Could we have some of your Lamb head canons please?
I'm going with my modern au because it's my little obsession right now sijssj
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm cutting the post so it wouldn't be so long. The whole description is below
Tumblr media
So the whole thing with Old Faith as the most powerful religion and Bishops is mostly the same like in the game. The world looks similar to our in 1700s, sheep was hunted down over the decades and Lambert was in the group of the last ones. That group was caught and killed, Lamb was lucky enough to be outside the camp at this time but they didn't enjoy their freedom for so long. As a single sheep it was hard to survive on their own
Tumblr media
Lamb seeing their wife for the first time sjsbsjsh
Lamber was caught some time later by bounty hunters. However, an accident happened when Lamb tried to escape one night - there were shot in the stomach badly enough that further travel was impossible without them bleeding out. So since Lamb was going to die anyway, the bounty hunters figured out they'd at least bring Old Faith their head. They didn't wait for Lamb to bleed out first, so that death wasn't fast or easy.
Tumblr media
First years as a cult leader weren't easy. Taking care of the flock, learning how to fight, figuring out how rituals work, it was a lot for young Death's vessel. Lamb couldn't get used to their new role for some time. But Ratau was a huge help, beloved rat-dad was as much supportive as he could
Tumblr media
After their first century as cult leader, Lamb began to feel comfortable in their role, perhaps a little to much I would say. Their grow their wool and started to pay more attention to their appearance and to the things that brought them pleasure. They started to fully enjoy their immortal life, to be too self-confident focused too much on themselves. They liked being in the center of attention, with the flock fully devoted to them. They even started to add a new tattoo with every kill of a Bishop or their the most devoted followers (as a trophy)
Tumblr media
Beginning of XX century, Lamb become TOWW's little killing machine, no fear of death or pain. Ready to die, just to stand up and go killing again. They were fully devoted to Narinder in the most toxic way, ready to do absolutely everything just to make their god satisfied. Lamb didn't even realize how obsessed they were with Narinder at that time
Tumblr media
Modern times, with Narinder already indoctrinated into the cult. Lamb as a selfish, egocentric, ready to do everything to achieve their goals bastard. Still unhealthy devoted to Narinder but this time in a different way - on one hand madly in love with him, on the other hating him with all their heart because of he did to them. Either way both of those strong feelings keep them close to him
Jeez this post took me more time to write than to draw djdbdjdj I'm soooo bad at writing

If given the motivation I would ramble more about Trod, specifically Tyren and how he's my little dude but also a character who's behavior I've based on being a victim of obsession and idolization myself and how it's very cathartic to write a character exhibiting all the traits, both good and bad I've experienced in the Lamb's position and then knowing exactly how his story ends
That and some Narinder rambles and how Lamb is more comfortable with him than a sweet dog that surely shows more respect for them (idolization that does not see them as a person)
edit: nevermind I did end up rambling. Some TROD spoilers
its great I love this stupid dog and his scheming ways and writing just *why* he's doing what he's doing with genuine belief it's to better protect what and who he loves without actaully taking into account the subject of his affection's feelings on the whole matter. He would never hurt the lamb physically but clearly that three eyed cat is nothing but stress for them (and is he wrong? is Narinder not a source of stress? We are not light in the 'enemies' part of the friends to enemies to friends to lovers part of the trope)
Though the difference between Narinder and Tyren, the rehabilitation and the corruption, although all entitlement, is agency.
Narinder often touts himself as uncaring and hostile to the Lamb and is still angry from the betrayal, as they are, but their agency is still considered even in anger.
In the Fox chapter where Narinder wishes to sacrifice Grekimar and Tyren, Lamb refuses. They argue about it and Lamb stands their ground, Narinder is unhappy about it but does not go behind their back and sacrifice cultists anyway when he very well could.
After reuniting after the fight when Leshy is revived, Narinder and Lamb argues heavily over the subject of whether or not Narinder is allowed to kill Leshy, someone who harmed both him AND the Lamb severely, and even though he's bitter about it, Narinder acknowledges the Lamb was not given a choice prior and will sacrifice his own revenge and comfort so the Lamb can have their agency returned, at least a little bit.
^^^ This one is a complicated one because between both characters, neither killing the bishops nor keeping them alive would result in both characters getting what they want, with reasonable desires for it (wanting to have choice again, wanting revenge on their tormentors, ect)
so Narinder essentially sacrifices his comfort for the Lamb, someone who is constantly sacrificing pieces of themselves and sanity to keep everything in peace
It works the otherway around as well: Narinder demanding talismans and God Tears and Relics from the Lamb and they agree, not because they're required to do what he says but because that's their friend, and they trust him enough to help him with whatever he's doing
(and back to the argument where the refusal to sacrifice two followers was in exchange for some of their heart, Narinder refuses and breaks the deal off immediatly even though the Lamb was willing. The Lamb is obviously more important than whatever goal he had in mind, essentially scrapping his partnership with the Fox and method to gain power because he didn't want his usurper to be weakened. and other things.)
