One of the prompt was Natsume hanging out with his friends, and immediately I thought of Natsume's guy friend hanging out xD Taki (and Sasada) were on an errand and can't come sadly.

a drawing before the secret santa starts

I am very excited to present this drawing of Natsume and Nyanko sensei to IrisMessy (unfortunately they don't have a tumblr :( but the mods will definitely make sure they get it!!) for the Natsume spring secret santa even hosted by @natsume-ss.

I decided to draw them with a serene look on their faces and make it look like they're having a tender moment. Because Natsume often has his guard up around others it makes the times when he's relaxed even more special.

I drew the sky in the background, breaking away from the box I originally drew it on to represent the lines blurring between yokai and humans.

I like to think the love between Natsume and Nyanko sensei knows no bounds just like the sky. <3

 Natsume and Nyanko sensei's relationship is very special to me and while I love when they can be silly and play around I also love seeing the tender moments between them. 

I love how deeply they grew to care for each other and I can't wait to see their relationship grow even more!

I love using vibrant and saturated colors, so I hope the colors in this piece don't feel overwhelming. I also tried making Nyanko sensei a little shiny because I like to imagine the statue he inhabits is made of porcelain.

Merry Christmas! @apolocelot I was your Secret Santa for @natsume-ss. I was super excited that you said you like Nyanko-Sensei 💖 a lot as well! I had so much fun making this and hope you like it.

I have always thought it was very pretty how Japanese Kimonos use lots of different patterns to make a beautiful ensemble. So I tried mimicking that with cutting out different patterned paper to make Nyanko-Sensei. I had fun picking out pretty patterned paper at the store for the 1st larger one.

The second two sided one features Nyanko on one side and Riou in his sealed form on the other. For this one, I painted some cardstock and then cut it up.

It's been so long since I've wrote anything for a fandom, so thank you to @natsume-ss for giving me the chance to collaborate in their "Secret Santa" exchange this year!

Synopsis: Natsume draws Tanuma's name in a "Secret Santa" gift exchange...but what to get him?!

Though Christmas was slowly coming to an end, the time for gift-giving was not yet over as one fortune teller in Kumamoto would see. While checking his tarot cards in the living room, Natsume looked up as the doorbell to his and his husband's house rang out, making him cease his reading. Opening the door, the young man looked as standing in front of the door was none other than Rashaad Young, the proprietor of Okinawa's Eagle's Nest.

"Good evening, Natsume-san," The bartender greeted with a smile and a nod. "Sorry for bothering you, but I wanted to give you these."

In the young man's hands were a plate of delicious Christmas fudge brownies with sprinkles on top of each.

"I was told I was your Secret Santa for this year, so I decided to make you something that I hoped you and Kunio-san would enjoy. I hope they are too your liking. Give me your honest opinion when you come by to Eagle's Nest again. Sorry to disturb you, again. And Merry Christmas."

With a wave, the bartender turned around and departed on his way, leaving the dessert in the hands of the fortune teller, who had a smile as he looked at all of the tasty treats that would soon be devoured...

Nastume smiled when he returned to the living room and left the threats on the coffee table before going to the kitchen with two mugs

"Kunio"-he called his husband who out from their bedroom with his eyes still changing beetwen gray and red (luckily this time without pain) Nastume not mind it and only showed him the threats-"my secret santa"-he explain when Kunio raised an eyebrow

Understanding he nodded taking one mug and Nastume smiled looking at Kunio's eyes-"do you feel pain?"-the fortune teller asked and Kunio denied

"no, i'm fine darling"-he said and not insisted on it (although that not evoid Nastume felt worry... considering what Kunio's...new ocular ability will do)

But both ignored that and the married couple shared a brownie...their eyes glowed to how tasty it was

And both looked at the rest brownies...

@idak04 Thank you so much for the lovely Secret Santa gift. This is such a fun crossover and I adore how they are wearing each other's masks and mirroring their hands.

I love how you captured Gin's mischievous grin and Natsume's soft and happy facial expression fits him so well!

I want to give all three of them hugs. But for obvious reasons I would give Gin's hug to Nyanko-sensei (I would totally go Taki and hug that cat in excess if I had half a chance.) The squid Nyanko sensei is eating is a cool touch because it is just like him! He looks so squishy and perfect and huggable.

your art style is so pretty to look at. the peice feels so cohesive especially with the drop dead gorgeous background. It fits both shows's other otherworldly ethereal feelings.

The public library near me has a photo printer. So if it is alright with you. I would love to download it, print it it and put it in a picture frame.

I chose to go with a crossover where Gin from Hotarubi no Mori e hangs out with Natsume and Nyanko \ (•◡•) /

And here I also had the chance to make both the boys silver haired like in the manga, but i drawed Natsume blond for ✨variation✨

I decided to base my gift on your Hozuki Natsume prompt. I also chose to have Natsume interact with Tanuma since you mentioned liking Tanunatsu.

Context:

Natsume somehow got caught up in another bothersome situation involving yokai. He ends up being forced to pose as Hozuki. Tanuma, who happened to be passing by, catches him in this elaborate outfit. Natsume is super embarrassed, and Tanuma is surprised and confused. He also blushes slightly because he can't help but notice how stunning Natsume looks in that attire 🤭🤭
