pondering a bout on canvas?]
“We have a great cast and crew here,” said Hogan, who is also one of the show’s executive producers. “Sting is a natural in front of the camera. Even though we were just acting, he showed me just how tough he is. I’m glad I’m not caught in a feud with him.”
“Acting is a lot of fun,” said Sting. “Hulk is a pro. He helped me out a lot out there. I guess you could say it was like a swamp death match that we had.”
“I’d be lying to you if I told you I didn’t think a little bit about what it would be like to wrestle Hulk for real, in a wrestling ring somewhere, with about 50,000 fans screaming their lungs out for us. Maybe someday.”
[Bottom: From left, Brutus Beefcake, Hogan, Hart, Him Neidhart, and Chris Lemmon, as well as the reasons Thunder In Paradise is expected to be a smash hit.]

“breaking down mid-hug because they just needed this so much “
You know what I want: the mother-daughter reunion of Keyleth and Vilya.
breaking down mid-hug because they just needed this so much
Many things change in two decades. Children become adults. Saplings become sprawling trees. A tiny hamlet in the mountains becomes a bustling town of growing importance on the world stage.
(A gaping wound becomes a scar, dully aching but ever-present.)
At the center stands a woman, unchanged in these two decades, and in many more to come. All of Tal'dorei knows the Voice of the Tempest, a champion of righteousness and hero of the realm. She is a leader to her people, a fierce advocate for the betterment of all societies, an apostle of the natural world. People come to Zephrah to seek her wisdom, and she travels beyond its borders to maintain the balance, maintain the peace.
Only her friends, those she is closest to, still see Kiki. Only when she slips away to Whitestone, to hide in a grand castle and become a great cat to the amusement of her nieces and nephews, does even she remember the person she once was. (The person he fell in love with.) She doesn't mind it, though. There is beauty in the responsibility, a freedom; as long as she is the Tempest, she has tasks to accomplish, wrongs to right, many things to fill her endless days. And when she goes to bed at night, she is so exhausted by the day's flurry of activity that she slips quickly into sleep, and when she wakes, she mercifully does not remember her dreams. (Usually.)
The day is like any other. She can hardly tell them apart anymore. She is in the center of Zephrah, shortly before the sun disappears below the Summit Peaks, with a handful of the Air Ashari's most important advisors. They're discussing an upcoming pilgrimage to Terrah—no more will the Ashari be artificially separated by time, not when Keyleth can connect them in all in an instant—as they sit among the benches around the grand cherry tree in the middle of town. Keyleth prefers to meet outside, especially in these crepuscular hours; this is when the famed ravens of Zephrah come to roost in the tree, the pink and white branches hanging heavy with specks of black. (She makes better decisions when he is watching, or so she tells herself.)
The familiar cracking and tearing of wood trumpets the arrival of someone through the tree. Derrig, always at the ready, grips the hilt of his sword, subtly shifts himself between Keyleth and the trunk. Others begin to stand, curious, as Zephrah had not been expecting any visitors. A woman steps through, and just behind her, Keyleth can see a jungle, and a halfling in a yellow dress.
Her eyes return to the figure now standing in the center of Zephrah. The first thing she notices is the leg, or rather, the twisting vines coalesced into a leg. Something twinges in her brain, a memory, a connection. Her eyes then find the the woman's face, and oh. She knows those eyes. She knows that hair.
The portal in the tree is closed. As if possessed, Keyleth drifts forward, several slow, disbelieving steps, ignoring Derrig's low words of caution. The slow steps stumble into faster ones, and then she's running, throwing herself at the woman. "Mom!"
She is caught. She was falling, but she is caught, and Vilya of the Air Ashari smells like rain and sand and smoke and all of the nights Keyleth laid awake as a child, the only time she dared let herself dream of this moment. There is a voice in her ear, and Keyleth is no longer the Voice of the Tempest, but a little girl, knee-high and wide-eyed. "Keyleth, oh my baby girl, look at you."
Keyleth sobs, hot and wet, into her mother's neck. (A scar ripped open, then healed in an instant, brand-new skin in its wake.) The mantle trembles around her shoulders, but her mother's arms keep her whole, a hand up and down her back over and over like when she was a child, crawling into her parents' bed after a nightmare.
"I'm here," Vilya whispers, and Keyleth only cries harder. "I'm here, Keyleth." (A miracle. A promise. A new day.)

