At 0730, we were in our wet suits again (which were wet still). The sun wasn't out and it was very overcast. People were moaning but in Queensland, you can have a partial cyclone one minute and the hottest sun with the most bluest sky the next.

They had inflatable kayaks for us at the ready which looked awesome to be fair. They sound awful as they're blown up and not 'real' but they did the job just fine. Maybe even better. Steve and I shared a boat and he was in the back as he was the 'strongest' (allegedly, I reckon I'd give him a good run for his money!). I wanted to be in the back so I could sit and do nothing but there you are.

We were all in and off to the 'Stingray Bay'. Funnily enough, there were hundreds of stingrays! We were able to get really close to the waters edge, but not close enough to pop the kayaks. The water was very shallow and we were very close to them. It was great. Some were huge! They were all buried in the sand until we got close and they moved.

We continued to the next bay and went through the mangroves. We were over lemon sharks which felt weird, more stingrays and fish. We were hoping for a turtle but none were seen. 

After about an hour or searching round and heaps of arguing between Steve and I, it was time to play kayak rubgy!

Lesson one: Do not put yourself into a kayak with your other half.

Lesson two: Do not get into a relationship at all.

Lesson three: Do not leave the country together and stay in bed forever.

I'm just kidding (kind of), but anyone who has ever been in a kayak with their partner will know exactly where I'm coming from! 

We were split into two teams. 4 had red kayaks and 4 had green. Steve and I were in a green kayak with the Irish couple, the French Couple and one of the German couples (the quietest).

There was a small rugby ball which had to be passed between 3 of the same coloured kayak's for a score, ball automatically goes to the other team. If it hits the water more than 3 times, it's a strike and passed to the other team. If it's just in the water, it's a free ball to whoever gets it first. Rule one: splash the other team as much as possible.

Rule two: you cannot hit the other team with the oars (shame, really).

We were off... It was so much fun and everyone was completely soaked! It was first to 15 and we were always at one down. 14-13 and it was a red ball. They were always going to win as they got to go first. I'm a sore loser so don't listen to me moan though.

It was great fun and I didn't really get to film much of it. Georgia took photos with her waterproof camera so that's good. We had to kayak back to the boat and it was really far away. We had been out for 2 hours as it was 0930. What a great start to the morning!

We got back to the boat and went straight out snorkelling. Steve and I were in the water first, naturally as water babies. We were on the hunt for turtles. After about an hour, I got cold. The water was cold and we had been in it, pretty much 3 hours now. The rain was pouring quite heavy so I said to Steve I was getting out now. We swam back to the boat and got out of our wet suits.

Georgia said there was a Jacuzzi at the back of the boat that we could jump into if we wanted. I almost ran there!

I got in first and OH MY GOD! The water was so hot it actually stung! It was like the bath I've dreamt of since I arrived in Australia. Steve and I started fantasising about getting to have a bath at home and then treading on CARPET! How amazing would that be under your feet? Nice, warm, thick carpet. Then we thought about showering with no flip flops on. What amazing thoughts.

The Irish couple joined us and Bryan almost tipped all the water out. We couldn't stop laughing. Georgia came round and asked that one got out as 'Lisa was moaning she was freezing cold'. She's actually a full sized baby if you ask me. In fact, ask anyone on the boat. We all had 10 minutes in the tub each but she was so cold we had to jump out. Never mind. We all got out and sat on the benches along the deck.

It was time for lunch around 1230. We had burgers and home made coleslaw which was delicious (minus the red cabbage). Steve and I managed to go up for seconds so we were having food babies afterwards.

It was time to travel back to Abell Point Marina so we all got dressed and chilled on the deck. Steve managed to get through 8 of our 10 beers yesterday. Good work considering we had 5 each... He also managed one of Bryan's coroners. As there were two ciders left, we both enjoyed one on the way home.

The journey was 3 hours although it didn't feel that way. I did start to feel a bit seasick so I laid down and close my eyes. We were 20 minutes out from being back so Georgia and Brad did their speech. Steve decided to buy one of their T-Shirts and a DVD with all our photos on. We didn't have the cash on us so he trusted us to go back to the van, grab our cash and run back to the boat. I stayed in the car, you know, as it probably felt abandoned the last few days (it was a good 15 minute walk).

Steve ran back, gave him the money and also bought me a T-Shirt as he knew that I wanted one. I'm a nightmare for not buying something that I want to save... It does mean now that we have matching outfits to wear sporting 'Summertime', the best boat on Whitsunday!

Steve and I walked to the car with the Irish couple. We said our goodbyes and wished them well after they laughed at Steve and his flowery camper. A few seconds later, we heard therm bib, we turned to wave but they were holding a 10 pack of beer. They said they wouldn't be drinking it as they were getting a flight the next day. Result – free beer! We put them into the boot and started our journey. Our 4-5 hour car journey...

Australia is absolutely massive and you only realise this when you're trying to travel from one place to another, when on the map, they're next door. We were off to the next town called Agnes Waters/1770. It's a small town, known for it's water. We're going to be doing our surf lesson here! It's about a 10 hour drive away so we planned to do half tonight so we didn't need to do it all tomorrow.

Steve started driving and I was going to be doing the second half. It didn't end out that way, it started to get dark so Steve just continued. It had been such a long day. Getting up at 0500 with little sleep, kayaking for 2 hours, snorkelling for 2 hours and then a 5 hour drive... By 2030, we were knackered. We decided to stop and find somewhere to sleep for the night. We stopped in a place called 'Waverly Creek Rest Area'. It was just before a city called 'Rockhampton'. That was a further 80km so we decided to wait until morning.

We pulled up and there were a few other campers there. It was literally just a very large 'car park' off the main highway. There were toilets, picnic benches, grass areas and trees everywhere. The noise was fairly limited, only the really loud lorries you would hear. Steve and I would not hear anything with how tired we were anyway.

We sorted the van out and then walked to the toilet. I walked through a massive cobweb and panicked. Steve saw the spider above my head which was a huntsman apparently. It put me on edge for the rest of the night! Steve had a massive stick insect in the toilet with him which he loves... You see some sort of insect or animal, you will see Steve chasing them.

We got back to the van and got it ready for bed time. We chucked everything into the front two seats and got into bed. We laid there for 20 minutes before jumping out again. It was so hot in the van we felt like we couldn't breathe any more. We were both sweating so much but Steve's side of the bed was damp. The humidity was so high today that the van was ridiculous. I didn't know what we were going to do. I think it was so much worse because we had just done 5 hours worth of driving so the van itself was hot, it had no time to cool down. Steve was sitting in his camp chair, in a parking bay, in his boxers. I was sat the same in just a top. After about 15 minutes of cooling down, we attempted to sleep again. This time, we were out like a light.