I won't talk about EVERY instance of this because this is already a long post, but overtime the two are forming communication, compromise, and even in anger, there is a respect there that puts them on the same level as equals.
Tyren does not really fall into that.
Tyren would never, and I mean NEVER hurt the Lamb physically. He would never yell at them, never be angry with them, never be upset with them, because he does not see them enough as a person to feel those things around them. And if the Lamb does disagree with him or make him upset, he will simply....disregard their current feelings on the situation and do what he thinks is best for him and them, even if it goes directly against their wishes.
And unlike Narinder, he would do it behind their back to stay in their good graces.
Tyren does care for the Lamb. Genuinely. He did long before that necklace was around his neck. He was already a little obsessed before the loyalty necklace was on him, it just gave him a slight edge.
He respects them but also doesn't. He takes their rejection at the party in stride and is completely unphased by it, completely understanding, but also plots to kill someone the Lamb called a 'friend' because the three-eyed hermit is clearly stressing them out and it makes no sense as to why they're crusading with him, or spending time with him when he's been nothing but a murderer and a blight.
I think a good summary of all this ramble is that when the Lamb tells Narinder to leave Tyren alone, Narinder goes 'whatever i fucking hate you and this stupid cult anyways. die forever' but does what they ask, while Lamb tells Tyren to please leave Narinder alone, and Tyren goes 'sure! :) anything for you my lamb' and digs up a corpse and drops it's mashed remains outside of the cat's hut with a fake letter from the Lamb saying it's 'breakfast'.
Narinder and Tyren are both very selfish, but in different ways
None of this probably makes sense
It is also 6AM

So writing is really really hard and my friend adviced me to just give you guys my ideas instead of writing a big fic for it and Im gonna do that!
And gonna at the little bit of writing I did at the end!
Royal Au Narilamb's first intimate night together
-The kisses to give Lambert the crowns power brings them intimately closer as rime goes by, Lambert tries to initiate it more, make it last longer and Narinder never turns them down or pushes them away.
-Lambert is clearly in love but denies it
-Because of pent of emotions the intimate kissings buil up, Narinder goes to a brothel to wind down instead of risking it with Lambert. He thinks that it's unfair of him to put them in this whole situation in the first place.
-Lambert sees Narinder getting into the brothel and gets extremely jealous and angry about it
-Days pass, Lambert goes back to the land that was given to them to govern and ignores Kings letters
-Narinder visits Lambert in an angry fit, demands the reason why they would ignore a kings letter and threatens that he could send them to jail for it
-They get angry again but they don't have any crown power left in them because they used it too much after seeing Narinder in the brothel so they feel weak
-Narinder kisses them and gives them power only a little bit to keep them up and expects them to explain their situation after feeling better
-He stays in their place? Mansion? -Lambert is not rich idk what to call it, a big place where they govern their land- and later Lambert visits Narinder at night to finally confront him about it
-Lambert confesses that they were jealous and asks him why he would go to a brothel when they were right in front of him. Cornering him on the couch he was sitting in. He says "I thought you didn't enjoy our...times...together. Since you even said it scared you of what would happen if we didn't do it."
So Lambert screams with their face completely red. "Argh are you really going to make me say it?! I'm jealous ok?! You go and sleep with others and I... Do you know how hard it is to keep myself in check while kissing yo-"
-Narinder accepts the invitation. Lambert realises how much Narinder has been holding back as he hungrily kisses them, the two stumble to the guest bed and he rips apart Lambert's top.
-But just before they can fully get into it, the two half naked, someone knocks on the door and tells that Heket is on the move and their plan to take her down needs to start
-Narinder hesitates but after hearing Heket's name, he leaves Lambert
-Plot with heket happens and she dies but Lambert is injured
-Narinder does his best to heal them after they are brought back to his castle, to his room, they share an intimate moment where Narinder traces Lambert's fresh and old scars while healing them and in that intimate, alone moment Lambert asks if they are allowed to continue from where they left off
-and boom. They share a soft, passionate and gentle night together.
SO YEA. Writing all of this would kill me so you guys have to wait for it to be turned into the comic!
Here is what I have written so far. I dont think I will continue but yea! Have at thee!
A kiss. It was supposed to be simple.
