นางนาก ได้เปลี่ยนรายละเอียดต่างๆ ที่เคยคุ้นเคยให้สมจริงมากที่สุด เช่น เรียกชื่อแม่นาคว่า นางนาก มีเหตุการณ์สุริยคราสเป็นฉากเปิดเรื่อง หรือให้นางนากยืนกลับหัวบนขื่อ ตามความเชื่อที่เล่ากันมา เป็นต้น 

เล่าย้อนไปถึงในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 มีสุริยคราส มีสัตว์เกี่ยวกับความตายอย่าง เหี้ย นกแสก ตุ๊กแก แมงมุงดำ ความเชื่อโบราณต่างๆ สงครามชายแดนที่มากไปรบ ฉากร่วมรักคนกับผี (มาก-นาก) ไอ้แดงที่เป็นเด็กจริงๆ เพลงกล่อมลูก 

และสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์โต พรหมรังสี ที่นักแสดงหน้าเหมือนภาพประวัติศาสตร์อย่างกับแกะ ที่ไม่เคยปรากฏในหนังไทยเรื่องใดๆ มาก่อน

สิ่งหนึ่งที่รู้สึกปลื้มคนเขียนบทมาก คือเล่าฉากเฮี้ยนต่างๆ ด้วยหลักวิทยาศาสตร์อย่างชาญฉลาด เช่น ไอ้อ่ำ เพื่อนมากถูกนากฆ่าตาย แต่หนังเล่าด้วยการให้เพื่อนมากคว้าดาบออกไปท้าทายผีนากกลางพายุฝน ซึ่งทำให้มองได้ 2 แบบอย่างเคารพ นากเฮี้ยนจริงตามเดิม หรือเป็นแค่การตายด้วยอุบัติเหตุตามหลักวิทยาศาสตร์ เป็นต้น

ถ้าฉากเก็บมะนาวจากหนังแม่นาคพระโขนงยุคก่อนจะเป็น 1 ในหน้าประวัติศาสตร์ นางนาก (1999) ได้เขียนหน้าประวัติศาสตร์เพิ่มอีก 1 คือ ฉากนางนากยืนกลับหัวบนขื่อโบสถ์ ตามคำบอกเล่าโบราณเรื่องรอยเท้าบนขื่อ

หนังไทยเรื่องแรกที่ทุบสถิติ 150 ล้านบาท และทำลายสถิติของ Titanic (1998) ราบคาบ และเป็นหนังไทยเรื่องแรกที่สร้างปรากฏการณ์เต็มทุกโรง ทุกรอบ แถวยาววนชั้นต่อชั้น ลองนึกภาพคนต่อคิว Uniqlo, Krispy Kreme, iPhone ในปัจจุบัน

ไม่มีใครจำเพลงประกอบเรื่องนี้ไม่ได้ โดยเฉพาะ Theme หลัก ฝีมือ ชาติชาย พงษ์ประภาพันธ์ เป็นหนึ่งในหนังไทยที่มีทำอัลบั้มดนตรีประกอบออกมา และมีรีมิกส์ตามออกมาอีก 1-2 อัลบั้ม แถมทุกตรอกซอกซอย ร้านค้า ห้างต่างๆ เปิดกันกระหน่ำยาวนานหลายเดือนเลยทีเดียว และนี่คือเพลง/ดนตรีประกอบประวัติศาสตร์ที่ว่า http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcknvoR1TGc

จำได้ว่าตอนไปดูโรง ลูกเด็กเล็กแดง หนุ่มสาว คนเฒ่าคนแก่ ร้องไห้กันระงมโรงเลย ในช่วงดราม่าสั่งลาสุดท้ายของเรื่อง

ดูไปนึกทวนความจำไป เล่าไป ความจำไม่ค่อยดี อยากเขียนยาวๆ ให้อ่านง่ายๆ ให้รู้เรื่องก็ลำบากแท้ ฮาาาาาาาาา ได้ประ��าณนี้ล่ะนะคับ
