kinda obsessed with Czech lyrics for these (from Confrontation):
Monsieur le Maire / You'll wear a different chain
you wanted to stand above / you wanted to be my master
--
You must think me mad / I've hunted you across the years / Men like you can never change / A man such as you
That had to be a joke! / You'd escape me for a hundred miles again / Neither of us has changed / Valjean nor I
--
I am warning you Javert / I'm a stronger man by far / There is power in me yet / My race is not yet run
May Javert beware / why ask for trouble / I have more than enough power / I'm a grizzly so I beg your pardon
---
"I'm a grizzly" <3 :D

Hamilton:
Focuses too much on his romantic life, only mentions slavery in one line in a rap battle, absolves them of responsibility by saying “you could have done so much more if you had time”. Objectifies Hamilton’s affair partner as helpless common slut while making excuses for his affair. Completely forgets native people exist. Has a homophobic “fop” villain stereotype without giving him a boyfriend.
1776 musical revival:
Admits that the founding fathers could be stupid and easily distracted sometimes. Openly satirical of the government and military. HEAVILY criticizes their refusal to abolish slavery for the ENTIRE second half of the show. Entirely women and non binary people of color in the cast. Includes an indigenous land acknowledgment from an indigenous cast member before the curtain opens. Includes video presentation of leftist movements throughout American history including TODAY. Has a song about the tragedy of war without romanticizing it. Has a powerful song about the horror of slavery and the evil motivations behind it.

nitotan kaiba went to universal japan today. i didn't take many pics of him because i was scared to lose him and it was too hot to stand in the sun for pictures that often, but he got complimented three (3!) times!
i had his little keychain tied to my belt loop so i wouldn't lose him on rides/when walking, and while in line for diff things, this japanese woman immediately pointed at him/my belt loop and went, "oh kawaii!!!". this happened THREE TIMES. DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT PEOPLE. SAME THING!!!
so anyways. the people of osaka approve of him.

I’m 100% sure Abigail is a closet theatre nerd. Like everyone else hated Shakespeare but she just devoured it with a passion. Her favourites are probably Hamlet and Macbeth, (3 witches anyone?) maybe A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The Phantom of The Opera (she had a crush on the Phantom probably lol), The Crucible, Carrie and Heathers: The Musical would appeal to her a lot as well.
Abby would’ve loved to go into drama more but low confidence at the time/bullying/moving around bc her relatives dropping like flies etc. stopped her from doing so. She absolutely regrets not doing it now.

Haha summer events are cute and funny except what if I peppered in the concept of letting go of grief and pain and only two of the four main characters get closure?

I’m not even doing this in the tags because I want to rant.
Not a movie but the 2017 “The Mist” TV series was the worst thing I think I’ve ever watched. Every time you’d even try to root for a character the plot would punish you for it by making them do something unforgivable, until there were genuinely no likeable characters left. I only kept watching because I wanted to see if they would reveal where the mist was coming from, and then they canceled the series before that point, which I seriously should have guessed would happen before suffering through it. Most miserable TV experience I’ve ever had. I get angry just thinking about it.
What would you guys consider the worst movie you've ever seen? Not something that's fun to make fun of, nothing you ironically enjoyed, I mean just an absolutely miserable moviegoing experience that you paid for, hated every second, and wish you had walked out of and asked for a refund.
For me, no joke, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. It did not even feel like a real movie to me. It made me see red! I was SEETHING with anger and annoyance throughout the entire thing, and I cannot for the life of me articulate why. I saw it once in 2012 when I was 15, I remember almost nothing about it now, but it struck a nerve with me like no other movie ever has before or since.
Tell me in the tags, which movie makes you disproportionately angry just thinking about it?

A Los Angeles Theatre Review: 'Fake It Until You Make It'
Despite some unevenness in the comedic writing, Larissa FastHorse's 'Fake It Until You Make It' at Center Theatre Group is a romping good time.
The satirical farce genre isn’t commonly utilized for global majority stories but it is always most welcome to see. Such is the case for the world premiere of Larissa FastHorse‘s Fake It Until You Make It at the Center Theatre Group (in association with Arena Stage) which sets its story in the Indigenous non-profit sector in the most wacky manner. While it is occasionally rough and uneven in…