Lambert just needed to kiss Narinder somewhat often so that the crowns powers inside them wouldn't turn them into a crazy blood thirsty maniac.
When such a thing was on the line, Lambert thought it would be easy. A simple kiss with a King they were active betraying, actively giving out information to his oldest sibling about what he was doing.
To be fair, Narinder was attractive... extremely. To Lambert, at the very least.
And yes their heart fluttered everytime they saw him, everytime he touched them, everytime they stared into his eyes.
Everytime they kissed him. But it didn't mean anything.
The kisses started out simple enough even though it was hard for them to initiate it first because Narinder refused to "force himself" on them due to the nature of their positions. It almost felt like he felt bad about putting them in this situation.
It didn't seem like that when he was constantly sending them out to deadly missions though...
But still, kissing on the lips, although it was to transfer power solely, was an intimate gesture. No body could fault Lambert for accidentaly prolonging it for just a few more second, just a few more pecks.
Aside from the kiss, the power also tasted sweet so it was impossible for them to not seek it out. It wasn't their fault! And it certainly wasn't because they had feelings for him. No way! It was the nature of the kiss, doing something like that with any random person would make you act like this if you did it too much! Lambert was sure.
And it's not like he couldn't stop them either. He could push them away like how he did at the start when he thought they had enough. But as time passed, he stopped doing it. Maybe he didn't care anymore or maybe...
What confused Lambert the most was the anger they were feeling that day. When they saw him walk into a brothel.
They thought,
"Maybe he is here to gather information. Yea, that must be it. Brothels are full of pent up people willing to spill out all of their problems after all."
So they hid and waited outside.
It...took some time...
But when he walked into the balcony, half naked, hair messy with a smoke in his hand, it felt like a punch to the gut. Stronger than any punch they had ever felt.
It was the second time in Lambert's life that they felt this kind of anger. So hot their thoughts melted together. So hard their teeth must have hurt from the pressure.
But this time they knew not to stay and let their anger do something they could never take back again.
So they left.
Walked into a forest and screamed their lungs out.
And they cried.
They were confused. Why were they feeling like this?
They needed to get these feelings out. OUT.
They let excessive amounts of the power they were given out in a burst. It looked like a curse Narinder had shown them once. Crushing force that broke everything around them.
The leaves and dirt of the forest were tossed around in chaos as the rocks and trees were torn to shreads.
Their mind started to clear up when their breathing sounded less like a dying animal.
His lovely unpleasant voice rang in their ear 'You need to learn how to control your anger.'
They broke the rock in front of them into pieces.
.
.
.
When they came back to their King given land, it was Ruri who greeted them.
"L-lambert! What happened to you?!" Was the only thing they listened to. They didn't answer and just let her tend to their wounds.
.
.
.
It had been days since their discovery of Narinder's... whatever it was and their outburst to it.
They decided that tending to their people and their needs was a better use of their time instead of constantly feeling a mixure of intense feelings. They had land they controlled now and people to take care of. Something they weren't really good at.
Thankfully Ratau was here to help them.
"This isn't how you should respond to this request Lambert." Ratau sighed for the fifth time that day and handed back the letter to Lambert.
Lambert grunted.
Ok maybe working wasn't the best idea to get rid of their already existing negative feelings.

Did the couple meme finally! Modified the layout just to add more little notes. Also drew Anthea and Narinder having their typical reactions to seeing each other :3
(As a note for the sliders Anthea's color is RED and Narinder's is BLACK)
Also little facts under the cut!
