As neat as a motorcyle is, I think wings would've been cooler.

Remember in the Natlan teaser, Mavuika turned into a Qucusaur in front of Capitano, and we thoughr it was a phoenix?

Imagine if, instead of a modern motorcycle, she turned into a pheonix. Can still fly and fight like this, just in a way that feels more fitting to what is supposed to be a fantasy setting.

AND then you'd have a weird connection to Diluc and the Ragnvindrs that everyone could theorize over. Also Natlan is chock full of Resurrection motifs. A phoenix would be perfect for THE LIVING SYMBOL OF THEIR NATION.

there was a fic i didnt finish reading while i was browsing thru mavuitano tag on ao3 that was flaming mavuika for being "emotional" about her decision to save the consciousness of natlan's people and i got so fucking mad.

like what the fuck. they already explained in game that natlanese cant even leave their COUNTRY bc theyre going to have brain damage and essentially dementia without the wayob's protection. HOW IS THAT THE "EMOTIONAL" DECISION?

if ANYTHING using the gnosis or the source mechanism IS the emotional option here--the captain was desperate to not have another khaenri'ah, and his actions were fuelled by the trauma he felt losing his homeland. So don't you fucking DARE tell me Mavuika was "emotional" and didn't think about the fate of her people. Just say you're a sexist piece of shit AND LEAVE.

Before anyone asks (considering Genshin is highlighted in my fandom list, meaning it’s a current hyperfixation), yes. I am aware of the Natlan controversy and its egregious colorism. And no, I do not support it in the slightest.

I joined relatively late in the game’s lifespan, joining the fandom around Sumeru’s release. Due to everything concerning that region, I made an oath to never buy anything from the game. To this day, I’ve never went back on my word, and this recent update made me glad I didn’t.

While I can still find enjoyment in the game itself, it’s incredibly disappointing to see the colorism in Natlan. It’s especially disheartening to realize that if they cared enough, this could’ve been actually decent if they abandoned their racist tendencies.

In my opinion, seeing something bad that could’ve been good is heaps worse than seeing something bad that’s always been bad. Thinking about a “what could’ve been” that’s better than the “what is” just hurts me on a whole different level, you know?

Because of this, I’m choosing to stay away from discussions about this particular subject for the sake of my mental well-being.

However, that doesn’t mean that you should simply ignore this situation. This is a problem that has gone on for far too long, and has only gotten worse over time.

But enough of my yapping. I’m white, I’m not of the people that have been hurt by this racism. I don’t think it’s my place to speak of this in any more detail.

tbh she's not THAT bad. Sure, her idle and the ending animation of her burst are a bit cringe but overall she (THANKFULLY) doesn't give cringy tsundere vibes. I like most of her "pouting" facial expressions because it looks more like bored/annoyed (except that final burst animation… that's just, no-)

Plus she works wonders with my neuvi team

Hoyo, don't do her any more dirty than you already did. I love my sassy women (Citlani, Faruzan, Mona…) without the stereotypical anime-cringe tsundere traits. PLEASE HOYO LEAVE THEM ALONE