Though the prime minister is always keen to regale audiences with how his young daughters are champions for the environment, he is certainly not one. When he was chancellor, ministers in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Foreign Office frequently described him as a “block” on funding for climate and nature, and said that at the cabinet table he argued for trade deals with countries that had lower environmental standards, rather than using Britain’s power on the world stage to push for change.
Critics are keen to point out Sunak refused to sign a foreword to the Dasgupta report, a review of the value of biodiversity. This review, by the respected professor Sir Partha Dasgupta, was welcomed across the board, even by the former chancellor Sajid Javid, despite Sunak appearing unimpressed by its findings.
Still, people can learn, and in his role as prime minister Sunak has had access to all the best experts and evidence available on climate. He was given a major opportunity to stand on the world stage as the UK’s new prime minister at the UN’s Cop27 climate summit last year, but he flip-flopped on attending, and only flew out to Egypt at the last minute, giving the audience a policy-free speech about how his children care about the environment.
Since then, things have gone downhill. His government failed to include environmental protections in the retained EU law bill, which will scrap many EU regulations that protect the environment in the UK. Sunak’s government has also committed to extracting more polluting fossil fuels, from the Cumbria coalmine to the Rosebank oilfield.
And under his leadership, the energy department has spent far more time attacking the Labour party for taking donations from a funder of the protest group Just Stop Oil than it has championing the net zero by 2050 target enshrined in law by Sunak’s predecessors.

The Five Champions
I’ve become obsessed with this so I’m going to make it everyone’s problem. For context this is the fantasy story I’m working on.
Premise: (Informal)
The kingdoms of Kallista have been at war for 20 years, when Queen Pyra of Vistelle proposes a peace summit. All of the rulers agree, and it looks like an end to the war is in sight. However, the summit was actually a front for Pyra to murder the other rulers to win the war. Here’s the complicated part.
In the original version of this story, the rulers were all killed, and the Champions were banished to outside of Kallista. But then I got attached to the rulers and didn’t want to kill them. So in the version I’m currently writing, everyone lives, but I still traumatize my characters. Because why not!
Note: Instead of there being a traditional heir system in Kallista, each ruler takes a Champion from the people. This Champion will train and learn how to run the kingdom until the ruler either dies or steps down.
The Kingdoms:
Vistelle:
Ruler: Queen Pyra
Champion: Lilith Haylin
Specialty: Powers derived from the stars and moon (Astrokinesis/future sight)
Aurelia:
Ruler: King Ashton
Champion: Fiyera Mayla
Specialty: Nature magic (Florakinesis, geokinesis, healing)
Thalmor:
Ruler: Queen Joanna
Champion: Calliope Trell
Specialty: Weaponry and fighting (No magic)
Kestra:
Ruler: Queen Talitha
Champion: Ruby Cinder
Specialty: Dark magic (Necromancy, umbrakinesis, sorcery)
Carthon:
Ruler: King Eron
Champion: Lance Arvos
Specialty: Trickery magic (Illusions)
This is just an overview! There is more to come!

X4 Summit 2024 Recap: Qualtrics Shows Why Organizations Need a C-E-Xy (Customer Experience + Employee Experience) Makeover
Tumblr media
Historically, organizations kept employee experience (EX) separate from their customer experience (CX) initiatives, costing them uncontrolled attrition and poor customer loyalty. At the Qualtrics X4® 2024, we connected with the global leaders from the Experience Management (XM) industry. These XM practitioners shared their insights on how organizations can use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver human-like experiences across multiple touchpoints. We will tell you how popular brands use Qualtrics XM solutions to establish a real “human” connection with customers and employees to showcase their values, innovation, and ethics.
Experience Management: An Introduction to New-age Business Values
It’s true that organizations still suffer from an “experience disconnect.”
According to a PwC report, 54% of US-based consumers feel the customer experience offered by most organizations needs improvement — There’s an experience gap that prevents brands from becoming iconic entities despite meeting the baseline expectations.
For most parts, these brands deliver products and services that exceed the parameters linked to speed, consistency, convenience, and friendliness. However, there is no assurance that they will still be considered “experience champions” or leaders as the experience gap widens each time we discuss the trends.
The reason?