Anthea
Anthea is short as heck and while they complain about it jokingly they do like how Narinder can just encompass them into hugs/carry them around easily
Borrows all the clothes cause comfy
Loves pet-names, if you can't read the text Anthea calls Narinder Nari, but also Honey, Love, Dear, Kitty, and Baby
Pretty much good with people so Anthea is a bit of an extrovert
Affection via words and actions all at once
Anthea and Narinder both confessed on the night they reconciled, at first Anthea had no plans to since they had tried to keep what the gift they'd been working on that caused the misunderstanding vague, but just decided to tell Narinder it was a courtship sash, and both confessions snowballed from there
Anthea feels just a little bad about killing bugs so Narinder's job
Cars don't exist but if they did Anthea would prefer letting Narinder do it most of the time
Can cook just fine
Big on PDA but only if chaste-so little kisses, holding hands, hugs and leaning on each other
Somewhat overprotective but not extremely so
Very much a bi-disaster. This lamb was a bit too young to think of dating while their village was around, then raised by a group of old knuckle-bones playing men while kinda in hiding till their 20s they have ZERO experience with crushes. When followers their age occasional approach with confessions or get a little too flirty Anthea has no idea how to handle it lol
Doesn't really get jealous
Flustered as heck when alone with Narinder sometimes, they were not expecting him to be as forward in private as he can be. Not that they mind of course-they just gotta wrap their head around how Narinder can be all shy in public, but the second they're alone at home he's all in on the sweet words and touches, very needy cat that one. They also are getting used to being put first so it's this wonderful mix of overstimulation
Narinder
Tall as heck and very much pleased about taking advantage of that-he enjoys how easy it is to just hold Anthea
Anthea's clothes cannot fit him but he doesn't mind, they look cute stealing his things-plus it makes them smell like him which scratches an instincts itch in his brain
Uses pet-names but kinda like old-fashioned pet names. Love, Heart, Angel, Dearest, Sunshine
Introverted as HECK this man cannot do social situations
Affection through actions cause he's not always great with words, so giving little gifts or just being next to Anthea
After Anthea revealed the gift they'd planned had been a courtship sash Narinder went through like 20 stages of grief then a rapid-fire desperate 'I need to say something NOW' as they tried to play it off as a 'I know you likely never saw me like that it was a bit more symbolic but-' thing. He just straight up said 'I love you' and it snowballed from there.
Kinda finds Anthea-a god-killer of 5, being slightly afraid of and feeling bad for bugs cute
Would drive the call all the time cause it's just easier
Really likes cooking once he's taught, it's peaceful and fulfilling.
Can be shy but does like PDA, same as Anthea he prefers to keep things chaste though, but does get a little thrill at being able to publicly reaffirm they're his
Overprotective as heck the lamb gets better at not dying but he still hates when they do.
Zero relationship experience AT ALL this man's never even had a crush before. Demi as heck he never got close enough to a person for it, so with Anthea he actually thought he was sick for a bit at first.
Part of him does still worry about being left behind so he does get jealous-he's working on it though. The only people who do not ever make Narinder jealous is the twins because well seeing his spouse and their children just makes his heart go very very soft. Anthea can spend a whole day with just the twins and Narinder's just in the background purring happily at the domesticity.
When it comes to intimacy Narinder very much enjoys seeing Anthea enjoy themselves first since after bottling up his feelings for so long, now that he has the lamb he wants to ensure they know exactly how much he loves them/remind them how much they're cared for

I love your white collar AU, narinder being a dad has gotta be one of my favorite things ever
can you share some random wholesome facts?
Sure lmao
Narinder homecooks almost all his kids’ food and feels really bad that he’s barely decent at it
Heket, in her district, is notorious for putting on a disguise and frequenting restaurants without warning to satisfy her cravings, so the restaurants must always be on their A game
Forneus owns a little book shop
Narinder spent the first year of being a father to Aym and Baal passing out at his desk with Parenting 101 books

I love angst, make my fav characters suffer is basically a tradition.
So I have all this lore that I made up myself while playing based on confusing events and dialogues, so I decided to illustrate a little bit of what the transition from happiness = tragedy would be like in the relationship of these two. I don't know what the hell I saw in that spider but I love them and that's precisely why I'm going to make them suffer, you're welcome.
I MUST CLARIFY that everything I say in this post is not canon or is partially based on the canon of the game. Don't take this as something official, I just want to share a little of my interpretation of both the story and characters. Also that Shamura is a she/her to me, but I will refer to her as they/them in this post.
Tumblr media
After Shamura found the others, they moved together to Silk Cradle and worked out what their new life would be from now on. Shamura made very strong bonds with they new family, but especially with Leshy and Narinder, although due to his insistence they spent more time with the latter.
They used to take him with them to their temple and show him the spider webs that decorated the place, as well as teach him to weave and other things. Being the eldest, they had to impart the learning of their siblings as well as help them assume their places as divinities. All with enormous love and affection that grew with the passage of time.
Tumblr media
Years later, the five of them grew up and left Silk Cradle to begin to reign in their respective kingdoms. Because Narinder's kingdom was not earthly, he was the last to leave.
Shamura was the one who made and gave their siblings their robes, it was a last gift from them before not seeing them again for a long time. They could not hide their happiness, although along with it there was a slight feeling of sadness, but they knew well that they could not keep them with them for life and had to let them follow their paths.
Tumblr media
Of course, there are times when with bad guidance the paths can go awry. Shamura loved their siblings, perhaps too much and that made them very permissive regarding certain actions that they did. Narinder was fed up with his position and decided to go further, breaking the laws of nature, Shamura had a bad feeling but when they realized it was too late. Narinder felt betrayed when they reproached him, because it was thanks to their knowledge that he had done what he did and now they was angry with him.
