I wasn't suppose to buy this "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" book because it has less pages but the cover was pretty. This kind of book looks appealing for kids to handle.

nothing much in here. nbs here in my city sucks. i can only dream of being able to visit fully booked someday but i'm too far + wala akong budget for tix bound to mnl. it's luxurious for me. so, i'm dependent on what's available + i just order some secondhand ones online at a very cheaper price. dami ring unavailable books that i want due to limited stocks kasi nga, di sila patok masyado. wala masyadong readers dito samin eh. iilan lang.

Got this from National Bookstore in Ali Mall last Saturday.
Also dropped by the NBS Superbranch in Cubao but found it to be a depressing experience. As with other NBS branches these days there were hardly any new stocks on the shelves, and most of the current ones were on sale. All the books on display looked abandoned and forlorn, as if begging for an owner. The 3rd and 4th floors, once brightly lit and teeming with customers young and old, were now closed. The dull light, the echoes -- everything there just gave off this doomed, sinking ship feeling. I hightailed it out of there with a heavy heart.
It’s the pandemic and the lockdown. I hope NBS can regain its old glory.

My National Bookstore End of Season Sale haul
[DISCLAIMER: This is a very delayed post.]
It’s an obvious fact that I am absolutely into stationeries and I hoard them quite a lot since 2016. I’m also a fan of sales. One store for me to always stop by when I have the time and when I’m in the mood (even) for window shopping is National Bookstore. Last December 2018 up to the half of January 2019, I went on several trips on some of the NBS branches nearby me when I’m at work - NBS Quezon Avenue and NBS Cubao. My haul included more of stationery stuff, some of which I was able to give to my friends during the holiday season.
Here’s a summary of what I got:
Platinum Brush pens
Since I wanna go back to my brush lettering mojo, I was constantly in search for affordable but in good quality brush pens for practicing. I’ve been hearing about this brand and when the NBS Season Sale happened, they were relatively cheaper than how cheap their regular price is! I was so happy I hoarded quite a lot of them in different colors, lol.
A Ben Cab lined journal
I love notebooks. Obviously. My love for lined notebooks is going back into my system and I’ve been looking out for good ones for quite some time now. I was blessed enough to score this Ben Cab lined journal for only 50 pesos (a dollar)! Its original price ranges around 400 pesos so imagine my delight upon seeing this! I didn’t let it go.
A set of Superior brush pens (gray tones)
The local calligraphy groups on Facebook has been crazy about these brush pens that’s why I became curious about them. This set is actually the first purchase that I had for this sale. I must say that they’re easy to use because they glide softly when I write with them. I’m excited to utilize them more in my future brush lettering works.
A pad of foiled and vellum papers from Rosie’s
I’m curious about the fuss on special papers from the planner society, both local and international. Rosie’s is a brand that is quite expensive for me so when I found that this pad was on sale, I did not hesitate to buy it. Let’s see how I can mix this with my planner and journal spreads.
I also went to Art Bar beside the NBS Q. Ave branch because I was told by my artist friends that the Touch markers are on sale. I’ve been eyeing them since I started lettering but they were too expensive for me (they cost 189 per marker on the regular price) so when I heard that they’re on sale, I grabbed the chance already! Since it’s intimidating to use these markers, I only got two for myself. The selection was also limited already when I visited Art Bar. They were valued for 79 each per marker, I believe. I love them but I haven’t been using them that much yet.
I can’t really remember how much I paid for all of these but I was really happy I scored these journaling materials for such low prices. I mean, what a steal they are, really!
I’ll be having a blog round up of the NBS book sale (Cubao branch) soon. I’ve hoarded quite a lot there. Haha!

This had been a long time coming, and I have been inactive for the past months. But anyway, I just want to share one of my biggest milestones!
My published novel, 101 Days of Heartbreak, landed on the 9th spot for the bestsellers in Philippine Fiction for the month of July 2018! The list comes from one of Philippines’ biggest bookstores, National Bookstore!
Thank you so much, everyone! This wouldn’t be possible without you. All the best!

This is my recent stationery purchase at National Bookstore (all under Php 200!!) I just bought the pink Kirarich glitter highlighter that I’ve been eyeing since MIBF. I also found the perfect size dotted journal notebook for me. I’ve been looking for a notebook that I can easily bring anywhere so that I can jot down my thoughts right away. I also prefer the dotted type because I feel intimidated in ruled notebooks which makes me not to write anything at all. I cannot find it in other stores and I’m just lucky that its available in NBS MOA. (And its only Php 50!) I also bought two pens for my journal and this cute pink pencil case. Featuring also the “fueled by milk tea” sticker that I bought from MIBF.
I love the National Bookstore branch in MOA because they have wide selection of stationery that you can’t easily find in other branches. Can you believe we spent around 3 hours in the store??

As much as I hate being adult, the one thing that I enjoy now is that I get to buy more books than compared to when I was still studying. It was way harder to save up my allowance to be able to buy the books that I wanted when I was still a student. But of course I don’t blow off my entire salary on books. I’m still the same cheapskate that I was before.I still wait for bookstores to hold sales and scavenge second hand bookshops for great deals.
I scored this pile of books from National Bookstore’s BookBingeBazaar a few weeks ago. I got these books at around 60 to 70 percent off their original price. It’s been awhile since I was able to go to a crazy book sale. I miss it.
While I’m able to splurge more on books now, what I lack now is the time to actually read books huhu! Adult life always so crazy busy. But I’m not losing hope. I will still find the time to read my precious books.
