coffee shop au where instead of working with the hawkins post nancy ends up getting a summer job at the coffee shop opposite scoops ahoy. her break ends up being at the same time as robins, who she keeps bumping into on her way in and out. they end up taking breaks together, slowly bonding and starting to spend almost all their free time together.

Nancy's Journey: A Moodboard

I do love that as a result of Nancy becoming a main character later on, they were able to write in the story about her feeling excluded. It’s a very relatable feeling and was sort of amplified by the fact that they killed off the one person she was close too. Whether they meant to or not I definitely feel like Nancy has trust issues. She’s very wary when TK becomes a paramedic and she’s so quick to put up walls when Mateo starts acting weird. She was even prepared to push away the others when they put her on the spot in ‘spring cleaning’ and in the instead she opened up and shared something about herself with them. It takes a while but after being invited into their little 126 club and everyone supporting her we see her open up and speak her mind more freely. By season four she’s really very different then she was in season two and I think this can be seen as a result of her finding the people she’s comfortable with. Honestly this development is all kind of a happy accident.

I’ll avoid season 5 spoilers here but I am very excited for what is to come for her!