Tumblr media
Maybe it was the tension of the moment that increased with each reprimand from they that caused him to attack them, maybe it was anger or he just didn't know how to control himself. From one moment to the next Shamura fell to the ground, a warm liquid began to stain their face, the screams of their siblings could be heard in the distance and a sharp pain began to overwhelm them. Fear, anger, sadness, pain, they had never felt so many emotions at once, they didn't know whether to cry or scream, whether to get up or stay there, until suddenly everything went completely dark.
Tumblr media
Shamura was cared for by their siblings until they was stable, but the pain from their wound was not the only thing that began to bother them. With it came severe headaches, vertigo, dizziness, and memory loss. Despite all that and the harm their beloved brother had caused them, deep down in their damaged heart, they still loved him.
════════════════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════════════════
I haven't worked on this beyond the main concept yet, but I wanted to share it with you guys instead of just leaving it to writing and my imagination! I'm thinking about making a few comics about it, I have a lot of ideas I want to put down here. Thanks for reading!

Hi!
Could maybe say something more about your Goat Realm?
What is story of Puppy narinder here?
What heretics look like here and how are they behaviour? (I'm curious about it because I love these beans. I'm all ears to any littlest detail)
How other bishops look like?
And anyway anything. I'm all ears to all ramble!
Drink your water!
HELLOOO
It is time for the goatverse yap section ! Everybody cheers!!
Anyway little disclaimers :
1_ is very work in progress... Unfortunately all my focus is on those two gay furries and not much on the world so I don't have many drawings to show :(
2_ it's heavy... And I mean there are strong themes and stuff (I'm not gonna go in details here) ... You'll see it better when I finish one of my many projects but it will require a lot of time... Like a lot, sorry... Anyway :)
Goat's world is very harsh. Here we live by the philosophy of kill or be killed very often, despite that there are some people that manage to live in piece and tranquility (example: goat's family and people that don't venerate any specific bishops or that venerate Kiran)
The world is ruled by the 5 bishops (these design are still concepts expect our beloved wolf lol)
Tumblr media
Four of them command on different regions, Kiran being the god of death rules the purgatory
He doesn't have many followers like his siblings but he prefers it like that, it doesn't really matter to him because people souls would end up to him anyway.
His siblings have more of an evil alineament, they use their godhood for bad often, taking entertainment on their followers pain. Kiran is the opposite and witnessing his followers suffering fills him with sorrow, that's why he always gives his followers a painless death, is the last he can do for them... After all their souls gives him power :)
Anyway I think I already explained kiran's plan here , tldr bro is sad people suffer so he thinks that killing everything is a good solution
A little thing I want to add to kiran's backstory thing (idk):
I think that unfortunately we're not gonna have a ratau in this world, since Kiran's objective is to get rid of pain with putting everyone's soul to rest I think he won't let any previous vessel go away after failing (I'm not doing this because I hate ratau, he's my dad I love him so much)
So goat had no guide in what they were doing
Heretics here are just like regular heretics(?), if you wanted to know more about their design unfortunately I don't have anything with them :( I have some sketches in the comic I'm working on but I need to keep it as a surprise
Most of them are just regular people that want to survive...
Talking about people who want to survive:
Goat wasn't always this fucked up in the head, this whole deal changed them for the worst. Before the crown they lived a normal peaceful life with their family, when they lost everything they were forced to learn how to fight back to survive. So they spent many years running away and fighting back, they felt terrible at first but then it started to feel normal, almost enjoyable. Getting the crowns powers made killing people fun for them so yeah lol this is the evolution of goat going from calm Lyra player to killer machine, they have a loooooot of anger issues lol.
About the bishops... I'm currently drawing them better and they still have no name right now...
Their personality is the opposite of the canon one basically
The leshy is calm less impulsive
The geko is a prudent and a bit coward
The kraken is fearless and violent
The scorpion is ruthless and impulsive
Kiran is their older brother and loves them very much!! the feeling is not very mutual but anyway :)
I need to work a little bit more on them ngl
Aaaand I think this is all? Hmm idk feel free to ask more :)

Let my inner demons take over and made another Leshy post, he's my favorite of the bishops!!
Been debating on adding him to Bow's little harem but I don't think Narinder and Allocer are too keen on having him to share her XD
Leshy and Bow have a back and forth dynamic where she can loosen up a bit around due to his chaotic nature, while he indulges in the serenity and peace that surrounds her.
Leshy is probably the only bishop that actually feels bad for having a hand in the slaughter of the sheep and lambs.

Rambling again about Narinder!
> 100% realizing no matter how you look at this cat. Trust issues and emotional constipation are his issues.