Currently, organizations are “flying blind” with their experience management strategies. The experiences are disjointed due to the lack of shared vision and efforts. Leaders at the helm lack the initiative to connect the customer experience with the employee experience. They lack the edge to take on new demands arising in the AI-led experience management landscape. In 2024, companies have fewer chances to get it right with “Experience Management.” Say less than one, especially if you haven’t begun your experience journey to figure out the gaps in the GenAI era.
Why Do Organizations Need a CEX-y Makeover in 2024?
When CX and EX work together, organizations reap incredible results from this ‘connected’ XM approach.
If the customer is king, then your employees are the king-makers. Give customers what they want and they will buy more, and come back again. Give employees what they want, and they will stay and perform better. Along the same thought, customers and employees behave similarly and have similar aspirations when they talk and act with humans and technology-powered assistants like chatbots and IVAs. When organizations listen and respond to their talks and actions, customers and employees naturally become your biggest champions and advocates.
World-renowned brands such as Porsche, DISH, Adidas, and Hyatt have figured out one thing is essential to their existence and growth — CX + EX, embedded into their organizational culture. They have mastered the Connected XM. We knew them for their managerial expertise, sustained by human efforts, in bringing together CX and EX under one roof. Last week, we heard them narrate to the experience management industry how adequately they match and exceed expectations using technology.
Thanks to Qualtrics!!!
AI at Qualtrics is not something that was cooked up in the last six months to impress customers and users. The experience management solutions provider has been working on its AI roadmap for the last four-and-a-half years, CEO Zig Serafin revealed during his opening keynote last week at the X4 Summit.
“Making businesses more human using AI” emerged as the highlight of the event showcasing how Qualtrics customers and product leaders are working with powerful new capabilities of the XM Platform. Powered by Qualtrics AI, an XM-specific AI specialized in human connection and purpose-built to get you closer to your customers and employees. For years together organizations have attributed their success to delivering high-quality customer experience (CX) in the physical and digital realms. At Qaultrics X4  Summit, we witnessed the role employees play in taking CX efforts to new heights. New technologies can now support customer-facing employees to collect, track, and analyze conversations and sentiments for personalizing CX across different touchpoints.
With AI at their fingertips, CX leaders can empower their employees with superior EX that directly impacts how organizations can increase productivity, retain talent, improve products, and optimize customer support. All these, together with EX and CX ingredients powered by AI, drive revenue and strengthen organizational culture.
How Did Brands Embrace a CEX-y Makeover Using Qualtrics?
Tumblr media
At the X4 Summit, eight companies stood apart from the crowd by revealing their true business value through exceptional CX and EX initiatives. They were bold, creative, and honest about their XM efforts, and that was visible in the way they reaped benefits from investing in XM solutions to build human connections for their businesses.
DISH Network
With the help of Qualtrics, DISH recorded a 10-point NPS increase within a year. It also reduced customer churn by using Qualtrics’ insights. Its cutting-edge approach to using Qualtrics AI to collect and analyze video feedback is helping agents uncover new customer insights from unstructured data. These insights are directly connected to business-wide improvements that are further cultivated to design and operate a customer-centric culture.
On Day 2 of the X4 Summit, I spoke to Christina Sansone, vice president of CX transformation at DISH Network VP of CX transformation. Customers have a strong affinity toward brands that offer them a great CX at all touchpoints. DISH Network’s customer-centric culture is a living example. I asked Christina how her organization uses AI-powered video surveys and feedback software for sentiment and emotional analytics.
How has an XM solution provider like Qualtrics truly enabled DISH to meet its CX objectives?
Christina said, “Customers have to continually engage with your product to know they are getting value from it. When customers stop engaging, something is wrong.”
“We piloted an XM campaign (with Qualtrics XM Video Feedback) last year for our NPS survey. Within two weeks, we had roughly 100 videos come back to us. We were just shocked (with the results)! The pilot proved that our customers understood technology and wanted to send us the video feedback. It was a very relevant piece of information. We used the videos a lot of time to emphasize the specific points or parts of the customer journey. We do analysis of the customer experience. We talk to the customers to understand what can be done to improve the experience… But when I play the videos, and show them what the customer said, it makes it all so real. You can’t argue with the customer from that perspective,” added Christina.
Christina mentioned how they use the customer video feedback to encourage the field agents– it kind of cross-overs to the EX part as well.