This is without deviating from the cannon lore you get from dialouge. He has been locked away for a number of years by siblings he once trusted. Yes, he had Aym and Baal to keep company but look me in the eyes and tell me he comes out emotionally stable during that time.
Parts I semi headcannon, is that one a millennium of being locked away, makes physical touch weird to him. It's not a negative weird but a "it's been too long I know this is good feeling but it's too much" weird. It would take him time to readjust to any form of physical touch that wasn't explicitly under his control.
He won't admit to this either, but rather come up with the excuse that one does not simply touch a god. The whole Narilamb ship in my head is literally. Lamb helps Narinder through what is touch. What is living again. Lamb in story is aware their god is just "a little" fucked up. They love him anyway and want to see him happy. (Another ramble for another time, but Lamb in my story intended to bend the knee. Lamb is the opitiomy of "so long as you're happy")
Part 2 of headcannon, he very much has that bad, "I will ignore till I'm not mad" habit. It comes easy as he survived 1000 years in Purgatory. What's a few days... decade or two of silence to the one that betrayed them.
It's such a slow rekindle to be on speaking terms with the Lamb again.
Though I like the idea of revenge right off the bat, cuase he's angry. There is something that feels fitting to a stew of anger he's really had no way of releasing prior. He reacts in retaliation in the moment of betrayal, but after indoctrination, he's spent. From god to a more mortal like form, it takes a toll.
So he stews, while the Lamb is now dealing with the fallout. Passively watching and ignoring the lamb if they come to talk to him.
(Though if the Lamb skips routine, the Cult watches as he begins stalking the grounds for them. Of course, he doesn't miss their ramblings. He hates their guts. 🙃)
There's more in this head stew of mine, but for another time, cuase words are hard >3>

Gonna be honest, no idea what that last asker was talking about when they said Narinder deserved purgatory more. The guy is messed up, don't get me wrong, but the sheep genocide was completely out of his control. There isn't even any evidence that he got locked up for anything other than inventing a way to revive followers!
Narinder is much more palatable than the bishops and the fandom tends to forget that making him pissy/angry all the time is actually pretty ooc (ESPECIALLY considering the time it took between updates). He liked you as a god, he was mad for a while as a follower, AND THEN HE SAID HE RESPECTED YOU AS A GOD BEFORE YOU EVEN FULLY FINISHED HIS QUEST LINE!
Tldr; Narinder isn't as bad as the bishops, torture is cringe unless it's character building :)
That cat spent a thousand years being punished, let him rest. He’s been punished for his betrayal, a thousand years of it. During the game his crime is trying to escape a prison that he would never be allowed out of. He’s given no opportunity to reform, no time to rest and no end in sight.
I do enjoy it when follower Narinder is a bitch, I just want him to be mean to me is that too much to ask?
I’m a chronic adhd rambler and I hate scrolling by long posts. More thoughts on Narinder under the cut.
I do think this bit of dialogue is telling.
Tumblr media
If you resurrect he seems to imply that resurrection is what started him towards his betrayal. He points out specifically that that there are no other gods to stop you from playing with life and death, this action makes him see himself in The Lamb. His reaction to the funeral is more reserved. Maybe he’s disappointed, maybe he feels some level of relief that you wouldn’t repeat his actions, maybe a bit of both.
And there’s his dialogue after his defeat.
Tumblr media
I was originally gonna say something about his murder dialogue but I got distracted by how fucked up he is. Narinder, baby, I know you’re the god of death but begging to die is not normal.
But yeah the point that he seems to respect the Lamb’s godhood kinda supports my game theory that the Lamb is more death than Narinder. At the end of his godhood Nari was corrupt, driven by revenge and power. Depending on your actions as the Lamb you are now either walking the same corrupt path as he did, respecting the natural order of life and granting rest, or a bit of both.
I do think its easiest to love Narinder out of all of the npcs in the game. Yeah okay he’s evil in that good tumbly sexler man kinda way but he’s also the character with the most content. He has the most dialogue, you meet with him the most, he’s got the hardest boss battle with unique mechanics. I get why he’s the fan favourite and why people like Narilamb, what gayer than being character foils? Nothing.
He’s my little meow meow and I’m mean to him cause I love him. Mwah.

Character Analysis on: Narinder (The One Who Waits)
Where we try to analize what really drove Narinder to betray the bishops of the Old Faith in the first place.
As a warning, the game leaves a lot to interpretation so a lot of gaps here and there will be filled with some theories and headcannons but you're welcome to ignore that and just take the pure analysis!
Alrigthy, lets begin!! (Rambles below)
Tumblr media
He who lays a soul to rest...
But before we can talk about the time he was a God, we need to talk about the time before the red crown sat upon his brow.
We need to see the time when he was a mortal. As we know, all gods in COTL were once mere mortals, ascended by the power of the crowns.
This is the part where i mostly play with some headcannons so feel free to jump to the next tittle.
Before Godhood.
Now, we know Narinder is a black cat. This is one of the things that make his design so attractive. The god of death is a black cat and he has all the mysticism and mythology of this kind of cats attached to it. It's a great design!!
The thing is, before godhood, Narinder was STILL a black cat, without his god status, he was subjected to the whim of the mortals. And we now our dark furry friends don't have the best reputation...
This is mostly headcannon, but i think Narinder as a mortal had a pretty bad time. Everytime something went wrong in whatever village or place he was, he was quickly the first one to be accused, shunned out and despised. Seeing as a omen of bad luck and death himself, he could never find a place to call home.
We know the devs used the lamb as their main critter because lambs were one of the prefered animals to use as sacrifices for gods. But you know black cats are ALSO sacrificial animals?
Have you ever seen those PSA in halloween were it will say things like "If you have a black cat as a pet, please take care of it. Weirdos at this time of the year kill black cats for their weird ass rituals" or stuff like that?
Well, with this i mean that cats like Narinder, their blood was not even worthy to be spilled in the name of the gods... But in the name of demons or other kind of bad spirits...
Heck that must suck.
I know the game itself never gives us an indicative to say that black cats or any other kind of critter faces discrimination. But the only thing i have to defend this theory of mine is Forneus!
Tumblr media
We all know sweet ol' Forneous. Cute shopkeeper, mother of Aym and Baal. Sweetest thing but have you noticed she never stays in the same place for too long?
We have a lot of NPC's we can find during crusades but that they also have a place where thay stay mostly and call home. Think of Plimbo, Midas, Sozo, Ratau and his friends.
"But Boku! There are other NPC's that are only found in Crusades and don't have another place where we can find them!" While yes but that's because those NPC don't have neither of this 2 characteristics:
1. They play a part of an important mechanic (Like selling seed, followers, teaching us new things, etc)
2. They have some kind of lore relevance
If an NPC doesn't play part of a game mechanic like fishing, or have a bit of lore to them, then why would they need a place to stay where we can find them besides crusades? The thing is that Forneus has these 2 characteristics.
She's a shopkeeper and the only way we can find the little gifts, some blueprints, follower forms, and even gold! And she has lore relevance as the mother of Aym and Baal and (Alledgedly) one of the few followers of the One Who Waits before the Lamb started the cult.
Heck she's all done! She could have her own little shop at any of the locations of the game where you can go to buy things (Maybe even have a "trade" kind of mechanic) where we can get more gifts for the followers, collars, and etc.
But she doesn't! And that's weird! She doesn't seem like the kind of NPC that deserves the treatment of "It has only 1 gimmick and that's it".
So, unless there's something that keeps her from having here own very shop at a specific place and instead has to be always traveling, Always moving around...
That's just a theory, tho!!
Going back to Narinder, as a summary, he had a pretty bad time as a mortal. That until Shamura found him and he was bestowed the red crown. Narinder had finally found a family, a place to call home, and on top of that was granted the blessing of godhood!! Things were meant to go swell for our favorite wet cat, right.....
Right....?
During GodHood.
Now Narinder was the god of Death in training, what an honor!! It is said that the bishops we know were kind of around before the purge of the gods ocurred (Shamura was there, called "A young god of war" by the ancient tablets).
So, things are going well for your found family, you're enjoying your time with your spider sibling and squid bro, helping to raise up a little frog and a squiggly worm who are also meant to be crown bearers.
All goes well until BAM! The purge begins. We don't have information on how it happened, or what incited it. We just know it was the biggest bloodshed ever seen, leaving only the bishops we know as survivors.
Narinder was still quite young when this happened. He saw how gods that were supposed to be friends or family betrayed each other during this war. He saw that not even goodhod was truly eternal.
Shamura and Kallamar were old enough to not be as affected by it. Leshy and Heket to young to remember all the details. But Narinder? Narinder was at an age, as an infant god, to be deeply affected about what war meant, and the things, horrible things people are able to do to get atop of a power struggle.
But at least he has his family. He had the bishops. They would never do such a thing! They were brothers in arms, there was nothing they couldn't do together, they would never turn their backs on each other! There was nothing they couldn't understand.
And so, the years went by. The purge of the gods transforming more into a myth, no longer considered history to be told. Things were calm but...
Narinder noticed something that deeply worried him. Things were not fair between him and his brothers...
Never say his name.
Shamura, Kallamar, Heket and Leshy... They were loved, adored by the mortals.
Narinder?.... Narinder was feared. Every mithology in this world has always being a little to afraid to even speak the name of the gods of death outloud, fearing them more than they loved them. Think of Hades.
"The Greek god Hades was the lord of the underworld, which actually gave him more authority over maintaining the balance of the universe than nearly any other deity. Still, the Greeks greatly feared him and saw it as unlucky to draw his attention. To avoid saying his name, they often used epithets for Hades instead."
It wouldn't be to crazy to think Narinder was given a similar treatment by the mortals, considering HE was the BISHOP OF DEATH.
For Lamb sake, he's literally the ONLY BISHOP WHO USES A VEIL. He was so freaking feared, mortals couldn't even bare to see his face.
Tumblr media
It must be hard, seeing your brother be showered in adoration, love, affections, and prays that elevate their names. While all you receive is fear, wails, and prayers that beg to keep you away...
It must be hard, to be a god. And yet, feel as unloved as you once did, when you were nothing but a little kid.
This, my brothers in Lamb. This is what incited that first spark of jealosy, that would later develop into something nastier, that would end in the fall of the Old Faith all together.
End of the Part 1.
That's it for the first part of this character analysis!! Bare with me because part 2 will come very soon!! Your bovine brother in lamb says bye for now!

I actually feel bad for those brothel workers. Like, imagine, a King comes to brothel and chose you of all people, you think this is a honor or some shit, untill from King's mouth slips name of some random ass twink knight (Lambert propably isn't a twink but in this context is funny to call them like that kJ*××&[!>jwjk)
askdjhaskdj yeah xD
He actually has the curtains closed, the lights gone and he doesnt want them to speak at all. These poor people...
(oh I just want to make sure that Narinder does not abuse or do anything violent towards the workers, they are actually very pleased with him and want him to come back more lmao)
I know it might sound a little yucky considering how brothels are
But!!!! I do intend on giving the sex workers some kind of a choker to put on their customers in case a customer gets violent they will be zapped with magic!
And the customer cannot refuse to take the choker off or they will be kicked out of the brothel.
I want Heket to be involved with this rule and the brothels but I might change it or make it some other nobles responsibility to control and regulate the brothels.

I am curious, how is Anthea handling Ascension/infant godhood in your au?
For the first few months-not well. At all.
To go from prior to that having hopes for the future for the first time in their life, their confession plans for Narinder, their plans of showing him and the twins places in person, their own quietly brewing dreams of being a family with them and starting a proper life with them-something they never let themselves consider out of guilt of surviving, to Narinder out of the blue seeming to 180 his entire personality and their relationship by demanding the lamb sacrifice themselves, killing the twins by accident and through that Anthea realizing they had long been viewing Baal and Aym as their own kids, to then learning it was all because Narinder heard one out of context conversation and in their eyes jumped the gun from there...
They're a parent in mourning, a first time almost-lover nursing a broken heart, yet they have just been placed in a position of power that's the worst kind for a person raised to put themselves aside for those depending on them. (The lamb was an older sister for only 8 years of their initial 26, and yet STILL view themselves as one because that was the role they were brought up to fulfil. The child who grew up too fast because the parents needed help and the younger kids needed someone else to be strong to remain kids a little longer. They are the 'big sis' for their cult, someone younger members can look up to for comfort/protection and older members can depend on. That persona was what held back years of guilt, resentment, and grief)
For the first four months it's a game of pretending everything is fine-hold sermon, ignore Narinder assisting the follower assigned to watch him, run errands, head out on a crusade or down into Purgatory by the whims of another god, repeat. Over and over while they're not sleeping and barely eating. The crown makes it so they don't 'need' to eat or sleep, so they don't.
Everyone in the cult knows the lamb isn't ok, heck a lot even start feeling bad for Narinder too since everyone begins to put together that this is a miscommunication issue that now has two grieving parents refusing to talk (prior to it all most cultists had assumed the two were already married with how Anthea spoke of him and the kits), but no one's in a high enough position to say anything. The Lamb won't talk to Narinder about what happened, and he won't approach them out of guilt.
It's only after the twins get revived do things start to shift-with Narinder and the Lamb kinda having no choice but to interact suddenly the lamb has someone reminding them to sleep, bringing them meals, calling them out on how they're in a way punishing themselves and that even a god needs people (he ascended with siblings to support one another, the lamb ascended alone). It gets easier as they re-learn how to be friends, and even more-so after they eventually talk over what happened and realize/remember there's still a love there.
